My wife and I satyed here for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it. The staff where all incredible friendly, rooms where huge and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food in the evening was lovely and the breakfast was just as good. certainly would recommend to anybody in the area to stay here, you will not be disappointed. We will be back, thank you for such a lovely few days away.

Called in for dinner on the fly as we hadn’t booked . Hadn’t been since pre covid . So glad we did . The food was fabulous and reasonably priced . Service was spot on . We will be back Recommended

After visiting previously on a few occasions and having good food, we returned for a special family celebration for a Golden wedding Anniversary. It was very disappointing! 2meals out of the 7 were edible, being the mixed grill however chips were cold, And the lamb shank was the only meal hot. 2 of the meals were children's meals. 2 Meals were returned due to a sad looking side salad fit for the bin, plus temperature of the food wasn't acceptable. Another family member was put off by the salad. One dish was warmed up upon return, however it still wasn't 'fresh and warm' chips and potatoes were cold, peas were cold. Fish was soggy and greasy. It ruined the whole experience! We were offered complimentary dessert, however our meal had been ruined and we didn't want to experience further disappointment. At checkout a different member of staff, who had just started their shift and smelled like a dirty ashtray!!!! offered 20% off the bill once we had explained our dissatisfaction. We asked if there was an issue in the kitchen and we were told the chef was a trainee. She also said she hoped we would return, to which I replied that would not be the case! She turned rude and sarcastic. A truly disappointing experience and a special celebratory meal ruined . We will definitely not return in the future.

Stayed a couple of nights for a family funeral recently. Great choice. Lovely hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff, very comfortable and well appointed rooms. Food, both breakfast and evening meals, were excellent. Plenty of parking space and ideally sited for access to local towns and the coast. Would definitely visit again. Many thanks.

This is spot on if u calling for a drink lovely staff and nice clean pub owners are around for a chat didnt have food as we didn't have time next time we go pass and got time we will pop in for some food

Thursday evening, warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Good gluten free options. Vegetarian option was delicious. Service was excellent very friendly staff, a lovely place to dine out.

The food here was absolutely outstanding! This place is truly a hidden gem that we’re thrilled to have discovered. Every dish was delicious, and the overall dining experience exceeded our expectations. The beer garden is an added bonus, providing a beautiful and relaxing setting to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or special occasion. We were thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to return. This is definitely a place worth visiting again and again!

Wow amazing food. Hadn’t booked and were so lucky to get a walk in. I had lasagne which was beautiful. Garlic bread lovely with extra onion rings. Dessert was insane!! Would really recommend. Nice atmosphere nice and clean. Fantastic meal thanks to all.

Fabulous lunch , went with my Mum who is 87 the waitress was excellent really helped my mother in fact she even helped her cut her meat as she has arthritis in her hands so she sometimes finds things like that difficult. The meal was very tasty and plenty of food we found what we had good value, they have an excellent choice on their menu with all different price ranges, will definitely go again .

Bit harsh turning off the road and trying to find a parking place but the actual building was done out nice and the food I had in a buffet style was really nice. I didn't buy a drink at the bar so can't comment on the prices.

We visited with a large group of 16, and from start to finish, the evening was seamless, thanks to the exceptional staff and the great food. Firstly, the staff were simply amazing. Coordinating a large table can be challenging, but the team at The Fountain Inn handled it with grace and efficiency (splitting the table into groups of A,B,C and D. was genius). Every request was met with a smile, and their attention to detail was evident throughout the evening. They ensured that our glasses were always filled, and any special dietary needs were accommodated without fuss. Their friendliness and professionalism made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for. The food was equally impressive. Despite the challenge of serving a large group, every dish arrived hot, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. The menu offered a variety of options, and each one was executed to perfection. From the starters to the desserts, every course was a testament to the chef’s skill and creativity. It’s rare to find a place that can maintain such high standards with a large group, but The Fountain Inn exceeded our expectations. A special mention must go to the ambiance as well. For the price , rooms were basic Toilet seat broke . Bed was old and linen marked . Restaurant did not cater for non dairy requirements Disappointed

We stayed & ate. Room was clean & tidy, good amenities with breakfast included in the price. Evening meal was delicious, no complaints!

Amazing service and top class staff. We were booked in to stay for the night and for dinner. We were late as we were out walking and got lost. By the time we arrived the kitchen had closed. No worries said the staff, and they absolutely sorted us out. Before we knew it, 3 plates of food were on our table with pints in hand. After a few glasses of wine, we were shown to our room The staff here were amazing, they went completely above and beyond. Really personable, a good laugh and made us felt really looked after. I cant remember their names but it was 2 women and we stayed on the 8th of May. Complete assets to the business. Diolch

Staff were friendly, food was lovely and reasonably priced. My only slight disappointment was that the cockles didn’t really come with laverbread, was more like a white wine sauce that mussels tend to come in. But that’s my fault for not reading the description properly & I should’ve asked the waitress! Was still nice though :)

Absolutely lovely stay at the fountain in, welcomed by staff upon arrival and due to being a Monday night (restaurant closed), advised on the best local curry house which did not disappoint! Breakfast each morning has been superb and look forward to returning in the future.

My fiance and visited for lunch after a day out at the local garden centre and we were delighted with the amazing customer service we were given by the wonderful Elena (I hope I am spelling it right). I have a few dietary requirements and she went above and beyond. The food was lovely and we've been talking about how good it was ever since. I have never been to this restaurant before as I am rarely up this side of Swansea but we will definitely be visiting again in the future. Thanks Elena!

Large & very clean room for 3 adults. Staff lovely and very accommodating. Put in extra effort to get us veggie sausages after they noticed we had selected no meat on our breakfast. Great price overall had a lovely stay

We called in on a Wednesday on the off chance. They had just one table free for us. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was delicious - Chicken Teryaki and soup as 2 starters, then delicious home made pies for main course. The food was all perfect and delicious and as we were travelling we were delighted to be in and out in 40 minutes. The place was full of families and friends enjoying a leisurely evening. We’ll pass and call again.

We went there for a birthday party. The staff were extremely friendly and went put of their way to make us all feel at home, happy and comfortable. They went above and beyond. My son personally told them that they deserve a 5 star rating!

Very disappointing meal and it was only lasagne and garlic bread and I chose saute potatoes, only to receive boiled potatoes. I questioned the potatoes and was told that they were saute, but they had to go back to the kitchen as they were hard and not cooked thoroughly. Needless to say when my food returned to the table the remaining food was cold and the potatoes burnt on top. Wil not be returning.

Great food, lovely atmosphere and the gluten free apple pie was soooo nice. I highly recommend a visit.

A lovely atmosphere in this village pub. The food was delicious, everything spotless great service too boot. My only bug bear is music playing too loudly. Why oh why do pubs do this? That being said I'd definitely return.

First time visiting and I thought it was fantastic!! We were a party of 16, which often causes problems for the kitchen, but not here. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious (served piping hot and not in the re-heated sense you often get) and the price was more reasonable. I would definitely recommend it and we'll certainly be visiting again. Thankyou for a lovely lunch!!

Lovely pub offering a menu above the standard pub food offerings. Friendly service and lovely seating area, atmosphere. Would advise booking a table as it's always quite busy. Prices very reasonable for the food quality, only downside is the car park situated at the rear, which is accessed by a narrow driveway.

We visited the restaurant for a meal on a Thursday evening. The restaurant area was very clean, staff were lovely and the food was fantastic! The portions were generous and freshly prepared. Service was quick. We will definitely be back! A great place with fantastic food!!

5* staff. 5* service. 5* delicious Sunday lunch. Easy to reserve a table online. Plenty of choice on the menu, arrived promptly, piping hot and all for a reasonable price. We had two courses, unfortunately no room for dessert but have visited The Fountain before and have had a delicious choice of desserts. The best Sunday lunch we’ve had in a long time.

Lovely place for lunch with kids. Not fancy but good quality and absolutely immaculately clean and well-maintained. They obviously take a great deal of pride in both the place and the service they provide.

Lovely friendly staff and good hearty food - what more could you want! The ice cream is a must-try.

The Fountain Inn in Pontardulais is a exceptional hotel which offers very high quality accommodation with the best breakfast I have ever seen in south Wales. The staff are all very friendly and more than helpful in every way. Parking is free and very convenient to the hotel, so all in all I highly recommend this hotel.

Visited here whilst on holiday last week and had a great time. Very good gluten free and vegetarian options for 2 of our party members. All food was plentiful, hot and tasty. Pork belly was one of the best we've had! Staff were friendly and service quick. Would definitely recommend.

Another Sunday lunch at the Fountain for my elderly family, The food seams to be a bit hit and miss and this time it’s a miss. The roast lamb was the choice of most of the family sadly to say it was very tuff although it’s charged extra for. The veg was not cooked to our liking. Sorry to say it was a miss this time !!!

Myself and my wife visited The Fountain Inn last month during lunchtime and I can only say that it was brilliant. The food was exceptional and the portions generous but the best part was the excellent customer service. Mel the waitress was extremely sociable and inviting. She was well informed about the menu choices and genuinely cared about us as customers. She deserves a raise! The service was efficient and friendly. I had a delicious burger whilst my wife had an aubergine vegan dish. Both were exemplary. We will definitely be returning.

The Fountain Inn serves wonderfully tasty meals in a comfortable setting. I had the local fish special and my had wife mushroom and spinach pasta... and both meals were delicious. The service was timely and the hostess and waitress were conversationally entertaining.

My wife and I stayed for two nights at the Fountain and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is well located, attractive, comfortable, spacious and extremely well managed. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced and the staff are uniformly friendly, helpful and good-humoured. Our stay was in October 2020 - during the Covid semi-lockdown period - and we were impressed by how efficiently the restrictions were handled and how little they were allowed to disrupt or impede our activities. A really memorable weekend - highly recommended on every count! We will certainly be repeating the experience as soon as we can.

After having our wedding cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, we chose to go to the fountain inn to celebrate and have our first meal as a married couple. They were absolutely amazing! The table was decorated for us at their expense, flowers and a bottle prosecco waiting for us, it was so relaxed. Its not what you imagine when you plan your wedding, but in light of the situation everything was made so much better by the staff and service. Thank you to the managers Dave and Charlotte, and a special shout out to our waiter on the day, Nick!

Recently came across this little gem on a day out in Wales and were traveling home. In light of the current situation I think they did a wonderful job in ensuring customers and staff felt safe with their Covid procedures. Elena ( I think was the lady’s name )was wonderful throughout. Warm welcome and excellent service We had the fajitas and steak which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Was hoping to try a pud but were so full I had to give it a miss - now have an excuse to go back well done to all

My wife and I have just returned home having spent a week in this place which is ideally located for access to The Gower Peninsula, Pembrokeshire Coast and The Brecon Beacons and we did all three with ease.Previous reviews barely do it justice as from the moment we arrived the attention to detail was second to none with temperture checks and a signing in log for everyone entering the premises and sanitiser dispensers at the entrance and around the building.Our room was spotless and maintained daily during our stay and a comfortable bed made for a great nights sleep.The restaurant had solid partition screens between each table and the quality of the food be it breakfast or the excellent Sunday Lunch or extensive dinner menu was all of a very high standard.But what really sets this place apart are the staff who were the most cheerful, friendly and helpful team you could ask for.We highly recommend The Fountain Inn be it for a Staycation or just to treat yourself to a really good meal.

Greatly enjoyed the experience and the cleanliness spot on everywhere within and out of the building. Battered Chicken to start and Beer Battered Fish for main both of my meals were faultless for my taste and presentation great. Lovely restaurant to come to with friends or family.

We visited on Thursday evening, 20th of August and had a great experience. We had the wrapped chicken in leek and cheese sauce and the lasagne for mains and both dishes were excellent. Food was tasty, well presented and ample portion size.We also shared a starter and dessert; again both very high quality. This was our first time at the Fountain for a number of years but can see it becoming a regular and first choice for eating out. Superb all around.

Our fav restaurant and we are so happy to be back after COVID. Our Waitress Jordan was so polite and helpful. We witnessed another table be very rude (behind the new screens they have in place for safety) - myself and partner were so shocked. We stared at each other with mouths open at the rudeness of the customer but I must say Jordan handled herself wonderfully and so polite. I just want to say thank you for the service. The meal was soooo worth the wait through lock down. Food was great and the service was also! Thank you so much. Hope you are all safe and well. I also want to say the safety steps you have taken for staff and customers are incredible. Sorry I don’t have any pictures of the good but we were too excited. Visited the Fountain Inn Pontardulais with my husband today. We were more than impressed with the social distancing measures that they had in place. After visiting another restaurant last week it was clear that every measure possible had been put in place to secure the safety of both staff and customers! One way system, plenty of hand sanitizers, screens used as room dividers, they’d even measured 2m with the outdoor seating area. If you want somewhere to go for beautiful food served by staff that can’t do enough for you, with peace of mind that your safety comes first, then The Fountain Inn Pontardulais is the place to go.

Prices have gone up considerably since last visit. There was a general consensus of opinion that the prices were over inflated for a lunch time meal, despite the 50% August offer. The battered fish was very well done which meant it was dry and chewy.

Excellent night out for my wife’s birthday. So much respect for all the hard work that has gone into making both staff and customers as safe as we can be. And so very good to be back! Highly recommended!

Had a great lunch inside on Wednesday, two couples together but socially distancing. The distancing measures worked really well, our food was excellent as usual. Even wearing PPE, the staff were so friendly and helpful, we all enjoyed our visit so much. Looking forward to our next booking

What an amazing night. Food and staff were on point especially elise and nick who was our waitress and waiter.. Food was more than enough and was utterly amazing.. And nice to see that they are goin by rules to keep the business goin. Will definitely be goin again.

Have been here a few times, first time was fab but the past 2 times not so good, probably won’t go again. Ordered the beef brisket and was very clear it has been cooked, frozen and reheated. Such a shame that the food quality has dropped when the pub is very nice. Must be difficult competing with the lovely pubs in the local area.

Went on web site to confirm set lunch at £9.95. Arrived at Inn to discover that price had increased to £11.95 a 20% increase. Whilst we enjoyed the lunch, service was good we nevertheless feel that the price hike could not be justified. Other places nearby are offering better value for money.

Average - nothing moreCalled in for a meal as hoc; and had high expectations due to recent reviews and the number of awards in show in the dining area. The pub itself is modern and spotless. Ordered a chicken breast in leek sauce forme and 10oz gammon for my daughter. Mine was average at best. Small breast of chicken with a watery tasteless sauce. The salad had obviously been standing for some time as it was ‘yellowing’ , however the home cut chips were good.Daughter’s gammon was a good size but was slightly over cooked and over blackened in parts.One of those meals that are not good, yet not bad enough to sent back. A pint of Stella and coke brought the bill to over £33 so not cheap. Overall we were disappointed !

We booked the restaurant part of the pub on a Saturday night expecting it to be busy and service likely to be a little slower, but not a bit of it.Staff were really friendly throughout and service quick but at our pace.We ordered from the main menu but specials were available. The food was hot and well presented with plenty of veg and choice of potatoes and delicious We chose house red which was great.Value for money -yes Will be heading back again and using the outside space in the summerYou can also stay in B&B style accommodation with on site parking.

Spent all day at the Fountain watching rugby in peaceful snug great staff couldnt be more helpful and lovely evening meal beers very nice as well
