My partner and I call in here at least three times a week and I feel it's one of the nicest, safest places to drink. The landlady always greets you with a smile and the beer is excellent. I would recommend this pub to anyone.

I don't know who thinks this is a horrible place but my experience is very different. You're always welcome by the staff and of course Dee. The customers are always chatty and happy to talk. Cute dogs, friendly people and nice beer. What more could you want?

Horrible landlady , did nothing as a bunch of lads verbslly abused us , didnt want to know as they spent alot of money in her pub. Same old story with this place filled with drug takers and thugs. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

. . sólo hay un lugar que se registro.

We were on a bit of a session and we all had preconceptions about this pub. Whenever you drive past there are smokes in the doorway, the interior looks dark and forbidding and it wouldn't be an obvious choice. So we confronted our preconceptions and gave it a go. We were made very welcome, the football was on the telly, the beer was tasty, the place was a bit rough and ready around the edges but it was a more than pleasant place to have a pint - and Thursday night is 'free pool' night. Not an obvious choice but definitively worth a try

I order afternoon tea delivered to my elderly parent home as a treat. What arrived was a box of cakes - that's it for about £34 (can't remember the exact cost but that doesn't matter. No sandwiches, no pastries - just cakes! Granted, enough of them to make 2 people feel sick. Phoned and complained but got a 'that's what it is' response. Was told the owner would ring me but predictably she didn't. Anywhere that has as many negative ratings as good ones sends out a warning, pity I didn't see them before ordering.

We celebrated my parents 60th wedding anniversary here last night and I was very impressed with the service we received. We had a side room to ourselves for 20 people, we all had a main meal, which was brought out quickly and was piping hot and very good. The steak pie was delicious). The staff were friendly and attentive and the whole evening ran smoothly due to this. Thank you to the staff for making it so special.

Nice venue, great food, great service, great selection of drinks and very nicely decorated. My only criticism is the aroma in the gents toilets, apart from that, well worth a visit.

Ideal historic venue for breakfast from the traditional Wetherspoon's wide choice. All excellent value, served by friendly and efficient staff. Toilets were spotless, and the whole place is a real asst to the town (as it has been for 110 years).
