Great food and plenty of choice cooked to perfection and the staff are very friendly and professional it's a regular choice of ours to eat there and after last night will continue to do so thanks all

Thoroughly enjoyed dinning there. We all had a main, and it came with side of roasted potatoes, cauliflower in batter and peas. Plenty of food for sure. I had the chicken Al Portuguese. Yummy. We did not book (Friday night, party of 3), they have plenty of room - large room downstairs too. The decor was pretty rustic. Very good. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly.

I think they just tried to feed us to death. However, the lovely staff and outstanding food foiled their cunning plot, and we battled through sardines, monkfish and chicken, gamely wrestling with enough sautéed potatoes and battered cauliflower to feed a football team. Revenge was served cold: ice cream, Pasteis de Nata and cheesecake. One of the best meals I've had in the UK in a long time; delightful.

First time in Swansea and Madeira restaurant. Convenient for Dragon Hotel. Easy booking process. Warm welcome on arrival. Service was superb right through the meal. We ordered Cataplana and was extremely good. Highly recommend

From start to finish the evening was marvellous and the food was great for all of us. The servers were very professional and enthusiastic about the food on the menu. Can't wait to return soon.

Visited on the 21/09/2024 for my Partners Birthday we I had the Portuguese ribs as a starter and she had the pate both big portions and were very nice for our mains we had the Cataplana de Casa which was A lot and was very good, we did not need desserts. Great place will visit again.

Been here many times and I’ve always enjoyed. I can certainly recommend for starters the scampi, garlic mushrooms and Portuguese Pork Ribs (Pictured). I’m more or a meat eater than fish so I usually go for the chicken or beef skewers. You can get cauliflower in batter better anyway as well.

First time at Madeira after a recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. The steaks were superb and the prawn and monkfish espatadas was delicious. Generous portions and friendly professional service. Will add to our list of favourite restaurants. Definitely worth a visit!!

We went her for the first time with our two friends , we had a fabulous evening . This place is a hidden gem as the food is to die for. We all had steaks cooked in different sauces , and all of us said how succulent they were . The portions they give you are huge !! The dishes come with sauté potatoes and vegetables, one of which is their speciality cauliflower in a crispy batter , absolutely delicious. The starters are also delicious, we were too full to eat desserts but they looked lovely . The staff are so warm, friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you . We will definitely return here soon , hopefully highly recommended.

The restaurant has it all: Great food at reasonable prices, fabulous staff and it is spotlessly clean We had ribs and mushrooms to start ( the ribs could have been tastier) Then two chicken dishes; I had the Chicken Algarve (with ham and cheese ) and it can with sauté potatoes, peas and cauliflower. Delicious Washes it down with a bottle of house red (pictured) Which I can highly recommend.

A wonderful experience every time and very reasonably priced.

I just don’t get this place. It’s basically deconstructed kebabs in the main. Small portions. I had the monkfish and prawns. Well 2 prawns to be exact. I thougt the waiter was going to have my eye out with the spit thing at one stage. It wasn’t expensive but I was just underwhelmed by the entire experience and won’t rush back.

Been going here a few times a year for many years. Been again today, food and service very good as usual. Best value 2 course lunch in Swansea.

Normally food is lovely but customer service needs ALOT of work, very tense atmosphere, had to ask for water 5 times. Was not a relaxed atmosphere at all. After spending over £300 they charged us for extra items which we did not order and refused to take off the bill. Will not be returning

Really good lunch menu here - we had the chicken espetada, chicken piri piri, chicken au poivre and chicken Portuguese style. Very tasty, sizeable portions and a great overall experience.

Haven't been for a while bit so pleased it's still fab 😀 great staff, lovely food/wine & still very reasonable.

Food was OK. Hot starter was microwaved as cold in certain parts. Main the same, vegetables had been Microwaved and again cold in parts.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and explained the dishes on the menu and helped us to choose the dishes to suit our likings The food was delicious and can't wait to go back

Went for a lunch time meal and was not disappointed. The restaurant was quite busy but there were plenty of staff available and they did not seem to be rushed. We had not been for a little while so it was nice to see that the standards had not changed from out last visit last year.

Been visiting here for years, had a break due to poor service, re visited last night, food was very poor steak over done so returned it, second one came full of fat I couldn’t eat it still charged full price even though they said they wouldn’t, didn’t like to say as I don’t like complaining, main course came while we were still eating our starters, staff friendly but not trained and don’t understand English enough, sadly will be a long time before we return again

Definitely one of my favourite places to visit so far this year. The restaurant is well laid out, atmospheric and cosy; perfect for either an intimate dinner for two or a family group meal. The menu has authentic food from Madeira and the skewered meat has to be tasted to be believed. Yum! Service was fantastic, so friendly, helpful and fast. Will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

First trip to the restaurant. The food was excellent, staff were polite, courteous and very prompt with the food service. Overall a very good experience.

Love this place, food is always excellent , whether your have loads of starters, or their fish, or hanging skews, and all the sides that come with them, house wine really good, service excellent every time I come , atmosphere is cool, every town should have one of these places ! The food was good, I had the swordfish and want to try the espetadas next time. Would love to see stronger flavour maybe. Friendly and welcoming staff and vibrant atmosphere.

Great Portuguese restaurant. Well presented and tasty menu as well as a selection of excellent wines. Highly recommended.

Disappointed in the flavour of lamb. Didn't feel seasoned well and lacked proper sauce to go with it. It's pricey given that it was just lamb. The sides they gave were peas( boiled), fried cauliflower and potato which again felt bland. My partner enjoyed his veal portuguese. Sides were as per what I described above. The waitress didn't advise on dishes to order which would have helped us make a better decision. Grilled lamb was not a good idea. House red wines were great.

Excellent value set menu, looking forward to visiting again soon

Came in on Valentine’s day, immediately it seemed like no one wanted us there. We were sat at a large circular table when there was only myself and my partner. Lots of servers, but still took ten minutes to get us two lemonades with only two other tables in? No concept of sections, after ordering our drinks two other servers asked us if we wanted drinks. No time for chitchat, we ordered and within ten minutes our food had arrived on comically large plates. Food was nice, but as soon as I took my last bite and put my cutlery down, my plate was taken and the cheque was put down. We were in and out in less than 50 minutes. Really bizarre experience.

The restaurant was friendly and accommodating Nice food choices really, really busy on the evening we visited Sat 24th February, but all was organised and staff calm.

Had an amazing time celebrating my husbands 70th Birthday on Saturday. Couldn't have been better, and the staff were really top class.

Visited on a Saturday night and it was quite busy, there was a vibrant atmosphere, service was excellent and the food was outstanding it took me back to when I was in Portugal last summer. we will definitely visit again.

Food was dry and tasteless. Overcooked meat and fish. Lobster spaghetti was like super noodles watery and tasteless. Overpriced and very overrated. Would never recommend the place and one to be avoided

Myself and my husband hadn't visited Madeira Restaurant for about 3 years. We had forgotten how pleasant it was and the food and service was very good. We shall definitely visit again soon.

Just returned to our hotel after eating here. Overwhelmed with how good it was. The food was top class. Portions too big for us and we couldn’t finish everything. I had the biggest salmon steak I have ever seen served with beautifully cooked veggies. Husband had veal in a lovely sauce. Our starters were second to none but sadly no room for dessert. The staff were lovely and so friendly and wine superb. We thought value for money all round. If you are in or visiting Swansea do not miss the chance to eat here. You won’t be disappointed.

My wife described this place as being nice, friendly, with a good choice menu , she visited with a group booking to celebrate an occasion, there is parking opposite the restaurant, in a multi storey car park.

Service was good and very friendly ,but I think that the standard of food is not what it was soup no flavour had chicken for mains was just OK,but the surprise came when I was charged £9.20 for a glass of wine when I asked if they had over charged was told yes it was the correct price so won't be going there again anytime soon .

A friend and I were grateful to be accommodated as walk-in diners. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the place looked clean. The only toilet available for customer use was the disabled toilet which was also being used by kitchen staff, this didn't leave a good impression. The waiting & bar staff were all pleasant and almost efficient. It seemed strange to have 4 different youngsters attending to our table at different times, I'd suggest that the management 'zone' the staff and keep just one face attending to a table. I asked for a cruet for the table, a request that obviously translates in Portuguese as "I'd like to bayonet your grandma." judging by the response. Starters were a delight, garlic scampi. Drinks were good. I was dining with a friend and we both opted for the fillet steak with different sauces. Here came the biggest let down for this establishment, the steak was very tough. I don't expect to pay £25 for a small fillet steak and have to feed most of it to the dog. The problem, I'm guessing, is that the steaks haven't been matured long enough. That's the butcher's fault unless the restaurant is buying really cheap. Other diners have made similar comments about the (poor) quality of the steaks here. Our decision to eat at this establishment was informed by the displayed food hygiene score of 5/5 (Very Good).

Exceeded my expectations - excellent food.

Had a fantastic meal, always wanted to try this Restaurant and wasn't disappointed. There was a little mistake on the bill we were charged twice for the veal dish but it was quickly resolved and received a voucher which we will use on our next visit so we are definitely going back to try something new. Also was very impressed with all the staff who were friendly and very efficient and even though they were very busy they interacted with their customers which is rare these days.

Fish cakes arrived frozen in the middle. I sent them back and 5 minutes later received freshly cooked ones, which had ice in the centre of them! They too were promptly returned! The chicken kebabs were cold and tasted strange. It was spongy like processed chicken, and the battered cauliflower was cold, in soggy batter with stodgy uncooked batter inside. Having eaten several times in Ty Madeira in Cardiff, we expected the same quality food. Sadly, it was the worst meal I've ever had, and I had the misfortune of having to pay £51 for it. Never again!! Such a disappointment.

HOW GOOD IS MADEIRA’s FILLET STEAK? I would eat it every single day. Onion rings good too. Says it comes with potatoes, but they’re really just small-potato-shaped-chips. Only thing that could improve this place? Get some Portuguese ciders on the menu!

Went there yestrrday. The service from the friendly and warm-hearted lady was exceptional. Our order included the delectable seafood spaghetti and the hake fillet with the delightful Portuguese special sauce - both dishes were truly delicious!

This was an awful experience, I choose the 2 course lunch Menu, 1st course was “grilled Sardines” and they were completely black unable to eat and unclean( guts and poop) so when I bite them they were bitter. My mouth full of poop which made me want to puke, we ordered a seafood rice which included big king prawns that were not cleaned either and over cooked. Costumer service was terrible, the young men who serve the tables came to trow the garlic bread I ordered overall it’s the worse place I have visited in UK which “ offers Madeira food” but it’s the taste is not comparable to the autentique português food, it’s an ashamed I wasted my money there. That restaurant could make people sick how how unclean it’s. It’s all full of dust etc.

-This is a lovely restaurant. I went there for lunch the set lunch being £14.95 I had Garlic mushrooms with a garnish followed by chicken portuguesa. This is a breast of chicken cooked with mushrooms peppers tomato and cream and wine with onions. It came with petit pois and sautee potatoes It was not the first time I have been there and have always had a good meal there. The staff were as always friendly and helpful, in fact I don't think they can do enough for you. It is a very pleasant experience all round

My dad is from Madeira and he absolutely loved it! Authentic Portuguese food and lovely atmosphere inside. Would definitely recommend this place for an occasion.

Delicious food, amazing service, sea bass in rock salt is amazing, staff is very friendly. It's our 3 visit in this week here and we love it. Best place in Swansea.

We are in Swansea for the bank holiday and discovered there is a Portuguese (Madeira) Restaurant in the area and as a good Portuguese we thought we should visit. And what a great place! Simply amazing! tasty food, great customer service, fast paced... Absolutely recommend it 🤌 Thanks for the great experience 🙏
