We called in here for dinner one night as my husband fancied trying the taster flight of beers. You can select the beers you wish to taste and are given a sheet with descriptions on and the beers labelled. I had a very good 0% alcohol mocktail We chose the Bbq sharing platter, but soon realised we could have done with a couple of friends to help us. The food was lovely and the waiter boxed up the leftovers for us to take home. The brewery have their beers and spirits to buy and also do Brewery tours. Would definitely come back when in Canterbury.

It was my 2nd visit here on my 2nd time in Canterbury and both were excellent. The beer and food were great and staff helpful and friendly. I had the taster rack to start with followed by a couple of my favourites and a lovely whisky. The food was very good especially the squid and prawn small plate, the burgers and the steak and ale pie. A great atmosphere at lunch and early afternoon when I was there this time. Definitely a go to place when I go back to Canterbury

Three of us had booked lunch before meeting with others, only two of ate. 1x club with fries and fish finger wrap with fries. All very well presented, the chicken in the club was so tender as was the fish, salad was fresh, washed down with wine and some pints of ale! The lady who looked after us was very friendly. Couldn’t have asked for better and well priced!

Popular place for a good meal and some really lovely beer with good attention from the staff. The meal was very tasty and very well presented. Need to book though if you want to order fish and chips which we found had just sold out each time we ate there! The place seems to get crowded from about 7 pm

The service was terrible. The stove was switched on when we arrived, but it was switched off shortly after. We told the waiter we were cold, abd the response was that most people weren't, and that the hot food would warm us up. Other people were wearing thick coats and hats. One of pur plates was short of meat and carrots. We were told that it was probably "because they were running out of lamb", and they offered some potatos. I asked for a bit of beef instead, and when they were taking their time, i asked the manager who rudely told me that unless i wanted it raw i would have to wait. The waiters were overall nice, but the manager, a woman working on Easter Sunday at 3.00 pm was rude, unapologetic and umpleasant.

We were looking for a refuge on a wet Wednesday after some sightseeing and found a fine one here. Despite being in an old warehouse, it is warm and comfortable. The own drinks selection can't be faulted: two dark beers on offer for this old codger and distinctive gins for his discerning better half. The two young bar staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Might try the food on our next visit as the drink is so good.

I never really got over the pub moving from round the corner to these premises, though I have to say on our recent visit, the place looked a lot more cosy with hops on the ceiling and more subdued lighting in the large bar area down the steps. It is at least somewhere you can still go just for a drink and as they brew their own beer there is always a great selection to choose from. The staff are very friendly and the whole atmosphere is always very good. This time we also ordered lunch and the food was served quickly and was very good. I had the Hunters Chicken and my husband the Burger, although they were always famous for their Spare Ribs! Worth a Visit!

We walked in at 5pm on a Tuesday afternoon looking like a pair of drowned rats and watched the Foundry come alive. The staff are nice, the beer perfect along with their own gins and I got some delicious take away beer. I’ve often thought we can’t do lager in the UK, the Foundry proved me wrong so I got a take out which I’m enjoying in my hotel room as I write this. We ate the loaded nachos to start followed by the sharing meat platter & the worlds best chocolate brown ice & ice cream. I read that this place had started after the owners were inspired by brewpubs in the US. I have been to brewpubs in the US and the Foundry exceeds any of those.

As you could expect for a brew pub this sold a wide variety of beers, brewed on the premises. You could see some of the equipment through the large windows diving the brew house from the restaurant. Stumbled across this by accident after noticing a small signpost on the high street. The old foundry located in Stour Street, Canterbury is now a family run pub. It was our first time in Canterbury and we didn't come too prepared in terms of where to eat/ drink. The Foundry caught our eye while we were making our way to the city centre and we decided that we would have gone there for a pint after some sightseeing. The atmosphere is nice and casual, the place is fairly big so the tables are at a reasonable distance from one another and everyone has their privacy while still having the lively pub experience I had a pint of what they described as their favourite beer of the year (with reason to be so) and my partner had a taster tray. Both of us were very satisfied (even though my partner personally didn't love all of the beers she tried, as is perfectly understandable, she was very happy with the experience). Would definitely recommend, if we are ever coming back to Canterbury we will definitely come again and maybe try doing the distillery and brewery tour.

Staff were very friendly and attentive, nice selection of ales and wine.We ordered food and although tasty we were disappointed on the portion size of my husbands food.My husband ordered the beef brisket, the portion size was very small, this was served in a small bowl and a separate small bowl of vegetables, we felt it would of been better served on a plate and as it was in a small bowl it was hard to eat. We visited the Foundry on a Thursday evening. It is situated centrally in Canterbury and is around half a mile away from both Canterbury East and Canterbury West stations. We had the good fortune to visit during ‘green hop’ fortnight when such beers are available. I enjoyed it so much that I stuck with the same brew for the whole night.Service was exemplary but the only downside was that the service of hot food ceased at 20.00, meaning that we had to endure the joys of McDonalds after our departure from the Foundry.

We arrived an hour early for our table albeit expecting to have a pint of something wet from the ever beautiful array of ales on offer. We were instead shown to our table, offered drinks and food menus, and left the perfect amount of time to peruse. We ordered our drinks, and a sharing platter of loaded nachos - topped with the most astounding pulled pork. The pulled pork was enough to swing my decision for a main course to a pulled pork burger. Topped with blue cheese, this was another top tier dish which you just couldn’t fault. We were so full we couldn’t squeeze in a dessert which was the only tragedy of the evening! The staff were incredible. So welcoming, professional, polite and courteous. Couldn’t fault any aspect of the meal. Has always been our favourite place to eat in Canterbury, and tonight’s experience has only nailed it to the top of the list further. We saw this pub as we walked to the Canterbury punting company and decided we might give it a try later that night. Yes, there is food and drink here but that wasn't our initial reason for going. We went for the brewery tour/talk and tasting. Our host was John, the boss, who gave us an interesting and enthusiastic talk about brewing. This was helped by an introductory drink when we arrived and some 1/3 pint tastings. We decided to stay to eat and to sample some more beers. John managed to find us a table but if we had planned ahead we would have booked a table when booking the visit. The food was really good with decent vegan options for one of our party. The Foundry brew a large selection of beers so the taster drinks ( 5 x 1/3 pint) can let you sample a variety. They also make gin and rum. All the beers we tried were good with only Red Rye not being to my taste. I'm normally a bitter drinker and was surprised by how good their South Island larger was. They sell gift and selection packs and we did pick up some beer and gin for later. If we lived nearby I think we'd be in there fairly regularly.

So, my husband has declared that this is his favourite pub ever and believe me he has done lots and lots of research! Luke, who runs the Mooring cafe bar and punting tour company just up the road recommend it and what a find. It brews its own craft beers and you can get a sample tray of 5 1/3 pints - mind you, choosing only 5 is hard especially as they also distill their own gins. I'm not sure if they do small measures of gin as I didn't ask. My favourite was the honey gin but my husband loved the plain Canterbury gin, we loved them so much we bought a bottle each.

Me sentí realmente seguro.

First, I have to say that they do good food, and provide an excellent beer selection at a reasonable price. So I highly recommend for beer and/or food! However, if you're visiting to try their gins beware of the prices, as this element of our visit yestetday left a very sour taste at the end.The gin menu only gives prices for take away gins and gin gifts (see picture), no prices at all for drink-in. So when ordering my two double gins, I went off these prices (they have 50ml for £4.50 on the menu) and assumed an add on for tonic and drinking in - maybe £8 for a double of their own in-house gin?! The bill came, and it said £4.70 times two for each gin, plus tonic. I just assumed there had been an error so questioned the bill (assuming £4.70 was the price for the 50ml gin, I guessed I must have been accidentally charged 4 times instead of 2 times). I was informed by the manager on duty that these were correct prices, £4.70 for each SINGLE. She pointed out there are no prices on the menu for gin, and justified the much higher price as being for the presentation and fruit in the gins when drinking in (each double had a thin slice of lime, that's it). So £11.65 for each double gin, when a small 50ml bottle is only £4.50. And they don't do these anymore, FYI.Honestly, it felt like a huge rip off, pricier than a central London bar or hotel, and especially overpriced given the only menu price I saw for gin and the fact their gins are their own. At very least, they need to make prices of gin transparent (as they do for their beers, ciders and wines). I'm assuming they don't as they know how overpriced their drinks are. Every other bar I've been to in Canterbury charges £7-8.50 for a double with tonic, so my advice is avoid The Foundry if you're a gin drinker, and instead go to the Pegasus Tap Room or Thomas Tallis Ale House.

Being CAMRA members and enjoying our beer this seemed to be the ideal choice when in Canterbury and it had been recommended to us by a local. We started with the beer tasting board, 5 third pints of your choice for £7-95 and there was an excellent selection to choose from, we ordered bread and olives to help it along. We then ordered our main meals and a further choice of beer. The meals, were hearty, and well cooked. the service was good with pleasant, friendly staff. We will certainly be back when we're next in Canterbury.

My friend and I ate at the Foundry today and was so happy with our choice! I Ordered the 4 small plates - pork fajitas, squid, deep fried brie and hummus with bits and pieces...firstly the squid was my favourite and cooked/seasoned well....however not exactly small plates...seemed huge when infront of me! Hehe....obviously I tried my hardest to devour everything! My friend had the vegetable lasagne...( and half of my food)...she also said that was good aswell!I must also mention the staff, think our waitress was called Michaela who we loved....so lovely, polite a really nice experience. Infact all the staff were lovely...a real credit to this place! Will be back, even if that means we have to pay full price...gotta love eat out to help out! Thanks again CAZ

Great staff. I booked the wrong Foundry but they still accommodated us even though they were full. The fish and chips and seared tuna were delicious. The house porter was fantastic - you can even get a 1/3 pint 5 beer taster. Great place. Very covid aware

Lunchtime queues at all the obvious places in the town centre and so thought we’d take pot luck and follow the sign on the Main Street directing us to The Foundry. Will definitely return and recommend 100%. Very organised Covid wise, wonderfully varied menu and efficient staff. Not beer drinkers but enjoyed the Canterbury lager and there is a very well stocked bar. The ribs are probably the best I’ve had and the burgers were a hit with rest of the family. 45 minute wait at Bill’s turned out to be very fortuitous!

This atmospheric brew pub was a nice surprise. Just off the high st in Cantebury behind the Abode hotel. Good selection of beers and I bought 2 of their half pint glasses to take home. The food was amazing. We had the Brew Pub Platter and the Ribs and Briskett were some of the best I have ever had using locally sourced ingredients. Would recommend and hopefully 1 day get back for another visit. Staff chilled and helpful and relevent covid measures were in place.

This warehouse building has plenty of character and appeared to implement social distancing rules correctly when we visited, including a one-way system. The bar area, with tables, connects to a larger, high-ceilinged room overlooking the small brewery and distillery. Tables here were suitably cleaned and well spaced.Staff was informative and efficient. We sampled the beer and enjoyed it very much. The food - beef and pulled pork - was really delicious and complemented perfectly the brewery product.

Being real ale enthusiasts we researched this place beforehand and from the start we were made to feel so welcome. Everything Covid-19 on point and the staff were brilliant, always watching out for people coming and going. Michaela with the blue hair was lovely and the guy who checked us in was great too :) We got slightly drunk on the Street Light Porter, the taster board and the killer Stout a bit too early - we got comfortable and they were just too good! We were staying a very long way from here, gutted we didn't make it back for dinner because in the end we walked for miles and ate nothing, but it was too late by then. I would love to move this brew pub to Colchester or for these guys to branch out our way - you are doing everything so right and we are sadly lacking a great brew pub like this. If we go through Canterbury again this will be our first stop.

Popped in there recently for a quick drink during the day.....was very quiet as was the whole of Canterbury. All social distancing rules observed. Staff were very friendly and even took the time to stop and have a chat. Good selection of drinks....would recommend trying some of their gins. Place exceptionally clean. Well worth popping in to sample the locally brewed drinks.

Stopped in here for a Sunday roast, nice place with friendly staff and a good environment. Went for the lamb, which was flavoursome and cooked well - the yorkie was lovely as was the veg. A good portion size, so nice value for money. Was hoping to add a dessert for £3 as has been eyeing a couple up when I arrived but was so full I couldn’t manage one... gutted. My partner had the beef which was also nice and he said the beer was good too.Would come back here.

Arrived to a very loud and noisy bar to find out our table was next to the door, across from the bar and next to noisy drinkers. We waited 15 mins for a drink although the drinkers at the bar where served ahead of our drinks order.....we knew then we had made a mistake! The food was excellent we both cleared our plate but atmosphere, service and attention to detail was lacking. Would not return in the immediate future.

Great little cafe with a lovely ambiance serving quality coffee and teas. Loved the cheesecake. Service was very friendly with no pressure to leave despite being just after closing time. Frankly a breathe of fresh air
