Too noisey with Fruit machines next to dining tables.

Went there for mother's day and she really enjoyed it, the food was great and so was the service.

Visited Recently with my family and was very impressed! Food and Service were equally great! Staff were welcoming, happy and quick! Highly recommended

The salad bar was not too bad, but the main meal was terrible. What a complete waste of my appetite 😒

Bought the main out whilst I was still eating my starter! Food was ok not that hot by the time it reached us though

First time attending. Was greeted with oh didn’t know about the buggy to then be placed by front door next to walk way and my child left by window. Secondly everything was going okay until food was served. Got half way through meal to find chicken was pink and raw. When mentioned the sever said that I assure food is checked and this is why he doesn’t choose chicken on menu. That’s not convincing. The chicken was bloody and pink and not to undermine my knowledge of cooking but that was not cooked. Server continued to say that this was how all the chickens looked when they come out. Even though it was pink it was edible. I’m sorry that wasn’t. Got offered a free desert for the distress. I mean thanks for the dessert but don’t undermine me. The chicken was not cooked. Admit it and move on. Lucky it wasn’t my child eating etc. because that’s not acceptable for anyone. Would I go back probably not as I wouldn’t order chicken again.

Food not great, waited over an hour for 4 meals and could not order what we wanted because they had run out of rotisserie chicken by 19.45 on a Friday. Salad cart was a mess with little selection left. Waitress was friendly but unable to help with any of the above issues.

Seated at 8.30 then told as we finished eating at 9.45 we are going to have to ask you to leave as it’s nearly 10 o’clock after all the Resturaunt closed at 9!!!!’ Like you’re doing me a favour !! Really, not what the website says nor would you take a customer to a table at just gone 8.30 ! Absolutely appalling service. And how rude !! I hope your management and head office look at these reviews. Google times amended for the benefit of the customer. Won’t be heading here anytime soon. No rotisserie chicken and most customers had their coats on because the heating never is !!! Food wasn’t bad. Slow service but as it’s so cold in there the food soon goes cold.

Had a lovely meal this evening, great food and surroundings. The service was exceptional. A fantastic balance of friendly and attentive care without being intrusive. First rate on every level. We were served by Gokay and also hosted by Tom. Well done, excellent job!

Casey was our server on the 14th February. She has such a vivacious manner as well as being truly professional. All the tables around us, you could hear, we’re having a lovely time and chatting with her. She was very busy but managed to take orders and serve whilst creating a lovely atmosphere with the right balance of interaction. A true gem! Froggy

Highly recommend 5 bells harvester!! Our witness kacey was super bubbly, chatty and amazing helping us. Will definitely be returning again.

Got a nice table in the bar, staff super helpful, ordered food. 3 meals ok but salad bowl with halloumi really disappointing. A table spoon of grains/beans etc covered by a few thin slivers of pepper and a whole little gem. So basically a bowl Of lettuce. Halloumi on the top was nice but very overpriced for the meagre salad type rations. Off duty staff (?) Sat near us, drinking, shouting, swearing, deriding the chefs, menu and the staff on duty. Just not a pleasant experience.

As it was an occasion mainly Valentine’s Day there was no visible evidence in the restaurant apart from one dessert offered. The restaurant was very cold and uncomfortable.

The food at Five Bells Harvester was fantastic this evening, and our waitress Kacey provided excellent service. I have coeliac disease so ensuring I can eat out safely can sometimes be difficult. I was impressed with Harvesters gluten free options and Kacey’s attention to detail when ensuring that cross contamination did not occur. Thank you so much!

I went with my family for my birthday meal, the food and cleanliness were amazing. We were especially blown away by the service from our waitress Kacey, she was so willing and helpfull with all our requests and went above and beyond to make sure i had the best birthday meal. We well 100% be returning back.

I was pinned down for 5 days by sniper fire in this restaurant and I never thought I’d see the light of day again, as all hope seemed to fade away I suddenly saw a beam of light so bright appear from the kitchen it nearly blinded me, is this God I am seeing? Is this my last breath, my last heartbeat? I continue looking towards that door, my hand in front of my face to keep the light from blinding me. The light starts to fade and I see a figure approaching me, I then realize this is not an angel or even Jesus but dare I say something even better, the incredible Reece Smith who works as a chef in these kitchens was there to save me. He quickly runs to me, sniper fire pouring down on us, he takes out a stun gun and somehow eliminates the threat from a mile away with such simple weaponry, not even killing him as he is too righteous to do so. He noticed I was starving as I’d barely eaten so he runs back to the kitchen and makes me a delicious filet mignon with some mashed potatoes served with delicious gravy. As soon as I smelt the dish as he opened the door I could already feel the love and passion put into his cooking, it was an experience like no other, as if I was transcending into a realm of pure ecstasy. I could not recommend this lovely place more especially the incredible chef Reece. (Ps: he even demonstrated his gymnastic and acrobatic capabilities as I was eating my meal to provide some entertainment and quite frankly they were quite impressive, what a lively young man)

Service very slow had to keep trying to get servers attention Food was very dry and cold Sat behind the kitchen door so constantly had team chatting and shouting during the meal one male server you could hear him no matter where he was in the restaurant and didn’t appreciate him saying something was s**t when we had children at the table This used to be such a nice restaurant it’s massively gone down hill

Very disappointed. The restaurant is very tired looking. Food was overcooked it looked like it had been kept warm and was baked up. I wish I had complained on the night. Friends I was with felt the sane. it had gone down hill. Service was good, staff nice..

Food was 4.5/5 Littraly only thing was ribs slightly over cooked and chips wernt pipping hot so chips went cold before rest of the meal. Definitely will be back though . Lovely staff , very polite and helpful.

Not great had the pasta for main barley warm partner had steak, size of a burger and tough . Cranberry juice more like water with dash of food colouring. Money wasted realy for a supposed local evening out

When first coming in manager was rude when saying they had no tables. Did offer us a table for later so we went online and booked. When we came back the food was lovely, nice to see the salad bar back open. Only issue we had food wise was the ice-cream is from a machine which my sister couldn't eat cause she's pregnant and there was no offer of an alternative so she left it. It took ages to try and pay, we could have walked out and no one would have noticed. We ended up going to the front to pay and the manager again was rude.

We’d been out all day and needed something to eat and drink. Although it was Friday evening the Five Bells managed to squeeze us In. We were led to our table by Kacey who was very.attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was hot, beautifully cooked and filling. Great job!

We went on the off chance of getting a table and would just like to mention Kacey and Amy. It was extremally busy and they both went out of there way to make sure all customers were looked after. A very great service thank you girls x

Booked a table but when got there it was a 2 hour wait so ended up in a beefeater who had a table free with no wait and not booked.

Went for a birthday meal our server Hannah was friendly, polite and took our order quickly. The food was good our only gripe was the slightly overcooked chips, but the steak and chicken was cooked lovely, will return.

We went to the five bells harvester in Basildon on Christmas day. The food was plentiful and lovely! But mostly the staff worked so hard on their Christmas day always smiling and making sure we had everything we needed. Well done!

Poor service. Rude staff with an attitude when mentioning we have a code to use we was just told it won’t work and then proceeded to walk off. Was sat by the kitchen where the music was loud and could hear the staff swearing, not great when with children. My son spilt a drink I asked for a cloth to clean up. I was given a cloth that’s it, no offer to help no napkins given just a look of control your child. We was give soup spoons to eat our desert with. I could go on but I just wanted to get out after hearing the staff talking about us and moaning,

We have been coming to this Harvester for many years now. Initially it was hit and miss with the food but Im pleased to say that over the past couple of years its improved and we have always been really pleased with the food and service. We regularly visit the restaurant at different times of the day and have always been happy. We are regularly been served by Kacey. She has always been really friendly and provides excellent service. She is a credit to the restaurant. Our only slight issue is that there is often very few rolls left in the salad bar (maybe its just our luck) and those that are available seem to crumble when cutting and buttering them. The Five Bells is our goto local restaurant, whether is a lunch catch up with friends or a family meal out. We would highly suggest booking as it does get busy...and a MUST if you are looking to go when the discount meal offers are on. As a side note......Our only negative (and this ISNT about the restaurant but the chain) is that we had an offer come up on our app saying we would get £5 off when we bought a £25 or over gift voucher. We purchased a £30 gift voucher, however we never got this offer. We contact their head office immediately to explain the problem. We also provided them (head office) with a screen shot of the offer and the email confirming we had bought it in the time specified and the date. They said as a gesture of goodwill they would refund us the money. This isnt really the issue, the app offer was incorrect and we was mis-sold the gift voucher.

We visited for a Christmas meal with our club the Christmas dinner was lovely with a generous portion of turkey which was really nice. Hannah our waitress was really helpful and accommodating as we all wanted separate bills, which she did with a smile, we had a very enjoyable evening.

We had a fantastic experience at Five Bells. Our waitress Hannah was so helpful, accommodating, smiley and chatty, it was so refreshing to see. The Manager was also very helpful in helping us to get our elderly disabled mum seated at the table. In addition to all this we all enjoyed our food. I am one to normally find fault with something, but I honestly can’t. Well done to all the team 👏🏻

Service is always good here I came on my birthday and was very much looking forward to chocolate fudge cake but you don’t have pouring cream so I think you could change some of your desert menu to suit everybody as not everybody likes ice cream or can cream

Stopped off here with my dog as my wife was visiting her dad I Basildon hospital. The service I got was amazing all staff were so extremely helpful, I cannot thank all of them for such an amazing visit.

I've booked my table through wocher and getting to the restaurant explained that I've already paid for the dinner which was confirmed only to finish and was told that the menu i picked from was not part of the promotion. I think that I should have been told from the front desk. It was quite humiliating arguing with bill in front of everyone. So I have to pay and forfeit my wocher coupon.

First time trying food from the harvester after being recommended by friends. I have to say the food was delicious, the staff are welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be back again!

Greeted with a warm welcome, food was great as usual, polite and helpful staff

On this occasion things were not up to usual high standards, we got seated nice and quick and our waitress was polite and friendly. What wasn't mentioned was the 40+ minutes lead in times for food orders, to be fare it took ages, we sat down at 620pm and nothing was brought out to us till 7.45pm. Unfortunately, both our burgers were tepid at best, my chicken burger was soggy and the crispy coating had gone soft and I couldn't find any cheese sauce or jalapenos as per the menu, the chips were warm and soft and heavily salted. My wife's burger was barely warm and although she asked for no sauce or salad it arrived with both. One of the other guests ordered and then 20 minutes later was informed that her choice was no longer available, I believe she ended up with 2 lots of warm chips. Bearing in mind we were there to celabrate a friend's 25th wedding anniversary it spoiled the evening, and it would have spoiled their evening for us to have complained and sent it back, we have had many a great meal at a harvester but on this occasion you guys well short. £45 for 2 burgers, 1 side and 2 small soft drinks.

Nice meal. Used to be reasonable value for money, but I guess like everything's else it's getting more expensive.

Lovely quant little place. We went for a late lunch, shown to a booth, the waitress took our order, we went for our salad, which was all freshly renewed, lots of sauce toppings to choose from, the only criticism was that the rolls were a little dry and hard, but apart from that, everything was fantastic, our meals arrived, they were plentiful, piping hot and soooo delicious, we haven’t been to a harvester, for a few years, and to be fair, we had a really great time, we will definitely, be back again. Highly recommend, give star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Poor service due to management not looking after new staff. If it’s his first night look after him!!! Duty of care!!!

Haven't been to this establishment for sometime, so the apprehension was present. Having been greeted with a welcoming smile, we, 5 + baby, were seated quickly. Our waitress for the night, was a Newby on her first day 😯, but she did a great job and couldn't fault her, so well done. New menu also, and food was great! Overall a good experience, and the tip was well deserved. We will be returning soon 🙂

The only place I’ll make the effort to write a review about. I frequent this restaurant regularly and it never disappoints. They know us by name and look after us so well! Food is always tasty and hot. It feels great to be a valued customer , thank you Five Bells!
