I ordered a pizza and peri melt and shocking to receive the food like stone cold. Totally disappointed. Had to warm the pizza and the melt still couldn’t finish it as it’s never the same when you have to reheat food. They definitely lost their touch. Tried calling never picked up. Even chips were cold. I think we may have been the last service. As ordered at 8:30 to pick up in 10 min he said. Which I found very shocking.

The service was very welcoming when entering but once order placed food came in dribs and drabs meaning couldn’t enjoy meal together. Drinks came much much later after food being finished. Requested to have a tart from the counter but was refused as wasn’t for sale at the time. Overall food was tasty but the service received was appalling.

Went for lunch with my daughter today to celebrate our joint Birthday. Food was lovely, and quick to arrive. Staff were polite and friendly. Atmosphere was busy but relaxed. Will definitely be back

Christmas day roast dinner priced at £14 per person an absolute total rip off. Large Yorkshire pudding which was raw filled with a pathetic amount pulled lamb, 3 tiny potatoes 1, yes 1 baby carrot, 1 slither of pepper, 1 slither of red onion, and 4 green beans all of which were raw, no seasoning and a small pot of Gravy. Never again. Found out later this place was doing buy one get one free on this exact same meal on uber eats. All style and no substance you will pay money in this place and leave hungry and disappointed. Avoid at all cost

We had the full breakfast and the desi breakfast. The quality of the food was excellent. The menu prices is very value for money. The wait for the food was minimal. The place has spacious seating and the staff were friendly. I advise wisely to order additional purees with your desi breakfast as the portion size is really good.

WOW WOW WOW! Absolutely amazing food. Fantastic value and lovely staff! What more can you ask for? We drove all the way from Newton-le-willows to visit here as we were meeting friends so highly recommend it and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I love the dessert selection! I also loved the portion sizes. We will be back!! :-)

Recommended this place by a good friend of mine .. The food was ace .. Starters we had Mozzarella sticks and Nachos .. nice and fresh and tasted really good .. They had some unusual flavoured Mojitos and as I am obsessed with Irn Bru, I had to have an Irn Bru Mojito. It was nice but rather steeply priced for a soft drink (£5) .. but I guess you pay for what you are getting!!! For mains we had minted burgers, lamb burger, crispy chicken burger and a Sunday roast .. All were fully of flavour and tasted very nice .. Very filling .. the burgers came with skin on fries .. For deserts we had Churros, Bakewell tart (with custard) and bizarrely a fried ice cream ball .. Never heard of a friend scream cream ball before but damn it was nice looking .. My mate didn’t share .. lol All the food was halal and I would definitely go back .. all in all and great experience … The staff were great and accommodating .. Just make sure you call first and book a table ..

Bit of a mixed bag here. Came with a relative on a quiet Sunday. Ordered the chicken wings and tempura prawns and both were excellent. Chicken wings were exceptional and the prawns were cooked as expected with light batter. The main, pulled lamb with veg, was rather disappointing. The lamb was very nice and the gravy was spicy (chili or pepper hot). The hasselback were soft but needed more colour, the carrot was not cleaned properly and was tough and almost raw, the red onion and pepper had no place on the dish as they were not cooked like the runner beans and needed more cooking. If the veg had been cooked then the dish would have been so much better. However, these are easy things to do so frustrating. The Yorkshire puds were fantastic. The biscotti cheesecake was wonderful. Overall a 3/5 but should have been a 4. Staff were very nice and attentive. I would return but order a different main

Just placed an order for collection and food was ready on time however, I was not impressed at all having been and eaten in on a number of occasions I was very disappointed! Firstly I thought the Halloumi Fries were massively overpriced for £5 and came with a tiny tub of sweet chilli sauce. And the Samosa chat for £6! It was as if the samosa and chat were not even fresh even though it was freshly prepared it had too much Sev and not enough sauce and the actual portion size was served in a large tin container but would have easily fit in a small one. Wouldn't recommend these to anyone and they were Daily specials too!

I go to this place every now and again and can honestly say it is consistenly excellent. The food is really homely and you just know that you can order anything off the menu and it will be tasty. Customer service is always excellent and the food presentation is exceptional. As the title says, if you want consistenly good food in a pleasant setting, this place wont let you down.

Decent. It’s a casual little place in Blackburn. I enjoy going here for the starters and the churros! Mains have been a hit and miss at times. However.. I would definitely order from the specials board.. pretty good variety on there. The roast is definitely a 10/10! 100% HALAL. Parking is a nightmare ..! Drinks are great.

I've been a few times. It's a hit and miss! Starters are nice. Mains are decent but I've had times when they were awful...especially when it's busy! However... they do have a pretty decent specials board with a lot of variety! It's decent enough to go back for a few of the items on the menu and the churros! They are awesome! Casual place. No parking.. Just have to find somewhere on the side street or main road if possible.

Was a great little hidden gem, popped in unexpectedly and was amazed by the food as mentioned below a mixed fusion diner with great tasting food and service with a smile. Staff wearing face shields and masks with sanitiser at the door. parking during wasn't an issue. A few items not available but that was to be expected as its Covid times and restaurants wont know how busy they are.

Tentatively went to Fig and Olive, to find it quite busy but very safe. It was nice to hear bubbles of laughter and chatter. There is a hand sanitizer at the door and all staff are wearing masks. The food was delicious and I would have happily paid full price for our meal. It was my first time at Fig and Olive but definitely will not be the last:)

Went for dinner with my sister and two aunts. Ordered a variety of dishes (manchow soup, lamb chops, chicken wings, prawns and the mezze platter) to share. Everything was spot on! Warm, very tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. Farheen who looked after us whilst we were there is an absolute asset to the restaurant. She was smiley, friendly and remembered a very specific takeaway order. Nothing was too much trouble and it truly was service with a smile! Thank you! We will be back!

Fabulous service this time- super quick. There were 2 adults, 4 teens and 1 toddler. We tried manchow soup, lamb chops, samosa Chaat, mocktails, peri peri panini and med veg panini as well as churros. Cost £83

Went to Bolton branch twice. Unfortunately the food is a big miss. The only thing decent was the lamb chops and friendly staff. Seeing these insta-bloggers hyping it and the food being served perfectly with extras to them to what you actually get is unfair. Blackburn branch food is A LOT better. A shame, was very excited about this place opening in Bolton but it’s .

Don’t bother with the new Bolton branch.. we didn’t even make it.. double booked us.. asked us to come earlier but we’d booked a time convenient for our kids.. refused to ask the other party to change their time as they were a bigger party! disappointed.. seems they are only interested in the ‘blogging’, ‘insta famous’ customers!!

Honestly have only heard good things so was eager to visit. A few of us met up for lunch, a favourite for one of my friends, she can’t recommend enough. Had lasagne off the specials and was really good, just to add it’s a chicken lasagne with an Indian twist. A friend got the chicken sizzler which was super good! Churros for dessert and were lovely! Had a passionfruit mocktail as well, was so good! Everyone else was so happy with there food too. The food is great, a fusion of different cultures. maybe slightly expensive. The staff, for us, were great, I don’t understand some of the negative reviews in that regard. Overall a great visit and will definitely visit again. My only gripe is parking, found it very difficult to find anywhere to park.

This place is mutton dressed as lamb. This is not a restaurant, more of a cafe/bistro, at restaurants you don’t have to go to the counter to order and pay for your food! The place is run by kids who really don’t know what they are doing and have very little common sense or customer service. In my opinion, it is very expensive for the food you get when sitting on plastic chairs and wobbly tables. I’m a vegetarian and ordered the potato skins with cheese, however the chef took it upon themselves to add chicken to the skins, they can’t even cook what’s in their own menu. The portion sizes are far too small and the food is quite basic, their specials are ludicrously expensive and don’t seem to change! Michelin star restaurants do not charge their rates and I’ve been more comfortable sitting in a Greggs! I honestly wouldn’t waste your time!

Average outlook. Food was expensive for what it was but I did enjoy the lasagne. Staff were not very helpful or friendly. Don't think I would attend again

Went to the fig and olive for breakfast with the family after been here in the past food so thought let’s see how the breakfast scores. We had the English breakfast, desi breakfast, egg barn and croissants all which was lovely and fresh. The staff are always nice and friendly. Breakfast and food have been excellent and tasty.

Food is nice, service is good. Prices are expensive... which wouldnt mind if portions were right. I came here 2 years ago.. i did like it. But again, please either reduce your prices or increase portion size :)

The food was good but expensive for what it was.The cheesecake was extortionate in price.Very skimpy on tap water had to keep asking for my glass to be filled again as they did not provide jugs.Surroundings were average and it was cold inside.

The fig and Olive is a favourite of mine when deciding to go somewhere local. Always accommodating and friendly staff whilst the food is always good and decently priced. Ordered the Wagyu burger this time and is was really nice, would highly recommend. Not had a burger this nice in a while. Rest of the food was good as usual. However was is up with bar of chocolate for £3?!?!?!

A nice little place for some halal food... Quick service and good presentation. We ordered King prawns for starter: the sweet chilli sauce went very nicely with the prawns. Had a mint lamb burger which was ok and also a Lebanese mezze... The falafels were quite dry.

It's a very nice and cosy place. Definitely good for the kids as they have enough room to run about whilst waiting for the meals to be served. Staff are very friendly and interactive. A little on the pricey side but food definitely paid justice for it. I had the Chicken Skewers with Peri Rice, Fries and Salad.

Crispy chicken burger was really nice (had mine topped with an onion ring) which made it better. Pizza was decent and churros at the end. Service from waiter haroon was excellent, he took care of us until the end. Thank you Haroon

Booked a table for 12 arrived and our table wasn’t ready, when they’d finished putting tables together & after I swept the crumbs from the seats we sat down & were given menues, I had baked potatoe with tuna, cheese & coleslaw, the potatoe was barely warm & was hard, tuna was sparse, hardly any cheese. Very poor quality, poor service will not be returning.

First off, I went in the evening - I think this would be perfectly good during the day. Portions not as big as I'd hoped, very untidy with tables full. Sit yourself down. (was busy though). Go here if you are happy for the furniture to get moved around and with a large dollop of chaos. Worth mentioning that I was the only English person there! Not bothered personally but there will be some who are- As long as you come with an open mind! Back to the food. Adequate, but the portions were distinctly small. I had waited all day to tuck in to my meal and sadly, had to move somewhere else to get pudding! Perfect for lunch or a casual affair but not nearly polished enough for an evening meal where you might want to dress up a little. Service was friendly, if a little confusing as you order at the bar, which, incidentally, does not serve booze:- you have been warned. Wouldn't go again, but that's not to say we didn't have a nice time, simply a bit too unruly for an evening out. Oh, you may see people randomly start to do their prayers here too. Again, just so you are not confused!

Fig and olive has such a homely feeling when you enter. It has a relaxed feeling inside and everything is just so calm about the place. The location is a bit of a tricky one and I'd love if they relocated to a better and bigger place however saying that I can't fault them. They have great tasting breakfast lunch and dinner and they don't fail to disappoint with the fresh tasting food which always tastes as good as home food! Would recommend to everyone to go there.

Been to fig and olive on few occasions, its never consistent, which is such a shame as it is a local restaurant, the service is just too slow, you have to think twice before you decide to go, it seems you need just over two hours for you and a friend to have lunch which is a very long time when you have a busy schedule, otherwise when the food actually comes out it is very tasty.

A hidden gem in the middle of Blackburn.Truly impressed as the waiting staff put together 2 tables as there were 11 of us.food and starters ordered and were absolutely delicious a bit pricey but nothing expensive and well worth it.Didnt have to wait long but left thoroughly satisfied.Would recommend and definitely come again.

Heard about this place but never thought of trying it until today. It’s a family run business in a cosy setting.

Food was excellent. I ordered the Sunday roast. But the service was poor. The owner decided to have a meeting next to my table. Bare loud. Things like this should be done privately not in front of a packed place. 2 waiters 40 customers. But allow I’ll come again cause food is good lol. Overpriced but minor man you only live once

I like to try a different place every week and me and the Missus decided to go to the Fig and Olive. Its a tidy place and a decent menu.

Doesn’t fail to deliver. Amazing customer service. Ordered potato skins, chicken and potato pie and jerk chicken. Reliable to fill you up if you’re expecting a good hearty meal.

Starters were served before mains!! And we had to eat quickly otherwise our food would be in the hot drawer too long which ended up being sticky

Heard good things but left disappointed overall and the prices are a complete rip off as well as not being clearly advertised. Ordered 2 drinks, samosas (mini), lamb chops and a thali with a bill of nearly £33.00. Samosas were mini with some kind of chicken filling and not properly defrosted so were watery and cold inside. Thali was the smallest portions you will ever find, average curry's and lukewarm chapattis and wrongly priced, told it was £11 charged £14 overall. Again lamb chops which were decent, 4 in total for nearly £9. Finally the tables and menus were dirty and everything seemed a bit chaotic. Prices not justified for price and quality.

A lovely little restaurant with yummy food. A menu that appeals to both adults and children. All of the food was lovely but particularly enjoyed the gujrati thali and the churros were amazing. Service was a little slow with the desserts as the restaurant was full but would definitely recommend it and look forward to going again.

There was very little meat in the actual burgers regardless of whether it was beef or lamb, you could tell they had mixed in a lot of flour or breadcrumbs as they tasted and looked that way. Then to top it off they forgot the chips for one of the burgers, by the time the missing chips arrived there was really no point. The quality of the food was poor, the service is even worse, It is almost like a family run hobby cafe where they have no actual training yet they charge high end prices, better off driving a little further and going to Marco and Carl in Preston.

I go all the way from Bradford to go eat at this place, as you all probably know when it comes to halal food Bradford has it all. However the Fig and the olive is unique, they cook English, Indian, Italian, Asian and many other dishes in a unique way. I love going in and getting something from their specials board. They always seem to have something unique up and most of their dishes taste amazing. Also their mojitos are to die for I love them best mocktails I've tasted by far and I'm a mocktail lover and order them everywhere I go. Definitely check them out, they have excellent food and drinks and great customer service

It seems like they are never open. I have been on 3 different occasions. 1st time they were redecorating, 2nd time shut even though open hours said they would be open and 3rd time the kitchen was shut only cold food available. Not going to again because they have obviously made so much money they do not need the custom. Pathetic. Open when you say you are!!

Visited 21/07/17- a group of 12. The place was really busy but that didn't stop us being served on time and the main thing was the food was absolutely delicious! Starters, main and desserts were lovely. Definitely will be visiting again very soon

Well worth the drive from Manchester. Have to say service next to nothing ana quality served ana very tasty. Pizza best I have in time puts pizza hit ana Dominos aside. Desert well presented. Will visit again with family. Must give this place try little gem in blackburn. Till next time keep up the good work

Went for a casual meal, and I was surprised that the food was actually quite good. The place itself was well presented, very relaxed etc. The only thing that was a bit strange was that we were asked to leave because people were waiting for a table like mid conversation. Now never in my life have I been asked to leave a table. No matter how long we have been sat there and no matter how long people have been waiting. Not sure if this happens elsewhere but first time it had happened to me. And it was a bit of a sour ending to a lovely meal.

Great atmosphere. Very spacious for prams (my group had two). Service was great. Food was amazing. Would come again.

A small place suitable for a catch up with friends. The food is nicely presented and service is on the ball too. A varied menu with specials for the day. Parking is a small issue.

What can I say we had dinner with friends in Blackburn at home. We wanted desert we took a trip down to The Fig & Olive they had all the desserts you can think of including the a traditional corn flake tart and hot custard. Good looks good we will give that a try next. Friends my staff and owners ana very helpful. Till next time. Keep up the good work. And people do give this place a shot worth the trip from Manchester make a change

Went in the afternoon, had a good time. Staff were very polite, courteous and accommodating and food was just as good. And to top it off the spicy chai latte at the end was just right.

Great relaxing atmosphere...waiter was exceptionally well mannered...food was great, can tell fresh ingredients used and the homemade charcoal burger buns a total surprise!!!! Only place you can eat out in Blackburn and not worry about it being "fast food"

Visited Fig & Olive for some afternoon light snacks, Service was good as the place was not too busy, placed order for a daily specials which was lasagna & peri chicken pannini as well as refreshments.The good was faultless & taste was as good as it lookedMust go again soon.

Went here for the works' Crimbo do....never been before so no idea about the place....what a thoroughly pleasant evening!!! Friendly and welcoming staff, great service and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. I will definitely go again and will recommend it to family and friends...I am quite a tough customer but could honestly find no fault...a really lovely all-round experience....also, it's about 15 to 20 minutes walking distance from the town centre...

I enjoyed the food and the service, polite mannered waiter, they provided excellent food and the taste was amazing. The food wasn't bland in any way. Will come again

Another visit and certainly was not disappointed. The lasagne and sweet chilli chicken tasted great, the atmpsphere was pleasant though the wait was rather long, in this instance it was understandable with it being a busy hour.

It was my first visit and I have to say I will be back! The service was lovely, it was clean and the food was great! We attended as a couple with my son and niece and the chap behind the counter was really lovely. Nothing was too much and the portions were good. My husband order a tea which was not on the menu but they went out of their way to make it for him. Keep up the good work!!!

This is an improvement from last time i visited! Amazing food, can not fault in the food. Great sized and easy chicken steak. Good portions. Desserts are definitely worth the money, huge portions for the price! An enjoyable experience. The only fault would be the time it takes for the food to arrive. It does take a little extra time for the food, hopefully this will improve. Regardless of time though, i will be returning this weekend! Fantastic food! great job x

We visited here and ordered cold drinks, nachos and the chicken sizzler special.The food was really tasty, and I could tell it was fresh and not pre-cooked, so please about that.My only criticism would be the nachos were just warmed chips with ketchup type salsa and cheese dip, and although nothing wrong, more effort could have gone into it.It was also raining outside and radiators were off, so bit chilly.Other then that, both service and food were good.

I usually order the chicken club sandwich and I'm never disappointed. the staff are all very friendly and are very welcoming. the service is quick and it's an amazing location to have pretty much any kind of food! whether that be breakfast lunch or dinner! definitely would recommend.

The food was prepared and presented well. Service is slow but that could be due to the food being freshly prepared to order. Staff friendly.

The food is good but not as good as it was on my previous visit which was a bit of a let down. Though i generally find the staff friendly today was rather uncomfortable. I went for a quick bite with my sister and nephews, my nephew accidently spilled a drink and the staff were clearly annoyed which i guess is understandable but not what i call good customer service... i apologised twice but was seemingly ignored. I personally just do not think its a child friendly place which is sad!!I'm doubtful about returning.

Went for a family tea at Fig and Olive.Thought the food was nice and the dessert churros was amazing :-)Thought the main meal portion could abit bigger. Service was ok could have been improved my taking order at the table rather than having to get up and order at the till.My previous visit wasn't great I think they have improved the service side.In my first visit one of the workers looked very scruffy in joggers big beard and shirt thought it let the restaurant down he also didn't have very good customer service skills. He's image wasn't great! This time round the staff members looked professional in uniform and also made real effort to make you feel welcome.New Menu looked good a lot of variety.

The food is amazing! Love their club sandwiches. You can tell everything is made fresh. Need to come back!! In regards to service it can be a little quicker, but that's a minor issue.

Visited the fig and olive for the first time. The food was excellent especially the special which were the lamb shanks. The waiters were attentive and the food arrived quickly. Leave room for desserts as the waffles and the peanut butter stack were to die for. Will definitely be going back soon.

I have read mixed reviews for this place but thought I'd give it a try anyway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was good if a little slow. Ice cream sundaes were good. The downside was the sticky tables and grubby menus which is why I only have 3 stars.

Love the place. The food is great and the presnetation of the food is lovely. Staff are friendly. Great atmosphere. The cookie dough is an ultimate favourite :)

On the first time had chicken caesar salad. Just bits of chicken chucked in with little gem lettuce leaves.Nacho's came with processed melted cheese, so weren't to my liking.Both times I have been had to chase up for my food.Selection of cheese cakes look and taste good but I'm afraid so not enough to draw me in for a third visit.

In my last review of fig and olive I complained mostly about the service. Even after new ownership I still believe an extra waiter would be a lot more useful, for both staff and customers. But well done to the hard working and polite waiter who managed mostly on his own on a busy night. The food was brilliant and the new manager was very kind and polite, and took the constructive criticism on board. I would definitely recommend their chicken pizza! I'd heard work colleagues raving about this place, so paid a visit one Sunday afternoon after a sunny walk in the nearby Corporation Park.Nice place, converted old boozer from yesteryear! Friendly young chap showed us to our seats, mixture of a cafe and restaurant.Lots of choice on the menu, from snacks to main meals. Selection of delicious looking cakes.I went for a non alcoholic mango and orange mojito, work of art! Followed by a posh fish finger sandwhich, came with side salad and nachos. Cooked from fresh and really nice, though a tad heavy on the mayo.Didn't have a cake, but looked nice. However I had a VERY upset tummy the day after, not sure if it was the fresh fruit or the mayo. I have a very delicate constitution!I wouldn't make it a regular place to go, but it was nice for a change, particularly on a sunny day after a walk. No real parking apart from the roads surrounding, so be wary.

What a delight, the menu is forever changing but you can rely on something unique or niche every week, personally loved their sticky BBQ wings and tomahawk steak. Foods absolutely up to spec and desserts are served fast and pergect. A wide range of drinks to complement. The owners love to make sure you've been served well. I'll be going again

Had a delicious lunch here today. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the service was very good. The food was fabulous; I had jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese, spicy wedges and a Piri Piri melt hot sandwich - the flavours were fabulous! To drink I had the luxury hot chocolate which was also good. The only negative thing was that there was no hand towel/paper towels in the bathroom and a group of 4 very noisy young men spoiled the atmosphere towards the end as they were not well behaved! Had it not been for those two things this review would have said excellent.

I visited with friends and our children. The staff were very friendly. We ordered the special which tasted amazing! We also had the peri peri chicken melt. This was awesome! My 2 year old son had the magheritta pizza from the kiddies menu and ate it all up, this is unusal so they should take that as a big compliment. This is my first visit and I will definetly be going again as it was great value for money.

A Great evening with the other half, we went and were greeted upon arrival, we were made to feel comfortable and takeour seats, the menu followed and we ordered accordingly starters mains drinks, the service was 1st class from the moment we walked through the doors to the moment we finished, the food was awesome I cannot compliment the chef enough not it was very warm and full of flavours bursting as you can see from the pictures cannot fault anything from the experience it was one to remember unfortunately we didn't get a chance to have a desert as we had to dash but hay watch this place o ll keep you updated if you haven't been yet go on what you waiting for

As the title says. I think specials of the day are to be avoided from what I can read from the reviews. We decided to go for the sandwiches which we found tasty and up to scratch. Club Sandwich and panini. Would visit again for lunch as limited options in Blackburn. Bearing in the mind the prices!!!

First time going there and never again, wasn't recommended what we should get apart from the special of the day which we ordered as they said it was the dish of the house not letting us know of the price and how big the portion would be, got a T bone steak with carrots beans and mash and sauce the T bone was served with three baby carrots! A few beans a small amount of mash and sauce and they charged us 17.95 for it! A small place like that which charges much more than a restaurant in manchester is ridiculous even then they charge 13 to 15 for a T bone steak with a hell of a lot more sides. Overall Horrible costumer service, wait was so long and the food was bad and way too overpriced.

Amazing food. So fresh and the customer service is top notch. Yes the service is a bit slow but like I always say, better to wait and get good food than get fast food without taste.

The restaurant has no parking which is a major issue. We arrived early and ordered the special chicken nimbali, club sandwich and hot chocolate. The nimbali was nice but very expensive at £11. It was defiantly over priced and a little too cheesy. The sandwich was nice but the luxury hot chocolate was watery and had to be remade. Probably won't be returning again

I had finally heard the fig and the olive has re-opened. So i took my wife for a nice meal and all i can say the only thing good about this plce was the deco. On arrival, we were greeted by a waiter who took us to our table and informed us of the special which was lamb chops, chicken curry and chat purri. We decided to order this and the food was below average and is so overly priced for what it is. The food is so over priced that a family at the cafe in fact highlighted this to the staff and also i over heard someone else saying the exact same thing.I have eaten at posh reataurants and do not mind paying for quality food but this was far from it and is merely a cafe. I will definately not return to this over priced cafe again. I just cannot believe how they are charging so much for the food when the quality is so poor, in fact me and my wife have both been feeling sick since then.

We finally took the plunge after this place re-opened, considering we missed out during their previous episode of trading.It was a wet weekend, we fancied a bite out, on impulse, we chose this venue after driving past it..parking was a bit of a bug bear as no convenient parking near the vicinity but no real big deal, a short walk in the rain is never going to kill us. Ok so here goes, it felt really strange on arrival that there was no one to greet us and we just felt like lost chickens... after looking around for somebody, to no avail, we just helped ourselves to a table and sat and waited uncomfortably. On first impressions, the place looks clean but lacks the warm atmosphere one usually expects from an eatery,It took a while before someone rushed to out table, poor lad was busy to his eyeballs. After 10 mins of being seated, patiently, we were handed menus and advised about their special offers of the day, again with apologies at every juncture, other customers also complaining about the wait times.Without going into the details of what we ordered, to summarize briefly, the portions of everything we ordered was shocking, having paid over the odds (very expensive menu), the portions were somewhat 'child size' , all presented well to look elegant served in posh plates, yes you are simply paying for the appearance of your food here. We even saw the waiter serve someone ice cream in a mini dip tray, would be fair to say it was half a scoop.Most of our food was served by someone in 'scrubby shorts' , yes you heard right! Unbelievable. Overall, it was a poor show.. Would I visit again? MAYBE - I am one to always give someone a second chance, but only if things change, management please take note of what your customers tell you here, its a common story over and over again,In a nutshell, increase your portion sizes, employ a floor manager who is ALWAYS on the floor ready to greet and meet. Re-evaluate your pricing, make the people who serve food look presentable, the reviews will improve and your business will flourish.

When we heard news of the reopening we promptly arrange a visit as we had heard positive reviews from friends. The restaurant is quite informal in the decoration and seating. We ordered the specials of the day which were chicken nimbala and Shepards pie. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. However the portions were very small and considering the meal cost around £10-7 each I feel it's not really value for money. The side dish with the Shepards pie was one slice of garlic bread not dissimilar to something from the supermarket.Popped into AJK for a hearty fish and chips, delicious!

The best shepherds pie on the day they re open, the special of the day idea is great. Look forward to being back. Well worth it

Food looked well presented and delicious. Good service. May seem slightly on the expensive side but lovely food. It's okay to treat yourself once in a while I suppose

Never disappointing. The presentation of the food to quality of the ingredients is worth the pretty penny paid. Parking is an 'issue' so does require some walking albeit 20yards so not cumbersome. Get their early for popular menu times as can sell out. Always book if possible otherwise waiting times can be long. The specials are always a treat and change on a daily basis so along with the stock menu plenty to choose from and much in the way if variety.

Average food , its a shame the establishment could not stay has a pub. something not quite right, the atmosphere was a little bit strange probally because I knew it has a popular local pub establishment.

nice small place with good service and good food.love the idea of having specials (different special dishes on different days), liked it so much that we have been there a few times and the chicken sizzler, the lasagne and steak bagel specials were all delish, would lokve to try the Lancashire hotpot special (hopefully next time).got to say the Moroccan Mint Tea is refreshing after a meal and the desserts with the ice-cream (forgotten what its called but its a little like doughnuts).been there a few times and im sure ill be going there again in the future :-)

There are many reviews of this site, which talk about good presentation in terms of looks, but poor service, small portions and high prices .... We'll they are absolutely right! The cover of nice decor and simple and clean look covers some major problems.Firstly, the toilets, they have a towel to wipe your hands, the same towel used by hundreds of guests? I used toilet tissue to dry my hands instead!Secondly, ordering takes place at the till, where staff try their best not to give eye contact so as not to provide any service, just a courteous, hello I will be with you shortly would do. On this related point, the waiters have poor manners, miserable looking and not a word from them, they look tired and worn out - I don't know the hours they do but that seems to go when they see young girls, then it's all about the flirting and smiling and explaining in great detail what each dish tastes like, forgetting about the queue of 15 people behind them, with one gentleman only wishing to add a portion of chips to his order, waiting 20 minutes for the flirting to end. I just wanted to add a desert, which took another 25 minutes to come, in the meantime the table of girls next to us getting first class treatment, with regular trips from the leechy waiter to attend to their needs. Disgusting! When then custard and cake did arrive, the custard was cold and the cake was dry!Nit many places I have been to that I left feeling hungry! What I don't understand still, for a cafe, where is the coffee machine? If you really need to go to this place, just order the sandwiches, they are perhaps more reasonably priced in small portions. I did not get the feeling the fig and olive is for real food lovers.Dissappointed, hungry and looks are so deceiving!

I have been a regular customer at fig and olive since it opened and have always been impressed with the range of specials and quality of the food.I felt compelled to write a review for the first time after visiting with my family (10 of us). My father, who is notoriously known as the fussiest eater ever, was super impressed with the food as well as the service. The staff went out of their way to accomodate us and even made fresh curried chicken when they had sold out. The curried chicken with rice and naan had a very homely taste and went down a treat with everyone. I have tried many of the specials including the biryani, quiche, gourmet burgers, malayan chicken, soup and have always been pleased with the quality, taste and presentation. I have recommended fig and olive to all my friends and family. Keep up the good work guys!
