What a super venue, compact for sure but located overlooking the fishing village of Newlyn. 6 of us visited for breakfast. The menu has multiple offerings, proper coffee and the food was home cooked in both style and reality. We sat outside overlooking the 14thC quay with the fishing fleet as backdrop. The food was well cooked and tasty and good value, £40.10 for 8 coffees and 8 breakfast bacon or sausage and egg sandwiches, with choices of bread available. I note a full breakfast was a generous offering. Overall excellent and a great way to enjoy food with a view and help a charity too!

You'll see this building on the right hand side walking towards Newlyn from Mousehole. It's well worth a visit. There are tables inside and on a warmer day, outside overlooking the harbour. We had a lovely cheese and onion toastie and the price, £4, just couldn't be beaten locally. We were made very welcome and definitely plan to return.

As previous reviewer said- down steep ramp to the old Quay where this previous Fishermens rest has been restored to provide snacks, brunch either inside- quite a small area - plus outside seating on picnic tables. Plus takeaway. Very friendly and helpful. It is a charity running it and the pricing is very reasonable- freshly cooked to order

It would be easy, and a pity, to miss this place as it sits down on the old quay at Newlyn. Access is gained via the slipway from Cliff Road, Newlyn. I believe this is a charity based community cafe. The Fisherman’s Rest is like a little tardis with seating inside and out. It is dog-friendly and very people-friendly with us being invited to join in with local chat. Such a handy stop for walkers on the coastal trail. For those visiting by car, there is a car park behind Cliff Road. A great stop off for breakfast, cooked to order, or lunchtime toasties or just for cake and coffee. Takeaway service available but then you would miss out meeting lovely people dropping in for a chat. Very well priced. I think the Fisherman’s Rest might only be opened until 2pm. Hope to drop in for breakfast again, before our holiday in Newlyn comes to an end.

Friendly staff, prompt service and a nice cream tea. There is seating in the main cafe, some more under the cover of a small marquee and loads more on the lawn. Reasonably priced too.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea
