Always a queue as nothing is ever ready, missing items from the order or wrong items sent. Chips are limp and not worth the wait. Sick of going back so won't be going again.

Beautiful food, good price and really lovely lady serving.

Usually really good here, however today the chips tasted re-warmed up! Really rubbery and tasteless! The pie was dried up and nasty! Such a disappointment think I will try another chippy next time.

The fish and chips from the fish shack is always amazing piping hot and so tasty very had a bad meal from there.

Always a constant long wait for chips! Never any ready! I once left the queue and drove all the way to Grimsby chip shop on welford road instead, drove back past the fish shack and the woman who was in front of me still hadn't been served! Absolute waste of time going there.

Changed their chicken kebab meat, it’s awful. Really enjoyed the last one. Also won’t be ordering again as someone else has experienced more hair in their food! Wear hair nets! How hard is it? Also no one wants your arms leaning on the paper they are having their food on!

The food was cold and the meat tasted and looked like rubber

First time here 2 weeks back. I had a black hair mixed in with one of the kebabs, something that’s hard to get over. 🤮

Disappointing. Potato fritter was burnt and dry but also swimming in grease it was quite bizarre. Sausage and chips were also very greasy. Burger was burnt. Fish cake was the only thing that was ok. I wouldn’t order again.

Another chip shop in leicester that seems to think cooking food at lunch time and leaving it out in room temp in the summer. No wonder the food is disgusting. Amazing they have a 5 star food hygiene. It's not that the food tastes horrible but it's actually illegal to reheat it especially as its sitting in the "danger zone"

Why couldn’t I get my 10% off my order

Outragously expensive online.. the food was cold and stale not fresh spoke to someone who couldn’t speak English and refused to fix the problem

Typical British fish and chip shop. Good sized portions and a lot of choice on the menu. The staff are always friendly too. There is always a queue which says it all really

The food was delivered over an hour late. They refused to reimburse anything, sending a text to say they were busier than expected. Not acceptable. Fish was very greasy, couldn't eat the batter.

Our good cooks back. Whoever did todays is amazing. We love this person. Someone last time did it rubbish. But 9/10 times it’s perfect and we absolutely love The Fish Shack.

Just ordered from Just Eat from here - the food was probably the worst I have ever ordered! The fish batter was stuck to the paper and what I did peel off was mushy and tasteless. The fish was cold and had no taste - frozen made. The potato fritter again all batter stuck to paper so only potato and the chips were the worst smush I have ever tasted. This has put me off fish and chips for life for sure. Plus the chicken and mushroom pie was microwaved - feeling pretty sick right now.

Lovely place to get you fish n chips from. Aswell as other foods. Been coming here for many years, it's always welcoming, staff are very polite and the service is quick. Oh yeah and the food tastes great every time.

I’m a regular at the fish shack but today their quality was sub standard. The chips were cold and soggy. The fish was cold too and they looked like they were the last fish left on the shelf. All in all not a cared for meal.

Not very nice overall. Chips were soggy and didn’t have salt on when I selected the option. Nuggets tasted like frozen nuggets. Curry sauce tasted odd.

Both ordered mixed kebab in naan and a small bag of chips, everything was just yummy and full of flavor, portion size was amazing definitely ording again, please dont change anything. Best kebab we have had in a long time.

You missed out our pancake rolls X2? But charged us. The chips were a very small portion for a large. They we're very pale and soggy. Burger bun with a flower dust? The kebab with naan was completely squashed. Last time we ordered a beef burger you sent it with cheese which I had too scrape off. For the price charged it's no where near the too the quality original fish and chip shops used to be. Sorry to say I will not order from you again.

Order late and then they delivered the wrong food! Ordered a chicken kebab and received a dinner kebab.

Ordered and paid for a mixed meat kebab.... collected it and got it home to find it was just doner meat only.....Ah well...that's this day and age for you....

food took over 2 hours too arrive when it arrived the box had melted all over the burger and had to be thrown away , we always order from here but food was not good tonight and was thrown away :(

We got a notification saying driver on way. 30 Mins later it still hadn’t arrived. We called the restaurant who said it was 1 minute away. It arrived as we spoke. We were then missing the chips from our order and the rest I.e scampi, fish cake ect was only luke warm. We called to let them know we were missing the chips. They said they’d send them now, and would be a further 20 mins. It’s now been 25 minutes. All our food is cold and we are still waiting for chips. Very disappointed. And hungry.

Wife and I had different experiences at the same time. After a hard day and struggling to find a fish and chip shop half decent in Leicester I treated us to fish and chips from The Fish Shack. The customer service is really good, very friendly and smiling. They even had banter with one of their regulars. I chose this place based on location being close to my home and the many 5 star reviews. Here is my full evaluation... Wife had small fish and chips with curry sauce. Portion size was very adequate, however, the fish was tepid but you could tell it was a quality product as was flaky and white. The batter became soggy due to loss of temperature.The chips were mildly warm. We both agreed the curry sauce seemed very sweet. She would have given 2 stars for hers. I had large fish and chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. The chips I agreed was mildly warm, but my fish was piping hot with crispy batter. This makes me think that maybe small fish was under a heat lamp whilst the large fish was cooked fresh. Mushy peas very generic (Wife makes better after adapting a 30p can). I also ordered a large portion of doner meat to have with curry sauce (just because I'm strange like that). The meat was very greasy and after turning the flash on whilst taking the picture I discovered just how much it shined. Even the curry sauce had a shine to it, possibly from oils used. I was willing to give a 4/5 for my whole experience so between us we settled on 3 stars. I have had much worse in Leicester, however as of writing this have found nothing better.

Chips were alright but the fish was genuinely fantastic. Batter could be crispier but the taste and texture were still both excellent.

Issue with delivery even told it was delivered but no one answered told order wasn't wanted then when delivered 2.5hrs after first ordering felt meal was a re heated .wast of £28.00 food went in bin would not recommend or use again.

Thought I would try this chip shop again as not been in a while but pie was soggy and microwaved, chips were cold and had weird texture, also doner meat was thin, cold and dry, Nan bread cold like didn’t even bother to warm it up, we very disappointed

Chicken in the kebab was really burnt, the food was cold and the chips were soggy and brown not happy at all. Waste of money

Food is always great quality and well cooked. However,,,, over the last few orders I have noticed that they are getting what can only be called"a little stingy" with the chips. A while back an order of "LARGE" chips was easily enough for three(3)adults, but now there are barely enough for two(2) adults. Not sure if it's just me that's been unlucky to get the short serving or if anyone else has noticed this too.

Ordered food at 5:25pm to be specifically delivered at 19:20 , (more than enough time to get the order right as I work night shifts) food turned up 10 mins late, chips were soggy, kebab arrived with salad (that was told to be separate)
