Great staff nice coffee and cake

Very helpful staff! Service was fantastic and accommodating to my slimming world diet.. and food was fresh and yummy! Good cup of coffee too

The food was good, but when the woman at the till asked whether we were sitting in or taking away, she failed to mention it'd nearly double our bill to sit in, we desided it would harm to sit in for a moment, and we were told to sit down, even though I was already at the till ready to order and pay, so reluctantly sat down at a table 3ft from the till, and waited, the waitress took a while, and when she came although polite, I got asked 3 times if I wanted a drink, I said no to each, just got a sausage roll for myself and my partner and a yum yum between us Then once they arrived, I felt uneasy through the entire thing, as you're meant to pay at the end, but I was worried I'd forget, and when I went to pay I had to go back to the till anyway and recount what I bought Only to find the bill was nearly doubled, I was expecting £4.15 not £7.60, how can you justify £3.45 service charge if one it's set up in such a way it's pointless, two it's not mentioned once, I even mentioned while ordering that I hadn't been in before, and intended on coming in more often, three the decor is extremely outdated to the point it felt like a museum experience, and four, we were there for less than 5 minutes... I will not be returning unfortunately, with the high street dieing and the cost of living crisis you'd think they would rethink this idea, especially with the pound bakery and greggs up the road, not even a minutes walk, I realise Greg's has a service charge, but it's clearly displayed under each item and isn't nearly as much So in short I'm disappointed and won't be returning, particularly to this branch

Popped in to have a coffee and toast while waiting for my car. The toast was lovely and the service was great. Coffee lovely and strong! Feels like the shop itself could do with a makeover as it is a bit dated. Also, a shame about all the produce in plastic. However, I would definitely come back.

My friend and I have recently returned to using Gerrards Coffee Shop, great latte, delicious hot chocolate. Staff lovely and great service, what more can you ask for 💕

Lovely staff, asked for well done bacon lady behind counter cooked it to perfection, lovely service, lovely take out coffee and bacon bap, my first time using gerrards won’t be the last, highly recommend , food beautiful coffee amazing staff absolutely brilliant. ,

Went in for a couple of pasties with my wife. Who I presume was the manager served us but I feel she needed an education in manners. She was a rude and ignorant individual . Our pasties reflected on our service and came across as bland and stale. Gerrards have lost 2 more customers. I will deter others from shopping there.

It has a wide selection of nice quality baked goods, my pasty and cream cake were tasty, it was however expensive for what it was, and expensive to eat inside. The place was also very untidy, and the staff were having an argument, with lots of crashes, rather Faulty Towers!

Decent coffee and good service, but for a renowned bakery the pastries were poor.

Honestly, couldn't find a friendlier place for a coffee/cake than Gerrards. We come here quite often as we find it a safe/quiet place for the baby/toddler to sit or explore. All the staff and customers are happy to say hello and talk to the little one. Food is really good quality and you can tell the care and effort the staff put into it. It may be a chain of cafes but I feel here, they really do care about they serve. Personal choise: Steak pie followed by a Custard Slice

Actually visited the gresford store but not on TA. The staff are fantastic, really welcoming and cheerful. The custard slice was the best I have ever tasted and the sausage rolls are delicious too.

I have always bought lovely produce from this firm for their bread, pastys, cakes etc for years and years as a Wrexham born local and one of my favourites. Today having not purchased from them for some time prices for a single cheese & onion pasty are so expensive about £2.25??? Wow!!! how is this justified I ask? The pasty sadely was flat as a pancake, too much oil/fat which made it greasy. Hardly any filing in it simply more pastry and air. Very very disappointed. Appreciate cost of living increases but if you are going to charge unreasonably high prices for your products please ensure you product matches the price increase and quality you should be providing. Do you agree?

I Called in to Gerrards today for a cuppa and a light bite.. The staff were very welcoming and the service was spot on.. I will recommend to my friends and definitely return when I'm next in Wrexham ..Bel :)

Busy little cafe. Helpful polite staff . A good brew, nice selection of snacks, for quick bite to eat.

Love the staff really friendly but the food isnt as good as it could be especially for the price. Some items are better from the pound bakery which is disappointing.

When in there at 3pm and was told the cafe section was getting closed as the close the 4pm and open until 4.30pm for take away, so we pointed out that it was only 3pm so they then had to let us sit in and even then we weren't aloud to sit down where we wanted to. I can understand they have to start a clean down prosses etc but not and hour and half before closing. Then on top of that they do not have disabled toilets, they only have toilets that are up stairs which is fair enough but maybe advertise it on the window. The staff was more bothered about cleaning and closing down than the service. Some of us were still eating and drinking and others finished sooner but they kept on taking the glasses and plates away etc when they should of waited. When our drinks were getting made I heard the staff members talking about us and saying how we didn't understand why they were telling us they were close etc they had an hour to close it down pluse 30 mins for when the store was open for take aways. When going to choose a cake the staff member didn't have knowledge about what was in the item and old said that they do kot make them on site which is fair enough but you should also know your product knowledge. I.e my little one wanted a trifle and have only ever come access trifles having jelly at the bottom so I asked if it was vegetarian as we do not eat beef or pork so the checked and said it was but even mention there wasn't even any jelly in it and it was sponge so my little one didn't even eat it because he was expecting Jelly now sponge, so if the lady knew the product better she should of knew/ told us it did not have jelly. RUBBISH SERVICE OVER PRICED RUDE STAFF NO DISABLED TOILETS LEFT TO FEEL UN WELCOMED

Went into Gerrards on St David's Day for tea & Barrabrith. Absolutely lovely place, great staff, lovely food and a family run company. Went in again yesterday, chatted toma - brilliant waitress, so suited to dealing with the public.

We were wandering around Wrexham, first time here and found Gerrards for lunch. Great little bakery with an eat in area. Plenty of choice on the menu and such lovely friendly and helpful staff. Food was very nice, fast service and great prices. Best Eccles cakes I have tasted in years! Great little bakery.

i bought some cheese and onion pasties from Gwersyllt Gerrards last week and they where the best pasties I've ever had. even better than all the other Gerrards bakery's

Excellent local bakers selling quality bread and cakes.

Worse breakfast that I ever had, paid almost £25, for 2 coffees, 2 bacon baps, 2 sausage baps and 2 glasses of milk, the bacon baps were discussing, the bacon was cold and very very hard, and the bread was hard in some places, the sausage baps wasn't too good aswell for the same reason, I have been before for some cakes wich are good but today was a complete waste of money and food.

my experience is amazing i live in wrexham and i go to gerrads bakery a lot and i love eating there when i go into town there food is so yummy so much to choose from to have and staff are so sweet and so lovely i couldnt ask for anymore please visit and get a pastie or cakes or whatever you want even drinks and enjoy :) thank you gerrads they are very family friendly 2 xxx

Lots of lovely cakes & pastries both sweet and savoury to buy to take away. It's also a lovely place to sit in & have a coffee & cake or a light lunch.

Called on a wet day before visiting the Christmas market. Ordered a chicken/bacon toastie and cheese/ham toastie and 2 cappuccinos. They were both delicious and very filling, they came with a small side salad. Found the staff very welcoming and friendly and would not hesitate to return.

Excellent manageress very welcoming nothing too much trouble for her all staff are friendly. Will go out of their way to try and provide what you order. All food and drinks are first class prepared while you wait. Pies and cakes are really fresh. Definitely well worth a visit.

Went her for a bite to eat, offered a toastie to be told they had run out, so I asked for a sandwich which they said they could do!. Staff are miserable, loud and not very welcoming. Won't spend my money in here again.

Regularly pick up a couple of Belgian buns or vanilla slices for a treat. They are so nice and quite large portions, yummy. If they have run out of stock they have another outlet only 100m away.

THIS IS A WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET PLACE ,service was excellent a little slow but the manager and staff being both very professional friendly and helpful made our visit well worth it .When our food and drinks arrived it's presentation was excellent,for me my food was let down , there being no gravy but I knew when ordering ,the place it self was immaculate the toilets again also immaculate but not in an ideal place for our disabled community being upstairs

Gerrards are a local firm with beautiful hand made confectionery all locally sourced. The vanilla slice is The best I have ever had.

I've never visited Gerrard's before one day last week in Bala (I was on holiday from Birmingham). The cakes I bought - custard tart and Eccles cakes were absolutely delicious and the service from the Manageress was friendly and efficient. Top marks, for produce and service, made my day! This is part of the letter I felt compelled to send to HO after a terrible experience at this cafe. I am writing to complain about the disgusting treatment I have just received in your Wrexham store on Queen’s Square. My sister, my blind grandmother and I left the establishment feeling humiliated, appalled and threatened. We entered the café looking for a quiet breakfast at around 10.45am on the 23rd of October. We ordered our food and drinks and sat down for a conversation. Unfortunately the conversation became increasingly difficult because the kitchen and counter staff were having an extremely loud discussion about a foul subject matter. Staff were heard saying “my bloody friend got beaten up at the weekend…his face was all caved in…blood was pouring from his nose.” The staff seemed to find this hysterical, laughing more and more as the story progressed whilst my sister’s pasty was growing colder and colder having being left on the counter. Eventually, the waitress brought over our order. She was incredibly rude and stared at me before saying in a passive aggressive manner, “Is this yours?” before placing the tray half on the table staining my grandmother’s coat with grease from the toast. My sister politely requested that she asked staff members to stop swearing and chatting loudly as it was upsetting our grandmother and she said, “I wasn’t swearing.” I suggested she might like to apologise and she simply walked off mumbling that she would get the manager. 5 minutes later, assumedly when the waitress had spoken to her manager we heard a member of staff shout, “Who is kicking off now?” We were absolutely mortified and horrified that this was the response to a simple and polite request. The manager didn’t come over to us, instead walking back and to along the café mumbling deliberately in order for us to hear, “Bloody swearing…who was swearing…for God’s sake.” Again, extremely passive aggressive, offensive and unprofessional. We received no apology and the atmosphere was awful, tense and threatening, we felt compelled to rush our food and leave. I cannot stress how upset we have been by our awful treatment today. The staff were inappropriate, rude and unresponsive to a simple request. I trust that you will deal with this matter with the urgency it requires so that no more customers are subjected to this ill-treatment. With Tesco, Café Nero, BHS and endless other cafes in the immediate area offering much better service and polite, helpful and friendly staff I am astonished that Gerrards do not train their staff more effectively to ensure a positive experience.
