We'd heard good things about The Five Alls food and were very pleased when they said they did takeaway, so we ordered a Sunday lunch. At about £25pp, with limited vegetables, we had high hopes. Sadly the food did not live up to them and was very poor value for money. The meat looked like it was pre-packed frozen and most of the rest of the food was quite solid and overcooked. Maybe as a pub it's good as it was certainly busy, but the food was very disappointing.

At the Five Alls in Cheltenham, the Sunday lunch is equal parts a meal and a worthy ritual. We walked in, our stomachs grumbling from a busy morning, ready for a feast. The menu hits all the right notes: Roast Pork with Apple Sauce, Roast Chicken with Bread Sauce, Slow Braised Beef with Horseradish, and a Lentil and Nut Roast that respects the needs of the vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free folks - but we didn’t have any with us this time. You pick your meat and then the menu lists all the sides you’d want for you to pick and order separately. We were a group of inquisitive and ravenous souls, so we grabbed one of everything and threw in a Yorkshire Pudding each for good measure. The Roast Pork said with crackling, but it hadn’t crackled, a minor crime given the promise on the menu, but when the flavours on the whole are this good, you don’t hold a grudge for long. I started with a cold beer, a nod to tradition, but then we moved on to a bottle of Orange Wine that paired like a dream with our mains. The vibe was laid-back, but the food was seriously delicious. This place was recommended as a recently discovered high point, and now I’m passing on that recommendation to you. The Five Alls is a nice pub in a central location, and a place I’ll be craving like Pavlov’s dog every Sunday. I’ll be back, and next time, I better getting that crackling!

Gastro Pub at its best! We are from Spain and never had better ham croquettes ever before! So much for the tapas menu. Surprising wine list to go with the food and traditional cask ales for beer lovers. All this is being served with heartwarming friendliness in a cozy ambiente.

Amazing food, shockingly bad service. Luckily we were sat by the kitchen as we had to ask the chef if we needed to go to the bar to order. He asked someone to come and serve us. This is the 3rd time I have been in and had poor service. 1st time we waited 30 mins to order more dishes, 2nd time half the food wasnt on the menu....Gone down hill about 18 months ago.. shame as it could be a goldmine and the food is great. IF YOURE A GOOD MANAGER PLEASE TAKE OVER

We sat for 20 minutes before anyone came to us to ask for drinks or food so we went to the bar to be told it was table service, we did think this but as no one came to us we were unsure! The roast dinner was mediocre at best, not much flavour. Unsure if it was just my portion of beef or all but very fatty, did fall apart nicely however. When we’d finished our food we then sat again 20 mins with our finished plates in front of us. I understand when it’s busy, but the girls that were waiting were just sat at the bar chatting near enough the whole time. A few people we’d seen finishing up went to the bar to pay for the bill as the customer service was just diabolical. No smiles or pleasantries, didn’t feel welcome at all. They have music playing for background which was good, however we couldn’t hear this over the lads music playing from his phone in the kitchen (which is open to restaurant view and ear shot) I love Eminem but not sure the song of choice was appropriate talking about lady parts & shagging! Or while I’m eating a roast & mixed with classical, all just a bit much. I’m more than happy to be patient when restaurants are busy however there were only 4 tables taken. We went to the bar to get the bill and then waited ANOTHER 15 mins for anyone to come take payment, we went to the bar again to do it ourselves. Again no thank you for dining or pleasantries on departure which wasn’t a surprise. Considering this place has good reviews I’m shocked but quite frankly could’ve got more value for money at spoons for a fraction of the price. But maybe they just all had a bad day…?

Really great small plates! Everything was delicious! It’s such a good place in general, you think it’s just another pub but it can really surprise you! I’ve heard their Sunday roast is great too but I still haven’t been to try it. Definitely recommend going, it’s so cosy so perfect for a date or a visit with friends, but they also have space for bigger groups. Definitely try crispy pork belly BAO buns 🤤🤤🤤

We had lunch here on a Saturday. It got busy fairly quickly and the atmosphere was good. Unfortunately, we weren't overly impressed with half of the dishes we ordered. The spanakopita was incredibly greasy and hardly had any cheese in and the squid was also fairly greasy. The other dishes were good with the only criticism from me is that it was over seasoned.... Probably only my preference as my partner didn't think so Not sure we would eat here again and at £65 for lunch and a drink each, it seemed quite pricey.

The surroundings are lovely. The staff are attentive. The wine is awful. OK - we ordered a bottle if house red - expecting a specially selected cheeky number for £24.50 that was palatable. When the bottle turned up with the description “Vino Rosso” i knew we were in the mire! It was DISGUSTING!! Come on please - back yourself by selecting a decent house wine not the cheapest you can find! 🤦♂️ The food - slightly better but not an awful lot to write home about. I did enjoy the Caesar salad and salt and pepper squid (my other half didn’t though much preferring waga mamas at nearly the same price) I didn’t enjoy the pork balls - tasted slightly odd. We had several other dishes with our daughter ( her birthday ) that frankly were just not value for money. A shame really as we were very much looking forward to a special nite out. That said, the staff were professional and courteous. We left a tip to our waitress due to the embarrassment she was suffering from “feedback” about the quality of wine and food. Not her fault. Will not be going again anytime soon.

We were a table of 4 on a Thursday evening. Firstly, overall the food was pretty good (the kimchi croquettes were missing the kimchi but otherwise good). The staff were friendly and attentive. But the thing that really didn’t work for us was the music volume. It was so insanely loud it was just imposible to have a conversation. Even the order got taken down wrong due to it being so difficult to be heard. There was a DJ playing “cool Ibiza grooves” at high volume but it just didn’t work for us whilst trying to enjoy a meal. And it wasn’t clear this was going to be the case when we booked online. Tbh the DJ seemed to be there only for the enjoyment of the bar staff. Baffling.

Meal on 27.7.23 in the evening. We were lucky to get a table without booking and had the last one available. Food was great and good range of veggie options. The pub offers a Small Plate menu but we found one dish plus fries was plenty and we didn’t feel too full after. I had Baja Cauliflower Tacos and my husband had Lamb Kofta Kebabs. We both had a portion of garlic and herb fries. The choice of veggie food was great and had an Asian twist to the meals. Prices were very reasonable. It was a bit noisy which I think was probably due to the large party who were sat next to us but it wasn‘t a problem. We will definitely be going again.

Nice food, super S L O W service and inattentive staff. Five Alls does do nice tapas dishes although I think a number of them are slightly overpriced at £9-£10+ a small dish . Chorizo, Tuna, Mac n Cheese, Nduja scotch egg, burratta amongst others . Main problem is the service which took 35 mins for our drinks to arrive , and an HOUR for the food to arrive which the staff weren’t even aware of till mentioned. Certain dishes ordered at the start never arrived after an hour. Staff took one drink ordered , never returned. Suggestion : Dishes could have been incrementally delivered rather than waiting over an hour for them to turn up all together with no room on the table which is poorly thought out. Won’t be going back which is a shame.

Been here a few times. It’s a small pub that does surprisingly good tapas style meals. The Sunday lunch is surely the highlight. I’ll keep this brief as I’m still reeling. First point, do not get too comfy if you’re sat at a table having a drink. The bar staff were happy to serve the six of us drinks and immediately afterwards tell us that our table was reserved in 20 mins time. We’d been at the table for over three hours and at no point did a reserved sign appear. Second point, if you have a disability be prepared for them to disbelieve you and sarcastically ask how you’re disabled. You can imagine the smirk on their face as they do so. Even a prosthetic leg and an inability to stand at the bar didn’t stop them from telling us to move from the now reserved table. Shame on The Five Alls, and never again.

Stumbled across this lovely cafe, with fab food. Really enjoyed our little stop here. There’s a safe space downstairs for the toddlers to play, which was always helpful.
