Plas Coch in Wrexham

Very disappointed in the visit . Food cold and overcooked. Freezing cold inside .. staff member said it was the vents blowing cold in from outside . Felt rushed .... Table booked for 7.30 but was told kitchens closed 8pm

Lovely people, lovely place and the food is not bad either!

Came here yesterday morning, Monday 30th December at 11am . I popped here for some early lunch on a date , we both enjoyed the food and felt very welcome during our visit. Very friendly team an absolute credit to have warm welcome and great food, definitely be back soon , happy new years to everyone who works at the pub /restaurant

It just all seems "average". I had bangers and mash and the gravy seemed watery, the mash was nice and the sausages just didn't feel or toast nice at all. It had those scorched marks on it (which I'm fully away is part of the cooking process). But they tasted like they were burned on and I could taste the burn. The children's spaghetti was weak and though I'm sure it was reheated, this didn't come out well it at all. The buss Ness didn't bother us at all, the waiting time didn't bother us and even having to push with the baby to use the bathroom, didn't bother us. We'd gone on a match day, so all of that is on us and our choice. The start were really nice and friendly, they were trying thier best with the tools they were given and they smiled throughout and was always polite. If you look at the chain of pubs "The Lounge" you'll see that big formulaic chains can be of high standard and make good choices. Plas Coch feels about 10 years behind society as far as pubs go and as I only go in these places for food, I don't think I'll be back at this one again.

Great local pub for variety of meals including pizza bar. Always clean and tidy. Staff smiling and helpful when needed. Food was hot and tasty as always.

We visit here often because the service is good the food always satisfactory. The staff are attentive and a delight to interact with - we always have a laugh and do enjoy our visits.

Me and my friend went today, we had our drink brought by somebody who doesn’t even work there and it took 2 hours for our food to arrive and all the tables around us had been and gone. We asked for our order to be cancelled so they said they will bring it straight out when it’s ready rather than cancel it like we asked. When it arrived the cheese wasn’t even melted on the burger, we ordered a bacon cheeseburger and looked down in disbelief as we seen the one pathetic slither of bacon on our burgers. We both ate 2 bites and decided to spare our stomachs the burden of the rest of it. Our server didn’t come up to us to ask us how our food was probably deterred by the complaints we’d already made yet went over to the next table to ask them. We just decided to leave in the end. When we arrived home my stomach felt so tight and I had to run to the bathroom to throw up, my friend felt sick for the rest of the night.

Very disappointed with the overall experience. Firstly I ordered pigs in blankets and at £5.99 I expected more than 5! and something that resembled the picture/ description rather than chipolatas in tiny, burnt bacon bits. My main order was Hunters Chicken, the chips were good to be honest but the main part of the order was the chicken and that was very disappointing, a chicken breast with a BBQ sauce drizzled over the top isn’t hunters chicken according to the description. No bacon on it and no cheese.

Lovely food and service as usual. Gluten free menu has a good choice and the team are very helpful with allergens. Highly recommended :)

Lovely staff. I wanted to try the new lunchtime menu with the baguettes, they only offer it Monday-Friday which is very disappointing, I wish they offered it at the weekends as it was tasty and I can't usually go in the week as my husband works full-time, we only got to go this time because it was the Bank Holiday.

I'm a client for a long time in this pub but I've noticed this 2 last times the food comes very cold and not good taste I am really disappointed 😔 with the service in the bar too.☹️

Came in today, only given a 2 star because the of 2 women were polite (the lady on front of house and the lady actually serving food) Asked the lady on the bar if they had a sugary drink, as a member of our party was having a diabetic episode, her bloods had dropped, made us wait even after explaining as “she’s in the middle of serving someone on the till” the lady she was serving had popped back to her table. As someone who’s previously worked in a Marston’s, I know the spec and what was served today was not that. 10th dec

Food ok worst then normal missing stuff off plate , girl who served food was the most miserable person iv ever met , young girl long dark hair, I said stuff missing off plate, said oh and walk off , I was gob smacked , then another girl came 10 mins later to ask how food was before I said no she walked off , really really bad service shame as we come regularly and pay over £50 a time 9th December 2024 6pm

Room was cold, so was the water in the ladies toilet. Food was mediocre Top of bun on burger was burnt. Not a very nice experience when you have taken someone there for their birthday. Couldn’t wait to get out of there, it was warmer outside

We always book a table on match days and even though it's extremely busy the service is spot on . Had an issue where my card charged me twice but they sorted it straight away . The food is lush too and quite often we visit for food that is not on match days . If I had one quibble it would be more bar staff on a match day

The atmosphere was pleasant and not over done so you still felt like you were there to have food and chat and chill, we ordered through a Qr code which I prefer sometimes because you get to fully customise what you want and my girlfriend added a note to their Mac and cheese and it came out perfectly. Waitress came to check up on us mid way through our meal to make sure everything was ok which was pleasant. No complaints and all smiles on the way home.

Unfortunately a recurring problem with this chain of serving a meat pie to a vegetarian. This is the second time in two different restaurants this has happened. Staff however were polite and resolved quickly.

Portion sizes were terrible staff were rude and Not polite. When you deliver food to the table and you say thank you, they don’t acknowledge you. It feels like the staff do not want to work there at all.. When the food arrived, half of it was missing or they didn’t have Ingredients which was not said when ordered. Portion sizes were very much lacking compared to photos. And when arrived, food was burnt, and greasy. I am not coming back again

Booked a family of 9 for a birthday. When we got there we was told there was no meat steaks gammon eg. As it was a large order i wrote it down what everyone wanted so went to order at the till ordered drinks first then ordered the food everything was fine till the food came i odered a meatfeat pizza and pepperoni pizza came, and the adult pizza is the same size as the child pizza. Ordered a ultimate beef burger and chicken burger came so waited 20 mins for them to bring the correct burger but by then the party had nealy finished their food And also ordered a thai prawn curry but they had no prawns so had only exrta veg instead. this is supposed to be a restauant there is no excuse as i booked 3 days in advance . THEY BETTER GET THAIR ACT TOGETHER. Not going again

Food was bog standard cheap and cheerful. Kids pasta sauce was very watery. Sausages on mix grill were mushy inside. Starters came quick. Loaded fries looked like they were from farmfoods across the road. Waited ages after finishing starters for mains, despite being asked by 2 different servers if we want our mains yes. Replying yes please too both. Kitchen door closer was broken so a loud bang every 10seconds, sitting near too this we left with headache

Lovely clean establishment, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food which arrived quickly, overall service was excellent. The only downside was I hadn't been told when I rang last week that the festive menu was only available when you booked, but we found suitable alternatives on the regular menu

Decided to have a meal out with my wife but was disappointed with the burger I ordered as it was red and raw in the middle. Would not recommend the burgers from here if you're not a fan of food poisoning. The fries and onion rings were great though.

Typical British Food. Loveless, tasteless food. Low prices, lower quality. The Beer was fine and the online order Service absolut rubbish Layout. Half of the dishes were not available.

Good old pub food, you have to order yourself at the bar and then it's served to you. The reason for only 2 star's for service is that you do some of it yourself.

Lovely welcome. Shown to table and advised to order asap because 40 minutes between orders and food served. it wasn't a problem because we had plenty of time and understood it was a very busy night with the football on at Cae Ras. Food was great and very good value.

Lovely pub round the corner from the racecourse ground. As away fans we were welcomed and didn't feel out of place. Lovely desserts and nice pub classics to fill us up before the match. Using the QR code to order from the table was so easy. Excellent and friendly service by all

A warm welcome was had from the start. I was here to meet a long standing customer, who brought along his dog. Coming up from London, I was mite concerned that we wouldn’t be allowed in with the dog (as happens so often back home), but no one batted an eyelid, and the dog got her own bowl of water. All staff I encountered were friendly, helpful and very efficient, making a marked change from the humdrum service you get in London. Sarah, who served us our food, was lovely and great to have a smile, as indeed we had from all the team. Food was good, and was plentiful. I had a burger, but asked for no chips and a salad instead. Once again, not a problem. I really enjoyed the venue, and with its on site parking (free as long as you register your vehicle registration on arrival) it was very helpful. Definitely would be only too happy to recommend the venue, and will return when next up here. Well done to all the team, seen and unseen.

The plenty of parking. Good atmosphere, polite and helpful staff. Its pub grub but the food and drink was easy to order via app or over the bar. The food was plentiful, well presented and well cooked and competitively priced. We will return and I would recommend others.

Revisiting due to a first date anniversay, food was excellent and service was top notch.

We visited as it was my daughter’s 9th birthday. Booking was short notice, however we were given a table straight away, even though the restaurant was so busy, the staff were just amazing.. one lady in particular helped us move tables as we were originally by the front door and it was cold when the door opened, which was frequent, this lovely lady just couldn’t do enough for us. The food was amazing also. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Plas Coch, we will most definitely be returning again soon 🥳🫶🥰

.Ordering was so slow because of a very large group and no half pint glasses available needed washing. We order 2 steaks sirloin was inedible very tuff and the rump loads of gristle, the peas hard. We where offered a complementary drink or pudding but felt we could not stay there any longer owing to a number of very unruly children being allowed to run riot. We won't be calling again.

We had a nice visit to the establishment, the food was good, little sad there was no pizza as that's what I had planned to have, my kid had a nice time and meal and the wife enjoyed her curry. I had a a steak and ale pie and that was lovely too . Well prised with drinks in it's valuation too. Overall good experience. My only complaint was the table was a little dirty and we had to call over a staff member to come wipe it as it had a bit solt on and a little dirt

Booked a table for a group in advance to arrive and be told it had been cancelled via email. No email has been received and no-one could confirm the date it had been sent. We were advised that they don’t cater for large groups yet there was a party of 14 sat opposite us. Yes we were served in the end but only stayed as it was too late for us to go else where. Going forward I think we will be giving the pub a wide berth

The food was very disappointing, my wife was served fries instead of chips. It took ages to organise replacement chips. We will not go there again

Over cooked food and items not cooked correctly very surprised after a 40 minute wait

We ordered our meals, there were 6 of us, bought drinks at the bar, the lager was flat, the restaurant had the back door and the front door open and the air-conditioning on as well, it was bitterly cold, we shut the front door and asked for the back door to be closed as it was freezing, both females in the party are cancer patients so for the place to be that cold was uncomfortable, we understand that the staff are running around and are no doubt warm whilst doing so but diners are not, a little thought about that would go a long way. Food was lovely as were the staff but 5 meals came out together and then around 7 or 8 minutes later came the last meal, it was pizza from the pizza oven but surely it should have been timed better? And when it did come out of the oven, the girls stood finishing their conversation whilst the pizza cooled. We have been quite a few times to this place and it's always been a pleasant experience until this time. Would have to think about returning there as we came from the Wirral so not just 5 minutes away.

Sorry but our experience was sadly not good tonight. The only positive was the young lady who served us, she was very polite and did all she could to put our order right and was very courteous. Guy on greeting table not most effective nor energetic did not inform me of having to sign in car park and when i asked later he looked at me like I was simple because i didnt know you had to and could hardly be bothered to talk to me. Ordered two steaks one well done the other medium after 40 mins turned up very rare inside. One sent back was then returned to us cremated on outside and still raw in places on inside. Waited so long by then couldn't wait much longer by sending it back again. Needs friendly manager. Were only told of delay on orders after I had paid in full,bill more than expected as not told type of lager not included in Steak offer. Was a real shame as last time we came here our experience was completely opposite to this.

Excellent shopping destination, with a great choice of supermarkets. I always do my Marks and Spencer, plus Sainsbury’s shopping here as it is so convenient.

There was 8 of us food arrived very fast and hot but just the quality to the price was bad £13 for a small burger just 2 small patties

My daughter asked to come here for her birthday meal. It was ok, not at the standard I expected from previous visits. I got the Donner kebab and the small amount of meat I did have wasnt hot. For 13 quid I expected more from this meal. Kebab shop prices not kebab shop quality. The bun on my daughter's chicken burger was burnt and we waited quite a while for our food. Not the best birthday meal but not the worst. A nice touch would have been for the staff who sat us to have said happy birthday to my daughter as it was on the notes and it wasn't overly busy.

Great service, always happy to accommodate. Well cooked pub food with a good variety for all. Park out side with a beer garden. Large car park . Plenty of room inside for family get togethers

Food was cold chips looked like they had been in and out the fryer so anemic One member of staff her t shirt looked like she'd had it on a week rude looking over her glasses at us, looks like she could do with a good wash, didn't even ask if we wanted condiments or come back to ask if everything was OK will def not come back 🤮
