Delicious and creative dishes! They cook fish so so well and the flavours are something special. The miso treacle tart was also a big winner. Those views! Worth every penny.

Absolutely stunning dinner. Exceptional flavours throughout the meal and every dish was beautifully crafted and presented. Service was super friendly and helpful; the setting with views across the sea is magical. Scallops, blue fin tuna tartare, crab scotch egg, catch of the day, hispi cabbage, plus a delicious desert to finish. A wonderful, wonderful evening.

A rare gem that ticks all the boxes- stunning view, laid back atmosphere, friendly service, reasonable prices, but most importantly: properly good food. Technique and flavour profiles you’d be delighted with at a far pricier place. The lemon Sole was a highlight. P.S. Back terrace was the sunniest spot mad afternoon and highly recommended. Went for dinner and had an amazing time. Cocktails were amazing, food delicious, great wine pairing, all with a beautiful view, great service and in a very nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a great experience in st Ives

A wonderful creative and varied menu using locally caught and sourced ingredients. If this site does have Michelin recognition soon, I will not be surprised!

This was a recommendation from another place in St Ives and it didn't disappoint. The really friendly team, both in the kitchen and front of house, made it a great experience. Their recommendations for food and wine were spot on. The food is innovative, creative and delicious. Even though it was a cold and windy evening, the availability of blankets made it an informal, fun and cosy visit.

MAY 24 - Back again and the food has only got better! The dishes are more refined, service just as good and the whole experience has upgraded! The crab scotch egg from last year does beat the mackerel one though, despite the gorgeous rhubarb ketchup, but the cod curry was out of this world food! The monkfish was once again divine, as was the smoked margarita. The only let down this time was the dessert, which was really poor and would be a little unfair of me to look over to be honest. Despite that, we thoroughly enjoyed a tasty and flavourful meal once again and cannot wait to go back! JULY 23 - Absolutely gorgeous! So creative with the food and flavours, with such good fish! The crab scotch egg was a masterpiece, so interesting and flavourful, really really good food. The whole evening was the best, with a lovely view on the sea and all the surfers to entertain us, good atmosphere with the relaxed music and sunset too. On the expensive side, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Very modest in a little corner of St Ives, should be more popular! Thanks guys

This place is new to us even though we visit St Ives regularly. It is quite simply superb. Quality food and service with unique flavour combinations.

Fantastic culinary experience, lovely staff, lovely location, we can't recommended It enougth. The flavours were surprising and done to perfection in a very relax and friendly atmosphere. Plenty of dairy free options. Thank you to the whole staff!

Fantastic! The food was excellent and it was a really interesting menu. The service staff were all very friendly and helpful. We sat in an outdoor booth and even on a rainy day it was a breathtaking view.

Beautiful food and dining spot!

Booked whilst on holiday only to turn up and it be shut with no sign on the door. Luckily my wife looked at Instagram to see it wasn’t opening that night. They still then charged the £40 no show fee to our card, realistically they should have been paying us for a no show. They did refund it but not the point! Poor service.

Nice location and well furnished place. Waiters and waitresses were nice and helpful. The only issue was that the nice-looking food tastes terribly. The prawn cocktail tasted like directly taken from a freezer in Tesco. The so-called prawns were small (one inche) and the meat was dry and not fresh. The catch of the day was some sort of hake fillet that costs 26 pounds but it was dry and not fresh either. In the end, I had to move to another restaurant in the downtown to have a make-up dinner.

Came to St.Ives for the first time with my partner who has been summering here since he was a little boy and we got recommended this place by quite a few people! I am not the most fishy person so was a little bit apprehensive but WOW! the food was absolutely superb! I got the prawn cocktail to start which was seasoned beautifully followed by the fish of the day which was hake and then had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Food was absolutely delicious and the views are to die for! A little bit spenny for the starters as they are relatively small but very good. Service was brilliant. I was a little bit cold as it is quite an open space but I am sure its much better in the summer! Will definitely be coming back here!

20 out of 10!! Delicious food, flavours are all amazing. And everything was cooked beautifully. The service was lovely, atmosphere was great. You must try the catch of the day, it was Ray wing when we were there! Heaven! Oh and the deep fried sticky toffee pudding was sensational! Can’t fault this place, will be back for sure

We really tasted the flavours of Cornwall! Really nice atmosphere, good cocktails and amazing food. The oysters with the yuzu and jalapeño topping where outstanding. We appreciated the superb taste of seafood!!

Our new favourite beachside restaurant in St Ives - delicious food, great service and great location. Highly recommend the Fish Shed and definitely worth booking whether you're local or on holiday - the best meal we've had out for a while. The starters of monkfish/ crab scotch egg and mains including plaice with brown shrimp and samphire were delicious. The desserts including deep fried sticky toffee pudding with creme anglaise also very good. The menu offers a small selection of interesting dishes and flavours as well as specials and we all found things we wanted to order. Reasonably priced and very good food. We were lucky enough to get a booth and most tables are also literally above the beach edge, so fantastic views and a great atmosphere. A memorable evening out..

Amazing place, excellent exciting food

Beautiful site. The prepared dishes are unfortunately too complicated for the cook! The fish we ate (monkfish, pollack) were very fresh but a little overcooked. But it is especially the prices of the fish dishes (without accompaniment) which are far too expensive! In short, poor quality/price ratio for the kitchen. Take a drink, but don't eat.

Excellent quality food! We had the catch of the day and was better than expected! Kids menu is limited but still did the trick. Drinks are super nice, we had the Sangria Rose and definitely recommend! Dog friendly and wonderful views. Quiet and homey.

The restaurant is beside the beach, so the view is amazing, but the outside of the restaurant could be better. We had the catch of the day (the expensive plate in the menu) and the sangria both were excellent!!!. They had kids menu and different cocktails options, dos friendly. Recommended

What a fantastic little restaurant! The quality of cooking was exceptional...hats off the chefs. Drinks and service were also top notch, and you can't fault that location/view. Probably the best meal I had in St Ives the week I was there.

These boys can cook! Great ingredients combined with real creativity and solid fish cookery and some innovative flavour ideas provide a wonderful eating experience. It’s an exceptional location that is complimented by attentive and thoughtful service both of which do the food justice. If you haven’t tried here you may be missing the most interesting food in St Ives - and that’s a crowded field. They deserve your support.

I only went to the beach not the restaurant but I have heard it's good

As a local family we had the most wonderful celebration of our daughter’s 18th birthday here. The food, service, atmosphere and view were without fault. I would highly recommend a visit.

The cheesy garlic bread was super delicious, and the crêpes we’re to die for! I Should recommend this hidden gem!

Food was really high quality. Only had mains and both the plaice and hake were delicious. Great mussel veloute and delish wakame and samphire. Recommend.

It was fully booked so I went there just in case, but I was glad I was able to use it. I ordered Korean fried monkfish and cabbage side dish. The combination was so good, and this dish was so delicious that you can't taste it in Korea or London. It was a special and delicious dish. When people around me tell me they are going to Cornwall, I will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Such an amazing restaurant in St Ives tucked away past the Tate - really delicious and interesting food (not really seen anywhere else in the local area) paired with lovely drinks and friendly staff. Defo my fave place here - I highly recommend the crab fries and Hake wings!

Limited menu but all fresh, interesting and innovative dishes. Its right up from the water so lovely for beach watching at sunset. Staff friendly and happy.

Quite pricey for what you get. A main will not fill you up, so you’d need to get a side of chips or something as well. Came here for the sole purpose of trying out their ‘octodog’ dish, which was advertised on their website menu at the time of visiting. However, arrived to find out that they had now changed this to the ‘prawn dog’. It was ok, but not amazing. They have since updated their website but I wish they were more on it to save us a trip to a restaurant we would have otherwise not visited. Dogs welcome at their outside booths.

Best seafood in St Ives - delicious 😋

A hidden gem on the most beautiful beach overlooking the sea, great for sunset watching. Food was some of the best food we have eaten and the best in St. Ives. Lovely service too. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Nestled into the rocks overlooking the harbour, what’s not to like… well, the team here have not just tried to ‘sell’ their location to customers, rather the creative menu and inspiring kitchen crew have put together a really special selection. It could have been easy to offer the ‘standard’ sea fare, but I enjoyed their take on what a fish forward menu can offer. Highly recommended and will be back!

A great view and a beautiful location right on the beach. The prices are OK, but the portions are small. Side dishes are served in disposable dishes, beer from a can. At the same time, you're trying to appear hip. That is not consistent in itself. The taste was ok, but it didn't blow us away...

The best restaurant we’ve dined at for a while (even though we live in London and surrounded by amazing restaurants). The menu is short and most dishes are with some kind of Asian influence. If you like Asian food like us then you will LOVE the dishes. Our favourites were the fish wings and the fish burger (with doubanjiang!). The kimchi noodles with cheese was so interesting too. The cocktails were also amazing with super punchy flavours and so special. Would totally come back to St Ives just for this restaurant!

To access you have to go through the car park then down the steps. Wow, it’s like Ibiza chill out vibes. Great food, good service and lovely views. Note the food does not come on plates, rather more like takeaway packaging but you do get propper cutlery and they have a bbq food from 12pm-5pm. Also try the moomaid strawberry and clotted cream ice cream (amazing)

Feel so lucky to have found this fantastic place!!! Had an amazing evening , beautiful location right on Porthmeor beach. Modern funky surf beach vibe with unusual, delicious, extremely tasty dishes. We had Korean monkfish, light spicy batter but not hot chilli wise. Just absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked fish crunchy light thin batter which we paired with cheesy chips which was an excellent idea! Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Also had Cornish Hake loin with fishcake/crab with a crab coconut bisque, not hot spicy wise, delicious hints of lemongrass, ginger and lime to compliment the fish, coconut and crab. Topped with soft seaweed as a vegetable, just absolutely delicious. Honestly rates amongst the best food we've ever eaten out. 👌🏻🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We followed with the only pudding on offer the Chocolate pot, but who needs anything else!! we did share it though as it was rather large for one person!! Chocolate brownie, chocolate mousse, cherries in Kirsch caramel sauce and local vanilla ice cream with a blitzed chai seed topper for crunch!! Just gorgeous. Drinks wise enjoyed Cornish Orchards Gold, sparkling organic Les Fleurs Blanches which was lightly sparkling and appely ( it went beautifully with the fish) and an orange blossom negroni for finish which was perfumed and short. Just the best experience of our holiday so far, thank you so much Fraser and your amazing chef we will be back soon 👌🏻😉🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
