One of the best pubs on the south coast. A local favourite, wonderful atmosphere and great selection of local beers that routinely change, giving us variety in such a small and humble location. Great selection of bar snacks, food trucks and local restaurants and takeaways to access food during or after.

Great selection of ales and ciders. Friendly atmosphere. Well worth 90 minute train ride to visit this wonderful drinking establishment.

My favorite pub in Hove! Iam a Gluten free person and there is always an option. More often than not there is a GF cask bitter or pale ale on as well as a good choice of ciders. Staff are great and atmosphere very relaxed and friendly.

A pub where the emphasis is on quality products and conversation. Don't show up expecting live sports, a jukebox or a pool table. Bar, some tables, a toilet like the one downstairs at your in-laws. Sometimes there is a food truck outside, which varies from pizza and burgers to veggie Indian grub and tacos. The food that's there is always high quality but check before you arrive if that's a deal breaker for you, as it's only available certain days (otherwise there is a robust array of bat snacks). Best pub in Portlslade? They'll argue they're technically in Hove, but yes, it is.

Lovely little pub, just beer or wine, no spirits ....but my!! What lovely beers they are. Very lucky to be a local.

A nice bar. It was very busy when we went in. It felt very locals based so not completely comfortable for new comers.

Five of us went to the Foghorn for drinks while in Hove. Service was good but they only serve craft beers. We tried a couple but were not impressed.

Such a lovely pub. Great selection of beers, snacks, friendliness behind the bar. We're lucky to have it on boundary road.

Really bad.Had really loud music for hours outside this pub. Can not close doors or windows because it is soooo hot. Please think about your neighbours and MAYBE inform us that you are going to have really loud,rubbish music,for hours,outside your pub.

First time in the Foghorn, have no previous experience of the venue, I thought the staff could have been more attentive and knowledge about the products to newcomers. However, the ale we purchased was very pleasant and palatable.

The reasons why both the Watchmaker's Arms and the Foghorn claim the Camra Branch Pub of the Year (Brighton & South Downs Branch) for 2023 as winner and runner-up is quite simple: good beer, good service, good clientele. They're the only two micropubs in the immediate Brighton & Hove area - though there are a few taprooms in Brighton, too. Both are well worth a visit.

Can not rate this micro pub enough. Great selections of wines, beers and Ciders, whether it be local or further afield this pub caters for all. No music interrupting conversations and such a laid back attitude that made you feel right at home. I would definitely recommend and I will certainly be back for a other visit very soon 😊

Super cool and cozy pub with outdoor seating and a great IPA and cask selection. Staff is friendly and approachable and atmosphere is lively but relaxed. Enjoyed quite a few pints in the sun on a Sunday, I will definitely go back! Highly recommended!

This pub has bought quality beers and ales to Portslade. Here it is about the flavour and variety of the beers. As well as the amazing company. The occasionally visiting food trucks at the weekend are always top quality and interesting. From smash burger to African cuisine and vegan toasties. Scampi fried, pretzel pieces, meat sticks and pickled eggs amongst the bar snacks inside. The pub has an outside seating area on the pavement that catches the sun during the day with people happy to share benches and tables. Inside it’s cosy and full of chatter.A small bar area and seating area with books and games to keep you amused. You can also end up sharing with some interesting characters. It’s not a trad pub, there’s plenty of those on this road.It’s still a social hub with the very greatly appreciated selection of really tasty beer. As well as the keg and draught all kept impeccably there a large range of cans and bottles of craft ales, always a good selection of interesting draught ciders and some well picked wines as well. Owner and staff are lovely and welcoming to and will always let you try a sample before you buy if you can’t tell your NEIPA from your WCIPA! (Spoiler, they’re both great)

Great Ale at reasonable prices but closes to early and lacks the atmosphere of a real traditional Pub.

Nice micropub, always have a good selection of beers. They aren't open everyday at all times though, so check opening hours.

My first visit, quite full and you could feel a definate lack of air circulation, all windows shut with condensation on them, just ripe for Covid spread, Beers were good, drank mine outside.

None of the pubs in the top 10 'The Best Bars And Pubs in Brighton' are the best pubs in Brighton as far as I can see. However, The Foghorn deserves to be. Very well kept beer, sold at a fair price, run and patronised by beer drinking enthusiasts. Small but not cramped, quiet but full of people, there is a warm feeling here. It's right by a bus stop, it's not far from the train station, and you can get two pints of a variety of premium beer far more cheaply than one of the 'Best pubs in Brighton'.

Great Micropub in Portslade just a few minutes south of the station

It isn't flashy, it isn't trendy, it isn't lavish. It's just a small place where people go who like beer. It isn't expensive, it isn't in a part of Hove where it would get the most custom, but, it is friendly, and busy, and full of people who just want a decent pint. You could spend all afternoon here. I wish I had.

One of my favourite low key spots. Well rounded craft beer selection including a constant selection of stout and porters. Prices are good for the quality of product served by a team behind the bar who feel happy to be there. Definitely worth a visit.

The Foghorn is simply superb. It has four or five classic real craft ales, plus keg lagers, stouts, ciders and wines. The atmosphere is also lovely, with lots of pets and kids during the day, very friendly staff, and best of all on a sunny day outside benches and tables where you can watch the Portslade world go by.Don't miss it if you're in the area!

My local. Great beer which gets rotated regularly and the staff put up with me always asking to taste different beers before committing to a pint! Very reasonable prices too, highly recommended.

Great beer on tap and the owners Tommy, Niall and Tim are really welcoming and the whole place has such a nice community vibe; have met some really nice people and enjoyed great beer. Love that they have guest local food available on different days.

Really good friendly bar. No music, no fruit machines, no TV. Just a nice place to sup a pint and socialise.

£7 a pint and I never even got to set foot inside the pub. Do yourself a favour and go get your drinks from Aldi up the road and go sit in the park or seaside. Much cheaper and better view.
