Fantastic value on a Friday night for tea...two huge burgers for the price of one. The menu is very child friendly with all their favourites and the staff are polite helpful and friendly especially Abi, Tanya, Nath, Jacob and Anamika. X

Great evening as always, vert pleasant and relaxing ... no fuss and well looked after by Abi and Jacob ... why go home!! Sampled the menu, well priced and very reasonable value for quality and quantity of the food. We will be coming back again and again ...

Abby was brilliant from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and she was professional, fast and efficient😀 Food was excellent, I had the chicken pasta salad with jacket potato and my friend had the vegan chocolate torte with a cup of tea.

Driven up from crumpsall Walked in all tables sticky and grubby not one tables was not grubby so walked straight back out customer info the machine to put your vehicle reg in for car park was not working and went to cozy cafe in edgeley much cleaner and food was nice

Sorry food was obviously pre cooked and not its best. Used to come regularly but too many bad experience. Please please get back to when you opened.

Staff very friendly as usual. Sadly the tables were covered with glasses cutlery and crockery that had not been collected after use . lots of food that had fallen on the floor from diners and not been cleaned up. Disappointed as spending money to drink or eat in a shabby setting was not good. Have been coming for years so sad to see this decline in standards. No reflection on the staff= they work hard , just need more of them!

Called in for the 1st time (after a recommendation). Couldn't fault the place & staff were fantastic. Fish & chips amazing & lasagna looked great. Will defo be back.

Positive first staff are friendly. Ordered 2 mains and 2 pudding plus drinks. Really surprised when food arrived 5 mins later. Chips were very greasy and didn't taste great at all, peas also very odd, pie was microwaved to death, super hot and all the pastry soft, awful. The fish, supposedly Cod was very grey and again tasted very odd. We both concluded neither could be eaten. I offered to pay for drinks and mains, ditching the dessert. In fairness staff refunded all bar the drinks. We upped and left all done in 15 mins. I appreciate this is pub chain food but it simply was inedible, sorry but worst meal I have ever had.

Food is great pub food but management particularly impressive. Have a disabled son and they made sure we had good place to sit for him. TV screen in booths kept him happy. Food orders taken swiftly and food quick to arrive.

We stopped here on way home for a late lunch and was very surprised. Normally the big chains don’t appeal to me as it’s all very generic and standard but today the service was great and being in hospitality it’s rare you see a manager actually doing their bit but he did and was very pleasant. The food was excellent and did expect the amount we got for the money we paid will defo visit again

Always a popular place with the local community and on a recent visit I could not fail to notice what a great team is working there. Service was quick, food was tasty and observed some excellent customer service skills where a staff member advised a customer on how to get the best value for money utilising the specials menu. I wanted to treat my wife for a birthday dinner, I ordered unusual beef and fish meals. Nicely done and packaged well. It was even a take away which is not very common with Pubs. My wife loved it and everything was so neat. Thanks guys, will definitely call again. Was even surprised with the low price, I paid half of what I had budgeted for.

I eat here each week with friends and we all love it. There is an outside playground for children and they have free children’s entertainment every Sunday. It has an adult bar area that plays football matches. There is lots of free car parking on hard flat ground.

Felt very safe at The Flying Horse, everywhere clean with a designated staff member ensuring the pub was safe and hygienic. All the staff incredibly friendly and hard working. Will definitely be returning.

First time we’ve been out since COVID. As soon as we got there the new safety provisions were laid out to us at the door as to what we can and cannot do at the moment. After going through the many options on the menu we ordered food which came very fast and all tasted amazing. The girls who brought the food were wearing masks too. Definitely be happy to go back again. Everything seemed to be in hand and felt safe with all the risks.

Called in lunchtime there,was a guy on the door,and an old couple were trying to get a table for some lunch but we're having some trouble with this app you have to download a man said he would help them but this horrible guy said no they have to sort it themselves what an ignorant Pratt whoever you are you should be,ashamed what about were all in this together what about being kind and helping each other.this poor couple left and,said they'd cook something at home.you pubs better be very careful because one day this virus will be over and people don't forget without customers your nothing so to the management have a word with your staff and educate them on the,art of being nice it's not difficult after all you,are in the business of hospitality are you not.

Obnoxious Manager! Come here quite often as it’s convenient! Well never again!! Myself, my daughter and my grandchildren a total of 6 of us arrived on Sunday 8th around 3pm, it was extremely busy (always a good sign)! We found the only place to sit a booth with a tv so the the kids could watch it! We got a high hair. All good so far, until the so called manager bellowed across the room that we could not have the high chair or the push chair where they were, I said ok, then please find us some where else to sit, he shouted his response .... we don’t do that in here ... to which I replied thats ok .. it is busy and there is nowhere else to sit amazing .. he was still bellowing ... fine sit there I ain’t serving you then!!! I did call him a rude obnoxious person and I thought he needed lessons on Think he how to speak to people!! Not once did I raise my voice or swear at this so called manager! We promptly got up and left there, angry and humiliated! It’s not the first time this man has been rude and obnoxious... you can let it go sometimes, but enough is enough! No one should be subjected to that rude obnoxious behaviour from anyone ... especially from a manager!! If you don’t want children to sit in the booths why have the TV’s set to the children’s channel ????

Had a meal and a drink before heading off on our jollies from Manchester Airport.its only 10-15 mins from terminal two,and we had a great meal.they have a lot of offers,on certain days,but overall good prices,decent beers,nice surroundings,and really nice staff.Shame we did not find this before.three hour limit in the car park,but what a good place to stop before turning up at the airport.we use manchester a lot,so will be stopping here again.

We visited waiting for a flight and got a steak sizzler and scape meal with free starter and pudding. The food was great, big portions, cooked how I like steak and the chocolate cake was massive and rich. Pints a good price and fast friendly service. Would go back before a holiday definitely!

We decided to try Christmas Day lunch here and were more than satisfied. Friendly greeting on arrival and seated straight away. They had clearly noted our preference for seating location and obligedFood was delicious and the main was more than plentiful. The turkey was cooked to perfection. Good timing between courses (which I was concerned about following a previous visit when we were very rushed.) All the staff were cheerful, accommodating and professional which created a very relaxed atmosphere. Very impressed with the whole day. Huge well done!Just one point to note - they could have turned the heating down a bit. It was very warm and I wasn't the only one to think so.

Came in with my family this evening and was served very quickly, within 5 minutes the food started to arrive like a train, MELISSA Was our waitress and she has done them proud, she couldn’t do enough for us and even entertained our 2 year old. Food was lovely and hot and very tasty. I will definitely return.

Welcomed in to a pleasant atmosphere and served quickly. Our starters came quickly for us to enjoy with our wine served at correct room temperature. The steaks were well trimmed,tasty and perfectly cooked ,by the chef, to our preferences. Looking forward to returning.

I’m a regular visitor to the flying horse in Heald Green. I cannot fault food service and staff attitude. Bar staff are attentive, prompt and friendly (Dan, kara and Connor) and waiting on staff (in particular Summer who was kind enough to offer me a pound coin so my toddler could play the machine) are always so pleased to help. Waitress Melissa always has a smile for you and makes you feel very welcome. Honestly have an excellent experience every time I come here and even feel welcome with my nightmare 3 year old! :)

I’ve been coming here a while now and i have to say the food is pretty nice decent pub grub and the vegan burger is absolutely beautiful I am not a vegan myself but I have tried this before when with vegan friends the mature manger is lovely and very helpful! They are more than happy to help with any requests as I have a autistic nephew and he can be fussy when dining they are more than happy to make chances to dishes very helpful!

Staying at nearby premier Inn. Didn't fancy the beefeater so walked here. Standard hungry horse fodder. Ordered on the app so got a discount. Food was ok . Service was ok. Standard for hungry horse lots of youngsters walking around dressed as waiters.

Came here for a nice afternoon with my sister and our children. Ordered at the bar I walked from the bar back to my seat before I even sat down my starters where placed in front of me. All the other starters came. Before we had finished our starters our main meals came and there wasn’t enough room on the table so they where trying to take other plates away. My sister was half way through her starters and asked for 10 mins to finish it. Three minutes later her meal came again. We also sat someone where we couldn’t have the push hair when she asked her she could put it they said anywhere and walked off. We have to leave the pushchair outside. After finishing our meal we sat for 15 minutes before the table was cleared. I didn’t expect the food to be amazing as it’s supposed to be cheap and cheerful but it was worse than average. Like it had all been warmed up. The male manager is just in a rush and clearly uninterested in his customers.

I’m always keen about trying new pubs and my girlfriend has been here several times. We came on a Tuesday afternoon and it was fairly busy for the time of day. The pub is really spacious and the menu for me is amazing with such a wide variety I was in my element with the food and drink choices.

I have visited here today with me family because it was my birthday I have been here several times and all the times I have been has be ok a few times I have asked for little changes to my order this time I asked for beans instead of peas they said they will take the peas off but I would have to pay for the beans and they have when I have asked for fry’s and not chips this is the only hungry horse that dose this and I have visited these pubs all over the country and it’s little things like that makes you go back so I would rather travel a bit further to get what I want

I’ve visited a few pubs in this chain and it’s a common theme they have cutlery you need to bleach before you use and filthy, sticky tables. It wouldn’t be as bad if the food was great but that’s only just edible. The whole chain needs a revamp and a few lessons on cleanliness

Very busy restaurant/Pub and very good value for your money, It was a nice day so we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine whilst we had our lunch We have been several times but can.t recommend anything on the menu as it is so varied

We came for a meal out and found this place very cheap for it location nice big outside seating and can watch the planes coming in to land as it's right under the flight path, all the staff were great very helpful and pub was clean and tidy, we ordered and food came quick enough was hot and plenty for the price we paid couple round of drinks and 4 main meals all for £40 will definitely come back again

This restaurant is not a venue for sophisticated gourmet dining. However - when we are looking after our 5 year old grandson it is our favourite destination. The place is ideally suited to young families with a fine secure outdoor play area with plenty of seating. Inside, the large restaurant serves a very varied menu of well cooked food in alarmingly large portions by efficient and friendly staff and the wine is good. The prices are even better.

Fancied a breakfast and came here however the worst breakfast I paid for in my life!! Bacon was full of fat and the mushroom look like it was cooked for 1 hour! Had a check back from a staff and I stated the mushroom was crispy and she stated she get a fresh one however she never came back!! Great service!!!!!!

Went in to watch a game of football on a Thursday evening. When I arrived at 7pm I asked the barman "is the game on tonight?", "yes" was the reply. As the game was just kicking off (at about 8pm) they turned the volume down to zero. They were having a quiz night. Lots of people were asking the barman "can you turn the volume up?". "The manager wont let us" was the reply. I asked who the manager was and I asked him is there any chance of turning the volume up? Almost snarling he said its quiz night and stormed off. Two questions 1) Why was I not told an hour before the game that it was quiz night and that took priority over the footie (I enjoy quizzes so would have had no problem with that, but would have had time to move on to another pub). and 2) Why does the manager have such an ignorant attitude with obviously no customer/people skills whatsoever? Needless to say we finished our drinks pronto and moved on and will not be going back unless I see reviews are posted more positively in the future.

Me and my partner went to the flying horse today and had 2 steak and onion bagutte meals. Wow they were really big portions. Between us we only managed to eat 1 portion, but chris the manager packed the rest of our meal to take home. I will definitely be ordering that meal again as it was absolutely delicious and worth the money. Everyone at the flying horse are brilliant to us and make us feel welcome every time with a great service with a smile.

Me and my husband went to the flying Horse for the first time yesterday afternoon as my daughter sent me a link for their vegan menu .

I have been coming to this pub for about 3 years now, and i cannot complain once. The service is above and beyond. By the time you have got back to your table after ordering your food is there ready and piping hot! This pub runs so smoothly. All the staff are fantastic and even the manager gets stuck in, which is always a good sign of a fantastic team moral. Everything about this pub is spot on! See you again very soon!

Visited on the way to Manchester airport. I ordered at the bar, really pleasant staff, walked to my table where my family were sitting, sat down, and the food came out.

Got a cheap room, prior to an early flight, but beef eater attached, while ok, is quite expensive. So found the nearest Hungry Horse pub, never been let down, and this time was no different.

we came as a family wow what a shock food was cold service was cold no customer services skills, i complained last time but gave it a 2nd shot last time we didnt even get a response from out complaint, theres no alternstive swap changes to meals i.e if you cant eat chips swap for a jacket potatoe the staff dont act bothered, they talk amongst them selves and ignore customers,

I Visited this restaurant today 09/04 I was surprised how cheaper the food it was 2 people,we paid £20.26. mini mix grill, steak,two drinks one plate of chicken wings .The food it was great as well. My order it was mixed up but the manager come without discussion changed it without a problem.well done guys.

Came here for a family dinner. Asked for a bottle of sweet wine to be given a bottle that had some already out of it. We questioned it to be told No it has not so asked him to check an other bottle and the response was oh yeah it is. For then the starter came out within minutes of ordering and before getting half way through they kept trying to take the starter plates.then to be greeted with our main meal when we were not finished with starters so we swiped what we could of the starter plate to finish. So we proceeded to eat the mains for ie burger sizzler combo to be done on a plate but refused point blank to process my request where it came out on a skillet with burnt food and the rest of the food was cold and had to be taken back to be re-done.when it returned 2 minutes later where they had just scraped it onto a plate and done a fresh steak that was still walking around the field it just needed a bit of grass to feed on. To ask to be cooked a bit more to be microwaved to medium well to end up leaving half of my meal for the staff not even to care about my response as I tried explaining to be walked away from.

Brought my mum here for a meal from walking in and ordering food we was greeted with a smile. Food was lovely service was spot on! But most of all Nick behind the bar made our visit great he was making us laugh he’s very professional and knows how to keep his customers happy. So I thought I’d leave a review seen as not many people leave good ones but soon as something bad happens they do.

And just as good as the first. Reasonable drink and food prices. The pub is clean and the staff were polite and helpful. The meals were freshly cooked. For the money you would struggle to find better value.

The atmosphere in The Flying horse was absolutely amazing!! Lovely food for a reasonable price. Staff were very welcoming especially the lovely girl who works on bar called Keira.

Me and the family went to have dinner on a weekday evening and it was amazing. Absolutely delicious. The girl who served us (Kiera) was fantastic! Couldn't do enough.

The food portions are really large and we were really impressed with how good value it is. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the ambience is airport themed which is pleasant, given how it’s right next door!

The barman was welcoming initially until we tried to pay by Scottish notes, he took the cash and to check with someone else whom he claimed to be the manager and refused the cash on his return announcing that they didn't accept Scottish notes, we only had Scottish money with us. The manager was walking behind us when he reiterated that they didn't accept Scottish or Irish notes due to the amount of fakes,, when my wife said that there are more English fakes the managers reply was "well that's the way it is darlin"

We had a £5 special 5oz rump. Last week it was great however tonight mine was just a lump of fat and gristle. I asked for it to be changed. The so called manager said he would swap it chicken or ribs but I could not have another steak. He said a ll rump was fatty! After a heated conversation he took my meal away and returned and slapped a fiver on the table! I went again to speak to him his words were "Well what do you expect for a fiver " he was a disgrace. I left really upset.

We ordered our food which was 3 meals, it came in a reasonable time with Connor delivering the food he was polite and really nice engaging conversation and checking with us if the food was okay. when we finished Connor came straight away and took our plates and asked if we needed anything else and if we did to give him a shout. Great customer service you really should employ more people like Connor.

I ordered my food and it came in minutes also it tasted really good for the cheap price that it was. The lad who brought it to me was polite and he provided a great service, I think his name was Connor. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

We came tonight with 7 children for a late birthday meal, the food was all correct and came out fast, the start were lovely with us all, the manager was welcoming and polite, we left some birthday cake and all the kitchen staff were happy, thankyou for a lovely visit and making a little boys birthday special.

Today is my birthday so we decided to go out for a late breakfast. My partner ordered the curry and rice and I ordered a big plate all day breakfast. They both arrived within afew minutes so definately not cooked fresh. Everything luke warm. My partners curry was the size of a childrens meal but she said it was okay. My big breakfast might have been big to a some people but ive had bigger in a greasy spoon for half the price. 3 slices of cheap 50% fat bacon hidden under two eggs from the smallest chickens on the planet. The eggs at least where tasty. The bacon was covered in black juices obviously from a dirty grill. Two lukewarm things described as sausages but deffinately not even up the the standard of wall bangers. Half a small tomato and a mush. Couldnt call it a mushroom it was too small. Oh and the beans, well the were about two spoonfuls. There were also whats supposed to be two slices of toast. Bread must be traingular these days because im sure it was on slice of bread cut in two. Oh I nearly forgot the hash browns, three little disks about 3cm in diameter. As I write this my partner feels really unwell. The Flying horse started out so damn good we've been dozens of times. Sadly now it seems the pilots ejected and its crashed and burned.

Went in for a meal today, order came within 20 minutes ...down hill from there! I ordered 8oz steak with side extras, 2 bites in gristle....cut the steak up, well TRIED! Full of gristle I told the waitress she apologised went to tell management...all I wanted was an apology , manager walked right past me, I then asked waitress if she reported regarding my steak, she said yes ...so left our drinks and came away, absolutely no way to run a business! On way out spoke with another customer told them I thought manager would come see me, he said ..good luck with that. So my family and friends get togethers will be in another restaurant.....disgusting!

Drinks and food ordered at the bar, went to the loo, and within 4 minutes the food for 5 people was on the table, there is no way in this world these meals were cooked fresh. If the door from the kitchen was open we'd be able to hear the microwaves pinging. Cheap so you get what you pay for.

Visited the flying horse for few drinks with friends. It's good for kids and has a big fenced off garden with playing area.its not the best place for food tho,it's cheap enough for food but I would eat elsewhere it's average at best for food.

We were back in Cheadle on some business and decided to visit 'The Flying Horse' as we have visited a few times before and have never had a problem.

Becoming quite a regular here now. Only because the food is really good and the prices are even better. Never had a bad meal, always left happy and stuffed!!

Took my female staff out for food and drinks before a night out in Manchester. Complained about a meal and got pure attitude off staff and manager. Food left at a table to be told “your foods there, that’s the number you gave” sorry our mistake! We were at the next table.....not miles away! your team my friend need a serious lesson in customer service and so do you....the worse part for me was going to the toilet and the staff talking about us in not a nice way. We spent a lot of money and the service we received was totally unacceptable.

A lovely day out , lovely food and the staff are great especially Rochelle a great host who made us feel very welcomed

Don't normally review but after seeing all the negative reviews was hesitating going but it was really nice experience eating here and can't see why they is so many bad reviews. Service was good place was packed and we serviced very fast within 15mins and no one had any complaints of the food great portion size love hungry horse meal sizes can't be beat :)
