Great place with a nicr variety of drinks on tap. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere

***UPDATE**** NOT A FAKE REVIEW. I USED TO GO IN THIS PUB ALL THE TIME WHEN I LIVED IN THE AREA. I THEN MOVED OUT OF THE AREA SO IT WAS NO LONGER MY LOCAL, BUT STILL WENT IN AFTER THIS OWNER TOOK OVER WHEN CAME TO VISIT FAMILY. SO YES I HAVE BEEN IN THIS PUB MANY TIMES BEFORE AND AFTER THIS OWNER TOOK OVER. I DIDNT LIKE THE NEW OWNER, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE INCIDENT BELOW, SO STOPPED COMING IN. PLUS IT TOOK 7 YEARS FOR THE OWNER TO EVEN REPLY TO THE REVIEW! Not a very friendly pub. Says dog friendly but only when customers go in dressed and acting like dogs and then taking photos and sending them to the people who they complained about taking dogs in the night before. Landlord included just to bully them. These are loyal customers who have been going into the pub with the dogs for many years with no problem, even before the current landlord took over and when they started getting complaints, left in order to keep the peace. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from anyone and certainly not expected from someone who claims he runs a friendly pub when he acts and allows his customers to act like that. The Four Horseshoes has gone really downhill from when Diane ran it. Was in there every week until i moved just before she left. Now i wont go near if that is how they treat their customers!

Got told to leave as am asain and made other customer feel uncomfortable. This is the first time i have experienced growing up in the area. I would not recommend going there at all.

Lovely atmosphere, food and people

A solid, true local public house. Went to see a TetleyJack gig (aka Jamie Hulley) and it was very hospitable and welcoming. Staff were attentive and the felliw customers, friendly . Guinness well kept. Ales as well. All the best to them !

Spotted this place from the canal path so I needed a place to keep dry and sort my thirst out but a very pleasant place indeed

Decent decor inside, a few draught ales. Pool and darts etc Shame the windows are greyed out and don't allow you to see the place is open.

Quiet pub on the 3 occasions iv been there. Staff pleasant enough and plenty of seating outside.

Went in on a Saturday night, good karaoke.

My friend and I had taken my dog for an epic four hour walk and all three of us were ready for a drink and a rest! The Four Horseshoes happened to be at the end of the walk so we thought we would give it a try. The woman on the bar when we arrived was very friendly and later came over to have a fuss over my dog, which always makes people go up in my estimations! When she finished her shift the woman who had taken over did the same thing. We chatted about her new puppy and she made my friend and I feel very welcome. There was a lovely wood burner going which made the place feel cosy & although there weren't too many people in, the place felt friendly. If my friend and I are in the area again, we would be more than happy to return to The Four Horseshoes!

Friendly staff and cosy atmosphere, live music almost every weekend, pool table and dart competitions, decent selection of draught and bottled beverages. All in all a really nice local pub.

Classic old fashioned pub. If you are looking for a place to grab a quiet pint, watch the footy and chill - perfect. Although warning.... they DO NOT have FREEBIRD on the jukebox... :(

My local pub, friendly, quiet,lively, something for everyone. Even dog friendly. They have live music, comedy nights and live sports on TV. I go with my little dog when I can. The landlord is doing a great job in difficult and challenging times. Recommended.

Since this pub was taken over a few months ago things have changed for the better new decor better service and atmosphere. You are now welcomed and feel relaxed
