I attended for the Huddersfield v Wrexham game and Wrexham v Lincoln game. I have attended this restaurant many times and food always good On these occasions in October I ordered the house burger unfortunately the burgers were not cooked enough quite raw,I left without complaining . I returned in November, thinking previous was a one off, I ordered the same meal The meal came in less than a minute this time the bacon was uncooked. , I did not complain and again left

The food was absolutely amazing and was really quick to be served. Sally was our waitress and she is so lovely. Brilliant service. Will definitely be going again soon.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, the fat boar also has great outside seating that includes sheltered spaces. The food is fantastic, not the best I have had though.

Popped in for a quick lunch and inspite of being busy they sat me down lovely friendly and helpful team, fantastic food and great value for money.

Whoever cooked our £25 Friday box on the 15th of November needs training, no establishment should serve what we received 2 steak burgers! we couldn’t even chew the edge of the meat it was that overcooked ,burnt and dry also the bacon on there overcooked, we couldn’t eat them everything else was ok apart from the flatbread for the chicken that had clearly been reheated in the microwave it was that tough you couldn’t bite through it.such a shame as we order quite regularly and have never received food that we have had to throw away, we have also had the “Friday” box before and it has always been good with quality ingredients. If you burn something throw it away and start again, why loose custom, will look for other options in future before ordering again.

We are regular visitors of the Fat boar in Mold and have never had a bad meal. We have visited the Wrexham Fat boar a few times and have had sides and drinks. We decided to order a takeaway from Wrexham Fat boar expecting good quality food like you would get if you dined in. However, this is not the experience we have just had. The order took over 2 hours to arrive (which is expected on a weekend but not a Monday). When the food eventually arrived, the chips were lukewarm as was my steak burger. My burger had been overcooked as it was grey in colour which is fine but when the outside of the meat is rock hard this definitely shouldn’t be served. My partner’s bang bang chicken was also lukewarm. The food had to be microwaved to make it hot. The only thing that was served warm was the loaded fries (still not hot). I am totally disappointed with the standard of the food and also how it was lukewarm, indicating to me that it was sat around getting cold. Not happy with this experience from the Wrexham restaurant. This experience has been a let down to the fat boar’s reputation for us and we regret not spending our money elsewhere.

My partner and I wen to this gem of a place Monday. We had the most amazing server Sally who was absolutely amazing and gave us a five star service. Lovely lovely lady. The food was wow beautifully presented, and highly recommended the steak and peppercorn sauce which was to die for. Also the wings and onion rings. Its nice to go somewhere where the chef knows how to cook a steak. Thankyou for such an amazing lunch.

Good food and great service. A perfect night out

We LOVED this place! The staff was wonderful and the food was fantastic! We went two nights in a row and can't say enough about what a wonderful experience it was! From the Fish & Chips, the Lamb, Salmon, Sea bass, the Duck, everything was delicious! We would highly recommend a visit!

I’ve been here a few times but forgot to review. Went again on Sunday and had lunch there - it was excellent. Plenty of tender roast turkey for me, three meats for DiL. Loads of veggies too, which is what I like! Very enjoyable meal, will come again on a Sunday!

On a busy evening you can wait a bit at the bar to be served. Great atmosphere, outdoors sitting with heaters which is nice especially now when evenings are colder We went just for drinks

me and a group of my friends went into the fat boar with great ideas as we had heard good things but then we were hit with extreme disappointment firstly we were kept waiting awhile for a menu to even come after sitting the menu was dissapointing as you expect a roast dinner to have mash potatoes this menu did not have it and i had asked if it was possible to have mash and i was told no the waitresses were very rushed although the resturant was not busy as a former hostpitality worker i was abit dissapointed with the service and now onto the food the food was cold, bland and somehow the yorkshire puddings were burnt on the outside and very uncooked on the inside unfortunately the meat was very thinly sliced the gamine was like eating a bacon slice, the roast beef was so thin also. The caluiflower cheese was very hard. We would love to see this resturant improve as it had a nice atmosphere and usually we are not a critical group of people we were just dissapointed to say the least. i also want to add in here (their was a strong smell of sewage as you walk through the door)

Table service for food but we had to go to bar to collect drinks and it took a while. May of been short staffed that evening.

We didn't eat, we just had drinks at the bar. We were told that there were no tables available, since we did not have a reservation, even though there was an empty 4 seater table from the time we arrived until we left, which was at least 2 hours later. It seems like a cool spot, and the roast lunches were moving out pretty fast, so they seem to very popular.

We ate here late on a Sunday afternoon, mainly to get out of the rain and we were hungry. Staff were pleasant and quick at taking orders etc. The building is tastefully decorated and there was a good mix of customers. The good bits! However... We ordered 2x roast dinners and a pint. Unfortunately, both dishes were bland and beige. Veg was soggy and tasteless and the bowl of cauliflower cheese looked and tasted like baby food. Disintegrated cauli in luke warm sauce. The thin, curled up slices of beef were of poor quality and also lacking in flavour. The red cabbage was nice but that's about it. I've been wanting to give the Fat Boar a go for a while but it was really disappointing. We may have been unlucky, maybe it was end of service (the veg at least looked like it had been cooking for some time.) Our plates were cleared but nobody asked how our meals were (maybe they knew the answer already) and we weren't offered sweets, although we would have declined based on the food so far. £31 for 2 mediocre meals isn't something we could recommend and sadly, won't be returning. (The mobile food van at Eagles Meadow afterwards looked and smelled much more inviting. A better option next time.)

We had the takeaway option of a special box along with sticky sausages and a kids meal. All I can say was this food was delicious. It was incredible value for money and we will be using again. The delivery was on time, which is always a bonus.

Not cheap but good value - great staff, comfortable seating in bar and seperate restaurant. Very welcoming.

2024 still love coming here and how it has changed...yet still a wonderful place to eat. 2019.. Saw the decking from the "bridge" and thought we'd give it a try. So glad we did, great beer, amazing food, really top quality and generous portions. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout. We had a lovely couple of hours outside in the sunshine and plan to return on Wednesday evening with friends. 2023 still returning and having the same excellent food and service along with a couple of pints of Wrexham.

I had hair in my food, and it was look like they have not redo my meal, only take off hair and give me back. No apologize like discount, offer or voucher only said sorry.

Went for a meal last night with friends table was booked for 6pm.Hardly anyone in there but it was to warm.No Sunday dinners left very poor they should ask when you book for a Sunday they should ask do you want Sunday meal😡Not much choice on the menu.Table was very sticky had to ask to have it cleaned & she only did half of the table.Service poor had to wait a while for drinks.

We went on a Sunday 6pm they had no Roast left so we ordered another meal pan fried seabass pie chips and 2 other meals can't remember what the table we were given was stick had to ask for it to be cleaned the chairs were very uncomfortable and hot inside one young girl poor service then the other young girl was very nice don't know if it was a bad day but we won't be going back sorry

Absolutely lovely pub, beautifully put together with a gorgeous little outside area, cracking roast dinner, with a great veggie roastie option too, friendly smart staff, we loved it.. Five stars!

£15 for 3 courses, we had scampi starter, fish and chips and lemon tart for pudding really good portion sizes too.

The food is tasty but the tables are super sticky. The waitress also just legt the bill on the table and left without cashing us.

Delivery arrived looking like someone had eaten half of it, no drinks which are stupid price. The food is most definitely overpriced. Tried to call not answering the phone as i can see on these reviews it’s a common thing for them. Disgraceful service

We absolutely LOVED the food at The Fat Boar, but the atmosphere was loud and crowded and the service was deplorable! Our server clocked out during our meal and never handed our table over to another server, so we were at the mercy of any server walking by. When we asked for the rest of our meal, the staff seemed put out. When we asked for our check, we noticed that we were overcharged. The check was fixed, but we won't be back until the service is better.

Stopped by for a drink, staff friendly and the beer was nice, real ale was spot on.

Great place absolutely fab food !!!

We only purchased drinks. Staff were very friendly to the point of letting customers vape when it clearly states on each table No vape/smoking. Loud and obnoxious customers! Disappointed as the pub has a nice beer garden to enjoy.

Sharing platter to start was incredible. Burgers was good as were the dirty fries. Lost a point for the onion rings being frozen and having 8 different lagers on tap at the expense of a few other options. All in all good food and great value for money. Could be very very good with a few tweaks!

Excellent sunday lunchtime experience here. Walked in with no booking at 1.30ish and was lucky enough to nab the last available table. From the outside we were expecting a pub atmosphere, but it actually has more of an up-market restaurant feel inside, even though it had a tv screen with sport on and indie rock music - a nice balance with the best of pub and restaurant. Service was generally fast and friendly. The duck bonbons starter was absolutely amazing! For main I got the chicken burger - very generous portion with two patties, the chicken tasted good quality and the fries were delicious, perhaps homemade. My husband got the lamb shank and he has pretty high standards when it comes to meat quality so we werent sure what to expect but he said it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to people.

Sunday roast, what a let down anaemic roast potatoes and watery gravy, it's gone down hill, was edible but that's about it

Went with a group of friends for a meal before the match and I was pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian option. Great for sitting indoors or out. Reservations might be a good call for busier days.

I came out with my family on Mother’s Day and we had a three course meal. We had our starters and they was bland and no taste of anything. Then we moved on to our mains which we all had a Sunday dinner. When the food arrived we started eating and we noticed Mouldy parsnips and carrots and a few other stuff. No one in my family was enjoying and no waiters came to check if the food was ok. We stop eating a put the knife’s and forks down and when waiting we told the waiter that we didn’t enjoy the mains and they responded with attitude saying everyone else is enjoying the food making us feel like we was the problem and then the dessert and after all that it was probably the worst for last. We told them we didn’t want to pay for the mains because we only eaten only a small amount but they refused to taken away the mains and made us . Will not be coming again worst Sunday dinner of my life.

Booked in for Tuesdays steak night. Was not disappointed, both steaks cooked as per request, one rare one medium rare. A great value meal in a really nice setting with lonely staff to greet and serve.

My wife and I went in on impulse and so glad we did. Food and drinks choice very impressive. 8oz ribeye steak on the lunchtime menu was delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would gladly go back.

My wife and I were very disappointed in the quality of food here. The Fat Boar was recommended by a friend and we got the burger and steak. Steak was tasteless and chewy and the Burger looked and tasted like a frozen pattie, very mushy and gross.

Saturday 10th February 2024 This pub is a good pub it served today 2 pale hand pumped ales from the BIG HAND BREWERY Peacfull easy going atmospheric pub that was well staffed

Disappointing! Ordered the house burger as never had it before, sounded good but that wasn't the case. The burger was dry when it was supposed to have a sauce on it, they brought out the sauce in a little pot as it was indeed supposed to be on the burger. The burger tasted like a very cheap frozen burger you would throw on a BBQ. Service was slow considering there was not many people there. We were not offered any water and one of our glasses had a huge crack in it! I ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir before we were given our mains... Mains came.. still no wine. Once the wine finally came we were already finished and was brought a pinot grigio... When we said we ordered noir the waitress then confirmed but the bottle was a white wine.. with it being such a long wait we didn't accept it. Really disappointing evening for all.

Ordered off the set lunch menu which is very good value. Fish and chips good as was the steak sandwich. However, there were very few veggie options and very uninspiring. Deserts were average. Service was OK although the staff hovered waiting to clear plates. The whole place lacked atmosphere. This was a Friday lunchtime!

We have had a takeaway on New year eve. We ordered the special box x 2 for 5 of us. There was plenty of food for us. It was amazing. It arrived on time too. I have only good prase for all the staff at the fat bore. You do a amazing job. Happy New Year to you all. X x x 😍

Visited Monday the 18th of December found the service very slow although the place was quite empty, failed to get the drinks right, the food was nice to be fair, one thing annoyed me is they charged me just under £11 service charge on the bill, the bill wasn’t given to me until I paid too late to remove the service charge and it should of been mentioned to me before payment for me to choose if I wanted to tip that much which I didn’t as I felt the service wasn’t great. Be warned ask about the service charge when paying as they all seem to be doing this now and don’t mention it.

Came here on a Sunday night party of 9 people for 5-30 nobody else eating , in the pub , waited nearly an hour for food it was all prebooked !! The turkey dinners were cold , sent 2 back , they redid the dinners , everyone then had finished eating,when the dinners returned , the deserts finally came , just 4 cheesecakes , and nobody else’s after nearly half an hour had to go and ask were the rest were !!! Asked for the bill , I had prebooked from menu on internet which says £20 for 2 courses , but the bill said £21 , they did charge me £20 a head in the end . Will not be going back there , nobody in the party enjoyed the food and service .

We went for the Christmas cocktail night, the food and drinks were lovely. Just a heads up for someone who is going for the first time, it was super loud, I thought it would be like a restaurant environment but there were loads of people just standing up by our table. I went with my partner and we couldn’t even hear each other. It’s not a problem but I’d like to know that before booking a meal out.

Had an 'all girls' lunch in the middle of the week so not as busy as I was expecting. We'd pre-booked our table for which we were asked for a £5 per head deposit, very reasonable, especially when you read of places where tables have been booked but then no-one shows up on the day. This is a very clean establishment with an excellent reputation and the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. We were shown to our table, on the upper floor, very quickly and given menus on which were a goodly number of dishes to suit most tastes. Our drinks order was taken and the said drinks appeared quickly, ditto the food which was well cooked, plentiful and hot, also very delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable. There is no on-site parking but there are car parks within walking distance and on-street parking just across the road but spaces are very limited and popular and you are very, very lucky if you manage to procure one! I can thoroughly recommend The Fat Boar and will be returning again very soon.

Always enjoy the food here, great for a special occasion. There was a cocktail night the night we were there - 5 course taster menu - with vegetarian option - paired with 5 different cocktails 😊

The food is fantastic and has a nice atmosphere and decor inside. The Fat Boar have got this setup spot on 👌the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating us with our baby and pram during our visit. Highly recommended and not to be missed.
