A truly wonderful overnight stay at this historic Inn! The family-run hotel and restaurant/pub are delightful! The room was quiet and comfortable, the pub welcoming with a locals flavor to it. We enjoyed the outdoor picnic tables with our afternoon pint and then went in for an excellent dinner. The Dover Sole was caught by the local fisherman that day and was superb as was the Seafood chowder chock full of seafood. Sean was very attentive to anything we needed for our stay and our meal. We loved it! Room #7 had a little Juliette balcony and we enjoyed having the upper windows open for a light fresh breeze at night. Having a separate large car park was a plus for us and the seafront views enjoyable! Thank you!

We have been to this pub many times and always had good food and excellent service but on our last visit the food was once again excellent but they now allow dogs in the small restaurant area. When going for a special occasion and paying out good money you should have the choice of an area where dogs aren't allowed and you need to be told what the situation is when you book. We have numerous animals on the farm but dont agree with them being in the restaurant.

Great venue for lunch with lovely views across the water. Unassuming from outside, and a drive down a narrow lane, but don’t let that put you off. We found it by accident and were very pleasantly surprised by the smart interior, great food and friendly staff. Nice loos too!

We had a great lunch. We managing to sit outside even though the weather looked a bit dodgy. I'm sure that the staff thought that we were mad, but humoured us anyway! This is one of our favourite places to eat when we visit Pembrokeshire. The food and service is always consistently good and competitively priced. Many thanks.

Stayed here for 1 night, in preparation for catching the Rosslare ferry the following day. It's a REALLY quiet and secluded location, with great views over the harbour. Lovely seating area outside, right over the little beach. Ample parking just across the road. Staff were great and really helpful. Couple of down-sides - the room we stayed in was a little dated, and could have benefitted from a decent cleaning, but the beds were fine and comfortable. Dinner was OK, but I'm not sure it was freshly cooked - it felt like it was pre-prepared. However, breakfast was great, with loads of options.

We spent two nights here. We had pre-booked a table on night 1 and at another place for night 2. After our first meal we cancelled the other venue to eat here again. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The menu is varied and the food very well prepared and presented. The portions are very large. The dining room is well set out and has lovely views over the estuary. I have just done a review for the accommodation, and the restaurant compliments it very well.

A warm welcome for the four of us from a friendly staff member, was followed by excellent food and service. Our orders for both food and drink were taken without the need of pen and paper( something of a rarity), and in due course we were served delicious food. I had plaice fillet which was topped with a locally produced seaweed and sesame salad, and served with colourful veg and potatoes. One of the best meals out I have had. The main menu had something for all tastes, and a specials board too.

Had a lovely evening meal here overlooking the estuary. Food was well cooked and presented with generous helpings. Wine selection was ok and good selection of beers if you don’t mind keg rather than hand pulled draught. Staff very attentive and friendly. Although we visited in April would think in the summer months sitting outside watching the estuary traffic would be perfect.

We were staying at a holiday cottage three doors up the road so the location couldn’t have been more convenient in our seven night stay. The location couldn’t have been better either, sitting on the river, and we were treated to a table by the window on both nights we dined here. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the food, the service with smiles and- of course- the views. Some of the dishes seemed a little on the pricey side, but our burgers and the gammon steak were reasonably priced and good value. Can definitely recommend.

Next to a small pebble beach on the opposite side of the Cleddau haven from Pembroke Dock. Great views from their long patio where you can sit peacefully with a sundowner. Now that tolls on the Cleddau bridge have gone, this is an excellent central base to explore all of Pembrokeshire. A family run hotel with very helpful staff together with a good welsh breakfast. We always try to have lunch here when we visit our property in Pembrokeshire. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble - especially this time as I hadn't booked and wanted to sit outside before the pub opened at twelve. The new terrace is fantastic and, along with the refurbished interior, makes for a very classy look to the pub. There is a good range of food on the menu and food is tasty and well presented. I hadn't had a meal in a basket for thirty years and it was really retro and excellent value for money. It's well worth seeking this gem out if you are visiting the area as the view up the estuary from the terrace is fantastic. Can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you.

i reluctant to write to say how good this place is as I want to return without finding booked up.The location was amazing and the view from room 3 was beautiful. The hosts and their team were extremely welcoming and the atmosphere was very relaxed. If you are looking for a great base for a few days this is it. The decor in the room was modern and bright and of high quality, the towels were new and fluffy, the bed linen Egyptian cotton. Expensive Toiletries, Welsh cakes and biscuits added those special touches that you would expect from a hotel with a much higher tariff. The food at both breakfast and dinner was made from fresh ingredients and well cooked. In short cannot recommend highly enough.

Booked for a weekend 3 night stay here at 2 week notice for a trip around Wales. Room price was good value as included breakfast, room was clean spacious and had lots of facilities (blankets, kettle, coffee, biscuits, hairdryer etc) - having stayed in Premier Inn's on this trip a lot of this had to be requested elsewhere. Staff were really friendly and we dined at the restaurant on Saturday evening. Food was delicious and good value, with great service. Breakfast was cooked, salmon and cereals so good choice available all cooked very well. Finally the location, what a lovely place - the road down can be a bit daunting but the view is fantastic especially from room 3. We would spend most of the morning and evenings watching the estuary and with a small jetty and coastral path nearby there are beautiful walks. All in all we can't wait to come back to this area and would definitely visit here again. What a great stay and definitely one of the best hotels we've stayed at

I dont understand why we had left it so long to visit this fantastic pub and enjoy what we can only describe as the best pub meal we have had in pembrokeshire in the 10 years we have been back down here . From the moment we entered the bar restaurant we were greeted by such lovely professional staff with nothing but a helpful and happy attitude towards the customers. We ordered the mixed grill and wow was we blown away by the perfection of the meal with every mouthful so tasty. Everything was cooked with great flavours . The staff who work in the kitchen of these premises really do deserve the utmost praise for a meal that is second to none. If they do not have awards for their food it will not be long before they will . We had to sit waiting for the stomach to settle and make room for a lush cheesecake and all at a very reasonable price. It may have been our first visit but it certainly wont be the Last. A real treasure in pembrokeshire so thank you for a wonderful experience.

This is not our first meal in this pub but on more than one occasion have had to draw landlords attention to the quality of food served. On balance we have had good meals on some occasions.Last week a very poor dining experience - our starters were mediocre, and my partners main course was so small I enquired if it was a full portion. I was assured it was, but it was tiny. My salmon steak was under cooked and raw in the centre . I returned it having sectioned it to check if it was the same right through. The waitress apologised and politely said she would bring another piece. After a considerable wait ( my partner had now finished his meal) the same piece was returned to me, over cooked and reshaped. The waitress explained chef would not cook another piece. The atmosphere was generally 'chilly' although the bar staff worked hard at being apologetic and helpful. The proprietor was not available to discuss any problem with and the chef was obviously too busy. We left without desert and paid the full price for our disappointing dining experience. We are local but will resist dining here again....just not consistent enough to warrant a regular spend.

I visit this pub every year when visiting the area with my family. My dad who is 84, can remember it of old as he was born around 100 metres from the door and grew up in the area. The pub has changed with the times and has been renovated to a high standard. The food is really good, especially the Sunday roasts. We have been bringing my little grandson for the last few years and he is made to feel very welcome though if he starts getting a bit stroppy I take him to play in the garden rather than have him annoy the other diners! The Sunday roast is lovely with a choice of Chicken, Beef, Lamb or Pork, seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes and lovely gravy, desserts are lovely as well. Simple home made fare, well executed.I think some of the negative reviews here are from people who expect Michelin starred quality in what is after all, a quiet neighbourhood pub that has never failed to please me or my family. We will be down again in October and will visit for our Sunday lunch.

A few friends of ours wanted a meal out so the 4 of us decided to hit The Ferry House, a local place which none of us had ever visited before. Its a lovely area & the view is excellent, the place itself was very clean & tidy as well as spacious. I liked the environment which was friendly & attractive. The menu was decent & well priced & we all selected different meals, traditional restaurant fare such as scampi & chips, mixed grill etc. It was all very nice. The starters & desserts were also tasty, & overall there were good portion sizes without being stupidly large. So, a pleasant local meal at a lovely location. The only downside was one of the starters wasnt ready with the other 3 (or forgotten about) so I had to chase that up & obviously by the time I received it the others had finished, thats never ideal, and the last whinge was that the friendly staff attempted to clear the table whilst we were still eating.Sort the service out & we will definitely come back.

Good value, tasty food in a lovely location. There is a regular menu which is standard pub grub albeit very well done, homemade and tasty plus specials which are also very good. Great location, friendly, helpful staff and close to home - great walk along the water front.

Ive been going to this resturant for years with my family for special occasions..my family pre ordered meals days in advance for our family meal and i was completely disappointed with waiting for an hour to have starters then also 50 minutes for our main meal..... which i ordered ham.,.which was full of fat looked discusting...wouldnt have fed it to a dog ..i would have been embaressed taking that out to serve to customers...sent it back... staff came out and said there was no ham left...looks like i can see that from the dog ends they was trying to pass off as ham to me...to tell me to chose something else...family are half way through their lunches... i ate mine alone ... i complained to bar lady and she spoke to owner who could onky give me 2 pound discount.. even tho it took nearly two hours.... id never go there again... bar lady looked like she been sucking a bag of lemons.. i would never go here again....completely disappointed! Also if youhave excited children with you all you get it glares from the staff! Choose somewhere else !

Just returned from eating Sunday lunch at the ferry inn and have to say it was, very good and good value for money the only thing I feel the waiters should ask you if you would like more gravy as we feel a little cheeky asking the pub was very clean which is nice to see and the woman behind the bar greeted you with a smile which is always nice will be returning soon thankyou.

Our party of 5 visited on Friday evening on the 22nd of August, we were staying just down the road for a weeks holiday. We ordered steaks, beef pie and the pork belly. All were enjoyed; the medium rare rib eye was as good as any I've ever had. Really great to have chips made on the premises as opposed to the pre-made ones! Staff were polite and attentive. Worth a trip. Lovely views of the estuary.

Eight of us had a meal at the Ferry Inn on Tues evening, every meal was terrible, I had a Korma, which should be mild and creamy, instead it was watery and the curry powder hadn't been cooked out, the chips looked like boiled parsnips, never seen chips like it, service was slow, friends had to ask for the veg which was supposed to be included, friends burger was dry and burnt around the edges, no sauces, a real disaster defiantly won't be going again.

Staying in the area so we thought we would try a meal here. A quiet midweek evening so why not? Young lad on the bar was a revelation in the service industry he is in, nothing too much trouble, a smile, a chat and great service. However, the waitress was the complete opposite, my advice would be get out of this industry if everything is too much trouble. Just because you may never see us again do not treat locals or staying guests different to ad hoc diners.Food was ok nothing special, basic pub grub which didn't differentiate this establishment from many others sadly, hence the low review mark.

The Ferry inn is wonderfully located and the food was fine, the staff were good besides the rude manager/owner of the place. I had a table booked for 10 people and you would have thought he would be a little more cheerful for our custom under these fiscally challenging times. I would not want to come back after his level of rudeness and the other 9 with me concur with that assessment, 10 paying customers lost because of the manager who should be impeccable in character.

i am from this part of the world and now work/live around london and i always struggle to find somewhere really nice to stay on my flying visits home, and i always always call these guys first.Lovely cosy rooms, good beds, shinny clean, good shower, great little pub, great homely food, awesome breakfast, and a lovely view. In the summer when the pontoon is out the kids go crabing. There is a great little walk behind the pub and the location is great too as its in the middle between Pembroke, Milford and Haverforwest so a good place to get out and about. Local place, local people, local food all great!!!

The Sunday lunches are very nice, we were so impressed that we thought we'd go back there to try a steak.....oh dear what a let down that turned out to be, both steaks were over cooked the chips were undercooked and had egg shell in amongst them (neither of us even had eggs with our meals) it was really poor, the young man behind the bar was very apologetic and did knock money off our bill. The same evening another couple were clearly unhappy with their meals, they got up and left, leaving their meals on the table. I certainly wont be going back in a hurry.

I am a first time reviewer on this site, who went to the Ferry House Inn with high hopes; these were soon dashed. Despite the fabulous location and views, I have a few issues with the place.Firstly, I would echo the above comments about them "doing you a favour" by seating you in the restaurant. The surly attitude of the hostess is unnecessary.Secondly, the food was dreadful. My prawn cocktail came with a garnish consisting of the large, bitter outside leaf of a lettuce, replete with brown edges. Yum.My mixed grill was appalling. It was all hugely overcooked; you could have snapped the steak in half and the onion rings shattered when trying to cut into them. I had to take a break whilst trying to eat the chicken in order to re-hydrate.So, not sure what the positive reviews on this site are based on, but my experience was not good. That said, the girl who served us was pleasant enough (didn't offer a refund when I complained though) my friend had the salmon, which he enjoyed, and the setting is lovely. Maybe my chef just had a bad day.

We visited one lunch-time whilst on holiday in Milford Haven. We sat in the garden overlooking the estuary. We ordered simple pub food, home-cooked ham rolls with salad and home made chips and a pot of tea. Simply superb.

We ate here on a Friday night a week or so ago as a party of 4, myself and partner along with parents. We sat in the dining room along with a large group of around 20 people and a few other tables of 2-4. It was a lovely evening and the view out of the dining room windows were fantastic. We all ate two courses which included steak, scampi, chicken curry and chicken breast in leek and bacon sauce. All of us were impressed with the standard of food. Service was friendly, helpful and quick. Although it was busy, it didnt feel crowded or noisy and we weren't forgotten about. We had a lovely evening.

Given it's stunning location on the Cleddau waterfront, it was nice to sit out in the restaurants garden and enjoy a couple of drinks before dinner. Nestled by the window, the views overlooking the Irish Ferry Terminal and Pembroke Dock are stunning. Our party were all suitably impressed by their offerings, the Mixed Grill was substantial and all of the meats were cooked to perfection. There was no concern about needing a toothpick to free dry morsels of meat from our teeth at the end of the meal. The selection from the specials menu was also well received with our guest commenting how succulent the chicken was and how well the sauce and meat went together. Having eaten here on several occasions, I have yet to be disappointed by the food provided. The location is excellent and the staff have always been courteous and helpful. Thank You for another lovely meal!

Amazing waterside views lovely to see the Irish ferry coming in. What we had to eat was nice but the décor could do with a bit of a update. It could be a lovely place to visit but when we were there it was almost empty on a very sunny Saturday lunchtime.

There is no doubt that the setting is fab and the quality of the food is good. However, you'll get the impression that they are doing you a favour if you eat there. Even though we were a group of five looking to dine on a pretty quiet evening, we were made to feel that they were putting themselves out to accommodate us. The surroundings lack imagination as they obviously feel that the views are enough to keep us happy. The prices also reflect this complacency, the chap on the next table asked whether they seriously expected him to pay £20 for a minute piece of steak. I suspect they'll need the help of Gordon Ramsay before long!

Popped in here for a quick bite for lunch on a freezing bank holiday monday. We just wanted a snack so chose from the 'Daily Specials'. Hot tasty soup and a lovely souffle, couple of glasses of wine and a good outlook over Milford Haven. There were a few people in but it wasn't that busy. Perhaps we misled the landlord when we asked about getting some lunch, but when we just ordered a simple bite rather than the full three courses available the service was very chilly (just like the weather outside).

The wild cafe is lovely for kids with the music and scenery around etc and tv cwtch to keep them entertained, menu short for Lunch usual basic stuff- nice food tho and huge portions! Jacket potatoes always taste old tho as If they’ve been standing or reheated.. morning staff weren’t keen on offering a breakfast said if was closed but online it said until 10.30 maybe it hadn’t been updated online but the boys behind the bar just seemed like they couldn’t be asked so we left it, a nice woman tried to offer us a alternative but it had already put me off at the fact they couldn’t be asked

I was excited to try the kiosk after visiting the area on holiday. Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. The server was neither welcoming nor friendly. The sandwiches I ordered were due to come with coleslaw and a side salad. But when I opened the box neither were inside. I’m not very assertive so it took a lot for me to go back in and explain to the server. He said he’d run out of coleslaw but could do a side salad. No apology or hadn’t mentioned this when I placed my order. I wouldn’t have bothered paying over £16 for just two sandwiches. Sadly I didn’t have the confidence to ask for my money back as my anxiety got the better of me, so walked away. The sandwiches were tasty and the bread fresh, but we won’t be going back I’m afraid. Really disappointed. Everywhere else we’ve been had been so friendly with good customer service.
