After visiting Wymondham Abbey we decided to call in at The Feathers public house, the landlady was very attentive. We ordered food which was very good and a ample amount and a good price.

A lovely warm welcome which we much appreciated as it seems to be a rarity at pubs and restaurants these days. Landlady made us feel welcome and made time to chat with us. A pint of cider and larger priced at under £10.00 is great value these days. Two Lamb shank meals for £30.00 is phenomenal value when you consider a burger meal is generally around the same price. And dog friendly to. We will certainly be returning in 2024. Many thanks for your hospitality. Terry & Sharon

Never had a bad visit to The Feathers, always seems busy, friendly staff, nice drinks and an 80's soundtrack in the background that could've come straight off my iTunes library, what's not to like!

Well, much money has been invested here from the last visit just over a year ago…… Since Harry has moved on much has been improved……however……. Having just bare witness to a manager asking a member of staff to ‘concentrate more!’ In front of customers was embarrassing to customers and very unprofessional towards the staff member. Surely, if there was a problem, it would have been better to simply have a quiet word, out of the customers way, to inform and help that member of staff??? We all make mistakes, it wasn’t busy in the hotel, but I feel the manager needs to take a long hard look at his approach to staff training and assessment issues….. I don’t need to be a witness to these issues when going out for a lunch appointment or any other time for that matter……. Treat your staff better, and they will work happier and less on guard all the time and maybe just maybe they will then work as a team….. Shame……

Lovely traditional and welcoming pub with friendly and helpful staff. Great range of real ales and pub grub at very reasonable prices. The bar area has plenty of open seating and there are also several separate sitting areas beyond the main bar. A rarity these days, the Feathers has retained it's dart board. For the cold winter days the pub has a log burner in the main bar. At the rear is a large covered sitting area with car park beyond.

This is a well looked after place, warm and good beer quality though there is a mildly annoying fly issue ( which I suppose cannot be helped ). The issue is certainly not down to pub hygiene issues but rather the unavoidable sugar in the ales and other alcohols which act as a magnet to them and I would probably suggest an electric fly killer behind the bar or some other strategic place to tackle this effectively. Apart from this, a friendly cosy place recommended.

Having walked round Wymondham trying to find a pub that showed a menu outside (why they don't is a mystery to me, unless they are ashamed of their prices!) we stumbled across the Feathers, who had an excellent menu on show in the window, sensible prices and a wide range of food, and the dog was made welcome too. The service was very friendly, the food arrived quickly, and was plentiful and very tasty. We ate in the attractive courtyard garden, although they were quite happy for our Glady (Cockapoo) to come inside with us had we wanted to eat indoors. Two enjoyable main courses and two drinks for just under £20 - what's not to like! Well worth the five minute walk to the end of the town centre We will be bak!

Can eat and drink inside or outside, a lot of tables in the beer garden under cover. The Feathers caters for all, families, friends and couples. They have taken covid precautions without loosing the pub feel. It’s a great place to come and have a drink with friends. The food is home cooked comfort food, like burgers , pies, curries, fish and chips, sausage and mash, the food is good and the price is good. The staff are very friendly and the surroundings are very relaxing. The beers are always spot on - no flat, old beers here.

We popped in for a drink as a group of 7. The venue was busy, and we were eating to go to a restuarant nearby. The drinks were served quick, and the landlady guided my group to an empty table when it became available,

I came here for a meal with two friends on a Sunday lunch time. I had eaten here many times before but not for a couple of years so expected the same quality as before as it has not changed hands! I enjoyed my meal but it didnt seem home cooked as they said on menu. My friends had basic meals and they said it was fine (no roast option). I have to say though, the feathers pub is quite a catch for my town in wymondham by being busy, homely and having a great garden. The only downside is when I fancy a drink at the weekend around Three, the pub closes at 2.30 and dont reopen till 7 :) its a shame they dont take the opportunity to make their pub the hub in summer afternoons.

This is a real pub; real ale, real locals, real "pub" food and lovely staff. Homemade lasagne, liver and onions, toasted sandwiches, made the old fashioned way, oozing with real ham and cheese. To top it all, real prices! Get one of these above for between £3.75 and £7.00. Just to make the point, the atmosphere was of a proper pub. Long may they prosper and give us a bit of old England back.

Can not fault the food and service value for money wise! Good old fashioned pub grub! Liver and onions and homemade steak and ale pie were delicious. Will definitely be back! Nice friendly staff too!

I could write a grumpy review here about a mix up between steak and kidney pudding and steak and ale pie, but frankly the staff at the Feathers dead lt with the mix up so professionally it really wasn't a problem. I would rather drink proper beer and have a great meal in a pub that has a genuine atmosphere with real people than any plastic gastro establishment any day. I love The Feathers.

Lovely local pub with good beers. Food is average to mediocre but very reasonably priced so that might appeal to those who just want to get their carbs up!

Have to agree with the previous review. I ordered the steak and ale pie and it was soggy. Pub and people nice enough just need to sort out the food.

We attended the wedding reception as guests with no idea what The Feathers, or indeed Wymondham were like. Despite it being the hottest day of the year, with temperatures in the thirties, we had a great time. The function room is upstairs and holds probably about 50 people. Food was varied and they catered for the gluten-free and vegetarians without a problem, an important point considering we have several coeliac and gluten intolerant family members.

One of the best public houses in wymundham, always busy something crowded but always good beers and drinks. The food is basic but classic meals which are excellent and some of the best prices I've seen anywhere. Highly recommended

We tried this pub out for a light lunch the other week. We often had a nice baguette or melt at The Heart. As that doesn't do food anymore we were looking for a replacement.

I've only been to this pub a few times before whilst waiting for my curry to be cooked at The Shapla across the road. Always a quick visit but always a pleasant atmosphere and service, and always busy at the times I've been.

Friendly staff, excellent choice of well kept beers with ever changing guest beers. Traditional, no frills, no loud music, good value food. One criticism...could open earlier, especially in summer to take advantage of walled garden.

Lovely local village pub. Unchanged for many years but all the better for it. Friendly staff without being overly so. Food looked good too though we didn't get to eat on this occasion.

Had a meal recently at the Feathers. They seemed to have a new menu that caters for all. Even though it was mid week the wifes option was off the menu so the veg lasagne was ordered, I opted for a fish dish. the timescale was reasonable however half way through the meal I found the centre cold to the touch and returned it straight away. The Chef returned the meal without appology or even a fresh meal. Really though a heat probe was the norm in the Kitchen nowadays...

Stopping over in Diss for lunch on the way to the Suffolk coast, came across this cafe, looked inviting enough, with spaces inside. Coffee was very good - cappucchino and americano, and the New Yorker sandwich was wholesome tasty and very satisfying. Friendly service noted. Recommended!

I thought afternoon tea here would be something special to celebrate a birthday but unfortunately it wasn't. The table we were allocated was right next to the counter where people stood drinking, chatting and paying (I believe they might have been staff from the business centre). When I commented on this to a member of staff she said they would soon be gone, but then more came and stood there for some considerable time. The table was undecorated and the teapot and cups plain. One of the teaspoons was dirty and had to be replaced. There was nothing special about it whatsoever. It was just like being in a cafe which you go in for just a coffee. Not afternoon tea special at all. It was more expensive than many in the Norwich area so I thought the experience would be reflected in the price. But it clearly wasn't. The food was nice, nothing special, only 2 different filling in the sandwiches. The scones were good, the cakes ok, but again nothing special. The staff were busy but quite friendly. I would not recommend The Orangery for an afternoon tea experience. I came away feeling very let down and disappointed from what I thought was going to be an enjoyable afternoon.

I telephoned to check if dogs were welcome, and they were! We visited after a muddy trip to the woods. The staff were super accommodating and welcoming. The dog was provided with water and biscuits and we ordered the most delicious cakes, panini and hot chocolate. Unfortunately we did muddy up where we were sitting a bit but we were reassured this was absolutely not a problem. We will definitely be returning. Really lovely visit.

What a little gem this is, fantastic pastries, cakes etc Coffees and much more. I had a breakfast sourdough ciabatta with sausage and egg which I highly recommend. Staff very friendly and the there is a nice outside sitting area too. Reasonably priced for the quality food. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting the area. Added bonus the lovely rivers walks are a minute away so you can walk that lovely breakfast etc off. Oops nearly forgot dog friendly too. Thanks for a lovely breakfast see you again soon.
