The Feather Trail Cafe in Ryedale

The food was average & quite pricey but the temperature was very cold on Saturday morning in this cafe & I suffer from a circulation problem so not good

Brilliant coffee and friendly happy positive service 😀 perfect for service dogs also. Dancing goat coffee yummy and vegan cakes. Last treat out for 2024 and one to remember to see the year out. Will definitely be back next year.

Visited Helmsley and popped in based on TripAdvisor reviews. Lovely town & cafe, front of house service was very good. Cakes looked good…we had a soup and a bacon & sausage bap. The food was ok, TBH, felt it was a touch over priced for what it was. In the bacon & sausage bap I had a single sausage, cut in half, then half again…meat quality was good, perhaps a little light on filing…

Visited for breakfast and it did not disappoint, fantastic food and drink, very welcoming, friendly staff, will definitely return when next in the area

Outstanding !!!! A place not to be missed we had an amazing breakfast .. Pancakes , Full English and poached eggs on toast .. service was fantastic the waitress couldn’t have been better! Thank you so much we will be back !!

We visit Helmsley a few times a year, yet this was our first visit to this cafe and what a pleasant find it was. The lady serving was very friendly and polite and we were given a bottle of water to have whilst choosing our meal from the menu. I chose the breakfast and my wife a ham sandwich, both were excellent, but the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in many years. Coffee good too…….many thanks to the Feather Trail Cafe.

The cafe is really lovely and cosy and the staff so nice. We had intended having the proper breakfast which looked amazing but due to having a 3 course meal booked elsewhere early evening decided to just have a bacon sandwich which in itself was good and plenty of it but a big no no was it came on seeded bread. In my opinion bacon on seeded definitely is not on. My husband enjoyed both of them though. Please inform people that’s what it comes as I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking this. Otherwise lovely coffee and atmosphere

Such a lovely experience! Amazing breakfast with something for everyone - and the best scrambled eggs our group chef had ever had. Service was so friendly and accommodating. After being dissed in another local establishment later in the day we returned and had a superb lunch/cake stop too. The carrot cake was epic! We will definitely return when next in the area.

There are plenty of cafes in Helmsley but this one is exceptional for the friendly staff, the lovely cakes (especially the banana bread) and the tea (proper leaf tea).

Our first visit to the Feather Trail Cafe. Happened on the place by accident as we had not been here before. We received a very warm welcome when we entered & a bottle of water while we decided what to order. My bacon sandwich was delicious was delicious as was my husband's tomato & mozzarella sandwich with pesto. The bread was really soft & the food beautifully served. We highly recommend this little cafe!

Dropped in on Sunday morning, great food and excellent service with a genuine smile, offered complimentary drinks as waited for breakfast even though we didn’t feel we’d waited too long. Would recommend and would definitely return if in the area

We are a family who like different brekkies. The cafe catered for all of our tastes. Service was quick and with a smile. Couldn’t ask for more 10/10

Had a sausage, onion and black pudding sandwich and a pot of tea. All good quality ingredients served by a lovely lady. Bought a coffee and walnut bun to take away, also excellent. Would definitely go again next time i am in Helmsley.

A little gem of a cafe in the beautiful market town of Helmsley. We arrived soaked through, after a New Year walk, with a wet dog but all made very welcome inside this warm interior. Delicious hot chocolate and the cakes looked amazing and very tempting, but we resisted! Quite a few of the local cafes seem to close early in winter but Feather Trail was still open at 4pm, much to our relief!

Fantastic tastey breakfast , lovely gluten free bread for the toast , with my avocado and poached egg , so scrummy 😃 my husbands full English breakfast was enormous! And he says so tastey Would definitely go back for another visit . Cakes looked fab but we were too full to taste them 😃

We were visiting Helmsley for the day and looking for somewhere to have brunch and by luck came across Feather Trail Cafe. We both ordered the full breakfast and it really was a FULL breakfast. When the food arrived it was absolutely incredible. Everything on the plate was delicious and clearly there's a real focus on great quality, locally sourced ingredients. The full breakfast included toast and a little ball of butter (wrapped in a little square of greaseproof paper), roasted cherry tomatoes, 2 fried eggs, 2 slices of bacon, a thick triangle of black pudding, Cumberland sausage, mushrooms and baked beans. I've got a great appetite and I wasn't one but disappointed by the portion size but the best thing was the fantastic quality of everything.

Made a special request for afternoon tea (not previously part of this cafes catering). Not only did they agree, but provided an amazing array of freshly baked goodies. Cannot say how much we enjoyed this surprise birthday treat for my partner. First class food, service and venue. Even the coffee was better than average. Highly recommend this establishment and the lovely young couple doing all the hard work, only a year in .. well done and thank you 🙏

A friend and I have called in here for afternoon tea and cakes on a number of occasions this past year and we have never been disappointed with either the cakes or the service. It doesn't seem to matter if the cafe is busy or not, the service is always very quick and attentive. We will continue to visit during 2024 whenever we are passing through Helmsley.

I can't recommend this wee cafe highly enough, we popped in for lunch on a chilly day and got the warmest of welcomes. Prompt service with a smile and after ordering our drinks they quickly arrived piping hot and with an accompanying bottle of tap water which I thought was a lovely touch. My sister ordered the Chorizo sandwich, I ordered the soup and we didn't have to wait too long, we both tucked in and conversation ceased, the only time we spoke was to talk about how delicious our food was. We happened to be sitting opposite the sideboard displaying the home made cakes and were deciding whether or not to share a piece of the large, layered Lemon Cake, we were both pretty full but it was just too tempting. Much to our delight the waitress appeared with a complimentary portion and two forks so we could try it, she and my sister discussed baking techniques, I had a mouth full of cake and left them to it. Sadly we are only staying in the area for a short break but plan to visit the Feathers Trail Cafe again before we leave. Full marks for an original and interesting menu which provided excellent choice for meat eaters, Vegetarians and Vegans. Their customer service was second to none ensuring our visit was a real pleasure from start to finish.

Excellent friendly service ,super food very good value for money in a relaxed atmosphere, this was my second visit and will be back again.

Recently stayed in the area and this place was a BIG HIGHLIGHT of our trip! We went in on a very busy Friday and were immediately greeted by a lovely young lady, we were given menus and just moments later given a bottle of tap water and offered coffees. We both got Flat Whites which were made to perfection and promptly ordered food. I ordered Avocado on toast with bacon and halloumi and my partner ordered the highly recommended Scrambled Egg. It was THAT GOOD I didn’t even remember to take photos. The best avocado toast I’ve ever had and my partner was shocked with just how good the Scrambled was. The attention to detail and friendliness of the staff is fantastic to see. I would give this beautiful little cafe a 10/10 if I could! We will be back!!!

Took the humans back for breakfast. Obviously being a celebrity pooch I put on my winter coat so I wasn’t recognised. Hate fuss. All I can say is that you can tell when fresh locally sourced food is cooked with loving paws. It was superb.

Wandering around Helmsley late Sunday afternoon came across this café which was still open. First time here and had fantastic Lemon and Ginger Tea. The best I've had. Had lovely gluten free cake. Really friendly owners. Will definitely be back!
