The Foxley Hatch - JD Wetherspoon in Croydon

I don't recommend to anyone to visit this place.

They have started doing live music! Went to see The Boston Brew in Feb and it was great. They plan to do food by March.

Great pub, warm welcome and great professional Landlady and bar staff. Live music starting in February so even better! Plus drink prices board on display, which you don't see anymore in pubs.

Great little pub wife a nice vibe for Purley! No longer a Wetherspoons so get in and get some still reasonably priced drinks! Super friendly land lady and bar staff!

Great locals pub, with an amazing barman, Elliot. He took my order, guest ale, and poured it but left it behind the bar. He took my money on card and as it was processing he gave the pint a little tweak of a top up. A perfect pint. He did it for everyone. No wonder people offer to buy him a drink

I recently visited the Foxley Hatch pub located in Purley and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The bar staff, particularly Holly, had a terrible attitude and was incredibly rude and disrespectful towards myself and other customers. Holly has no people skills whatsoever and it is clear that she is not suited to work in the service industry. To make matters worse, a group of customers walked in around 11:30pm and were refused to be served for no apparent reason. It is ridiculous that the pub, which should be open until 12am, would refuse service to customers so close to closing time. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, and it is clear that the staff at the Foxley Hatch pub do not care about their customers. Overall, I have to say that this is by far the worst Wetherspoons I have ever been to. The bar staff, especially Holly, have a terrible attitude and make the experience of visiting the pub incredibly unpleasant. I would strongly recommend avoiding the Foxley Hatch pub in Purley at all costs.

I was having a wonderful night and then the worst happened firstly I ordered a drink and this waitress chucked it at me I felt disrespected and I thought the pub shut at midnight, yet I hadn’t been kicked out so I wondered is the bar still open, which I then got the same waitress saying the bar was shut in a passive aggressive way. It’s normally a lovely pub but this waitress idk who she is but she did not understand customer satisfaction. So I’m not happy

Walked in with my child and got a look of death by the guy behind the bar. Not your usual Wetherspoons, no food in stock, sticky tables, staff members who were hovering around my table ( as if I were being spied on)as I browsed the desolate menu on the app. Not sure if it was because my skin was of a darker hue or they just hated their jobs, but in all my 31 years, i have never received this type of cold and awkward reception in any pub let alone Wetherspoons. Croydon is multi cultural, if the staff have an issue with it then London is the WRONG place to live. Bottom line, atrocious customer service

Awful service! Embarrassing, asked to leave in the most hostile way by selective staff, myself and family wanted this place to continue service but after seeing how staff behaved this place should be shut permanently and certain staff should be made redundant!

Another great pub! Friendly staff. Good food. I had the ham and cheese panini (forgot to take a picture). It was delicious! You can order from the app and they'll bring it to your table. There was no gas for carbonated drinks, but that was minor. They had bottled cider which is just as good as what's on tap. Plenty of seating. There are also a few tables outside in the front. Restrooms are clean, large and upstairs. There is also a handicapped restroom on the ground floor.

Nice cosy community pub. If this were to close it would be a shame. Definitely one for locals. Friendly staff, quick service, mix of TV screens and no TV screens , and variety of seating.

Decent spoons, with relaxed staff and atmosphere. Food is prepared quickly. Cosy size, minimal outdoor seating at the front. Ceiling upstairs (toilets are located upstairs) is quite low. I believe there is a disabled toilet downstairs however. Infested with ants

Had fish and chips today and it was a disappointment. Earlier it was really good but today the fish looked as if had been overcooked and greasy. I hope it was a one off.

Pub has been earmarked for closure sadly. A shame.

Not the best Wetherspoons I've been in! Venue was rather limited for space,there were six of us so we had to put three tables together. Staff were pleasant enough at the bar. We ordered food, only to be told after that the kitchen had run out of chips and when the plates arrived most of the dinners were dry. Normally a member of staff would ask how our meals were, but not this time?

Came across this Wetherspoons by accident. Liked the atmosphere so decided to stay for a drink then some food. Barman was brilliant and helpful with making Gluten Free Choices. Food excellent. A lovely pub. Shame we live over 150 miles away.

Bit of a mixed bag. Lots out of stock on the app, Black Dragon took 15 minutes to come and was warm.

Cosy Wetherspoons in Purley. Sometimes it can feel as if the bar staff are a bit overwhelmed, with glasses and plates not being cleared, but the staff are always very friendly and helpful (if overworked!) Fun quiz on a Wednesday, worth entering if you're in the area.

Pitchers were weak and spenny icl.

Been a while since I visited. Much much better than I remember. Given the ridiculously low prices and the good ambience I’d come back.

As Wetherspoon pubs go, this is a good'un. Friendly atmosphere and good staff. Ordered the new noodle soup for me, and all day brunch for my mate. Both came quickly and piping hot. Would recommend, and return again. Only gave four out of five stars because I ordered two starters as well, but only one was delivered (the other came 4 minutes later).

Lovely pub! Has the ability to embody a traditional country pub, with the cheap prices you expect. Staff are so friendly, and give a real personal touch! Great for if you're on your own for a quick pint, and great for groups too!

Great little pub! I come here often, even on my own for a few drinks on my days off from work and I’m never made to feel unwelcome. The staff are a credit to the company and couldn’t do more to help customers, their customer service is impeccable. I’m a regular here for the quiz they do every Wednesday! I heard on the grapevine that this spoons has been put up for sale and could be closed, this would be a great loss to the people of purely and I hope it doesn’t close :)

Ok for food and my mother and I only ones to have cooked food. it meant meal was quicker. Enjoyed it. Shame it's not on the main road

The food today was not at all nice old salad, dry fish finger wrap, and burnt bun with burger will be looking for another place to lunch with friends, sorry I did not take pictures.

Friendly pub quick service shame it will be closlng at the end of October not making enough profit. Still open 26.1 .23 and as usual good service and quite busy.

What a wonderful and unexpected pub in downtown Purley. Not as big as some 'spoons, but a good size with plenty of room to move about. It really looks like a boozer but in reality is a nice quiet place to meet up and have something to eat and drink. The pub is very clean and tidy and the staff are lovely. Not that many people in when I was there, but I get the feeling this is a hive of local activity. One of the 'spoons that has been put up for sale unfortunately and from chatting to the locals, it will be truly missed. And on the continuing egg saga: they had some, so the breakfast was as excellent as expected.

Popped in for a pint and a curry. Really friendly staff, food good and San Miquel only £3.40 a pint.

The staff were absolutely horrible. Very rude, pulling horrible faces and made me feel very uncomfortable. I was disappointed in the service, the toilets are manky. 0/10 spoons.

We ordered a Pizza with a drink on the app. After few minutes Manager came and informed they don't have pizza, we should claim refund from HO.

As far as weather spoons go this one's brilliant. Great prices and good range of drinks. Food was great too.

food was worse that a normal whetherpoons, which i thought wasn’t even possible. had to do two refunds, one because they didn’t have the food in stock. they should have a system where they take it off the menu online if it’s not in stock rather than having a 7-10 day refund.

Tiny pub. Everytime I come I can’t even get a seat, not sure why I bother anymore to be honest. Staff quite obviously hate their jobs, so when trying to have a jolly happy time and all you see is moody faces it’s quite frustrating, when ordering a drink it’s just a case of here’s your drink now sod off kind of thing, no friendly chit chat. Disappointing pub. Food is something I will never order again, gave me an upset stomach all night. Toilets are clearly not cleaned either.

Eastern Europeans not welcome. In fact, the Purley seems a bit unwelcoming all together. Well, Brexit and so on. So low. Never mind, I'm not gonna settle.

Good Wetherspoons with friendly staff situated in Purley Town centre. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for good cheap beer and food. Curry club on Thursdays are good too. Top tip: use the app to order food and drink to your table to avoid queuing at the bar!

First time visiting after a long afternoon of deciding where to go, after a long day out decided to try this place, I've been past so many times but never in, lovely small wetherspoons, good atmosphere, nice food, friendly staff, and a decent size chip portion haha!

I went with family on Sat evening it was getting late but we had dined locally and thought we would have one last drink..unfortunately not a good experience as we were served the wrong drinks! And when we told them both a male and female member of staff were very rude to us. No apology denied they were wrong wven though someone else witnessed my order..very arrogant attitude as well.

Really good food, good prices, nice interior and clean toilets. The food I've tried here are Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Jalfrezi, Pepperoni Pizza, Chicken Wings and grilled chicken and all were great. They're also part of wetherspoons so you can order through the app which is great.
