Good sized portions and chips ok but disappointing batter on the fish

Although with new management it keeps the look and feeling of a traditional, plain and simple fish and chips shop. Only tried once but the quality was excellent, fresh, tasteful and of course wrapped in paper! Good point to meet the locals too. Take your share and enjoy it nearby at the astonishing St. Mary Church.

Been here thousands of times! However I’ve had some bad time’s here having cold and tasteless food! But 90% of the time the food is good. But if you get it fresh out the fryer. They are unreal!

Can't remember how long this chippy has been here but it's still as good as it was when I lived in Pompey 30 years ago. Not the same people I remember but the quality, portion size, taste and price are still very very good.
