Really quirky little bar that is amazing inside. It was let down by the girl who served us unfortuntely, who gave us the impression we were an inconvenience to have to serve; no smile, one word sentences and unengaged. It's a shame as otherwise the atmosphere was great.

Great quiet and scenic location, the building dates back from Elizabethan times and it is a miracle that it is still standing. Nothing can compete with genuineness and it is its main draw. I had a quick early lunch after visiting the John Soane's museum. It was the right time to visit as the place is small, and crowded with a surplus of small tables. I just wish the waiter had told me that their portions were humongous and that an appetizer plus a main was enough to feed four people my size. The pumpkin soup alone with two slices of bread would have been enough. But not having been warned, I ordered the pickled herring with potato salad, as an entree which came with five huge, and tasty filets and a bounty of the diced tuber. I could only finish half of it. Waste aside, I was glad to have visited such a quirky place. The wig room storefront is a showstopper. If you need to use the upstairs bathroom, one needs to be young, agile and flexible enough to make it to the top.

Would give seven stars but can't 🤓 EDIT: I still love this pub. However recently it has gone to the wrong side of the pain threshold on pricing unfortunately. £26 for lunch for one with a pint is not quite what I expected to pay in total when the food on the board was listed at £17. I typically don't write reviews like this but I just felt I should say something as I felt a bit ripped off...

Was told you can't sit and stand further away from the pub than a specific point near the venue, tree outside the venue. Was not given a reason why! Apparently you could buy beers somewhere else (cheaper) and sit there, but not buy beers from the pub and sit there. What a joke.

We adored this bar that we visited during our honeymoon this week. It felt like having a few drinks in someone’s home. Sean kindly prepared a sandwich board for us after a long day of walking. He and Mustafa tolerated my husband and I’s (but mostly my) drunken American antics. The Seven Stars on Carey Street is a gem in the heart of London, steeped in history and brimming with character. This venerable establishment, dating back to 1602, offers a delightful escape into a world where traditional pub charm meets a quirky, inviting atmosphere. Patrons praise the well-kept selection of beers and the friendly bartenders who add to the pub's warm ambiance. The food, reasonably priced, ranges from classic pub fare to more contemporary dishes, satisfying a variety of tastes. Visitors often remark on the pub's unique decor and the quiet, lovely setting that makes it a worthwhile visit, even if it's a bit more expensive than other bars. 🚇 Kentish Town 🍺 £6.80 Estrella Galicia The Vine is located on the border between Kentish Town and Gospel Oak in Northwest London. The nearest Tube is Kentish Town. Just up the road is Little Green Street, one of the few intact Georgian streets in London. This pub has a history dating back to 1836, the pub you see today was built in the Edwardian era between 1901 to 1910. This pub is part of Greene King’s Metropolitan pub company stable of pubs. The is a deceptively large pub that has a contemporary feel with some nice traditional touches. As you enter the pub you arrive into the main bar area which has a good sized servery. The decor consists of a boarded floor, exposed brick walls, a Dunville’s mirror and a mix of seating. To left of the servery, through an arch, takes you into a sizeable dining area with an atrium above. To the side of the dining area is a raised section with two shuffleboard tables. At the front of the pub is an attractive front patio garden. The beer selection was pretty decent and offered a choice of local London brews, one cask ale and some familiar keg favourites. I decided on an Estrella Galicia, my pint was spot on, price point was punchy. There is a classic pub grub menu available, Fish & Chips costs £18.50, roasts are available on a Sunday. We arrived around 5pm on a pleasant Saturday afternoon in May. The main bar had a dozen or so punters in, most punters were lapping up the sunshine out the front. There was a nice convivial atmosphere around the pub as we supped our pints and watched a bit of the Fury V Usyk build up with a soulful house soundtrack playing in the background. The service was good, the team member who served us although rushed off her feet was welcoming and courteous. Visiting @thevinenw5 was a pleasant pub experience, this pub is well worth a look if you’re in the area. 📅 18th May 2025 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

The servers were very friendly and efficient. We chose from the set lunch menu which was incredibly good value. There was a reasonable choice, and everything tasted really fresh with great flavours. We had mackerel pate, truffled cauliflower soup, mushroom and feta tart and pork and fennel sausages. At around £37 for everything, we were impressed. Good beer too.
