The food was great, the hummus and bread were perfect. We had seafood based main course, there are vegetarian options. Rice pudding dessert lovely and good Turkish coffee. The service was friendly and informative. A lovely evening out. Will return when next in Swansea.

Istanbul is definitely a cut above your average St Helen's Road restaurant. The food is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Staff are welcoming and it's a pleasure to visit.

The food should have been nice, I ordered via Uber Eats. Living around 8 miles from the restaurant you would think they would have not allowed to order to go out to a delivery person on a bicycle. This resulted in the person realising somewhere along the line the journey was too far for them, before peddling back to the restaurant to return the food. Eventually the food took around 2 hours to be delivered. The salad was warn and soggy, the meat was dry by the time it got to me and cold at best. I waited so long my hunger had passed. I spent £39 on an over all bad experience when it could have easily been avoided. I am 100% confident the food would have been lovely if it had left the restaurant and came straight to me without the drama in between.

Been here before and always enjoyed. However this time we left disappointed. Place was busy when we walked in but large table were asking for bill when we sat down. Had menu and drinks served promptly but then took a while to take our order. The usual basket of lovely bread came whilst we were eating our starter. Took a while to get someone's attention to point out my wife hadn't received her garlic dip. Mains came soon after. My Iskender Kebab came minus the grilled tomatoes and pepper. Staff were too busy clearing up empty table. We never got asked during our meal if everything was OK or if we needed another drink. Told staff when we asked for bill that we were disappointed. They said we should have said earlier.

We had an excellent value and tasty family meal at Istanbul. A good restaurant that's well run and accomodating by the manager. I recommend it.

The menu has a few Turkish delicacies. Available options for meat lovers & vegetarians. The restaurant itself is relatively small with nice atmosphere!

Food is really good and courteous staff who will provide a great service. We just randomly picked the restaurant for dinner and were very happy with our experience. The bread was really fresh and tasty. All the meat and chicken were really fresh and helped with taste. Definitely recommend if to try some middle eastern cuisine.

Outstanding food and friendly staff can’t go wrong with this place

We booked for a retirement meal and everyone enjoyed themselves. The meat was deliciously tender, cooked to perfection and with flavours that were superb. I didn't want the meal to end because it was so good. It was my first meal there, but I will definitely return again, with family next time. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxed. I enjoyed the Pilaki starter and Tavik Sote main meal followed by dessert. Lots of choice for vegetarians, whichmy son will enjoy.

We’ve been to the Istanbul several times and we have never been disappointed. Another excellent meal. Lovely, fresh and beautifully presented. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Great for vegetarians as well as people who eat meat.

Always first class food and service

Had an evening meal here and not a bad word to say about it. Lovely food and staff, will definitely be returning. We had cacik, hummus and filo to start and then a lamb shish and mixed grill for mains

This place is quite a surprise the food is genuinely outstanding along with the service - it was a great find and they will cook you anything. The flavours quality choice and presentation was faultless. Nothing was too much trouble, not many restaurants like this one in swansea. Great night.

Excellent restaurant. Great food. Friendly staff. Meals all reasonably priced. Efes Pils for £3.50. Had the Kasarli Chicken which was delicious. Easy walk from centre of Swansea. Love Turkish food and have eaten in many Turkish restaurants inside and outside Turkey and this is fabulous. We plan to make this a regular haunt on visits to Swansea.

Food was spot on, service was above and beyond and the atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely come again when we're back in Swansea.

Good food and atmosphere. The only slight negative was the length of time between the starter and main course. Although, I was part of a large family gathering, celebrating a 'wedding anniversary'. Aside from the service, I would return to Istanbul because the food was very good.

But not as Pricy as the drinks. £6 for a bottle of beer 50ml. vodka and coke £5.50. Coke was from a can. They put half the coke in the glass. If you wanted the full can was a extra £2.00 so effectively £3.50 for a can of coke which woild have made vodka and coke £7.50. We pre orderd over a week ago as there were 30 people attending. By the time we had our order everyone else had finished their food. Will never go back to this place again. Poor service. Expensive for everything no sauce for the meat so very dry eating experience. Cannot recommend this place

I had a lamb iskender and it was amazing.

Birthday meal celebration for my Mum. Quiet evening and wasn’t sure if I had to book as it was midweek. We were the only ones dining. No frills food but really enjoyed. The liver starter was different and particularly enjoyed.

Wonderful flavoursome food and attention to detail

Mostly grilled meat - lamb and chicken chops/wings and kebabs. Well-sized portion sizes, friendly staff, quick service and good food. It is maybe a little bit pricier (around £20 pp for a grilled meat dish) than other places in the area but this is understandable because after all it is grilled meat.

The food here was absolutely outstanding , service and atmosphere . The mixed grill for 2 with salad and meze starter was delicious, we ended up taking the rest home as we was full . Will be definitely coming back with my husband. Wonderful

My wife and I dropped by a February Friday just after 18.00. We're both talkers and the space and low noise levels made our visit just the kind we like. We like to eat out and will add this restaurant to our rota. I felt authenticity. Things were professional but they were therefore relaxed and pleasant. At our ages, 65+, we are not the biggest of eaters, so doggy bags are usual with us. That all worked fine for us.

Food was lovely, all freshly cooked and service was 100%. Lots of choice, we had starters and mains and all enjoyed their choices. Drinks were available and not over priced. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Overall it was a very pleasurable experience and we would definitely go again.

The lunch time special is three courses for £12.50. The food was tasty and well cooked.

Might from the outside look a tad gloomy, but as the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. This is an excellent find . Had 3 hot Meze between the 2 of us. Everything made and cooked on the premises, including the bread. Main courses, one lamb and a chicken - meat tender ,not fatty, extremely tasty. Been to Turkish restaurants in London and travelled to Turkey almost 50 times. Definitely up there with the best. Happy to recommend.

Went here with a group of Turkish friends who recommended it. It was very clear why they love this restaurant. Very warm welcome, very efficient service. Had a meze platter then Imam Bayaldi. The bread was amazing. Everything was fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. The meals had lots of ingredients so were appetising. Generous reasonably priced portions. Clean with a good atmosphere. Very authentic. Looking forward to visiting again.

Omg. ordered the taste of turkey meal for 3 for my daughter's birthday meal. Absolutely delicious. Loads of flavour and freshly made. Definitely be calling again.

Visited for my birthday and was not disappointed. We shared the meze platter, then I had Imam Bayaldi and my husband had Iskender Kebab. This was our first visit but we will definitely back, and soon, because the food is beautifully cooked, delicious and sensibly priced. What a find!

At the utmost respectful, with quality food and sound service, went with my mother and all aspects of food and service were answered above par in tandem. We were a group of 13, and this place looked after us very well! The mixed grill meat & fish platters were large and very tasty, as were the vegetarian dishes. I would certainly visit again in the future.

Visited this evening and the food was amazing, tasty and beautifully cooked. The service was outstanding considering that the waiter was on his own, efficient and friendly. Have been before but will certainly be returning.

Had a meal with friends here last week, staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble and food is delicious, I had my first cup of Turkish tea and some baklava and it was stunning. Would highly recommend first class

We are regulars at this restaurant and it never disappoints! Food is always fresh, plentiful and flavoursome! We’ve started taking our 3 year old and he loves the food! The iskender kebab is my favourite! Highly highly recommend, a hidden gem in Swansea!

A cozy place to dine with high quality Turkish food. I really enjoyed my meal. The owner of the restaurant was so caring, kind and affectionate. The day I went there I was so sad because of losing my cat and the owner noticed and tried to sympathize with me and gave us some beer and dessert on the house.

This restaurant serves the best Turkish food in Swansea! We recently had the mixed grill for two people, coban salad, kisir, hummus, cacik and fresh bread. We also had dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Can’t recommend this place...

This was our first visit back since Christmas 2019. Nothing had changed, the welcome was just as warm, the food was excellent, the lunchtime menu is probably the best value I have seen anywhere and just to reiterate the quality and authenticity of the food...
