My partner and I just had dinner for my birthday at The Fox and it was brilliant. The food was really good and great for the price. Our server Andy was really lovely and made us both feel very comfortable. As it was my birthday Andy also came over and gave me a little birthday card from the restaurant and a voucher for a free dessert. This was a really lovely touch and again excellent service from Andy. Will definitely be coming again!

My husband and i visited The Fox for a drink and evening meal after visiting family. We found the menu varied and well priced. The pub itself was clean and well presented. Upon arrival we explained we would like to have a couple of drinks before ordering our meal, Ella a very helpful member of staff provided us with an open tab and found us a seat in the bar area. Once we had ordered food it arrived promptly and it was beautiful, nice and hot. As we were visitors and did not know the area, the staff very kindly helped us book a taxi. All in all a very enjoyable experience, we will be back again for sure. Rebecca and John Thompson

Straight in, served quickly and efficiently. The food was delicious and our waiter was polite, not too overly attentive which i prefer and we didn't feel rushed at all.

Modern pub/ restaurant ideal for families, good value and menu choices, prices to suit all budgets. Games area for kids young and old. Recommended check for offers, discounts kids eat for £1!

Mothers day so booked a late meal for 14.30. Unfortunately had to wait nearly an hour for our food. Didn't mind but no apologies or anything from the wait staff! They knew they were busy so how about organising in advance how many diners can be catered for by the kitchen , instead of cramming in as many tables as possible making the kitchen unable to cope. Other than that, the food was OK quality for price paid and was hot enough when it eventually arrived on the table!

As usual, the staff were very attentive and polite. I didn't catch our servers name (her birthday is 31st March!) but she was very friendly and cheerful, checking in at regular intervals as to the food being OK, more drinks or deserts required etc. 2 beef bourguignon, a curry and a fantastic mega mixed grill cooked to perfection - medium rare steak, juicy chicken breast, running yolk on the fried eggs - all the things that make a great mixed grill! The guys bringing the food were also very polite and cheerful, even when they must be under extreme pressure. Excellent value as always - see you on mother's day!

Our waiter Andy was amazing so happy and helpful went above and beyond! Very polite and gave great advice about the food.

Although we did not book we were told that they were busy but they would be able to fit us in (3 adults) after a short wait as they were expecting a number of bookings. We were anticipating the restaraunt to fill up but at no time was it more than half full, I suspect it was more to do with staff levels than customer numbers. The restaurant is quite spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately there were many items not available which forced us into choosing items we might not otherwise have selected. All three dishes surf and turf, scampi and a burger arrived after a short wait. The problem was the food was cold as were the plates, especially the chips, peas and mushrooms, it was only the main part of dishes that were hot. My rump steak was one of the toughest I have ever encountered and could only be eaten when cut up into small pieces and well chewed. When the waiter came to clear the plates he said we should have told him but he hadn’t ever checked with us during the meal and like most waiting staff managed to move around without making any contact. The final check was discounted to reflect the problem which was welcomed. However with more care the problems should have been avoided. Unfortunately this is not my first experience with this sort of issue with Marston Inns, I wonder why they hide their ownership in small type on the back of the menu on the last line? An underwhelming experience and not one I shall hurry to repeat. Although a different experience they could learn from Wetherspoons on how to serve a decent meal at a decent price and hot.

This was a special treat for my grandson after his athletics training just down the road. Having passed it several times in the preceding weeks, it always looked so bright and welcoming. No disappointment when we walked through the door. Warm and bright and met by very polite and friendly staff. We opted for the Steak Night Special and it was really first class in quality and value-for-money. Service was also extremely good. Will be back again soon and would highly recommend.

Once again, a fantastic Sunday lunch with quick service and good quality food. Mixed grill cooked to perfection with a medium rare steak, others had Sunday roast, lasagne and a mac & cheese. Incredible value for money, with or without a discount voucher! See you again very soon!

Reasonable value for money & service okay. 4 seater table was too small for 4 so we asked to be moved to a bigger table. This did not go down well with the waitress who made me feel bad for asking.

Excellent food and really nice staff, would go again. Only one minor thing, would be nice if cocktails were delivered in cocktail glasses.

I have been here twice in the last month, once with family, the other with friends. The service has been very attentive but not too much. The food has been spot on. The dough balls are lovely!! It was nice and warm inside and a lovely atmosphere! Definitely recommend! I didn't get the name unfortunately, but the lady behind the bar with short brown hair - she is a credit to the team! Very friendly and couldn't have provided better service.

Went to the Fox for dinner this evening with some of my family. Generally speaking this is a reliable choice. The menu is very typical of this style of family pub/restaurant, nothing exciting but reasonable standard fare. Our waitress, Emma, was very personable and joined in the conversation appropriately, service was good with the exception of having to repeat a request for one of our drinks, not, I hasten to add, her fault. Food was delivered in very acceptable time and was exactly as I expected. With a voucher for 30% off main dishes our bill was not exorbitant and we left very satisfied. This has generally been our experience over considerable years of using the restaurant and I would recommend it as a good drop in place for families.

Treat with friends we call family. on 15/11/2023. Three course meal, drinks and coffee. Plenty of choice. Staff service excellent.. did above and beyond. 30% voucher off to!!! Well done. Thank you.

This evening we visited for a birthday meal, we come often and always enjoy our time here however this evening was a massive let down. We were seated at 4.15, we eventually got our first drinks at around 4.40, we were then able to order our food at around 4.50pm. We ordered a second drink at approx 5.15 We were still waiting for our food and drinks at 5.45. We asked at the bar if our order for drinks had definitly been put through, the lady behind the car informed us 'other people have ordered before you and we were in a queue so would have to wait' fair enough had it been said in a pleasant tone but she was very rude and abrupt about it (Deborah I think was her name, which according to your website is a manager, very disappointing customer service from a manager!) we also complained to your wonderful waiter Andy (who had started his shift and taken over our end of the restaurant) we had been waiting a hour and half since entering the restaurant and still not received our food. He had gone to see what was happening at which point the same lady marched over to the table and with the same tone as at the bar just said 'I've checked the tickets and you ordered 42minutes ago' this simply was not true. As she was there our food started to arrive, hunger took over and I couldn't be bothered to address her tone infront of my grandmother and children, needless to say our whole table felt uncomfortable because of her.. I'm not sure if front of house staff should speak to customers so rudely, all it needed was a friendly sorry for the delay! Thankfully for your establishment Andy who really is a shining star was so wonderdul, apologetic and puts the customers back at ease and in a better mood, you should be very grateful to have him!

Stopped in here for lunch with my partner and child. We both had burger and chips and my child had sausage and child. Had to be the best meal we've had out in ages. The fries were amazing! Hot food and quick service.
