Bought 2 steak pies for me and my wife. Got home and wide found a long hair mingled in pastry before putting it in her mouth. Made her feel nauseous at the thought she could have injected it. Gave it the dog

Waterfields are a smallish chain based in Leigh, lancs and they have two branches in Widnes, one in the town centre and the other in the village of Farnworth (this one). Far better than any Greggs for frsshly prepared sandwiches, pies, pasties and the fresh bread is superb. Pastries and cakes to die for, just try the Eccles cakes!

Nice pies and cake, premium. Not cheap pastry, so your not going to get bad indigestion. A little pricey, you get what you pay for.

Two days in a row we have been in for lunch and all the staff just look miserable and they're unhelpful. They're there to serve customers BUT act like it's a massive inconvenience

Haven't used these for a couple of years. Good friendly service but, sadly, the quality was very poor and not at all like it used to be. Three different meals and all were very disappointing.

Ordered a banquet for 1. Chicken sweetcorn soup watery with a few pieces of chicken and a few bits of sweetcorn. Ribs not much on them Spring rolls nice Special curry watery no flavour whatsoever with chips that were full of eyes and soggy. Waste of £15. Only used Paul’s as the best chippy Terrys wasn’t open today.

Seemed nice and clean and welcoming inside. We had one cheese ploughman's roll and one turkey and stuffing roll. To drink, two cappuccinos and then a small chocolate shortbread. It came to £22. I was so shocked at the price that I queried it, which I wouldn't usually do. Turns out that the rolls cost around £7.50 each, even though the displayed price on them was around £4.65. I was told this was the eat in price. Shame that was not clearly displayed anywhere. I was actually told that it should have cost £24 but we had been given a discount on the shortbread. Nothing was provided with the prepackaged rolls, like a salad garnish. So, extremely expensive for a roll and coffee. The food was nice enough but I felt overcharged and annoyed that the "eat in" price was not clearly shown. Will make sure we don't visit any of their shops again. We eat out a lot and I have rarely felt so ripped off.
