The Fox & Hounds in Chichester

Oh what a show! Such a performance to be had. The liver dish and steak pie with lashings of extra moorish gravy were of a standard of a West End Performance together with our delightful young lady hosts. I must see performance for sure.

We always eat here when in the area: excellent food & service! The Camembert & calves liver are our particular favourites

We have eaten here many times and had wonderful food but on Mother’s Day we were really disappointed. Firstly we were a table of 8 squashed in between the toilets in the bar when we expected to be in the restaurant so that was disappointing to begin with. Then when our food arrived it was ok but the roast potatoes were terrible, they were badly over cooked so no fluffy potato inside. Also not sure why stuffing is served with roast beef. I’ve had much better roast dinners here previously so I’m not sure what went wrong. I would also suggest that they tell you when you book that you’re not going to be in the restaurant so you can make a choice whether to book or not. It’s just not pleasant trying to have a family meal in between the ladies and the gents plus not enough room for all the plates on the table when there are 8 of you. Sorry but will think twice before going back for a Sunday lunch.

All I will say is that I hope this pub gets new management in the not too distant future. It is a shame because decor is lovely.
