Mediterranean in Swansea

Recently I took a trip to Istanbul. It was a beautiful city but I could hardly wait until I could go back to Mumbles and have some real authentic Turkish cooking at the Mediterranean! It was truly better than any place I ate at in Turkey. Every dish is fresh, perfectly cooked tasty. Murat is the perfect host. His staff is outstanding. It is truly the best dining experience in the Gower.

Attentive service. Food disappointing unfortunately. Prawn starter had tiny prawns on a bed of onion/peppers. Sujuk sausage starter...on a bed of fried onion/peppers. My chicken shish was average, came with a fresh side of pickled cabbage/carrot. But it was expensive for what it was. I could have a delicious feast at my local Turkish in London for the same price!

Stayed in Mumbles for one night in a hotel behind this restaurant. As it was the start of the school summer holidays I decided to book somewhere to eat in case it was busy. Looked online and liked the sound of this place so booked well in advance. It certainly did not disappoint. I am glad I did book as the restaurant was not massive but very busy which is always a good sign. When we arrived at the hotel we found that they recommended this restaurant in their literature in the room. We could see the back of this restaurant and could smell all the lovely aroma’s from the food being cooked. Although the restaurant was small there was lots to choose from on the menu. Staff very polite, attentive , knowledgeable and helpful. My partner wanted some of the starters as her main which was fine and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious, very tasty and reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend and will go back again some time.

What a great find, in Mumbles. We have walked past many times but never eaten there. So glad we did though. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the wine was superb. Thank you for a delicious meal. We will be back.

Excellent Turkish restaurant offering a great selection of dishes cooked in a central grill area in the middle of the restaurant. Great manager, staff and cook. Large servings and reasonably priced Alcohol.

Very bad customer service and didn't like atmosphere 😒. We need to wait a long time to bring food for us. Waitress was a blonde English girl and couldn't provide a good service, and I don't recommend it here at all .

Highly recommended. Our go-to takeaway when in Mumbles along W The Golden Curry. The owner is Turkish. They serve the freshest home made food around. Nothing from the freezer here. We had a huge family takeaway on a Friday. We phoned it through and collected it ourselves. It was ready at the exact time they said, no waiting even though the restaurant was full. Order at least 1/2 hour before u need it. Much sooner if peak season or a large order. All staff very friendly. With request everything is clearly labelled on lids whether gluten free. Thankyou. Must take photos next time.

Great service, the food was on spot 👌. The lamb chops and the chef recommended was the Adana, both we highly recommend

Second visit to the restaurant and did not disappoint in any way - food superb,service outstanding/ our London visitors were very impressed and rated the experience as good if not better than they are well used to - will certainly go again!

The best dining experience in SW Wales. The menu is sublime, the food is outstandingly fresh and prepared. The price is very competitive. For the same price as two burgers and chips you can have a lovely two course dinner for two.

First visit food is tremendous my wife already wants to come back and the service although very informal was top book.

Had a decent time with my wife and 2.9 year old on holiday in Mumbles. We went for diner at 6:30. Nice to see the food cooked in front of us. Authentic Turkish dishes with the tenderest meat you’ve ever tasted. Large selection of dishes to choose from and most have salad sides, rice, and flatbread included. No kids menu but we shared our generous mains with our child. Took away the leftovers in the end and they were tasty for lunch the day after x

Ordered a platter, which was meant for 2 people, but was just about enough for one perosn, hardly any meat but was full of grated carrot and grated cabbage. The meat was tasty though. Just did soft drinks no non alcoholic mocktails or milkshakes. No kids menus or chips.

I love this place! I recommend booking as it can get quite busy. The best Mediterranean food in swansea easily. You get to see them cooking your food aswell which adds that great atmosphere to it, staff are friendly and food is served at a reasonable price!!!

Called in without a reservation & luckily got a table straight away. Friendly service, amazing food & lovely atmosphere. The rosé was great too! Highly recommended. Will be back for sure 5⭐

Amazing. Beautiful food and excellent service

Fantastic food but bit expensive. The lentil soup was delicious as were the kebabs and mushroom dish, although the veg kebab was a lot of vegetables baked in a tray with tomato sauce. It was nice but different. My daughter enjoyed her lamb kebabs. The salads were very nice. The food was sumptuous. All in all a good experience but came to about £30 per head without wine which is a bit on the higher side. But we had the place all to ourselves and the food was freshly cooked not something come out of a freezer

Getting a little expensive, but the food is really good.

🇹🇷🍴🍢Some of the lads from Grub Talks visited the Mediterranean in mumbles on a Thursday night and it was great. The venue and menu style is a little "posher" than previous venus and the locations adds a few quid to the damage but plates were cleared, problems shared with encouragement and laughs on point! The Minced lamb seemed a favourite, no chips in site 😅 but a very colourful pallet of healthy stuff alongside the meats. Flavours filled the venue as the main kitchen is based in the middle of the main floor and the chefs are cooking away. Parking locally all around and pubs or a prom near to finished the evening 👍🏼 Really important as Men to create spaces to feel listened too, moments to be challenged and friendships that enable. Awful! Reserved a table, got a table near the microwaves. Starters either frozen (stuffed vineleaves), or microwaved frozen prawns without seasoning. Fresh lamb chops griddled to death without seasoning. Their idea of Mediterranean salad is grated carrots and red cabbage. When asked if the still filled plates were to our satisfaction we made the mistake of letting them know it wasn't. Rude manager-owner that serves poor food that has as much in common with the Mediterranean as an Eskimo. Avoid !

Reaaaaally good. If you like middle-eastern/med food, this is the place for you. A little on the pricey side, but meals are substantial and taste so good. It’s worth it!

I've been eating at this wonderful restaurant since it opened. It serves the best food in Mumbles and surpasses almost all restaurants I've eaten in, its fantastic

Nice place for food, ample seating and great service. Food is nice, plenty of choice and good prices. My only suggestion would be some background music, as if you're like me you don't like to hear people eat. Other than that, nice.

Food Very poor and over priced not great service at all. We were eating with are winter coats on that's how cold upstairs was. So I'm not going back there again.

Omg I am addicted to the chicken spicy kebab from here. Best tasting and authentic kebab, I would have one every day if I could. Staff are really friendly and helpful, place is clean, and as I might have mentioned the food is amazing.

This restaurant offers great service and fantastic food. The menu is very extensive and I’m sure everyone can find something they want. As a vegan I had a choice from many different options and everything I tried there was absolutely delicious. I’ve been there twice and will be visiting many more times again. This place is highly recommended.

Interesting to find a very good Turkish restaurant in the gower. The food was fantastic and every bit as good as I have eaten in Turkey and the price was reasonable. No wonder the place was full on a September Sunday evening.

situated in the village of Mumbles a busy restaurant with hearty menu , wine served as required along with various beers. An enjoyable sociable evening had by all.

We decided to have the last dinner of our vacations here, and sadly was a terrible experience from beginning to end. The food was ok but nothing extraordinary, the real problem was the service, though the waitress was nice, the manager's behavior has been deplorable since we arrived his behavior was rude, giving bad comments about us to the waitress cause we decided to share some dishes (he didn't care that we can listen to him). We waited for one hour to get our food, which only arrived when we told the waitress that some friends needed to depart for a four hours road trip. When we gave our feedback while paying, the manager said that one hour was nothing for fresh food and told us we were lucky to get a table at the restaurant. We were out of words with his answer and left the place very disappointed with the customer service.

Service was good although perhaps a little stiff and the staff ended up hovering in the background a bit. The food was fantastic! Lamb that just fell apart on the fork. Chicken kebabs hot off the grill. Really really good.

Cannot recommend this beautiful restaurant enough. The food was absolutely outstanding and we were made to feel very welcome by all the the lovely staff. We will be back.

As vegetarians there weren't that many options for mains so we opted for a selection of starters/mezze. The owner/manager was very friendly and we had a chat about our trip to Turkey. The food was very tasty, service was prompt and staff were friendly. The restaurant is quite pricey and they could offer more vegetarian main options.

Ate at the restaurant for dinner on final day of holiday. Nice, cosy restaurant with attentive staff. We ordered various hot and cold mezze to share as starters all were nice but thought a little expensive for the portion sizes and the bread was on the dry side. Drinks came quickly and staff replenished tap water regularly. For mains my companions all enjoyed their meat kebabs and portion sizes were good. Unfortunatly I was disappointed with the vegetable/ halloumi kebab I ordered as I expected char grilled vegetables and large chuncks of halloumi. What arrived was a tomato/ veg stew with small diced halloumi scattered on top. Overall a pleasant experience and the staff are undoubtedly hard working.

Great location, absolutely stunning food, always good to have an open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. Staff are really friendly with fantastic service. Restaurant was nice and busy but still had room for us as a walk in. Menu is comprehensive but not excessive, as it was my first visit the owner actually combined two dishes for me so I could try two dishes - very nice of him! Will definitely be visiting again and recommend you do too!

Was here a couple of weeks ago. Having lived in Turkey for a few years I had expectations for the food based on experience. Without waxing on, the food...very good, service...very good, decor ..comfortable, and pleasant. Plenty of parking nearby. Will be returning.

Great email contact and friendly for the lady. However as soon as we walked in the waiter/manager was not at all welcoming. Especially considering the size of the party. We were a party of 13 i believe and spent £500. The service was no near as good previous occasions. The starter was excellent. The main course seemed small and a little lacking. Not much rice, we did get two small bowls when asked for more. However no condiments or extra dressing salads etc available to suit individuals tastes.

Tried the Mediterranean kebab, really tasty food. Lovely rice really fresh salad to accompany the full flavoured kebabs, 1st time we have tried this restaurant. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

Absolutely amazing, great food and incredible service

We had a lovely meal here tonight. Beautiful food, well seasoned and very well cooked. Lovely and fresh, with good sized portions. We had the lamb leg stew which was very tasty with warm not hot spice, and the fish of the day with rice and salad which was really well presented and dressed. Friendly, welcoming service, and family friendly environment with a calm, comfortable feel. The owner is clearly happy to guide you in your food choices so if you’re unsure, talk to him. Felt very clean and well managed too, which when we’ve not been out much due to Covid, was appreciated by us.

Service a bit surly, vegetarian food was bland

Good starters Aubergine and Hummous but main courses disappointing. Chicken kebab reasonable a little dry, lamb chops were grey and had no flavour, quite dry. They were cooked ok but the meat itself was the problem. I did mention it and the waiter sort of agreed said it was the wrong season but no offer to redress.

Food was nice. Mezzes were ok, expensive for the portion and quality. Restaurant was clean. Food and drink price on menu is different from final bill. Don't recommend.

We went here on a recommendation from a hotel we were staying in. They said it was a great place to eat and they weren’t wrong. We hadn’t eaten Turkish food before so we had no idea what to order. The owner who was immaculately dressed in a smart suit could see we were struggling and helped us. He seemed to know exactly what we would like and said that it was down to over 25 years experience. Something quite rare these days. The food was amazing. We had meat balls to start and I had what is a lamb casserole which melted in my mouth. The whole experience was the highlight of our holiday.
