Bransford lake walk; HBH couples walk after a local lunch at The Fox. Turn off the A4103 into The Fold, an area of arts and crafts studios and local produce, drive right through and you discover a large car park. From here follow the footpath past the camp site and you emerge onto the side of a man made lake. Lots of geese, enormous fish and nature at its best. Picnic tables. A path goes all around the lake. A further path, half way around takes you down to the River Teme or remain on the upper path to hear the water and see the bat boxes high among the trees. A hidden gem.

An organisation I am affiliated with was hosted by The Fold for a weekend to conduct teaching, training exercises, camp and eat at the facility. The facility is huge, with a fishing lake, trails to explore and direct access to the river where there is a stoney beach to swim. The founder and the management of the site were such welcoming and homely people that ensured all 30 of us were well looked after by their team. The camping facilities are great and all the day time and evening events held at The Fold give it a warm and open atmosphere that welcomes all humans equally. Thank you for hosting us!

Disappointed. Very limited choice for lunch.. Frittata very small slice ( am told it tasted nice) but served with a few lettuce leaves, ( I mean a few) no colour on garnish. Looked lost on the plate. Expensive for what it was. Good parking.

I like that this place is veggie, I love the ethos… I don’t love the current menu. Menu has been reduced down to just toasties, sandwiches and soup, at least that was all I could fund on the lunch menu. This place has such potential and I know there has been a change of hands lately… I just hope this means changes are on their way! Also… when advertising open at 9am please actually be open or actually have breakfast foods as last time I tried to pop in before a haircut at the salon, they had no bread until a member of staff was coming in at 10am. Just open at 10 then…?!

The first thing to note is that despite what may have been reviewed in the past, this is entirely vegan and vegetarian. Not a problem per se, but it would be good to show an up-to-date menu on their website, so that people know what to expect. However, I frankly would not recommend the place. The building is lovely. The staff are friendly enough, although a little slow and bumbling. The coffee was passable (non decaf) but v v small, £3.50 for something of circa 250ml or less. The decaf was pretty terrible. But the food. I don’t know if I have the vocabulary to cover this. We ordered one scrambled egg on granary toast and one home made hummus and greens on granary toast. Sounds simple and wholesome? Not at all. For both of us, the toast was the thinnest I have ever seen - I had half expected thick lovely bread, lightly toasted. No, v v thin sliced bread, barely toasted and cold. The scrambled eggs were more accurately burnt omelette messed up and served on the toast. Not appealing and less than half consumed by my husband. The hummus was awful. I thought after the first couple of mouthfuls that there was too much salt and it was quite heavy on lemon, too. I went for a third mouthful and still wish, several hours later that I had not. That third mouthful was full of lumps of rock salt. I nearly spat it out on the spot, but that is just not my way. I put my cutlery down. I could not face another bite. Immediately after, my husband also got a mouthful of rock salt. He likes salt far more than I do, and that still nearly made him sick on the spot. Absolutely terrible. I wish I had something redeeming to say. I don’t think we have ever left somewhere where both of us have left our food, but there was no option. We spent £18 and wish we had never visited.

This place should be listed for all the activities available, not just the cafe. There is also a good farm shop and three gift shops selling interesting and local products.Close by - easy access from the main car park at the rear of the buildings - is a choice of two walking trails - one along a disused railway line and one around a lovely lake. There are picnic tables at the lake - would be a great place on a warm summer day.

I’m not sure whether I’m missing something as the other reviews are very good. The menu was very limited, 3 types of sandwich (all vegetarian), a soup and a tart. We were ignored as we stood in the doorway unsure whether we could just find a table or had to wait to be seated with current covid restrictions. Service was unfriendly and slow. All in all, wasn’t overly impressed

We are making an effort to visit smaller establishments to help keep them afloat in these difficult circumstances. The hygiene standards were high - the farm shop was being constantly wiped down and there were clear signs directing customers to the toilets for hand-washing before interacting with the shop or cafe. We found plenty of nice bits in the farm shop (fresh bread, milk and various staples were readily available), and then picked up some takeaway lunch from the almost-empty cafe, boxed in compostable cardboard. We were delighted with the quality of the food - even the side salads were fantastic, but a special shout out goes to the chips which hardly made it home once we had tried them. The two cakes we tried were also extremely moist and high quality. It's obvious a difficult time to go out but if you are planning to get in some food purchases or to visit somewhere for lunch, do consider The Fold.

The Fold is a perfect location to multi task! My elderly father enjoys reading his paper in the friendly, light cafe with a latte and cake , whilst I walk my dogs around the lake and nature trail which adjoin the Fold. He is now addicted to Gill’s flapjack which he rates as “ excellent “. As a bit of an Egon Ronay and flapjack connoisseur this is top praise indeed! However, don’t be disappointed if it is not available on your visit; the other homemade cakes are delicious. Enjoy your visit. It’s a great relaxing place.

An impromptu visit on our way home for a late lunch. The Fold provides an ideal spot for a quick lunch. Casual dining area, ordering food from the counter. Good wholesome menu items, freshly prepared and served with a smile. Having ordered our food, Frittata with smoked salmon and salad, Bacon and Chicken salad and a portion of thick cut chips we waited for the food to arrive. From this point food was slow arriving, they forgot the extra portion of smoked salad and the bacon/chicken salad was lacking imagination and chicken (3 to 4 tiny pieces) However the manager was apologetic and brought an extra large portion of smoked salmon.

We loved our first visit to The Fold today. I say first, because we’ll definitely be coming back. The staff couldn’t have been kinder, letting us have choices from the lunch menu, even though we turned up past 3 o'clock. We were in need of some nourishing comfort food, so when I heard the words Fish Finger Sandwich, I knew that would be just the thing. We weren’t disappointed either. It was utterly delicious! My husband and I loved the homemade fish fingers and tartare sauce and the granary bread was soft and fresh. The side salad was a perfect accompaniment and went far beyond what you would normally expect.

Visited here with my children. My 10 year son summed it up when he “didn’t fancy anything” when he looked at the menu. My 11 year old daughter had a fish finger sandwich... which she couldn’t eat because the fish was “disgusting”. I made my son try it to see if it was just my daughter being fussy but he agreed it was “not nice at all”. I had a cheese scone - which was incredibly dry and a chicken ceasar salad, which was drowning in dressing. Drinks were expensive. When the 10 year old comments on the price of a drink you know it’s expensive! Staff were lovely but food really poor. Won’t be returning for food but the surrounding workshops were lovely.

First off i will say that The Fold was a lovely venue with some lovely staff, unfortunately the food did not live up to the expectations across all 3 courses, first i had thai fish cakes, which was basically just fried fish and sweet chilli sauce from any given shop, no ‘cake’ to be seen and no seasoning either, second course was beef curry with sticky rice, the rice was below average for both taste and texture and was like rice pudding rice, the sauce was okay, but the beef itself out of the 5 pieces i was given 3 of them were just pieces of fat other squidgy parts, finally the dessert was mango, mango puree, cream and pudding rice (now it makes sense) which was the best part of my meal because of the mango, all other areas like the cream, puree and rice as mentioned before, nowhere near the quality of dessert expected for the price.

Nipped in here for some lunch on the drive home. Tasty cheese sandwich with ginger and pear pickle and what I think was locally grown salad. It sounds like this café does a lot for the local community by hosting different workshops, themed nights and integrating the disabled/mentally ill judging by a poster I seen on their wall. There is a nice organic, fair trade shop next door selling food/drinks/some cosmetics and what appeared to be a nature trail/walk going out the back. Good vegetarian options and the take-out flapjack I had tasted gorgeous.

The quality and taste of the food was really very good , and the vegetables are grown on the site. But lately it's lost it's way, this time we had booked for Sunday lunch and stated that one of us was gluten free. When we arrived the menu blackboard had GF next to the roast lamb, so we both ordered the lamb. It arrived complete with a Yorkshire Pudding, so hardly gluten free. It was also fairly cold and had only a smidgeon of gravy. The vegetables were excellent as usual but that was the best part of our lunch. Sadly disappointing.

We waited half an hour for very average overpriced food. It wasn't busy. Staff nice but hopeless and chef needs a training course in cooking poached eggs and customer service. Won't be going again. Avoid if you want what you ordered or are in a hurry.

It wasn't initially clear as to whether it was table service or go to the counter --- once past that minor hurdle by being informed by a regular we ordered two lovely meals which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would certainly deviate off route again to visit here

Stayed at nearby hotel but had spotted the Fold cafe on the way there and as we prefer organic food when available decided to try it for breakfast. We had granola and yoghurt with fresh fruit floor starters.

Stopped by for lunch since this place was recommended by some locals. Small portions but lovely food. Desserts were excellent. Staff were friendly and we received good service. Would recommend.

I visited for lunch with my husband on Friday. Last time we went we had a grazing plate which was available in large or small with a variety of salads and vegetables. Always excellent and a brilliant place to go for vegetarians. This time the menu had changed and, for the same price,

The most appalling food yet. The plates were small with a meagre piece of pie, about 6 tiny chips (Horrendously Greasy), a slither of fennel x2 tiny bits of veg and a salad leaf which was dressed. The only difference for my wife, she had sautéed potatoes, again a very small amount which we're disgustingly greasy. This has got to be the worst place yet for food. We won't be going again. £11 per meal, think it was money for old rope to them. This was mentioned to a member of staff at the table and guess what, no one from the management came to speak to us, they had already had our money! We left having had an expensive greasy snack and went elsewhere where we had a generous cream tea. Had we have gone to Waitrose, it would have cost us a fraction of the cost. My advice would be to steer clear and find somewhere nice for food, plenty around in Worcester & Malvern. In the past this was the place to eat, obviously it had changed its staff & management who are clearly not dong a very good job of it!!

Stayed at the Bank House hotel over the road but had breakfast at The Fold to make sure we tasted fresh local produce - that's exactly what they serve. Very friendly staff who are more than happy to explain whats good to see and visit in the area. The menu is varied and full of interesting twists and unusual combinations. Most dishes are prepared on site from fruit and vegetables grown in their own garden whilst cakes and breads are baked by a local bakery. We stopped by one day for lunch too and had a delicious onion tart with salad. Indoor and outside seating areas make it a great place all year round. A sign on the wall says "don't ask why good food is so expensive, ask why junk food is so cheap" should give an indication of the pricing.

Loved the choice of food on offer - ate there on two mornings and also took some of their excellent cake away with us.

Sadly most of the outlets were closed on Sunday which is a shame and a missed opportunity for the owners. I would suggest weekends are the busiest periods. Wanted a small snack such as a salad, but the cafe only sold Sunday Lunches. There are no signs to indicate this, so only had a coffee.

We had a really good mother's day experience at The Fold today. The Beef was excellent as were all the deserts and cakes. The Roast Spuds were slightly hard and it was a shame all the meals didn't come out together but the staff were apologetic and helpful and friendly throughout. Some Sunday Lunches can be a real let down but this wasn't the case. It was very good indeed. If you haven't been to the Fold then do, its a great place doing great things. Many thanks!

I've been calling in here when in the area approx. once a month for over 12 months and enjoying the excellent 'The Fold Breakfast'. Not the cheapest but very good quality and tasty. About a month ago I was extremely disappointed to see on the door on entering: 'See our New Menu'. I asked for a breakfast only to be told we don't do the Fold Breakfast anymore. So on checking the menu all the basic ingredients are still available in various other options (sandwiches etc) so I asked for bacon, sausage, egg and toast on a plate. After an initial 'not sure if I can do that' the woman at the till goes and checks with the cook who said yes OK.

The best roast lunch I have had in any restaurant. The roast potatoes were perfectly cooked and the veg was exquisite, especially the glazed carrots and the dish was topped off with a mouth watering thyme jus. By the chefs own admission, the beef was a little overcooked and I would personally like a little fat, but this certainly didn't detract from its flavour or tenderness and its seasoned mustard crust was excellent.

Had a delicious Beef Sunday roast dinner at The Fold today. Crispy roast potatoes, sweet lovely carrots and tender beef with a lovely yorkshire pudding. Honestly, the best roast I've ever had in a restaurant. It was fresh and lovely and like a proper home cooked dinner. Dessert was a lovely berry meringue. Environment was nice and relaxed, was made to feel comfortable with my toddler who was helpfully given crayons, toys and paper to play with. Both chefs ensured we were happy with our meals, all staff polite and helpful. Was very impressed with both chefs being able to tell me exactly were all the produce I was eating had been sourced and the age of the cow at slaughter and where it had come from (10 miles down the road). Best place to eat in Malvern, will definitely return.

This is a gem of a find, we visited mid morning and considering the location, it was really busy. there is a good variety of artisan shops and car parking is good. I would love to visit again and to have the opportunity to wander. Unfortunately on this visit we didn't have time.

Ate lunch here and it was great. The mixed salad plate was a really enjoyable mix of salad types, all of which were fresh and tasty. I was full by the end of it - and it was all so healthy! The wife had a beef sandwich - that was OK but nothing special. The coffee was also good, and there is a great little farm shop next door selling high quality (if pricey) local goods (bread, pickles, etc) and a small but interesting wine selection. Have been before and will return - go for the specials or the salads and you will not be disappointed.

The whole team went above and beyond to deliver a great night for my 50th birthday bash. The dedication and attention to detail was 10/10 throughout the whole night. The food was exceptional and to execute 3 courses for 37 guests was just amazing. Special thanks to the whole team – bar staff & chefs and Nibs & Laura to make it a memorable night!

Spot on service and food! We visited here on a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was busy and despite this, we had excellent service. The food was brilliant, I had the Dragon Pie and it was quite honestly the best pie I have eaten in a long time.
