Having been to the Fox before, we decided to go back for Sunday lunch, but this time we were a party of 8. The lunch was fabulous and I must give a shout out to Adam, who was brilliant with my elderly mother-in-law

Not great. Pub itself was so noisy/loud could barely hear yourself think in the ‘separate’ restaurant. Football pub vibes. Food wise, bland, boring, didn’t make any sense. Chicken & bacon pie - thin, flavourless sauce. Pastry so thick not cooked through and tiny. Mash potatoes cold and lumpy and Mediterranean veg was as if still frozen so hard. Just didn’t all go together with the gravy Not a great experience, nothing to write home about and wouldn’t bother again. Staff seemed nice. Whoever devised the menu, creates the food needs more work….

We picked the the Fox Inn as it had positive food reviews and atmosphere reviews I’m sitting in dining room of the Fox Inn as I type this review; The Postives are imho; lovely atmosphere, nice indoor/outdoor dining area, the Staff are very good and quick in the service. The menu selections are large & varied, there is a great range of beers & ciders on tap with a good number of locally/regionally produced brews. On our visit we did not enjoy our meals, they looked lovely on plate as did every meal we saw delivered to other tables nearby, big servings, for us unfortunately my surf & turf, the steak was tough, over cooked (or cooked too quickly at high heat setting ) imho & grisly, the peas & the fried onions had also been overcooked in my opinion My wife ordered the King Prawn linguine, she barely ate more than a few mouthfuls. In her opinion it lacked herbs & garlic hence lacked flavour. No parmesan cheese offered. We advised Our Serving Staff. I’m puzzled, i looked at other meals being served & they look good, so maybe we unlucky but two meals at one table, just disappointing

Big shout out to the chef, Adrian.... I had been to a 'Big Name' restaurant in Chichester only a week earlier for a pre theatre meal, that evening I had Chicken and Chorizo pie, it was nice .... BUT on Thursday 15th August 2024 we were having lunch with a friend and we all chose from the specials board.... I chose the 'Fox Pie' (Chicken, Bacon and Chorizo) I have to say it is the tastiest one I have every had.... it totally blew the 'Big Name' pie out of the water.... We are often in the Fox but this pie is absolutely the best meal I have had there...and I had to tell the staff.... if you are around the area you

We visited The Fox on a Wednesday evening to celebrate my daughters 40th birthday. As a party of 25 plus, we had pre-ordered the week before. The team at The Fox could not have been more accommodating. The food was amazing and the service we received was first class. It was an extremely busy evening in the pub but nothing was too much trouble for them. I want to say a special thanks to Adam and Tod for their endless patience - everyone was amazing and my daughter had the best time celebrating her 40th birthday. A big shout out to the chef too as the food was fantastic!. I highly recommend The Fox!

The service from the young girl was excellent as well with absolutely nothing to much trouble. The chef and overall team should be very proud of themselves and I will be back on a weekly basis. The smooth table booking process, the nice helpful staff, the COVID precautions, and handy 21 st century app make this place a delight to dine and drink in and have really re thought and re imagined the pub for the times we live in ! Somebody needs congratulations here !!! Only down side is the toilets which are from 1978…the Lino is clean and somebody painted the pipes but it’s still very dated although not as dated as the pub which is hundreds of years old ! Most old pubs suffer the same lack of attention to the toilets ! This pub gets away with it as they are clean, modern compared to the pub and the food, service and app make it a rewarding find !

I visited, with a colleague, on Friday 23rd April 2021....now i fully appreciate that these are difficult times and we are all adapting to a new world. I was sat in the small outside garden and was informed that i had to download an app in order to order drinks. I explained to the co-owner that I did not have internet on my mobile (not all of us have smart phones), his response was "log on to our wi-fi", so i repeated i have no internet on my mobile.......this co-owner then spoke to me like a 5 year old and once again said "log on to our wi-fi".The annoying thing, apart from the rude and abnoxious co-owner, was that if i moved 20 yards into the other garden area i could order drinks at the table and pay for it by card.I will not be visiting again

Lovely surprise in these dark times The Fox Inn has just reopened under new management. Retains all of the beautiful old panelled features of this traditional pub with a decluttered fresh appeal. Especially helpful in these times of being COVID safe. .It’s moved on from fried pub grub to a small but great selection of beautifully cooked food. Very warm personal welcome from front of house. Thoughtful wine selection.

A HUGE improvement. The decor has been changed slightly but it's a massive improvement. Good idea to make small changes rather than completely gut the place and renew it. I hope they continue with this approach. The menu is quote small, but again, good idea to start with. The food was lovely. Excellent pub grub rather than top restaurant quality. It's just exactly what the village needs - a decent local with good food and beer. It still has some delicious real ales and a few gins and whiskies. We can see ourselves being regular visitors, especially towards the summer after dog walks having a bite and a pint in the garden. Well done The Fox!Currently they're doing a great job with the Covid restrictions. We'll definitely be back and hope it succeeds

We love the food and the atmosphere at The Fox. All of the covid rules are followed and the one way system works well. The only thing which always spoils it is the lack of choice in their wine. We drink sauvignon blanc and they only sell a very cheap Chilean wine. No New Zealand, Australian or any other variety. Such a lovely cosy pub, the music was at the right volume, not so high that we couldn’t have a conversation.I ordered the steak and vegetable pie/pud with mash veg and gravy followed by the treacle sponge and custard, I couldn’t fault the food, but my husband ordered the scampi and chips, hubby said the chips were very dry and seemed to have been over cooked. Being new to the area, I followed recommendations to eat at The Fox Inn, Felpham. My wife was away so I took the opportunity to have lunch there and having checked the menu before hand decided to have the steak pie with mashed potato and veg ....... with a pint! I have to say that from the moment I arrived until the moment I left the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Just what you want! Having signed in for Track & Trace my order was taken and I sat and waited... but not for too long. The young lady who served my food was very friendly and helpful fetching the condiments for me. The food when it arrived was hot and I just coudnt believe the size of the steak pie. It was a large wedge, very thick and full to the brim with meat. It was very tasty and filling! The mashed potato was also very tasty and moresome especially with the jug of gravy. My original plan was to enjoy a traditional pudding and Sticky Toffee was calling me. But having enjoyed the pie I had no room for pudding. That for me is a great sign of a good portion of food.Yes, I had a great experience and will definately return although with my wife next time. My thanks to the staff for being so helpful.

We came in for breakfast, is strange times, so staff wearing visors and gloves.Had to order the food at the table, via an app, which took me a while. I believe alot of people would not be able to manage that. So I believe seeing as we were literally the only customers, at that point they'd of been better off just asking us what we would like??Asked for more tea, got the tea, no more milk or sugar. So we had to ask for more. Also I had to ask for the cutlery when our food arrived.I'd of expected exemplary service seeing as at that point we were the only customers. So when they are busy, I'd hate to think what the service is like. Yes I understand, is strange times, but service just not up to scratch. The breakfast was quite nice, apart from the toast was hardly cooked and cold, and the butter packs melted too much as were probably under the hot plate a long time. We won't be back for the food. The place does have a very large and lovely garden though, so we may be back for a drink sometime.

I had to ask someone how to use the app as it was complicated to start with, easier once you manage to get started. Found the drinks to be very expensive £4.50 for a bottle of beer. Visiting the Fox for the first time for a while with the family on our first evening out to a pub / restaurant for food we chose the Fox - always tricky in this unprecedented time of COVID 19 - The system seems complicated to order food & drink sometimes having to pay on collect from the bar on occasions the drinks were bought to the table & again had to be paid. - the food ordering would be tricky if you don’t have a smart phone. It’s tricky to understand the systems they wanted following & even when we felt we had worked out the system It was kind I’d changed. The bowls to place empty glasses in we didn’t seem to fully understand how and what to do. The toilets had been changed from vents to ladies with a shower curtain covering the urinals - we also had to ask for paper towels for hand washing. The food was ok warm to ok ish - bought to the table separately which did delay things - overall we’ll wait to see how things develop & change pre returning. They seemed to have tried not fully sure they all work.

Visit pub for my sister-in-law 30th birthday meal. First off how we where seated for the amount of people was very poor as unable to communicate with other people in the party. As we sat down, they started to bring out the starts but didn’t ask if everyone is here, so ended up sending starts back. The food was terrible like they didn’t care. When they came out the my potato wedges they where over done almost burnt, and mushroom where gloopy and the toast that came with it was cold not hot and garlic bread, was cold and just melted cheeses. They mains came out gammon was dry. The burgers we had was dry chips where over done and frozen and the onion rings where over done as well and test of fish. I feel overall this was a massive let down to what was meant to be a lovely and special evening with family and friends. Also no customer service to ask if everything was ok. Need to massively improve on food and customer service as could be a lovely venue.

When asked which cheese we would like, as you had a choice of three ‘fillings’, I opted for cheddar and asked if salad was given with the dish and was told no, so I only got knives as cutlery. When the dish came, with salad, there was ONE, very small piece of cheddar. As I went back to get forks, I mentioned the very mean piece of cheddar, to which she replied that I had not asked for more. Now, was I wrong to assume I would get three bits of cheddar?

Good to visit an unspoiled old pub. Had a Carvery on Sunday which was very nice. Two cheerful young chaps seemed to running everything very efficiently. Went again on Wednesday evening and tried a pint of American Pale Ale followed by a pint of "Doom" (had previously tried their "Jail Ale") so an interesting variety of drinks available. Thought £2.50 for a small tonic water was a bit steep for people driving home though. Pleasant young female staff running the pub on Wednesday so if some were students they must have been surprised at what they had to charge for a "soft drink"??

We found that this place was dog friendly so stopped by on the way out of Bognor Regis. There's a fair amount of car parking space, a pleasant garden area and plenty of seating inside. Dogs are welcome everywhere except for the actual restaurant area but we sat in the Conservatory where there was a little more room for all of us but it was a bit warm when the sun was out. We didn't want a big meal so chose a Ploughmans with Cheddar and Ham, a Tuna and Cheese Melt open Ciabatta and a Seafood Sharer with chips plus a Kids meal of Ham, Egg and Chips. the food came out pretty quickly and we tucked in. All was fine but, the kids meal apart, we felt that they'd skimped a little on the portions. The Seafood Sharer had four small Calamari rings, two pieces of Scampi, four fish goujons, Prawns in a Marie Rose Sauce, Coleslaw, Salad and four quarters of bread and butter. One person could have eaten the lot but luckily we weren't starving and there were plenty of chips anyway. Similarly, the Ploughmans would have been nicer with more salad and maybe an apple or similar on the side, but the Ciabatta with it was good.

Stopped in Bank holiday Monday with friends and had a superb time, the staff were all friendly and attentive. I personally had the sweet potato veggie curry and it was amazing! Was also quite surprised to see quite a range of options for people with special dietary requirements, it’s a rarity to have a choice of options rather than just a singular bland dish. Keep up the good work!

We are Felpham residents who regularly eat at the Fox. Tonight we arrived at about 6.15. Drinks were ordered and the weekend caught up on and then we went to the bar to order 5 meals at 6.40 only to be told the kitchen closed at 6.30. For a pub that's big on signage there was nothing posted anywhere to say that the kitchen was closing at that time. When confronted the barman advised that it was Sunday opening hours and didn't know quite what to say when advised that it was actually Monday. Anyway it was their loss as we had a fantastic meal at So India.

We visited this pub for an impromptu lunch a few weeks ago and I ordered a veggie chilli. Despite calling the waitress over multiple times to check that it was vegetarian as I was really doubtful and being reassured it was; after tasting it and getting my husband to confirm my fears, I sent it back to the kitchen who confirmed that I'd been given the meat one. The waitress was very apologetic and I then ordered the vegetarian one but almost immediately changed my mind as I'd completely lost my appetite. I cancelled the order and requested a refund of my original meal as we'd paid at the original time of ordering. After 20 minutes or so whilst my husband and friends finished their lunch, I approached the bar and spoke to a young man who told me he was the assistant manager. I said I was very disappointed not to have received my refund and considering I'd started to eat a meal that I'd been reassured several times contained no meat, the least I expected was for him to have come over and apologise and offer us some drinks. He said he was about to do that! Shortly afterwards, he came over with a glass of Prosecco for me then made a point of telling us that the other two drinks we ordered would be put on a tab! This young man has absolutely no idea about customer service.

Ate there last weekend and kind of wish we hadn’t. Reserved a table which was a good idea because quite busy but not with diners, quite a lot of the tables were being used by the drinkers it seemed. Friendly welcome and attentive service its true but then all down hill. My wife had the meat and vegetable pie, it had been so long on the hot plate that all the insides were a solid mass stuck to the rock hard pastry, I had the lamb which was adequate, both the meals were served with just a large tablespoon of vegetables. I followed with a tasteless spotted dick and lukewarm custard. Will not be back

Mostly our Sunday lunch was lovely, great potatoes, perfectly cooked lamb and yummy Yorkshire pudding. Unfortunately the beef was really dry and I received a tiny portion of lamb, which spoilt things for us and we’re not sure if we’d return.

We booked a table for 4 on Easter Monday. A typical village pub well frequented by locals and visitors. We had not used the Fox for several years so thought we would 'dine local'.

Lovely pub with separate dining area to keep children from the bar. Food was well priced and came really quickly. Ordered 2 x Childrens Ham, Egg & Chips and there was plenty for a hungry 6 & 7 year old. Make sure you look at the specials board too... Steak & Veg Pie was a huge chuck of pure delightful melt in the mouth and the Soup on the Day (tomato & roasted red pepper) was perfect.. with just enough of a kick to make it the best I’ve ever had!! 7 Flavours of Ice Cream to chose from for after is a perfect touch!! Was recommended this place and will certainly be recommending it on!!

Walked from Butlins after a riotous evening ( 70's ) week-end, very good lunch for six people, good range of beers, good service, followed by a slow return walk to Butlins via the seafront putting green? Boys will be boys.

We used to visit this pub regularly for meals, and booked a table for Saturday. Quite disappointing compared to last few visits. The food was uninspiring and mostly out of a packet. The curry was possibly tinned, but definitely not made on site, the sauce was manufactured, the rice looked distinctly from a packet. The deep fried fish starter was frozen food from a retailer, and the mixed grill was nothing to write home about. The upside was the dessert, but I would say that the chef has left the building. I am a chef so speaking from experience.

Over the years the food here has really deteriorated. However a friend and I thought we would try lunch to see if there had been an improvement since our last visit. My friend had chicken curry and I had the salt and pepper squid. The squid came as lumps of tough over cooked batter with a tiny bit of squid inside and looked more like scampi. It was accompanied by a rather tasteless salad which I left. My friend who normally loves curries left most of hers as she said it was so poor. I rather suspect the salt and pepper squid was frozen. Nothing wrong with that but ideally it should be freshly made as it’s so simple and quick to make.

Every year a big crown of us fifty somethings get together for a long weekend of fun at Bognor Regis Butlins. We always find a local pub for a late Sunday lunch and book a table for 16 people. Last year we came here and thought the staff were excellent and the food fine so booked a table at The Fox for this year's trip. If anything we thought the food was better than last year with the lamb roast at £13.95 being on the top end of pub prices but very enjoyable. We did have to choose our menu in advance which is takes a bit of sorting out but then each couple simply went to the bar and paid for the two meals while ordering their drinks.

An interesting historical pub a short walk from the beach at Felpham and dating back to the 1790`s. A good selection of gins [including some local ones] and beers. Very friendly and helpful staff and popular even on a cold mid winter day with local people. A wide selection of meals with on the day we visited 6 specials, which by 2,00 p.m. was reduced to three. Mains are about £14 to £16 and light bites about £7 to £9. I had a local cider, which was good and my wife opted for Guinness. A short wait for our very filling snack with salad, crunchy potato bites and cheese/ tomato/ mushroom mixture on half a speciality bread. It was fresh, well cooked and a good portion size. We ordered coffee but avoid their coffee machine and stick to their filter coffee. My latte was O.K. but my wife's was very weak more like warm milk -she left it and would not let me complain. The only downside of our visit. Interesting history on William Blake too, his house is 2 minutes away.

We only stopped for a quick drink after a New Year's day walk on the beach. We got served quickly and found some seats in the 'extension' area. The staff came over to make sure we were warm. The room was pretty with Christmas decorations but could have done with removal of some cobwebs. The main seating area had good seasonal decor.

This used to be a reward winning pub but appears to have lost its way.A large ice cream freezer has been located in one area which is not in keeping with a country pub and takes up space. The menu selection is not exciting and the taste is bland. If you want a sweet you will have to eat early or be quick as NO food service after 9pm. In the present retail climate it is unlikely that The Fox will survive.

We met our friends for lunch, it was very nice. Clean, spacious pub/restaurant with clean toilets. Service was very good, with a very short wait for our food. Our meals were hot, well cooked and nicely presented. Plenty of choice on the menu. Plenty of free parking. We liked The cross Inn so much, we're coming back in three days time. Recommended

I too visited this pub and was told exactly the same thing. I got 25ml for a single Baileys and everywhere else, a standard measure was 50 ml. Because I thought I’d been short measured, I asked where the other half of my drink was. I was told that it was 25ml instead of the usual 50 ml because the pub wasn’t owned by a brewery and the pub was family run enabling them to charge what they liked!!! My advice... DON’T BOTHER!

Staying in area and having wandered past and seen loads of people thought it would be a good place to eat. Great vibe and very busy. Well worth booking as no room to eat here this time. Food looked really good. Great selection of beers. Proper John and West Sussex beer plus lots of other choices. Live band tuning up. This was the liveliest pub in Felpham.

Visited on Saturday 13th after a long walk on seafront. Had a couple of drinks. Service was prompt, the young lady who served us was pleasant. What I liked about the pub is that there are no televisions or distractions from decent conversation. Although we did not eat on this occasion, there is a great food selection on offer. The toilets are clean, and there is a well kept garden with plenty of seating. They pour a decent pint of Guinness too.

Food not bad BUT Toilets are disgusting - ladies cobwebs galore around pipework. Top of ceramic under the seat absolutely rotten and both hand basins extremely filthy

Staying at the Caravan and Motorhome site just a few minutes walk away. We wanted a late lunch but even though it advertises a menu there was no one there to cook food that day. Lots of locals some with very colourful language. There seemed to be lots of clutter around the place. Would we revisit…unfortunately no.
