Seems to get better with each visit. Very simple formula, great ingredients cooked perfectly and enhanced and elevated by touches of flair and imagination. Understated but brisk and efficient and friendly service rounds the experience off. Simples.

Absolutely amazing experience, as it always is with The French Table. They were all well versed, Christophe was a brilliant host and just a beautiful atmosphere for an intimate dinner. I have no words good enough to describe how the food tasted.

The French Table is a good "high quality" french restaurant. I went with a family member for dinner. The service was outstanding and the food very good. Overall it is not too expensive for this quality of food. We will definitely go again. The restaurant is very popular and rightly so.

I hadn’t been there for while. But it was just as good as I remembered it. Excellent service. Nice touches, like a birthday message on the menu plus a small cake at the end. Food and wine were a good quality. It’s a bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

We hadn't been to TFT for sometime but were very glad to find it was still as good as ever. Food was excellent and the service from Sarah and her team really friendly and professional. We resolved to return more frequently!

Lovely very warm welcome with delicious authentic food. So authentic I found a hair in my desert but it didn’t stop me enjoying it. The staff were excellent and very professional. All the extra little touches made my parents’ wedding anniversary even more special.

Another exceptional meal at this gem of a restaurant. The service is the best I have ever know because they don’t make you feel like a number, they actually care and are interested. Everything about this restaurant was perfect. We sat upstairs for a birthday meal and the attention to detail was second to none. The staff are wonderful, especially Estelle and the food was delicious from start to finish. It wasn’t too noisy and felt a bit like being in a members only club. Fantastic evening all round.

Very very good and always great to have dinner here. The only iffy point is the price but for a special occasion it is worth it. The food was glorious as always and we were served very well by nice people. I recommend.

Lovely as always! We were celebrating our Silver Wedding anniversary and the made us personalised menus which we were given on our welcome. The wines were also divine!

Absolutely amazing. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. Just a wonderful night out. Definitely worth a visit and will be back again. Not Pizza Express prices, though good value for money given the quality and overall experience. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely valentines lunch . The food wine and service were all good .

We were seated upstairs for the first time for some time. This was fine too, though maybe the wine arrived a little slower. All the dishes were very good as always, though perhaps a little salty and rich. The lemon tart was excellent itself but didn't need the chocolate accompanients. A simple lemon sorbet would have been better.

We are regular customers and they never let us down with the ambiance and quality of service. They are so professional and they have that Michelin star quality.

Delicious food, beautifully presented, with attentive yet discrete service (despite them being fully booked). Not rushed at any point, but also didn’t have to wait ages between courses. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

This restaurant never fails to impress! We were warmly welcomed by Sarah and taken to our table ( with our personal anniversary menu). The cocktail was a potent number , appropriately called Death in the Afternoon! The food and wine was delicious as usual and all the staff are so attentive but not stuffy. We have been coming for many years and have celebrated big and small family events . Hopefully we will continue to do so for many years to come. Many thanks to all at The French Table.

Absolutely loved our evening in the restaurant. Gorgeous food, very attentive staff. My husband and I were both touched when our menus had Happy Birthday written on them with my husband’s name and at the end of our meal he was given a beautiful dessert with a candle in it. Everything was absolutely perfect from the welcome to the service, food and wines. Amazing presentation of food and really tasty . Vegetarian tasting set menu - every course was unusual and totally different from the previous one. Loved the mushroom risotto, pear sorbet & the lemon desert … best ever.

We had a lovely evening & the attention to detail regarding my husband’s birthday was exceptional. For a Thursday evening, it was absolutely packed which always indicates what a fabulous restaurant it is. My only annoyance was that the waiter did keep forgetting a few things that we had ordered, especially the coffees at the end which we didn’t receive, but apart from that, it was fabulous. 

A special occasion which couldn’t have been bettered. We all very much enjoyed the expertise and friendliness of the impeccable service - family trait perpetuated! It made a predictably excellent meal totally outstanding and memorable. Thank you!

I always love coming here. The food is superb and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. The menu changes regularly, and is never wanting. A real gem of a restaurant. But book early if you want a weekend seating.

A real gem in Surbiton. We had the tasting menu to celebrate my husband’s birthday with wine pairing. It was delicious and generous. All staff were very knowledgable and attentive. A really lovely experience. The food & wine was amazing and cannot wait to return.

The food and service were brilliant as always, what a treat to be able to go to such an amazing restaurant.

The food (Tasting menu) was very good apart from the dessert. The quail, cod & beef were all excellent. The veloute, an amuse bouche was lovely but the wrong side of luke warm and the dessert - a melt in the middle mini choc pud with banana ice cream & one small blob of passion fruit coulis was lack-lustre compared to the quality & complexity of the rest of the menu. Seemed very ‘retro’/lazy. The service wasn’t quite up to par - we had to ask for bread having waited what seemed like an age after getting a pre-dinner drink, the descriptions of meals were delivered in such a whisper - I had to constantly ask for repeats. Once & then nearly twice - the wrong plates were put down in front of us. A fellow-waiter alerted his colleague in the nick of time the 2nd time it happened. One member of staff was extremely casually dressed in jeans and Ugg boots with a phone hanging out of her back pocket & looked completely out of place in such an establishment. My biggest gripe was the portion size of the wine-pairing menu. I accept it’s meant to be a smaller glass but it was barely a splash & whilst very nice wines - left you with repeated periods during the meal with no drink other than water. At £40 pp & over half the cost of the food - this is not good value AT ALL. I hadn’t done it for a while & won’t be doing it again. I wished we had chosen an £80 bottle instead. Those 3 meat & fish courses saved the evening.

Not only would I recommend The French Table to a friend, I have done so on numerous occasions.

Everything was lovely but our table was situated by the door which meant I was in a draft as guests and staff came in and out.

Had to ask for our dessert orders to be taken. Staff occupied with laying tables for next day. Table booked for 2000 and left restaurant at 2245. Did not have time for coffee. Food excellent.

All I can say is "Visit the French Table!". We had a wonderful lunch there for my husband's birthday. The menu was delicious, with some proper stand-out dishes, and the wines too. And everything (service, decor and ambience) was faultless. It felt like a real treat to be there, and we will definitely come again. It's a bit more expensive than your average meal out, but I'd say very good value for money as it's special. We also popped in next door to the bakery for a loaf of bread to take away!

An outstanding experience in every way, as always. This restaurant is a marvel. We had the tasting menu for the first time, and loved it. I can honestly say that every single mouthful of every course was perfect. The staff are lovely - highly professional while remaining charming, warm, welcoming and friendly.

A great experience in a lovely setting. The food was delicious from start to finish accompanied by a great atmosphere. We had 3 courses which was plenty, oysters for starters followed by venison for mains, lemon tart for dessert was especially amazing. All in all a good evening.

4 of us met for a catch-up lunch and our favourite restaurant is the French Table. We had the taster menu with matching wines, it was a lovely experience from start to finish, with superb food and excellent pairings. Service was first class. Well worth a visit.

The standard of cooking and service at this restaurant never waivers, it is always excellent. The menu is always varied and includes vegetarian options ....always faultlessly executed. Knowledgable, attentive and charming young waiters. The restaurant is comfortable , a pleasant environment, simple not ostentatious or pretentious, of a size whereby the atmosphere is convivial but not loud. The wine list is good. i cannot imagine anyone having a meal here and not thoroughly enjoying themselves. If you live in the area you really have no need for central London if you want a splendid dining experience.

We held our wedding lunch here 10 years ago and recently went back to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated upstairs (which used to be a private dining room) and the tables were nicely spaced out to ensure privacy. The service was fantastic and the food was just amazing - we had the 3 course set menu and both loved every mouthful! It was such a treat and hopefully we won't wait another 10 years before going back!

We have been coming here for years now and have recommended The French Table to many family & friends. Not cheap but not expensive for the experience! The fact that weekends in particular have to be booked well in advance illustrates the popularity of The French Table even in today's economy!

Absolutely divine. We had the most wonderful experience here. The service is outstanding. The food was sublime and beautifully presented. We went for the tasting menu and dined in on a Friday night. Cannot fault it at all and we found it to be better than some of the Michelin star restaurants we have been to. The cod and venison dishes were standouts but every single dish was a revelation. To echo some of the other reviews here, this restaurant thoroughly deserves a Michelin star. We'd love to see it happen!
