Popped into town for a few bits fancied coffee and came across this hidden gem. The old Virgin music store is now a lovely bistro / cafe sharing the space with the post office at the back. Brilliant idea. There is something for everyone on the menu - mowe had continental croissant and desi omelettes....just beautiful. Definitely worth a visit even if its just for a coffee - lovely space to relax in. Will come back.

Popped in for a coffee and then saw the fresh food. Best bhaji I ever had! So glad we popped in. Excellent value.

I visit here regularly with my wife and the food is absolutely top notch, the curries being better that any we've had in the local restaurants. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and the prices are very reasonable indeed. Top place!

Nice, quiet atmosphere and lovely decor and seating. You almost forget it is at the front of a post office. Although most of the options on the menu were either not available or they were all out, we still managed to have a pleasant meal. There seemed to be a few teething problems but i assume it was due to the fact that this place has recently just opened. We ordered the chicken tikka roti boti and a chicken lasagne which were both delicious. The young boy working at the till was very friendly and polite and tried to accommodate for the lack of options available. Will give it a go again in a few weeks to see if things have further improved.

Had to us the post office which is oddly located at the back of this place. Thought I’d treat myself to some Desi breakfast and an Indian tea expecting to be served a fresh Desi Chai and Desi omelette Along the the same standards as chaaiwalla. The omelette was supposed to have Asian spices with a side of slaw what I ended up with as you can see from the pics was a flat tasteless omelette with 4 pieces of toast and a cup of tea made from a sachet. At the end of attempting to eat my meal I decided to speak with a member of staff who was rude and said that’s how the omelette should taste. Paid £6.55 for 1/2 a cup of tea and 3 pieces of toast. Save your money and get a pasty from the £1 bakery across the road.

My friend and I often dine out in Huddersfield. We like a bargain and of course good quality food. The quantity was superb in comparison to the price. It’s a must try, and of course we shall return.

We called in here today for early lunch, only to be told that the best choice for us would be a breakfast....not sure why. Any way we ordered, with a portion of beans and sausages for my six year old. At no point were we told that the breakfast sausages had chilli in them and were very spicy. And certainly not appealing to a small child. The tablespoon of beans had a garnish of cress....yep, you read that right....the beans had a garnish of cress, on a breakfast 😂😱 I now now how near impossible it is to pick cress out of bean juice. The meal took about 25 mins to come, way too long. The waiter was friendly until I commented that maybe mentioning the sausages were spicy would be a good thing if it was for a child, after that he wasn’t that chatty. He was exceptionally keen for us to leave a review, but before the meal arrived. I love to support independent business, but just won’t be going back ever. A very very bizarre meal and experience. Just odd. And cress.....on beans....I still can’t get my head round that.

Roti 3 rice you get chicken, lamb and vegetable or daal curry all freshly made authentic flavours. You can request any formation of the 3 curries for the offer. Ask for a loyalty card which is the 3 and rice for £4.75 you honestly cannot get better quality or price anywhere else. Keep up the good work guys. Only negative is it closes at 5.30.

Me and my family eat out most weekends and are usually disappointed with what we end up having but today we were all left really happy and with plenty money still in our pockets. We all ordered the 3 curries (desk style) with rice or roti which consisted of lamb on the bone, chicken on the bone & a cabbage curry. If you like authentic spicy curry you’ll love this place. All 3 were so tasty and left you wanting more, portion size for lunch was spot on. Usual price is £5.95 but the staff gave us a flier with 15% off which brought each meal down to £5. 20% discount for students,NHS & Kirklees. For dessert we shared a piece of the red velvet cheesecake which is a must if you visit. This place is more cafe than restaurant with the post office situated at the back we sat in a booth & didn’t notice any disturbance from this. As for people walking past to use these facilities it is only like any other fast food establishment you visit. Only negative the toilets situated at the back of the post office have no hand wash or paper towels/hand dryer. Looking forward to my next visit .

This is the worst place I have ever eaten in my life. Would not recommend to anyone. Lunch amounted to £30 for two adults and a 1 year old as we were charged full price for a children’s meal as apparently they don’t do them even though they have high chairs. I was pressured into buying 2 slices of cake that I didn’t even want. And then when the cake arrived only one slice came. I mentioned that I thought I’d ordered two slices of cake and he replied “Do you think, or do you know?” Just very rude. It felt as if you were being watched all the time by waiters, which made us very uncomfortable. The staff were rude to a young man who worked there who was frankly the only hope this place had. I had lasagne which was very oily and the pasta sheets weren’t cooked correctly. My sister had a ‘Spanish Chicken Burger’ which was actually chicken tikka, a detail that wasn’t not mentioned on the menu. Seriously don’t bother trying, horrendous food and even worse atmosphere.

We arrived without a booking and after a couple of minutes we were shown to our table and handed menus. Unfortunately after that, we were left around 15-20 minutes and nobody came to take our order. Eventually we got drinks thank goodness but then the food must have been another half an hour before it arrived. My husband and I ordered turkish eggs and it was nice but all 4 eggs (my husband's and mind) were all over cooked. I wouldnt go if you are in a rush to be honest, it took almost an hour and a half from start to finish.

The food has changed from traditional food your gammon and chips, fish and chips etc to trying to compare with bao buns at the Riverhead, sorry no contest. The pub smells of wet dogs particularly around the fire and the sofas and been bitten there. Not in a rush to go back .

Visited many times before lockdown. Decided to visit after an afternoon show at the Grand. This visit very poor. 4 of us.1 Starter of bread took 45 minutes to arrive. Mains 90 minutes. Asked what was happening. Short staffed. The Take Away people were in and out of the door whilst we were sat there twiddling our thumbs. Food was ok when it arrived. The waitress was apologetic and sorted a bottle of wine on the house. Sorry guys but that’s the last time we will be visiting.
