Seven Stars in Camden

Pinta sólida, pub sólido. Añadido bono es El General, que fue muy acogedor esta visita. Sí, los baños están por una escalera empinada, pero hay rieles para ayudar. Nunca he tenido problemas con nadie en el personal como mencionan algunos críticos - todos han sido bastante agradables. Esperamos con interés mi próxima visita.

Inodoro sucio y maloliente sin luz, así que tenía que orinar y lavarse las manos en la oscuridad. A step back into history. Good beer and a special mention for The General; the pub cat.

Really quirky little bar that is amazing inside. It was let down by the girl who served us unfortuntely, who gave us the impression we were an inconvenience to have to serve; no smile, one word sentences and unengaged. It's a shame as otherwise the atmosphere was great.

Proper boozer, a must visit. Novelty stools with round bottom bases ensures a giggle and a wiggle. Pints were good, great atmosphere

Lovely pub. Lovely staff. Lovely cat. "The General" is a friendly furry pub cat who enjoys wearing a ruff. If you can't find home then look in the alcove to the left of the entrance. He's often zzzing on a cushion.

One of my favourite pubs in London I often visit if I am in the area. Good food well kept beer and plenty to see and admire around the walls.

Lovely, authentic London pub, with pub cat! I really enjoyed my well-kept IPA and the atmosphere is wonderful. I would recommend coming here if you are a historic pub enthusiast (or a lawyer as it's opposite the rear of the Central Criminal Court).🙂

Always updating the menu with interesting choices. Good bratwurst on the menu at the moment.

Great quiet and scenic location, the building dates back from Elizabethan times and it is a miracle that it is still standing. Nothing can compete with genuineness and it is its main draw. I had a quick early lunch after visiting the John Soane's museum. It was the right time to visit as the place is small, and crowded with a surplus of small tables. I just wish the waiter had told me that their portions were humongous and that an appetizer plus a main was enough to feed four people my size. The pumpkin soup alone with two slices of bread would have been enough. But not having been warned, I ordered the pickled herring with potato salad, as an entree which came with five huge, and tasty filets and a bounty of the diced tuber. I could only finish half of it. Waste aside, I was glad to have visited such a quirky place. The wig room storefront is a showstopper. If you need to use the upstairs bathroom, one needs to be young, agile and flexible enough to make it to the top.

We got drinks there only and stood outside. The place was full.

However recently it has gone to the wrong side of the pain threshold on pricing unfortunately. £26 for lunch for one with a pint is not quite what I expected to pay in total when the food on the board was listed at £17. I typically don't write reviews like this but I just felt I should say something as I felt a bit ripped off...

Shared a couple of beers - fabulous historic pub built 1602! Right by courts in London.

We loved the tiny pub on a side street- they have a great wine list and cook a small but varied menu. Watch out for the resident cat too! Only drawback is it's so small it can be hard to find a seat- we wanted to eat there one night but couldn't as there was no space despite waiting through a couple drinks. No reservations either. But shows how popular it is!

I absolutely love this pub. It's a hidden gem behind the Royal Courts of Justice which has olde worlde charm, some great beers, delicious food and a friendly cat.

Beautiful old fashioned pub with lots of variety of beers. Delicious and cold. Small interior but a nice quaint spot for a pint.

Really unique, cool vibe, feels authentic. Very small inside, but nice to drink outside on a sunny day.

Nuestra segunda visita a las Siete Estrellas mientras estábamos alojados en Holborn. Este es un gran pub, lleno de carácter con un personal amable. Los precios son justos y merece la pena visitarlo. Una lástima que el gato no estuviera por aquí porque es genial. Una gran manera de pasar la tarde es entrar en el Seven Stars para tomar una copa de vino o dos.

Siempre vienes cuando estás en la ciudad. Me encanta la ubicación y el Adnams Broadside. El servicio está invariablemente apagado – la mano roza lo conscientemente grosero, pero puedo vivir con el personal mal pagado descargando su frustración en extraños porque sus carreras de actuación no van tan bien como lo planeado. A quick visit as part of an 'Ale Trail'. Well worth a visit, good selection of Beers, Wines & Spirits. Food looks good. Fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon

Got 2 drinks here! 2 different kinds of amazing cider. The service was great and the location behind the courts of justice was super convenient. Also don't forget the General. He was the best part. Big sweet cat who loves chin scratches!

WOW -- what a great old pub ... cask beers were great .. so good that we went back a second night and ate the food (kitchen closes every night at 8:30 PM) .. food is homemade and very delicious .. just a fantastic old London pub ... its hard not to be impressed

Do not come on a sunny day!!! They had no lagers on tap, so spent £5 on a small bottle of peroni. Went outside to enjoy my peroni. Bouncer lurking. Was told you can't sit and stand further away from the pub than a specific point near the venue, tree outside the venue. Was not given a reason why! Apparently you could buy beers somewhere else (cheaper) and sit there, but not buy beers from the pub and sit there. What a joke.

Visited on a very wet London Tuesday. A lovely old fashioned pub with excellent real ale and serving great tasting midday meals ( and good portion size)

Always a pleasure to eat and drink here. The food is excellent and not expensive. And made fresh. Not like a pub chain mass produced and microwaved food. Luckily we arrived before the large early evening crowds. And of course the General is always a pleasure to see! I bring family and friends from abroad for the wonderful real London experience. I had the chicken meatball sandwich which was huge, delicious and piled with fresh unique salad. My friend had the duck legs. We were both very pleased. And of course the staff are always friendly and very hardworking!

Since this is such an old pub it was on my vacation visit list. The ale selected was fine. Only stayed for one pint though. We had planned to eat lunch however the menu was did not have anything we desired. Tilted towards Italian dishes (I cook pretty solid Italian food), so we opted to move along. The servers working the pub were friendly and we chatted a bit with them and a couple of patrons. If I was local, I would pop in for a pint or two.

We adored this bar that we visited during our honeymoon this week. It felt like having a few drinks in someone’s home. Sean kindly prepared a sandwich board for us after a long day of walking. He and Mustafa tolerated my husband and I’s (but mostly my) drunken American antics. The extent of their generous hospitality was topped off by giving The General one too many scratches on his little cat noggin. Thanks so much for making a lovely and warm place to land for first time London tourists. We’ll for sure be back.

Drinks: OK Food: Needs improvement While I enjoyed the food overall, I must express my disappointment regarding the additional charge for what seemed like ordinary slices of stale bread accompanying the pickled herring. The quality of the bread did not align with the £3 price tag, and I found it to be an unexpected and somewhat unreasonable add-on to the meal.

Smashing little pub, not a lot of room but we squeezed in and had a lovely lunch. Liver and bacon, east end sausages and aubergine parmigiano. Everyone enjoyed it. Staff were lovely (and the resident cat). Will come again.

We went for a party of 18 of us. Joanna was our waitress. She was amazing and made sure everyone was happy and had exactly what they needed. She was always around if we needed her at all working so hard. She was always smiling and made us feel most welcome. The Seven Stars are so lucky to have her.

Unique and atmospheric. Cat is rather on the large size. Unfortunately Roxy wasn't in during our visit. Good place to stand in the street drinking. We even saw on urban fox shimmy past us.

Had 2 pints of Adams, small pub nice, seems to more for the quick pinter and gone, full of Law(judges,solicitors etc) and for the history been here since 1602 class

Such a fun character-filled pub.

Small pub and very crowded when we arrived. Eventually got a table and had the Moroccan lamb pie. Good range of cask beers, efficient staff, friendly clientele. Good atmosphere. Could do with more toilets! Always a queue at the top of very steep stairs for gents and ladies. Good fit chatting though! Food was unusual and very tasty, home made. Will certainly return. Not wheelchair accessible at all!

Such a pity that it was a really charming pub with stories and a famous pub cat who has already returned to the planet of felines, but we found it unbearable. It was so crowded that we couldn’t sit in peace. It didn’t feel relaxing at all. People came in and out, knocking down glasses of beer, stepping on each other’s foot. We downed the drinks and left it as soon as we could. The room was also damp.

One of the oldest London pubs behind the High Court in a really quiet street. It is a really cozy and small pub, with good food and a limited offer of beers, but quite an experience nonetheless.

Delightful small old pub built in the 1600's and a great atmosphere. I enjoyed a delicious pint of Adnam's Ghost Ale - and although we weren't hungry, there was an excellent choice of food. We found it by chance while walking around Lincoln's Inn Fields situated between Holborn and Fleet Street. Friendly bar service and good choice of beers. Cheers!

Hard to rate this place. Its nice in its own right with lots of law-related paraphernalia on the walls, decent beer, friendly crowd of lawyers winding down after a day in the High Court, but it appears to be run by an incredibly unpleasant woman who manages despite everything to make it the least welcoming pub I've ever visited.

A quaint pub located behind the law courts, lots of history to be soaked up here. Brightly lit interior, lots of interesting ephemera inside and out. A range of Adams cask beer is most welcome. Worth a visit if you're in the area

Amazing food, service, drinks, staff, and cat in a tuxedo. I would come back again and again. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful place to catch up with a friend who moved to the UK! When we were back, we will be back!

Interesting pub, food looked fantastic and staff were very friendly. However, I'd walked about 45 mins from my hotel to here as I'd read it was a real ale pub, unfortunately when I got there it only had 2 very generic ales on tap. Not quite what I was hope for. I had a Guinness instead which was quite a bitter/old pint. Shame!

Centuries old, gorgeous, in the middle of an otherwise quiet strip, and there's a friendly cat that wears a frilly ruff. Totally amazing on these points alone. They're old, but there are some not-very-PC comics in the toilets that mildly offended someone in our group, but not enough to spoil things.

Very characterful, good food Landlady (after keeping us waiting 10 minutes after advertised opening time): are you two old gentlemen in a terrible hurry? Customer: I need a pee Response: that's your problem, I serve beer Customer(about the cat): is that a flea collar? Response: no!! it's a clerical collar that cost £15 each We had roast pheasant followed by a splendid cheese board

Had a great lunch here while visiting London. Staff had no problem giving me extra salad to replace the carbs that were a standard part of the meal. I just wish I had met the legendary proprietor, Roxy Beaujolais!

Wonderful pub, great atmosphere, great service

I could not make anything out of this place. It is in a nice, quiet location. Bar service was acceptable but beer selection was below par. The menu on the chalkboard was extremely limited in a late Friday afternoon. We sat outside and had a drink and decided to have dinner at "The Last Judgement" down the street instead after seeing the menu did not have much to offer.

Love this place! Great food (get the herring) and a decent pint. If I was to be bit picky, it would be that the bar furniture (name the stools) are unsafe and not pleasant for a seat. Do stand at the bar. Other than that, what a golly little pub.
