Run by a 23 year old and it shows. The pub is falling apart and not in a charming rustic way. Sat in the garden and most of the parasols were broken when we needed them as it rained on and off for the afternoon. The ladies toilets were in a horrible state and considering how much we spent as a group of 15 the staff were very rude. Come here if you're in the area but definitely don't bother if there's anywhere else you can go

Welcome was very friendly, staff were efficient and helpful, selection of beer was appreciated(Landlord and TEA). The pub was busy with a good atmosphere. Prices were reasonable for the location. The food selection was good, we did feel it was a bit overcooked, but otherwise it was good and well presented.

Pretty chill place for after work drinks with friendly staff and a lovely private outdoor terrace. Tables can be reserved fee free which makes this the ideal place to meet friends or work colleagues. Usually quiet until around 4.30/5pm and then the usual onslaught of after work revellers show up to enjoy their evening. Would recommend!

We booked a space for a work event but could not find the area and because the bar staff were so busy they could not (would not) help us. Very disappointing, will not bother again

Celebrated my 30th birthday at the Carpenter's Arms. During the booking process, staff were amazing at responding to queries, requests, and were very accommodating. The night itself was wonderful- the fairy lights in the room were a magical touch - definitely keep these up all year! The food was delicious and there was plenty for everyone! Staff were friendly on the night too. My guests really enjoyed it and loved the venue as well, I've only had positive feedback. I'd love to visit the pub again for a drink or food! I had a wonderful birthday, thank you very much :)

Quite disappointed with the Sunday roast. The potatoes lacked a crispy exterior, the chicken was bland, and its skin was too pale, lacking that light golden hue indicative of proper roasting. The carrot was the only highlight, with the parsnip being mediocre. While the staff were amiable, the food was merely average. There are several other pubs nearby offering better Sunday roast.

two stars because their garlic bread is excellent, the roast was a disaster, cold cauliflower cheese, wrong meat on the roast. The nut roast was tiny, stale potatoes. So disappointing, used to be the best place ever!! No chicken on the menu too now, shame.

It was lovely to see a dog in there yesterday with friendly staff and a great design. Will have to go back again and try some of their different things, especially in summer up on the rooftop.

The process of reserving the space for the event was very smooth. Staff I dealt with before and during the event were lovely. Everything went smoothly and all my guests had a brilliant night.

For many moons have I lived in London, and for many moons have I sought the greatest pub. For all the nooks that London has to offer, and their respective pubs that reside in those nooks, I never felt like I truly belonged in any one establishment. Well fear not fellow my Google readers because I have the pub for you: The Carpenter’s Arms, Fitzrovia. The homely decor, coupled with the warm embrace of the welcoming staff sums to a cosy experience longed by many. The pints are good and the service is better. I have recited to many of how my wedding day has been the greatest day of my life, but my God was I wrong. Stepping into the theatre that I call the Carpenter’s Arms has to top it all. I wish it upon everyone that they visit this pub, and try their finest pints. They will not regret it. I am a very happy man to say the least

I love the place. The staff cannot do enough for you to make your visit pleasant. Whenever I'm in the West End of London I go in here to get away from the hustle. There's a lovely upstairs bar and outdoor area. Give it a visit if you're close by.

Just went for a drink after work, friendly staff, good selection of drinks, no complaints very good

What a horrendous experience. Have been going to pubs in this area for a while but never experienced anything like this. The bar staff spilt a drink over our coats, threw a paper tissue at us to clean it up(!) then said that we abused their staff when we asked them to get a mop! AVOID!!!!!! Update: you’ll see from the response below how nice the management are (never mind the slanderous stuff). Again, avoid, at all costs.

Thank you for helping us host our Christmas party. The food was really good and perfect for the occasion, my only criticism would be that we initially booked for 73 people and fortunately for us, half of the guests turned up but I think the food provided would have not been enough if we had more guests. The venue was really lovely and perfect for Christmas - thanks again! We would definitely recommend!

This is a great spot. We had a drinks party here and loved it. The staff are incredibly polite and well organised. Decent pint of Guinness. Excellent espresso martinis. I didn't eat but a friend did and the schnitzel looked great :-)

It was okay for a birthday due nothing special and a simple small glass of wine 12 GBP hence my average rating.

Lauren was amazing - she looked after us and moved people off our booked table swiftly and moved us indoors when it got cold! It was a busy night and she ran the upstairs bar seamlessly. It was a memorable evening for a bunch of friends and ex-colleagues and exactly the night out we wanted! Welcoming bar and cosy upstairs terrace with heaters and fairy lights

Good atmosphere. It really is your average British pub. Everything is wildly expensive. Small portion sizes. Still good nonetheless. It’s what you get for London. I’d come back for the atmosphere

Three times we had to ask for different glasses as the ones that were given to us on three different orders still had lipstick marks around the rim and one had lip marks from lipgloss, and the other seemed like the first glass with lipsticks. I guess they don't polish their glasses from the dishwasher.

We went here for a Sunday roast. Had one chicken and one nut roast. The wait was a little long despite it being pretty quiet, but without even mentioning it, we were offered a free drink to make up for the inconvenience. Very nice of them! Nice atmosphere, good food and the staff were super friendly. Also had the Rugby on later in the afternoon but wasn’t too loud. Would definitely come back again.

The pub is nice. The food experience was dreadful. Everything came 5-10 minutes apart and was overcooked to the point of being inedible. We're talking pub grub; burgers and pies and chips it's not that hard to get them into an edible state and in decent time. Very poor.

We had a company party upstairs, and we had the best service from Ronak, he was attentive, helpful, quick, very professional. The nibbles were tasty too, we ordered for 10 people but was more than enough for the 30 of us. All in all a great evening, thank you!

The Carpenters Arms is my go-to for booking large tables in advance catering for large groups. Some people want food, some don’t, some just bowls of chips etc. Good vegetarian options. Outside space for those who want to smoke… friendly staff. What more could you want?

We booked the upstairs room for a wedding party and it turned out to be a great choice. The staff were helpful, friendly and professional. The outdoor terrace was a great space for us in the summer-ish weather. The biggest and best surprise was the catering, we thought it would be okay, but it was actually really tasty and there was sooo much!

What lovely place, warm welcome on arrival by the helpful staff, had a great choice of food, either bar or main menu, I had the bar food which was fabulous, thanks to the management and staff for making my evening pleasant.

What a great pub! We were looking for a fun spot with some energy and so many pubs in the neighborhood were pretty quiet. This one had a lot of young folks and international students/travelers. The upstairs is awesome with a large well-lit patio and a nice old bar room. Downstairs is more formal with elegant bar rooms. Landlord on cask in addition to plenty other draft beers. Finally tried Neck Oil which is everywhere and it was pretty darn good. Staff were young and friendly. Can’t recommend enough!

They have a wonderful quiz night on Tuesday- always good fun. Lots of space despite being very popular.

Took an hour and a half to get the Sunday roast and it was luke warm at best. You get a better Sunday roast at weatherspoons

Underwhelming bar service when I asked to order dinner and a pint, which was good once it arrived! Bustling atmosphere, but lacking a personal touch.

Came here early August and were served by a lovely lad from Yorkshire called Richard I think ..he made our visit special and he even came up and told us that “ his shift was over and said goodbye and wished us the best of luck “ the pub should be proud of him ..food and beer great and we will be back whenever we are in London

10 of us got to this pub last Friday about 3pm we were asked to move at 6pm because the table was booked. (There wasn't a sign on the table when we sat at it.) So had to resort to street drinking as by this time there were no tables. Why should you move existing customers who were there first ? We moved on to another pub. Rubbish treatment. We won't be going back. Should You Focus on New or Existing Customers?

Food was good, location was very central. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was relatively empty - we got our choice of seats at its rooftop terrace. Atmosphere is very chilled and the staff members are nice. However, this is a pub, so do not expect table service - you need to order the food and your drinks downstairs, and the food will be served when ready at your table. We had a pleasant and enjoyable lunch. The Beef Sunday roast was really good, but I could benefit from more vegetables and sides. The fish and chips were really good, especially the triple cooked chips. The mushy peas lacked flavour, but a little bit of salt and pepper did the trick. Overall, good food at a central location. Prices are slightly on the high side, but expected in Central London.

Really nice place to visit after work. Held a work drinks night here, which was a great success. There is more space in this place than there initially seems to be. Great manager who was helpful when I enquired about reserving tables.

The roof terrace is great for drinks when the weather is warm. You can book it in advance online. For food, the pub is not so great in our experience: many menu items were not available when we went, and we had to wait for about 20 minutes between the time the first 2 plates were served and the time the remaining 3 plates were served. The food was not very tasty and looked a bit tired (we had calamari, broccoli and fish and chips). It took a long time for the staff to clean our table as well after the meal.

I booked a private party and had a wonderful time with friends and family, we had the rooftop patio and bar which was perfect in the summer. There was around 40 people. It was fair and reasonably priced and the service excellent! The manager Rachel was lovely and J was really helpful behind the bar. My only criticism is that I It would have been good if there was some way to keep the buffet food hot. I would highly recommend this great pub!

Amazing little gem in Fitzrovia. Small but nice terrace, beautiful traditional pub. Vegetarian roast was excellent. Had only 2 real ales on tap, but luckily delicious. Fantastic staff. Our new favourite local.

The sausage and mash was delicious, and the service was fantastic. Rachel really went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic lunch.

There's a great upstairs , outdoor seating area, a wide selection of beers , wines and spirits, and though I only got to sample the wings, the quality was exceptional and the rest of the food being bussed past looked great! As you can see I didn't wait around to take pictures of the food. 100% will go back again with friends.

Ikke bra nok. Hadde bestilt bord til 8 personer lørdag 6 mai kl 2000. Ved bestilling var det fult mulig å bestille bord kl 21. Til tross for det stengte de kjøkkenet kl 2100. Det var ikke mulig å få dessert da kokken var gått. Var bare å betale og komne seg videre. Personellet var hyggelig og maten helt ok. Bestilling var lagt inn flere uker før vi kom. Det minste de burde gjort er å informere oss om stenging av kjøkken kl 2100 en lørdag når vi kom. Velg et annet sted er mitt råd.

Was quite crowded but service was good. The battery fried food was a LOT of batter and little meat /fish. The other food was quite decent. Typical central London prices, good non alcoholic beers on tap.

I hired the upstairs to host a birthday party and it was everything I needed it to be. It was really easy to organise ahead of the day with a responsive and pragmatic team. The space itself was perfect for a group of ~50 with spillover onto the outdoor terrace and we had a manned private bar. We used one of the set buffet menus to preorder food and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and how far it went among our guests. The technology all worked smoothly (use of their TV for the 6 nations and their speakers for our own music playlist). It’s location is great as it’s central London but very quiet on the weekends so no random people strolled into our private event. Would definitely recommend for private hire! Very reasonable minimum spend.
