Very pleasant man behind the bar served us and tge sunday dinner we had was spot on

Very nice spot for really tasty food. We had to wait a while as hadn’t booked, so recommend doing so as it is popular. Also there was a slight wait at the bar as not many staff on but the staff were really nice. The food was excellent, nicely cooked meats and tasty. Got the cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets which were both nice additions and big portions. Looks like a great outdoor area at the back overlooking the river

The outside of this pub does not do it justice. We were extremely impressed with the inside, and the garden area leading down to the river. However we were a bit disappointed with the food. I have read the reviews on tripadvisor, so I was really looking forward to eating here. The staff were very friendly and pleasant however, not that great at the front end of service. Had to get my own knife and fork waited 20 mins for a glass of wine and the food wasn’t great. No horseradish sauce for my Sunday roast beef!!!!!!! Really. There’s a Waitrose across the road, I was half tempted to nip across and get some myself, but isn’t that what I’m paying £80 for. Yes we spent £80 for 2 of us and no horseradish. Disappointed.

Today on our way back to Littleborough from Harrogate we decided to stop off for Dinner en-route... thank heavens we did.... now the front of the building doesn't scream wow I must go in therenot scruffy just unassuming , however when we went inside the staff were polite and looked very professional and this followed on into our questions about the food, very informative and knowledgeable...... the place was spotless also.... but onto the review the food, my wife and I eat out on a regular basis at a wide variety of establishments from local pub grub to fine dining.... so first of all we found the menu just the right size, choice but not so much choice it takes an hour to decide what to eat that said our choices changed a number of times ... now to the food.. we shared a starter just because we wanted room for a dessert... I have never seen garlic mushrooms in a cheddar cheese sauce before but went for this option and what a joy truly superb, how can such a simple dish be made in such a way that it makes you mmmm with every mouthful and not a tiny ramekin with a couple of mushrooms and a drizzle of cheese no, this was the size of a mug and full of mushrooms and an amazing cheese and garlic sauce mmmmm......for mains I went with a house signature dish Heather's Holy Cow.... slow cooked braised beef in a special sauce that had needs tasting to fully appreciate with a little spicy kick omg so so good and the dish was full of beef so so nice, my wife had another signature dish the butter chicken curry.. which she couldn't eat all of because there was so much chicken in it and the chicken was succulent we got a 'doggy bag and I ate it the next night and the best compliment I can give is authenticity... butter chicken everyone does it and it tastes like it's out of a jar or just not quite there ... I even said 'why you having that?' But when i tasted it the following night stunning.... I'm.not going to review the desserts because we couldn't fit one in very generous portions of extremely nice food... well done .... the fleece is around an hours drive from my home but we are considering going back mmmm.

Excellent food. Friendly and helpful staff. Toilets clean and tidy. But if you happen to be one of those people who doesn't each much then don't worry, they have takeaway boxes! I mention this only because look at the size of this "pie of the day"; chicken, leak and thyme! It's HUGE! I did manage to finish it all though.

Huge portions ! Friendly service - what more could you ask for ? I had steak & salad was really lovely and as an extra touch the plate was hot on the side with the steak yet cold on the side with the salad -the first time I’ve come across this added thoughtfulness

Lovely pub on the edge of town, that is deceptively plain from the front. Once inside, there's plenty of seating and floorspace, leading to tables overlooking the garden and river. Good selection of beers and a friendly landlady. Delicious food and a good choice on the menu. Small car park to the rear.

A very nice pub it seems to have a very family friendly atmosphere There's a wide selection of drinks and the grounds are large very private to have a meal or drinks with family and friends. The staff seem very welcoming and the outdoor area is very large on different tiers for added privacy.

Thoroughly enjoyed Friday lunch here today. Friendly staff, good choice of food, excellent quality at a reasonable price.

We booked a table for 6 and 2 children, Sunday 4th August. The atmosphere, the food and the service was all absolutely wonderful & we will definitely be returning. Menu was lovely and extensive (I hate it when it's only a Sunday lunch menu, as I don't order that) Portions plentiful. Really, really lovely. Thank you.

Good beer I will be back for food as it looked very nice

Had a wonderful evening celebrating a birthday. Food was fab, staff were so friendly and accommodating, we had a brilliant evening. As the weather was good we could sit in the garden and use the outside bar. A real bonus.

Very disappointing burgers. Quite tasteless with soft buns, cheap-tasting burgers, and overcooked chips . Completely spoiled by a fight between customers with a baby behaving very badly.. Not the fault of the staff but a very nasty experience, never to be repeated.

Sunday lunch very good price we ordered two prawn cocktails they were average. Mains two roast beef one Pork plenty of meat and vegetables included and hot not cool like some places finished off with one cheese cake yummy plus coffee wonderful.

Went to this pub as just out for the day on a bank holiday weekend. Did think that most places will be fully booked, however we thought we would try our luck after a little googling this pub was highly recommended. Walked in, ordered a couple pints , the pub looked cozy.. I asked at the bar if we could order food as my nephew was really hungry, the tall guy with the black hair and glasses asked we had booked, I said no we haven't, so he told us we have to sit outside and it would be an hour wait for food, I said that's fine. However there was quite a few empty tables inside, none of which said reserved, so we decided to sit inside, the table opposite was having a roast but the menu they gave us didn't have the roasts on.. So when the waitress (young girl) finished serving, we asked her if we could order a roast, she said you can only have that inside and not outside, she said she will check for us.. The young girl told us that we could have roasts but not beef as there was none left, I said that fine as we don't eat beef anyway.. She brought a different menu as it was different to the one that was given by the guy behind the bar.. We ordered 2 Chorizos, 1 cauliflower cheese for starters , 2 Chicken roasts and 2 pork roasts, 1 hunters chicken, 1 sticky toffee pudding and 2 raspberry tarts to share. Thanks to this wonderful waitress we had one of the best roasts I've ever had...the Chorizo sausages and cauliflower cheese were incredible too.... The food was incredible, atmosphere was great - we were there from 3pm to 5.30pm and nobody came and sat at, at least 5 of the tables whilst we were there inside... 10/10 for the young waitress who made an effort to check, 2/10 for the guy with the glasses behind the bar who told us we had to sit outside and gave us a different menu. Be consistent in your service. I would have given 5/5 for service too if it was just the girl that served us. (forgot to take pics of the chorizo and cauliflower cheese as they were really good)

A pleasant find and visit. The food was next level amazing, great portion sizes and the flavour throughout is to die for! First visit and will certainly be back. The staff were welcoming and brought an all round lovely experience.

Shared a lovely meal with family and friends. A bit quiet for a Friday night but the staff were lovely and food good value and tasty. Dog friendly too. Would recommend.

Consistently well served cask ale.

We were looking for a pub lunch. Literally stuck a pin in a map, followed the SatNav. Lovely welcome by staff, roaring log fire and food to die for. Massive portions - no starter needed. Still couldn’t eat it all. Delicious.

I have visited many times with my husband, with our family and with my friends. We have always enjoyed lovely service and great food. The steak & ale pie is the best we have had. The meat is so chunky but so tender. The portions are hearty and well cooked. They are dog friendly and our dog also loves the steak pie. They have a lovely beer garden just by the river, beautiful

Warm welcome and staff even put in an extra tv screen for us so we could watch our local team. Great tasty food but be warned- portions are huge! We could’ve shared my nachos with chilli beef or his steak pie.

We visited The Fleece for lunch after reading the great reviews about it being dog friendly & home cooked food served. We had a really lovely relaxing lunch, the service given by the owners was excellent, very friendly & very easy going. Our dog was made very welcome, you can sit in the main area of pub and unlike many others that have a separate room that you have to use. The food was great, one of the best meals that I’ve had & plenty of it, plus the homemade steak chips were wonderful. The pub is traditional with a contemporary style & is very clean, mellow relaxing was playing. This was our first visit to Otley which is lovely traditional small market town, we will definitely be visiting this pub again. Thank you Lisa, Ade & Edith the dog 😊

Excellent pub first time visiting the fleece stopped in for something to eat i was pleasantly surprised very nice inside with a central log burner very good selection of drinks all staff fantastic could not fault them 👍🏼 ordered food and when it came great again home cooked and very tasty with proper home cooked chips the portion where massive will be great in the summer its got bi fold doors which look over the beer garden and river and an outside bar downstairs will definitely be back 👍🏼👍🏼

The Fleece is situated on the edge of the Town centre in Otley, a characterful stout 1800s building which has a fairly modern renovation within. The main room with the bar is open plan with a central fireplace and with a light and bright side room and a beautifully traditional snug tucked away to the other side. There might not be the most adventurous selection of beers on the bar but they at least have a couple of well kept Timmy Taylors cask beers at a decent price. The focus of The Fleece is more food orientated and it's this which keeps pulling us back, especially for their fabulous Sunday dinners, served in proper large Yorkshire portions. They're also very dog friendly and have a great looking riverside beer garden at the back which we look forward to checking out in the summer. Needless to say we'll be back, especially as it's the nearest pub to our new house.

First visit here last week. Really friendly staff, lovely clean pub and amazing food! I had fish and chips, which were very good. My brother had steak and ale pie. I had food envy and already planning my next visit to fix this!

I went for lunch with my brother on his recommendation. The staff were friendly and the whole place was spotless. My only issue was serious food envy over my brothers steak and ale pie. I had fish and chips which were so good. I am fixing my food envy next weekend with a second visit. It was also very fun to watch my brother slide down in the snow to his car!!

Walked in found this pub on trip advisor never been in before, not many in at this time cos it was early, barman recommended the steak and ale pie, it was lovely best we have had in a long long time, Timothy Taylor was excellent also. Definitely be back again when in the area .

I’ve just come back from a LUSH meal at The Fleece. Start to finish it couldn’t have been better. A friendly greeting at the bar and we were told we could choose our own table. Busier than expected, we chose the last window seat. There are beautiful views of the Wharfe. Rob and the young man on the bar were warm, attentive and personable. Not at all over bearing, simply great Yorkshire customer service. The menu had a good range of lighter dishes and Vegan, veggies and GF options, but we opted for some serious winter warming fodder. Despite a large table ordering the same time as us service was quick. Our starter and mains were superb. To start we had halloumi fries and baked chorizo with crusty bread, absolutely delicious. The halloumi was so crispy but tender and unsqueeky. The chorizo was so sweet and melted in the mouth. For mains, I had the belly pork stew in a dark, rich, sweet chilli sauce, huge fluffy hand cut chips. So much meat! It met my need for some satisfying, comfort food. My partner had sirloin steak and chips, and upgraded it with fried onion, salad garnish and pepper corn sauce. It came on an impressive rectangular plate. It was an impressive sight, the quality and freshness was incredible. The steak was cooked to perfection with well balanced flavours. To top it all there was a great choice of draught ales. We were too full for desert, but the puddings we saw coming out of the kitchen made us regret not leaving room! £68 including drinks was great value. It’s so nice to find a spot with such warm welcome, great service and amazing food. We’ll be back again soon

We had a lovely lunch here on New Year's day, beautiful food and very hot unfortunately we found the pub rather cold which was a shame as we might have stayed for coffees or another drink.

Went for a birthday meal but took advantage of the Christmas menu. The food was excellent, great value for money and the service really good.

Absolutely delighted with my Christmas 🎄 lunch with family and friends today. It's the best Christmas Dinner I have had in a long time in a pub over the Christmas period. 👍 It was hot, very well presented and tasted beautiful. 😋 Will definitely meet up there again in summer time. Always looks slightly understated from the outside but you’ll be pleasantly surprised once inside. Probably the third time of visiting and it just gets better. Great welcome from the staff and honest good quality pub food in large portions with no reduction in quality at sensible prices.

We were invited out for lunch the place we normally go to were not serving food today so we thought we would try the Fleece. Only our second visit in as many years. The place was comfortable and clean, the staff were brilliant, very attentive....

Lovely setting as it backs onto the river with a good car park. Good choice of beer and food. The barstaff doubled up as serving staff and were pleasant and efficient. Very good value for money.

Oh my goodness, what a little gem of a place and find this is.. We where staying at the premier inn, side of the airport and this is just a wee drive away. Well we had gorgeous food from the river view room. Burger bacon...

I was recommended to visit the Fleece some time ago. Wish I had gone sooner because our experience was perfect. The menu provides for all tastes and each choice from it was accompanied by wonderfully prepared fries!!!! My advice is just go. You will not be disappointed.

I've been here several times as it's a craicin' pub with excellent burgers and friendly attentive staff. Beer selection was good. There's also a beer garden which overlooks the river.

Stopped in for a drink but looked really lovely inside and the menu looked good too. Will make a further visit to try food aswell.

It’s my second time here… The food is absolutely outstanding, soo delicious hot and tasty… Superb service …thank you The decor is amazing so is clean and immaculate kept … The outside garden is amazing and looks down on the river wharf … Honestly highly recommend for fantastic quality food, service, and fantastic atmosphere

We booked Father’s Day lunch for six and requested a special table in the carpet area. We traveled from Cumbria to meet family as we know the pub is excellent. The landlord on short notice not only sorted a requested area to eat but supplied one of the best Sunday lunches. Service was excellent hence the five stars.

Called in early Friday evening of Bank hol weekend, on spec for a simple no-fuss meal, indoors. Very chirpy reception. Table no prob. Accurate and timely service, nothing too much trouble, and clearly happy staff. And... modest pricing. What more could customers expect. Very good experience. Well done.

Booked a table for 1pm but unfortunately 40mins later still no one came to take our order wether it was for a starter or main meal was told they had group of twelve in so it would be a while..got up and left after 45mins...
