Dirty cafe, food very ordinary, long wait. Ordered a sandwich and the bread was actually mouldy - apology given and taken off the bill. Never again

We returned to The Firs today for the third time in a little over a month. So far we have had tea and cake, a full English breakfast and most recently hot sandwiches with chips. The place is clean and welcoming, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food and drink is great. There is a b&b as well, which I would happily recommend to family or friends looking to stay locally. If you’re in the village be sure to take a walk up to the old ruined church at nearby Segenhoe, only about 10 minutes across the fields; a great way to walk off your food or work up a thirst!

On one of the hottest days of the year, 19th June 2017 this Cafe would not fill a walking groups water bottles. Girls aged 13 and 14 on their Duke of Edinburgh 9 mile challenge with there School. Paying customers only. You are a disgrace. Couldn't even give them tap water. You are everything that is wrong with society today. Don't bother with this Cafe.

If you're looking for exotic 'fairtrade' coffees and franchise prices then this isn't the place for you. On the other hand if you like good simple fare served by friendly staff in a spotless, old world style' cafe then look no further.

Now that`s what I call a proper cheese salad sandwich, put wheels on the 4 corners and you could drive it to Bognor. and if you looked out the window on a Sunday I bet you would see a line of boy cubs snaking their way to All Saints church. As I contemplated life over the rim of my teacup I could here The Beatles quietly singing Anytime At All. Can`t beat that

Friendly hosts offered good value accommodation. They have a deserved reputation for their excellent cooked breakfast. Only 10 minutes from the Center Parks Spa by road. Woburn Safari Park & House are nearby too. There is just one en suite double but the other rooms are reasonable size if you are willing to use a separate bathroom.

My 2nd review for this place, the food is so good, the staff are friendly and helpful, especially the young girl, it's always busy in there which is a good sign, but you are never waiting too long for your food, it's always hot, fresh and delicious, we have become regulars since our first chance visit here

Visited yesterday lunchtime after bring recommended by w colleague and I was not disappointed. I had the omelette and chips, but the portion size was massive so could have just had the omelette! Perfectly cooked, piping hot and only £4.50.We were served by a really lovely, polite girl and the good arrived in 15 minutes....there were 4 of us and we all had different meals, so this was brilliant. If you're looking for a posh lunch then this isn't for you, but if you want value for money, great tasting cafe grub, this is perfect. They also do take away lunches to order, so will be going back soon.

First thing - empty at least 7 mixed tables free THIS WAS Empty AT LIKE 945 AM , Staff looked down their nose as if we knew they were FULL! Then said after being approached- we are full , never even asked what we wanted - and that would have been what 15 minute drink? We had no wish to eat I am shocked in attitude and ethos of the place - would not be willing to recommend or re visit

There seems to be a big problem with their drains ! The smell in there was horrendous ! The toilets were worse .A very tired pub, tape holding down carpet and holes in the floor.Absolutely awful ! Won't be going back there in a hurry !

We booked afternoon tea for four about a week in advance, this was dealt with by the event organiser who couldn't have been more helpful, When we arrived the staff were waiting for us and conducted us to the old library where a single table was prepared for us. We had expected to be in the restaurant and to have a private room was a real treat. Our party included a vegetarian and a gluten intolerant guest. The Chef had prepared separate plates of sandwiches for these two as well as a seperate stand of glutent free cakes. There was a good variety of sandwiches which were obviously freshly prepared and well presented, the cakes and sweets were varied and excellent. The service was A1 and unobtrusive, fresh tea being brought in on request. We all really ate too much, but the food was so nice we just had to clear the plates :-) A very special afternoon for us and we shall return. We do enjoy an afternoon tea when we can ~ our overall service experience here was far better then at Woburn, much quieter and personal than that at Frosts at Willington and better service and fresher food than the at the Swan in Bedford,

We ate here whilst staying at the hotel. It was during a Wedding Reception. We were warned ahead of time that there may be a delay in the food arriving. However we felt that there was no perceptible delay. The food we ate was delicious! The Staff were very friendly and approachable.
