I have lived in the area for a year and I wonder why it has taken me so long to visit this wonderful restaurant. Having lived previously in Wimbledon, nothing there compares. Friendly and attentive service, excellent food and a decent and well priced wine list. Nothing to fault at all other than the difficulty of booking a table at short notice- but that’s the price of quality!

The French table never fails to impress. We had a lunch tasting menu for my husband’s birthday. As usual the food was delicious and the service impeccable. This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in London, we have been there so many times and will return again and again!

It’s always a delight to visit TFT - Sarah and all the staff are warm and welcoming and manage everything seamlessly and efficiently. The attention to detail is a hallmark of the restaurant and their food and wine is flawless. We are fortunate that we are local but we would travel miles for a meal at the French Table! Marvellous food served with aplomb. We always leave happy!

A fab restaurant. We go every year for our birthdays. You need to book well in advance as it’s very popular. Not necessarily cheap but excellent value for money and innovative food. Great attention to detail both on the menu by the chef and also by all the staff.

We went for lunch for our wedding anniversary, as it is our favourite restaurant, and decided to have the tasting menu. The meal began with a complimentary, delicious butternut soup. Every course was beautiful - beautifully cooked and presented and the amount of food was very well judged. The wine pairings were very well matched and, when I said I didn't like chardonnay, another wine was willingly chosen. Service was friendly, but professional and we weren't rushed at all.

This was the best meal I have eaten for years. The taste of the food was wonderful and faultless and the presentation sheer perfection. By far the best restaurant in the North Surrey/South West London area, probably one of the best restaurants in the entire country. Given the quality of the food it is inexpensive. Go there.

I have always found the food and wine at the French Table to be outstanding and the attention to detail is amazing - the welcome was warm and sympathetic, service was prompt without rushing and without being obsequious, wine was at the perfect temperature ( both red and white) portions not too big not too small… tasted amazing throughout… Of course this is not cheap but definitely worth it for special occasions !

We are long-standing customers of The French Table. We had the Tasting Menu which had seven courses each one being superb, the best being the last with a quite superb pistachio cheesecake. The service was very attentive and were excellent in clearing up after I had accidentally spilled my glass of wine with the minimum Of fuss.

This is far from my first experience at The French Table so I know what to expect. Everything, from the food to the service never disappoints. Inevitably, I suppose the cost of the whole experience has risen. The food menu remains good value for the standard of meal but drinks - aperitifs and wine - are expensive but once you’re in there it seems only right to pick the drink you want to complete the occasion.

I recently got to celebrate a birthday with a fantastic dinner, and it was such a wonderful experience! As soon as we walked in, the vibe was just perfect. The soft lighting and pretty decorations really set the mood for a fun and memorable night. The service was amazing! The staff was super friendly and always there when we needed something, but they never hovered, allowing us to enjoy each other’s company. They took extra care to accommodate our different dietary needs, which was really nice. Now let’s talk about the food – it was incredible! Each dish looked beautiful and tasted even better. We started with some delicious appetizers that got our taste buds dancing, and for the main course, I had the juiciest filet mignon that was cooked to perfection, paired with fresh seasonal veggies that were just delightful. And of course, we couldn’t skip dessert! The birthday cake they brought out was stunning and so rich – a perfect way to wrap up the meal. One of the best parts was how the restaurant made the birthday person feel special. They surprised us with a complimentary dessert and even sang a little song, which brought so many smiles to our faces. Overall, this birthday dinner was such a joyful experience filled with good food, laughter, and great company. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, I can’t recommend this spot enough! It really was a night to remember!

The French Table didn't put a foot wrong. The greeting was friendly and helpful, ensuring we got the table of our choice. The bread was delicious with several choices and kept coming. The baked oyster starter was perfect, and the mains beautifully cooked and presented; the venison and duck were particularly enjoyed. Desserts were works of art. Petits fours were a pleasant surprise. The wine list is remarkable with very fair prices.

We had the taster menu with accompanying wine, champagne to start and cheese biscuits and port to finish. Everything was fantastic, it’s amazing how the wine complimented every course. Fantastic staff and just a great night with no rush. Thank you!

Have been meaning to visit for a long time as have only ever heard positive things and lived in or around the area most of my life. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table, covered with romantic confetti and featuring a personalised menu as I had let the restaurant know it was our 1 year anniversary, these small touches gave us good indication that the evening was going to be a good one! My partner and I both had the Tartelette to start, she had the Hake and I had the Venison. Our eyes met as we tasted our first bite. It was Sublime. Other than the mouth-wateringly good food, the restaurant really stands out to me in regards to the service provided. We were served by multiple staff, all of whom were knowledgable about the food and drink provided, attentive, polite and with a personal touch. We spoke with Sarah the owner who was a delight and a lovely soul. As someone with experience in the industry I could not fault the place and the evening was amazing, start to finish! Well done The French Table, we will be seeing you again very soon!

We're so lucky to have a top notch, gastronomic gem on our doorstep in Surbiton. Magnificent in every way. Inspired by the French kitchen it always surprises with rich flavours and choice of ingredients. Always something new to learn and discover and the professional and knowledgeable staff is always willing to explain. And for those who actually want a conversation with fellow diners you actually CAN without being drowned out by being crammed in next to other tables or loud music, the ambiance is just right too.

An exciting menu delicious to the taste and attentively served

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The service is excellent and the food is stunning. If you told me it had a Michelin Star I wouldn't be surprised. You have the confidence to try things on the menu that you wouldn't normally have because you know it will be delicious whatever it is. The price point is definitely special occasions only though. If they know it is your birthday they print a special menu for you which is a lovely touch and makes a special occasion even more so.

Simply sublime. We did the tasting menu and every course was gorgeous, including the complimentary velouté to begin with. The wines were lovely, and well matched to each course. The service is friendly, well-informed, and efficient. The French Table isn't cheap, but it's well worth the what you pay, so if you're looking for an exceptional dining experience anywhere within the surrounding area of Surbiton, you can't do any better.

The quality of the food yet again was exceptional. The service was faultless. The care and attention paid from 'personalised' menu , to the recommendation and the food itself was perfect.

We went for a family dinner last night after having not been for a number of years. We were not disappointed: friendly staff, charming ambience and a fine mix of flavours on every plate. The wines complement it perfectly and the cocktails are top notch. We won't leave it so long next time!

Delightful as ever, a three hour lunch at The French Table is the most pleasant three hours of the 168 a week contains, until the next time, thanks again.

Amazing as usual. The only thing that could have been better would be that when I asked for a glass of white wine I could have had a choice!

Fantastic food and service. Although not cheap, it’s a very reasonable price for the quality. It was my second time having the lunch tasting menu with matching wine and both have been exceptional.

We opted for the tasting menu at lunch which offered a variety of beautifully presented dishes of authentic French cooking. Standout dishes were the squash veloute, hake and the passion fruit tarte. The restaurant had a buzzing atmosphere and service was perfect.

Excellent service and meal, just remember if you require a specific table a week before they may contact you to advise it’s not available. Very disappointing and booking system needs to be updated for the benefit of the Customer and THT.
