Great place for cheap food & drinks

Yes it's a spoons. Love them or hate them, we love them. Food is great, service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is always buzzing 🙌

It's pretty standard for a wetherspoon in terms of food. But there were lots of dirty plates and glasses all over the tables.

Had unexpected Christmas Day guests so went to Ferry Boat for Boxing Day breakfast. There were 20 of us in total. They allowed us to rearrange the tables so we could all sit together. The staff were very courteous and professional when taking the orders as they were placed as and when the guest decided what to eat. In total the entire cost including sift drinks and the bottomless tea and coffee (which is excellent) was less than £150, which is amazing. The food arrived promptly and hot with variations of food from large cooked breakfast, vegetarian breakfast, eggs benedict etc. All of which was lovely. Our guests were fascinated by the local history and pictures framed around the walls. Thank you Wetherspoons. The Ferry Boat is highly recommended by me.

Served a glass of red wine (on draft) which was awful. Wasn't offered a replacement, staff member was rude and tried to suggest that's how wine should taste. Tried to buy another drink, vodka and slimline tonic, no slimline, won't be going back anytime soon.

Great prices for drinks and food. No frills food that's OK but not the best, you get what you pay for. Serves a purpose and you won't go hungry.

Mixture of people and Family go here mostly for a good meal since they offer good deals on food. Good for drinks or a quiet cuppa coffee(free refils also) Staff really nice friendly, know security doormen on weekend and as stated not the venue's fault but Runcorn has a mix of great and not so great people after a few drinking sessions buts that the UK for you, But never had any trouble here, Sometimes quiet, Sometimes very busy place, Sitting down at table, using the app to order for table services much better to recline with people and focus on company you may be with Daytime trading lots of mixed people popping in for breakfast or finished trade or shift workers sinking a quick pint (or two) before home (or work) No live music but have tv on sky sports news or channels I really coming in spare time to steal the free WiFi connection when working

Staff were very nice although no atmosphere as the noise was kept to a minimum

We once got a blood covered pint from a waiter that was bleeding quite severely. He blamed the kitchen staff. 10/10 experience. Dont know why the pint was in the kitchen

Food ok Place is an absolute dump , table's left,not cleaned up, everyone in there has some disability,never seen do many people on walking sticks & mobility aids Used by many to write out bets and take them to the bookie's, next door,very poor

Saturday 26th October ..Came for a breakfast as a treat NO butter for toast . Team member went to get some from a local shop. Asked for some ,to be told we haven't got any ! Not good if you want to keep customers coming back .

Gents toilet are not very clean.

Everything you need and great prices! Always busy yet still always fast , friendly and efficient service regardless of day or time!

Both sets of toilets smell there the worst wetherspoon toilets weve been in The decor needs so up dating The staff are lovely 😁 but tables left for so long b4 cleared Deffo the worst wetherspoons we've been in and the vaping is getting out of control Shame

Food isn't the best but is good for the price. Venue is always clean. I don't encounter any issues here. Good value accross the board as expected from Wetherspoon. The 'gourmet burgers' are average and no better than the standard burgers. This is at any Wetherspoon I have ever been, not jist here. So save your money and have a regular burger. Last breakfast I had here was very nice! The Lavazza Coffee seems alot better these days, more flavour than it used to have.

Not as busy as it used to be looking a little tired and needs freshening up still plenty of choices of beer and reasonably priced

Breakfast with family , 1st time I have been since Jan 2020. Good meal with good company. May 2024 nice curry lunch with 3 lovely friends , will return. Meal with 2 lovely friends at lunch time , good food , great prices. Will be back.

This is more a review of the possible clientele that eat here. Picked the only free booth and the table looked like a load of monkeys had been eating... Butter packets opened and turned butter side down, plates and cutlery scattered and liquids and food all smeared over the table. People need to have respect for the next customer and the staff. Have some self respect people.... Aside from that the staff were very friendly and the food usual fair to good wetherspoon quality.

Usually very busy no matter what time of day we go, nice atmosphere, a little noisy. Food usually very good and service is nice most of the time

Chips were that of a been under the heat lamp way way too long, same with beans and the fried egg was solid,,,,,,,this was 3rd time I gave this place benefit of the doubt,,,,,,and the last ,,,,,,,,and it’s bleeding freezing in here,,,,,so so gone downhill

I recently visited this witherspoon and was not satisfied by the service. I walked in and seated myself in one of the only available booth seats. This table had food on the floor the table and there was multiple dishes on the table. Whilst ordering our food, we asked for a cleanup on our table, and nobody came. Our food arrived, and all the waiter did was put our food on the table and move the dirty plates and put our food down. We asked to clean our table she picked half of the plates up and went. I went 2 days layer and they missed 4 items off our orders I asked for them, and he only gave us 2. There was also no checkback

Food passable. Very noisy being a Saturday afternoon. Not the right environment for children. Far too much swearing and noise.

Had breakfast with family on 25/7/2024 it was beautifully cooked and tasted lovely. I would definitely be back for more.

This is a nice little place for family and friends to meet and enjoy delicious food. We’ve never had a problem with the food here for the price you get your money worth, great place would recommend to anyone.

Nipped in for a quick lunch, all day brunch with a coke for less than a fiver! Delicious. Staff were polite and helpfull. As good as it gets!

No problems to try before you buy. I sampled two real ales and settled for a guest one for the usual great value for money around £2.60. Small beer garden and Euros football on the TV.

This is a weatherspoons franchise which is well run, plenty of room with a small beer garden to the rear. Which is opened up into the car park during the summer.

An excellent Spoons. A great shame they turn the car park from a beer garden back into a car park. There's so much free parking in Runcorn it is a mystery why they did this. Otherwise five stars.

Went to this weatherspoons one Friday evening,on arrival it was about half full went straight to the bar for drinks and had to wait at least 10 minutes to get served so next time we decided to use the app table service and that was worse at least 15 minutes wait.

I enjoyed my visit, typical great service. The only negative thing (and no reflection on Wetherspoons) when I was in the toilets, three people didn't wash there hands after doing their business. Four years down the line, and society has forgotten hygiene.

Had some good meals there.and the drinks are cheap.

Just had a breakfast, not worth it, no sugar so waste of time having tea, and there's no coffee, when ordering they dont tell you no sugar and when you go up to get to fill your cup there's only tea bags. Don't recommend.

First thing I noticed was the service was impeccable, the girls at the bar were just super friendly and very helpful, the guy who served our food was as well. I love the ambiance, it was very family friendly and even the people who had a few to drink were nice. Their prices are as always very competetive, loved it. But when it came to the food, it was just disappointing. The fish and chips were okay but the burger that I ordered was just dry and really plain. And the worst part is the ramen that my wife ordered, it was not a ramen at all. It was not japanese inspired but rather indian soup. The ingredients were just wrong. I spat it out when I tried to try some.

Its the 3rd time my family have been in here. Same man starng at my 6yr old daughter and seems to bring in his own food. Awful

Very disappointed with the food ordered fish and chip only to find there was no fish just batter ...thay did rectified it and replaced it but was left eating on my own as my friends had already finished by the time I got a replacement

It's the spoons in runcorn, I wish the service was a tad quicker, but it's the spoons and that's no bad thing

Always a bonus visiting a Spoons where not only the toilets are on the ground floor but also has a quality range of beers. A great team of staff on duty here today including Jake (Young) who is passionate about the cask ales on sale which quite rightly has earned this pub an entry in the 2024 Good Beer Guide. The Unity Pale Ale was a pleasure to drink 👍🏻

The Usual Wetherspoons experience

Yeah, it was Ok. You never going to get haute cuisine in a Wetherspoons pub, but if you're after cheap and cheery, then this hits the spot. The staff do their best in a busy pub while the orders come in thick and fast. Occasionally you might get stuck on the tacky tables, but if you can see past that, then, yes, the food is good enough.

Used to be a nice place to meet friends and enjoy a pint, long waits at the bar for a drink, understaffed, the staff work very hard but not enough of them unfortunately, atmosphere of a crematorium

Me and my husband called on Tuesday ordered a large mixed grill and a classic steak both with jacket potatoes,both meals were very tasty ,well cooked and presented,hot plates as well,big improvement on our last visit *****

For a Friday night, you’d think the kitchen would know better than to refry already cooked battered fish ! Horrendously chewy, staff asked about the food, as per, complained, gave reason why, they were preaching the usual Wetherspoons rubbish about ‘all our food is freshly prepared’ etc ! Said taste it then ! They refused obviously, but still insisted i was wrong. Even after i told them i used to run a chippy, so i know about these things. Blank looks, and walked off ! Oh well

As with all JD Wetherspoon....busy 🙂 Great service from Jack, good value for money on food and drinks. Always an interesting variety of ales. Never disappointed

Now I had actually given this establishment a 4 star 🌟 only last month, but I have been coming here a lot more recently for a meal @ a pint, and have enjoyed the food very much, so after careful consideration I am now changing my review to a 5 star 🌟. Now the only thing left I have to say is thank-you to all the staff here for all your excellent service, and I'll see you very soon.

What can I say, Sunday 7th Jan, man and women arguing, his outburst was provoked by her going on and on and on, he was removed but she was left to enjoy her drink. It was her disturbing everyone's Sunday evening, not him till he left and had his say!!!!!

Reluctantly went in for a pint, for a friend's birthday. Stood at the obviously overwhelmed bar waiting to get served for a good 10+ minutes. Kids all over the place on a Saturday night, as in actual toddlers and babies, loose, about the place.

I visited Witherspoon's ferryboat for dinner at 6 pm on a Monday, hoping to grab a quick bite before a show at the Brindley. The service was slow, even though the place wasn't packed. We ordered through the app, but our food took 20 minutes to come out, and we had to wait even longer for our drinks. They didn't have enough ketchup and mayo on the tables, so we had to borrow some from other folks. The food was alright - about what you'd expect from fast food, but it wasn't served up fast. Plus, my chair was on the fritz - it wobbled all over the place. If you're in a hurry or looking for something special, this might not be the spot.
