Food ok but the waiter was really miserable and unpleasant the lady behind the bar was really nice.

Great little village pub with really good Thai food.

Have passed by here and came in to try for the first time today. The food is amazing!! I had the Penang Curry with Egg Fried Rice and a Roti, it’s was really creamy and had great balance through the flavours, also had the prawn toast which is flavourful, topped off with a nice Amstel. Not many Thai places in and around the area but this probably tops the lot! (ceilings are low, if you’re over 6ft might have to crouch a little)

Read a few reviews before hand and decided to ignore some of them and return here. Price. Not sure why some people had an issue over cost? Compare it to a burger van in a layby and it is more expensive. Compare with similar establishments and it is at a slightly lower cost. Service. Service was fine. Friendly and efficient staff. Food was served reasonably quickly. Well presented, fresh and tasty (1 Thai dish + 1 roast ordered). Overall for service and food I would recommend the Four Horseshoes and we will return in the near future.

Made a pub stopover in the campervan. Great Thai cuisine and beer. Quite village area, off the main road and a reasonable sized carpark. Might be a bit tight for a full motorhome.

A warm welcome and great food, either Thai or English, great local pub.

My mother and father in law went for Sunday lunch and the pub was cold that everyone in there was wearing their coats , food was awful and £6 for a glass of wine, they were very disappointed and said they would never go back again

Went here for a belated birthday meal based on the reviews we'd seen. On first entering I was a bit taken back by the very basic sparse decoration but was warmly greeted and shown to our table. Ordered some dinks while we viewed the menus and all decided to go with the Thai options, starters arrived after 5 or 10 minutes and looked very well presented and on tasting they lived up to expectations. Mains were served shortly after starters and again were all well presented and tasted delicious, all in all some of the best Thai\oriental food we've had and would definitely recommend.

I’m a wheelchair user and none of the entrance doors were wide enough to get through. The member of staff I saw tried to help but all the doors were too narrow. The lady who booked had asked if it was wheelchair friendly and had been told that it was.

Good food, some items a bit pricey though. Everyone seems kind and helpful. The waiting times can be long sometimes. I didn’t appreciate that dogs are allowed inside and can get quite close to food. Nothing against dogs but I prefer not to be sniffed or twitch at every bark while having my dinner

Nice alternative to the other village pub. Nice seating area outside. On this visit, there was not a bunch of blokes cursing and swearing 👍. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff were friendly.

Visited on a Thursday evening there being ten of us. The experienced lady at the bar was very welcoming, engaging, helpful and wearing a warm personality with the young lady equally good in service and approach. Now the drinks - a wide variety of beers, lagers, wines, ciders & other hard drinks. Finally the food - out of this world!!!!! Can’t praise enough but I will try 😊. The corn cakes, thai curries, chips, coconut and egg fried rice are most delicious. Worth every penny, we will return again no doubt.

Very few people in on a Saturday evening so we thought we'd have a quick service. Waited for our meal for ages. In the end had to ask what the delay was. The pub was basically run by three youngsters who were just chatting away and not interested in customers. Finally got our food. Pad Thai was lacking any taste and this is quite a simple dish (no peanuts, lime etc usual bits). Will not be going back to this pub. Ever again.

The Thai food in the pub is amazing and the best we have had for a long time. It’s great to have such a good take away locally. It’s a shame that inside the pub the lighting is not very conducive to a good atmosphere, especially in the back room. Well done chef👏

Very good local and not only pub restaurant. I enjoyed many nights out. Inside and outside offers very good food and drinks. It provides various entertainment ranging between boardgames, sports events on a projector, music and friendly personnel. Well located just outside a city centre and the main road it can be reached easily from Basingstoke, Reading and the surrounding areas. An option is also public transportation via bus, but during the day only. Definitely suggested. I'd like to go back and have some fun.

Not the greatest place I have eaten. Food was edible but funny thing is I was with our friend who will literally eat anything but did struggle here to eat his Sunday roast ;my husband dinner never turned up and mine, well let's say I won't be rushing back. shame nice location. Had takeaway Thai food last night and it was absolutely fantastic. This pub is only 5 minutes from my front door and I have been meaning to give it a try for ages, and now it will become a regular 'go to'. The Thai food is very authentic, except for being toned down on the heat , as compared to the same dishes served in Thailand. I have absolutely no issue with this as it makes the food enjoyable to people who don't have a good tolerance for spice, and you can ask then to increase the heat if you want that authentic Thai spice. What makes the Thai food here exceptional is the use of fresh Thai herbs, and an understanding of the balance of flavors that make authentic Thai food so wonderful. We will certainly be going back for more, often!

This is a great pub. The Sunday roasts, the massaman curry and the panang curry were excellent and the service was exceptional; every member of staff treated us so kindly, they were all very attentive and helpful. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Banging. We had the tempura prawns to start. I had the steak and ale pie and my Mrs had the katsu curry. Both meals were very filling

Food is not great and there is no ambience. The White Hart across the road is far better value.

We found out about the Four Horseshoes when we got a couple of Thai takeaways during lockdown. It's been so nice to be able to go out at last, so my girlfriend and I decided to have lunch there last week. The place was very busy, the food was delicious and the service really friendly. Looking forward to going there again soon when things will be nearly back to normal.

We came here after enjoying a fantastic meal in February 2020 (pre-covid). Today four of us went for Sunday lunch at 1pm. Ordered 3 nut roasts and 1 fish and chips. After waiting well over an hour, the food arrived. The fish and chips were very good but the 3 nut roasts consisted of very bland deep fried vegetable patties which is NOT nut roast. These were accompanied with undercooked vegetables and potatoes! We then waited a further hour to have our desert orders taken and another hour for them to arrive. The deserts were unremarkable but the topping on the apple crumble was very unpleasant and inedible. On leaving the pub, we noticed other people appeared to be having 'proper' nut roast meals served to them which left us wondering what on earth we were given to eat? We had two courses, 2 rounds of drinks and this took three and a half hours! The young waiters were wonderful but continuously apologetic for the delays and we were offered 10% discount (without any complaining). This is such a lovely pub and I hope that the management get their house in order soon or will lose more custom. Sadly we won't be returning any time soon.

We arranged a post lockdown meet up with my parents, who I had not seen in person since the previous October and after a lovely time at a nearby National Trust location, we headed to Sherfield On Loddon for a meal at the Four Horseshoes. The waiting staff were attentive, without being over bearing and the food was delicious. The COVID 19 regulations did not inhibit the enjoyment of the experience and the signage to and from the toilets inside were straight forward to follow. Very satisfactory first meal out again.

Despite being fairly local to The Four Horseshoes we hadn't visited recently. After noticing that during the current restrictions they were offering a takeaway service, we thought we really should give the Thai menu a try. All I can say is why did we wait so long? Service was good and so was the food. A good balance between the flavours and the spice. Looking forward to a return visit and when we are able having drinks and food 'in house'

Fantastic Thai takeaway. Really delicious. They were very clear on what I could have that was gluten free. Also felt it was very reasonably priced. Wishing the new owners lots of success with their new venture.

Take away meals are normally not quite as good as those eaten freshly in a restaurant, but not in this case - the meal was as fresh and as good as if it had been cooked next to our table. Tempura prawns to die for! Best beef chili I have eaten and even my wife's red veggie curry was great.Would recommend it to anyone.
