The Flying Boat Café & Deli in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Delicious tapas in the evenings. Incredibly flexible for gluten free diet. Brilliant service. We sat outside which was beautiful. A real highlight of my summer.

Sorry to be the reason this place is temporarily closed. I laid pipe real good in the bathroom, bust the floor through. Was a white out and I had to ride out on my horse. Be back with the check to pay off my tab, they best have some good Guinness next time or I won’t bring my nice chocolate lab

Fast service. Now the cafe is open until 2 p.m., we came a couple of minutes later and were not denied service! Very nice! Delicious coffee!

Being closed during May whilst the island is incredibly busy is ridiculous. Most absurd business decision I’ve seen.

Clean bathrooms. Nice atmosphere. Decent coffee and excellent cakes. Wifi ok.

The pumpkin spice latte sold it to me. They serve drinks in Loveramics cups (my favourite) and the cakes were really nice too! :)

Excellent decaffeinated coffee appetising selection of goodies to go with it. Seating indoors or out. A welcome stop between Tresco Abbey Gardens and New Grimsby.

Crab sandwich is amazing. Nice selection of picnic goodies to take away. Service was rather slow despite not being busy.

Nothing wrong with the food, but overpriced. £15 for a cheese toasty you’d get for £7 anywhere else

Great service and simple dishes. The Restaurant looks like a boat bow. Dozens of little birds are waiting for you and hoping that you will drop crumbs from your sandwich on purpose. You can eat inside or outside but the location in front of the water (New Grimsby / Bryher) is very, very nice!

Friendly staff and lovely place. We had the crab sandwich as well as the ham sandwich. Both were wonderful. Stuffed with great quality ingredients and fantastic bloomer bread. Well worth it.

During our stay in late May we made use of this place several times. One of the few eateries on the island, get there early if you want a seat. Ideal place whilst waiting to get into your accommodation. Not open evenings but good selection of light meals and snacks. Very covid safe, well spaced outdoor seating limited indoors if its raining.

This place is the best. The crab sandwich is great, the fries may be the best I have ever had, the cheese box in the deli is wonderful, lovely staff and smoothies etc etc. Just wonderful.

Well presented tasty lunch picked from a good sized menu. Friendly, helpful service. We sat outside in a small courtyard, but inside looked good as well. Also go for the heritage as you're eating where the Royal Naval Air Service had their seaplane base in and after world war one.

Perfectly cooked Chargrilled Octopus and Hangar Steak. Lovely service too. Highly recommend a visit here when on Tresco

Beautifully cooked fish. Nice wine list. Very much part of the Tresco experience, which we like.

Only had coffee and cake. New French waitress served hot frothy milk with tea. I mentioned at check out, her senior (French) swore blind several times that loads of customers had hot milk with tea. What!! I was seething, should have asked for manager....ho hum. Btw the coffees and tea were only luke warm, despite the hot milk. Ruin Cafe much better.

Contemporary decor and super food with lovely views over the water to Bryher and the setting sun.

Super views from both dining room and patio. Only had a drink, but food looked good and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Delicious meals prepared with local ingredients in a fancy but not pretentious atmosphere. Decent wine selection, friendly service. Kids' buffet once a week was a big hit with our little ones. Indoor and outdoor seating. Free WiFi.

Finally they have got it right, FBC A+............... Just got back from Tresco. Liked the RUIN but LOVED the FBC. For years it’s never quite got it right. Now they have the right mix of great food, service and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and on the mark. Endre was brilliant. Engaging and excellent front of house. Victoria was so nice and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb. It may have had a stuffy image before, but now it's a great vibrant restaurant. Just what the Island needed. Looked after all our needs. The chef went the extra mile with a simple cucumber dish for my 7 year old son Archie. Made his day. All the food was exceptional. And the big secret is: The breakfast is the best on the island. Thanks so much - " Endre for President "

Food was great. Serving staff really not.

Great food and service, only downside was the price. Expected higher prices because of the Isles of Scilly but £32 for a steak is mental. Then again if you're staying on Tresco you probably aren't doing too bad for yourself so it is what it is.

Best spot to enjoy a sunset during dinner, nice service and the food is delightful for both brunch and dinner.

Fabulous view from Tresco to Bryher. Excellent seafood with super service. It may not be the cheapest but it's good!!
