Perfect Sunday Roast at The Flask Pub - I had a wonderful Sunday roast lunch at The Flask Pub in Hampstead. The roast beef was cooked to perfection, accompanied by all the classic trimmings, and the portion size was just right. We did ask for extra gravy, which was promptly brought to the table, adding to the meal’s enjoyment. For dessert, we shared a delicious rhubarb and apple crumble with vanilla ice cream, which was the perfect end to the meal. The atmosphere was cozy, with pleasant background music that wasn’t too loud, making it easy to chat. A thoroughly satisfying experience and a great spot for a traditional Sunday roast!

We had our second annual reunion at The Flask in October 2024 of our small peer group of former Hornsey College of Art Vocational Graphic Design students, met for lunch in the public bar with tables reserved, and spent another highly enjoyable entire afternoon there. Our key pub contact was, as in the previous year, lovely helpful Meg who made sure that everything went as planned and, along with the other very friendly helpful staff, it all went brilliantly. We are definitely having all of our future annual reunions at The Flask, a great iconic pub, great food and drink, and a great location! Many thanks again to Meg and all the lovely bar and kitchen staff!

We recently booked the private room for after my father's funeral, & I can honestly say, it was perfect. Staff were really amazing - there when we needed them & disappearing when we didn't... I had some initial concerns when ordering the food platters prior to the event, with what appeared only to be 'pub grub', but I was thrilled when I saw the platters - anything but ordinary, & everyone loved it, including older friends & family! Thank you Meg, Jesse, & all the staff on the evening.

We stumbled across this pub by accident and it had an inviting look about it and well patronised, so we decided to pop in for a light lunch and the lunch menu looked appealing. Food came out pretty quick, and was fairly decent. I had the truffle soup which was tasty and warming, as well as some fries. I realise Hampstead Heath is more on the pricier side, but we were shocked to see the charge for a lager shandy was £7.75… All in, the bill was more expensive than we were expecting, but the price was the price, and we kindly asked for the service charge to be removed (noted as a 12.5% “discretionary charge”, taking the bill from £95 to £107). Unfortunately, the waitress decided to take offence to this, despite my mum saying “it’s not personal, and nothing to do with your service”, but she did note the higher charge for the shandy. The waitress responded to which, “Well it is Hampstead Heath”, in a condescending tone. My mum proceeded to paying the subtotal and again, not to cause offence, my mum said “just to reiterate, this has nothing to do with your service” As she walked away, she replied, “well maybe you should have paid it then” 🤯 I think your establishment needs to consider the true meaning of a “discretionary charge” and that it is not a natural entitlement. Staff don’t need to question its removal and understand sometimes it’s a lot of money to pay in addition. I suspect this is a culture as well within the hospitality field that as customers, we should always take these added charges on the chin and just pay them. In my view, it boils down to choice and personal circumstances and it’s both unnecessary and rude to probe a customer’s decision to such an extent, especially when asked politely to remove it and having no prior issues. I have to tell you, we felt almost vindicated in not paying the service in the end… Btw, the girl serving had blonde streaks in her hair.

Extraordinarily bad. I've eaten better in sewage pit restaurants at the back end of 3rd world dirt tracks. The wrong order was served. The Sunday roast was incredibly generous, warm, and served very quickly. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Even though we didn’t initially ask for extra gravy, when we did, the staff noticed that we were running low and promptly brought us more. Great service and a lovely experience overall! If you are a Korean tourist and want to try a Sunday roast, I do not recommend choosing this pub. There are many more delicious Sunday roast restaurants in London… I enjoyed the beef Sunday roast a bit, but the gravy was too watery. If you live in the UK, it would be okay to eat hangover soup for Sunday lunch without worrying about the restaurant. If you are a tourist, I definitely recommend eating at a famous place somewhere else. Still, it's not bad if you're satisfied with just the good atmosphere and decent service.

We came here for a nice lunch but we waited forever to be seen despite making a reservation. Once we finally ordered drinks, they sat on the side of the bar for so long going cold that we went and picked them up ourselves - they confirmed they were ours but didn’t even offer to bring them over so we ended up serving ourselves. We then waited even longer to order our food and it took a lifetime to come. I eventually asked someone how long it was going to take. Eventually, when it came, there was nothing to it. The steak sandwich had 2 strips of steak in the whole sandwich. The £5 side of chips consisted of 8 chips in total. Such a let down as we’d been recommended this place by a friend.

A pub with a nice vibe on a cute street in Hampstead. Staff were friendly but the Sunday roast (we had the vegetarian roast and 1/2 chicken) was rather flavourless and not what we expected based on the reviews. Good pints in a proper pub. The highlight though was the pub cat: absolute legend. Massive, chillest lad ever, just lounging around like he owned the place (which he probably does). Great character, great pint, would definitely go back.
