Terrible take away this evening dishes completely tasteless Poor customer service while dealing with my complaint ,regarding the quality of the meal this evening

Ordered a takeaway, piping hot on arrival and absolutely delicious. Best Chinese we’ve had in a while.

Ordered a family takeaway Saturday all sat down watching a film and waiting with anticipation. Knock knock at the door fantastic plates ready chop sticks ready and then it went rapidly down hill …. Laid all the food out too realise it was luke warm at best and then the frantic search for the rice nope it was not there !!! So we rang the restaurant explained and they said they would get the rice to us twenty minutes later it arrived and again luke warm at best so a good family night well looking on the bright side the film was good but the take way was terrible

I ordered butterfly king prawns with a dip, what came was a flat dry tasteless mess, you would never have known it was supposed to be prawns. I tried one but decided my teeth couldn't cope with the hardness. I rang to complain to be told that different takeaways did it in different ways.

I enjoyed the first mouthful of my pancake roll .........until I realised that the vegetable pancake roll I ordered had chicken and pork in it.. .......not impressed

Good was fine but all Cold as the delivery was 1.5 hours late. I ordered over 2 hours early for a specific time as my husband is diabetic. Despite phoning several times, I was just told they can't contact the driver and they didn't know when it would arrive. Completely ruined my birthday treat. Will not order from them again and would not recommend.

The food was very dry , and appeared old/ reheated... noodles were sticky and over cooked as was the rice. The all the food had minimal flavour bar the curry sauce. It took 50 minutes to arrive. Wouldn't order from here again as most of what we ordered ended up being chucked away

Used to be the best Chinese we have had, only place we would go but the last 2 times we've been there we've been less than disappointed. Not sure if it's a change of chef but the food is no where near as flavoursome, the seaweed is Chunky and flavourless and chewy. The delivery is always very quick with hot food, can't fault that, however we won't be going back anymore unfortunately.

This is wot they send me and when I called them they said that this is the amount they give now and if I wanted to know I have two ask for more and pay for me is not even half a pot I will not be going here no more and that is a shame as for 8 years I have never ever had any problems I think the manager needs to go as he is not good at his job one bit The staff there are really good and I would like to thank the staff members that work hard but it is a shame that they have a bad boss like that I would not want to work with them one bit

We usually love using this Chinese restaurant for takeaway, however tonight we were thoroughly disappointed! I understand it was New Year’s Eve and very high demand, but we ordered our food at 17:50 to be delivered by 19:10, and after 8 attempts to call the restaurant, there was no answer, so at 20:15 we had to drive down there to see where our food was. On arrival there was two unhappy customers in front of me, one pre ordered food that morning for delivery to no avail, and had no record of his food order! Another customer had been waiting same amount of time as us and they kept telling him 15 more minutes... he was there before and after me so god knows when he got his food. After 20 minutes I finally could explain that we had been waiting almost 3 hours! After the lady complaining to the chef we finally got our food and home by 21:00!! Shame we wasted most of our evening waiting for a takeaway. Not much apology for the long wait! Again, I appreciate it was New Year’s Eve but they took on far too many orders than they could handle and we’re still taking them even when we were all stood there waiting ! Plus, we ordered prawn toast and for some reason it had chicken in not prawn!! I don’t think we’ll be using this place again unfortunately.

We've ordered from here many times before and the foods been great and delivered quickly however we ordered at 6pm today and it wasn't delivered until 10pm. We enquired at 7.30pm (half an hour after the predicted delivery time) and waited half an hour before they changed the order status to delivered. I tried phoning many many times and they never picked up. I enquired with JustEat but the food was finally delivered while I was in a conversation to get a refund. In the meantime we had ordered and received our food from another takeaway.

Go esl where expensive greasy cold food Rang up the takeaway the man who answered was rude and told me he won’t give me my money back and he won’t send out delivery driver to collect the food and he also said if he gave refunds for food how would he make a business I replied... You cook decent food so you don’t have to give refunds Ridiculous

I ordered from here the first time during lockdown using their website to pre-order. An hour after the food was supposed to arrive we called them to enquire where it was. Apparently they had no record of the order, so we had to order again. Overall we waited 3 hours for this whole process. It turned out their order machine had stopped working which they called me back to explain. I later emailed stating that the food was lovely but we felt let down by the service, so they offered 20% off on our next purchase, which we did a week later. Decided to order over the phone this time and it arrived within 45 minutes, and was lovely and hot. Just ordered for the third time today over the phone again and it arrived in 15 minutes- couldn’t believe how fast the service was for a Saturday night!

Has our usual chinese was not open we tried this place and was not disappointed, food arrived earlier that what was on the website - good news, The food was plentiful and tasty the only slight down side was the curry sauce and sweet and sour sauce were not to our usual taste (but different company different flavours) Thumbs up from us and will be using again

so decided we were gonna have a chinese tonight being a saturday night. Went on just eat and order from The new fountain house in braintree where we have eaten before and had very nice food. Food arrived nice and hot and early which was great however it became clear when we started eating it the food was horrible. The chicken (if it was) was just water slices of meat with no taste. The lamb was the same flavorless and dry the porkballs had the tinyest bit of pork in ever and the batter tasted off. The whole meal was inedible. I contacted the new fountain house and stated the food was not edible and that i would like my money back to be told basicly no chance you need to go through just eat. So i tryed that online got no where so went to the resturant where the guy wouldnt even come out of the kitchen to talk to me all they did was give me the just eat number not even an appology. Phoned just eat to be told the only way i could get a refund is if the resturant agrees to it and surprise surprise the wont and just eats only advice to this....well you can leave a review......so im now sitting here out of pocket and hungry. Never going to that place again and just eat can go do one aswell!!! So pissed off

We waited 2 hours for our food to arrive and when it did it was incorrect. We were quoted 50 minutes, I called after waiting 1 1/2 hours and asked how long it would be, the woman lied and said she had seen the man leaving with our food so it wouldn’t be long. After 2 hours of waiting I called back again and the woman was incredibly rude asking me why I’d called again and exclaiming ‘oh god it’s coming’. When it arrived 3 dishes were wrong and one was missing. We were incredibly unhappy with this takeaway and one of us went hungry as the chicken dish they ordered came as a prawn dish and they can’t eat shellfish. It totally ruined our evening and we won’t order again.

My first time ordering with them and the food was superb. the chilli beef was really crispy, everything cooked really nicely and very tasty. such a shame nobody let me know it’d be late otherwise I’d have given 5 stars all the way. will definitely order again though as they are far better than the others I’ve tried

Food from here is fantastic! Salt and pepper chicken balls are amazing! Always been delivered very hot! And they are very fast with delivery, position sizes very generous. Deliver drivers always very pleasant..wouldn't order from any other Chinese! This one is sooo good!!!

Used to be a regular visitor to this Take away in my teenage years, a large pancake roll made an excellent snack when cycling home from the town. For various reason (mostly to do with other take aways being more conveniently located) I did not buy chinese here for the greater part of 35 years. In the last year I have taken to ordering chinese take-away from here, initially due to the falling standards of other chinese take aways, in the town, but now because I have been reintroduced to their Large Pancake roll, as good as it was in my teenage years. The other food they produce is equally good, not always perfect (everybody has the occasional off day), but always arrives piping hot, and tastes great. It says something that they are still in business 35 years on, when there has been a massive increase in restuarants and take away food establishments in the Braintree area.

Have used just eat and this restaurant before with no problems. This time however although food was delivered on time it was really poor quality. Duck was overcooked and mainly fat and skin,Pancakes for the duck were more like popadums. Singapore Noodle was dry and tasteless, Chilli Beef was almost a solid block. Chow Mein was just OK. Really dispointed and not sure why food was so bad.

Food was lovely and hot as always. Order was correct lost a star for being late but it didnt spoil the evening.

normally fantastic service but over £80 spent but no hoisin sauce with aromatic duck and not even one free prawn cracker!!! unusually disappointing for money spent!!

Nearly always order from this Chinese foods normally great and I've never had a problem, but our food just wasn't the same quality as usual and wasn't enjoyable. Hopefully this is just a one off and the food is normally brilliant!

Hardly any sauce in the sweet and sour. Second time in a row this has happened. Perhaps it’s under new management but it’s not a nice as it was. Will try somewhere new next time.

We always get our chinese food from the Fountain House and have done for years. Unfortunately last nights was way below their normal high standard. Maybe will give them another chance and hope it was a one off!!

Food was salty, prepared in a rush and was delivered within 10 minutes! Menu not prepared as it should be. Very disappointed, waste of money and expensive. Not sure if those reviews are genuine either. Avoid!

Normally I enjoy your food but I didn't this time round. The food was alright but I normally order a bottle of coke to go with it but when the delivery driver got here, he told me that he had "forgotten" it and thought it would be ok to laugh about it. Which I didn't find highly amusing whatsoever. However I did get some money off but next time, I would appreciate it if I get everything i order.

always rated this take away but the food was pretty bland last couple of times we ordered...... might have new chef or normal was away!? gutted as now need to find new family favorite.

Great service, however, to be brutally honest the dish, (King Prawn in Chilli, Garlic Sauce) was just like trying to eat a block of salt. I am sorry, I really didn't enjoy this and left most of it on the plate.

2nd Chinese in Braintree tried and again very disappointed. Food was early and hot but very bland dishes and very salty starters. We ate maybe half of it and the rest went in the bin. Even the crackers were brown where they had been cooked in old oil. Having had a good few Chinese take aways where I've previously lived I'm yet to find one that even comes close.

Unfortunately this a a first bad takeaway her as have always had great food before. Chicken satay was very chewy and the peanut sauce was like water. Had to throw away as impossible to eat. Sorry.

Awful service will never use again

£2 for delivery is a bit of a joke as the menu isn't cheap. So even though I've ordered a few times before I won't again. Dominos is now my only option in braintree

Lovely delivery guy and order was very quick but the food just tasted bland and cheap. Pad thai had no flavour, prawns were just chucked in with no flavour, chicken satay as part of the starter was rubbery and flavourless, chicken balls were all batter and hardly any chicken. Disappointed will not be ordering again.

Great food at a reasonable price. We always order by phone and the order is always ready on time The shop itself is a bit of a mess - still has its Xmas decorations up ! However the staff are excellent and polite - in my opinion the best Chinese in the area !

Everything was great until I bit into a duck roll and there were loads of bones in it.

The chips were absolutely disgusting, looked like they were store brought frozen chips. The rest of the food was extremely oily and greasy, majority of it just went into the bin.

I read the reviews before ordering and was concerned but we are new to th area and had to try hot the local takeaways. I honestly can’t fault the food, it was beautiful and hot and early! And some reviews have suggested early is bad but I would say they are unfair! Summary... lovely food, promptly delivered and I feel bad that I didn’t tip the delivery man (Because they charge a delivery fee).

Salt and pepper squid was great wish we ordered two.
