Up,out and about on a dull and overcast July morning, our summers are magnificent aren't they, my twin brother and I decided to jump the train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre and visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, one pub we visited was The Fly In The Loaf Pub. I love the look of this pub, the pub looks superb, its got a great look to it,an eye catching serving bar dominates the main room, lovely furnishings and decorated tastefully throughout, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Hardman Street, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We had a study of their real ale's and in the end we both opted to have a pale ale each, served in pristine condition, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, well balanced, well crafted, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, a classic British pale ale indeed, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality pale ale. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Fly In The Loaf Pub we had a very positive experience. The Fly In The Loaf Pub is easy to locate along Hardman Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth seeking out if you're a fan of real ale's.

I went here while on a trip to Liverpool and wasn't disappointed! The burger i had there was very nice and the drink selection is endless! I have a pint of the Black Heart and my partner had a cocktail that was recommended by Sol (barman). Highly recommend this place if you're in Liverpool.

I was with a group of friends and we walked in with drinks we had got from somewhere else and were looking for somewhere to enjoy the afternoon. The bartender was incredibly rude and he started arguing with me and my friends and threatened us and said he would not serve me after asking if we could go out and finish the drinks we had and come back and pay for some at the bar (which we thought was reasonable). It was the first and last time I will go to this place, which is a shame considering I heard lots of good things about it. He was light skin, light haired, light eyes and around 5’11 and scouse, potentially early 20’s.

Had no food. Loved the decor and atmosphere, although it had been decorated and in my opinion esthetically from the outside went from very traditional and classy looking to a bit cheap and nasty complete with signs advertising shots and cheap cocktails, this didn't spoil my experience. Good beer selection. Pleasant surroundings. Definitely would return.

If there's one pub I know I'm going to visit on any trip into Liverpool City Centre I take it The Fly In The Loaf Pub now called simply The Fly,the pub has had a great makeover ,interior is superb, a very cool looking serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings, wonderful decor and furnishings, neon lite features and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Hardman Street, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We were here on a Thursday late evening, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we had a study of their beer range which I must say I was impressed with, its always a good beer range in here ,we opted to have beers from Cruzcampo Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. A big fan of this most famous of Spanish beers, its a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub, its the beer I most associate with Seville that most beautiful of Spanish city's, in fact my twin brother and I are having a week's holiday in Seville in August, a city we both adore. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Fly In The Loaf Pub we had a great time. The Fly In The Loaf Pub is easy to locate along with Hardman Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

It's now a dead fly to me. Used to be one of my favourite pubs in Liverpool but they've fully gone for a student vibe now, and killed any class it once had (in my humble opinion). The Fly on Hardman street is a superb pub that offers well priced drinks and is a great place to watch live sport. This superb place has had a refurb and look's amazing. There are many interesting fixture's and feature's and superb seating options throughout it's whole interior and many TV screens dotted throughout it's whole interior. We have been visiting here for many year's and it's still a great place to visit. It offer's a decent cask ale range and its a place that is very popular with locals and tourists and the large student population. We went here in the afternoon and it was very busy but it only took us a minute or so to get served in here.On our visit we had a couple of beer's from a cask ale brewery which were served in perfect condition and where well priced considering the pub we were in and where this pub is located. An excellent well kept pub in a superb area of the city centre and really easy to locate from South Hunter street bus stop its a few minutes walk away.(This is my fifth review of the Fly). This used to be my favourite pub in Liverpool but after visiting tonight I’m feeling a little sad. It’s gone from being a sophisticated international pub to a weird kinda cocktail bar. The bar itself has been painted green (I think), there’s fake plants hanging from the ceiling. Some of the refurb doesn’t look too bad but the carpet in the front of the bar looks horrible. I will not be drinking here again. Genuinely sad.

What happened to the real ales? The fly has undergone a big refurb and seems it’s no longer a real ale pub but has become a generic sports bar with loud tv’s all over. Such a shame. Only three hand pulls on, 2 of which were warm beer. No Guiness? I have drank in this pub for over 20 years and I’m sad to see the changes. Guess it’s to cater for the students yet again.

Saturday 12th October 2024 This Liverpool pub has to be one of the most unspoilt victoriana pubs in Liverpool. The windows, the bar and jug, and bottle hatch superb. Lively and family-friendly. Great service although staff under pressure. Very reasonable prices. Liked the wine and veggie/vegan options.

Didn't even know these existed until recently. Really cheap price wise. Good service from staff. Large selection. I went for a cheese toasties, as I wanted something light. I wasn't disappointed. Really cheesey taste, bread was soft; and at £3.25 its not bad value for eating in. Definitely worth seeking out
