Cunliffe Arms in Wrexham

Love this place, I've been quite a few times in the past and i think the food is always great, just like home cooked with a great selection of really good quality meats, the staff are really helpful and there are traditional ales behind the bar, (not sure how often they change there guest ales), they have an xmas menu out at the moment so I may be making another visit 😋

The atmosphere was wonderful as was the staff. Young Amy was brilliant, had us settled & sitting down in no time. Our meal was excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

Well, 1st time we visited the Cunliffe arm very large, no one in there but it was Monday,could of done with some back ground music but couldn't fault the staff. but the food let the place down!! I had the curry and rice and was boiled in the bag like the rice! No flavour, no spices, very bland, it tasted like Uncle Ben's, I suppose today they had cooks and not chiefs 😉

Another Sunday at the Cunliffe arms. Another wonderful carvery, The choice of roast lamb, cooked to perfection, with at least 6 vegetables and some fluffy "Yorkies". I must remember to book early.

Enjoy eating here at lunch time in the week. Good options available for children and excellent high chair. Staff helpful and friendly. Food great.

The chips were a bit overcooked and hard and didn't really enjoy the fish a bit expensive for what we had, we did find it clean and the staff were very pleasant

Visit regularly, food always good, staff are excellent, always pleasant and helpful. Just had an 80th birthday party here, buffet for 30 people. Food was excellent and good value. One of party has peanut allergy, this wasn't a problem and we were impressed by care taken. Staff as ever were really helpful, can't speak too highly of them all. This is a real gem, a friendly local pub.

Great local pub to enjoy a lovely meal with family or friends. Staff efficient and friendly, good choice on menu at very reasonable prices. It was quite busy but we didn't wait long for our meals to arrive and they were all well presented and delicious. The only negative is that the whole place could do with a refurb but then why worry about that when the food more than makes up for it. I would highly recommend the Cunliffe.

Had a nice meal here with the family who enjoyed theirs too. There is a good selection on the menu for people with different dietary restrictions. Staff are friendly & it is reasonably priced. Will definitely go again & recommend to others

UPDATE!!!!! Nothing says better about a place when a review is taken so seriously that the meat ladies hand deliver a carvery!! Not a hound left behind! Couldn't believe my luck!! Definitely coming back!!! I come here most days after an afternoon stroll. Chasing squirrels works up a bit of a thirst. Sundays are usually my favourite day. The carvery is beautiful and presented so well. HOWEVER! Today my carvery didn't even show up. Despite my usual attempts to attract meat lady, she merely walked passed. I was so annoyed I had to nap. But luckily I finally received a carvery at home. Just beef though. Not the usual fair of mixed meats. Will probably come back, but definitely gone off meat lady. Will tap louder next time x

We go to the Cunliffe arms for the quiz night. Lovely informal pub, great staff, good quiz. Haven’t tried the food yet.

This is a very popular place for Sunday carvery. The carpark was full. Great honest food. Lovely staff. Book early.

Been coming here since our teacher training days at Cartrefle. Very good food as always and excellent prices. Loads of choices. Better food here than some high end places nearby. Clean toilets. Kelly and Bethan always very cheerful and amenable. This is our local despite it being 20 miles from home. Excellent for gluten free and the chef knowledgeable about coeliacs disease, taking the time to discuss options. Thank you Cunliffe, but please can we have 1664 back on draught!!

Book in advance this is so good you have to book early . It is great value home cooked carvery. The best carvery I've had in years

We visited ona sunny Saturday eary evening. Had a lovely Pina Cola and Strawberry Daquery by Amy. Really good service and a friendly pub. Didn't eat on this visit but others looked to be enjoying their food.

Great Sunday dinner, need to book in advance and open at 12 o'clock. Lovely meal and very reasonably priced. Staff friendly and welcoming. Definitely will visit again.

Been there several times after it was recommended to me. Clean, good food at reasonable prices and lovely staff. Sunday carvery is excellent. Can't fault it, one of my favourite pubs.

I've only ever been for the carvery which is fantastic! Really good value for money but great quality as well. Staff are always smiling & easy to talk to.

10-10 Been Here many times recently for a Sunday meal with some family and the food and staff every time I’ve been has been excellent booked to come here for Xmas dinner which was very lucky for us to get a booking in for. Xmas definitely plan on coming here anytime I get a chance great staff very friendly and very great service and food is amazing here never found anything wrong or anything to complain about this place it’s been spot on perfect every time

I'm always nervous eating out due to food allergies, but Cunliffe Arms went above and beyond. Chef came out to the table to confirm and reassure. Food was delicious and they got 10 clean plates returned back as everyone enjoyed their food. Waiting on staff and bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you Cunliffe Arms for a lovely visit.

Good value food, friendly staff, would recommend

My experience at The Cunliffe was exceptional! The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. The food was absolutely delicious, and I couldn't get enough of their amazing surf and turf dish. The drinks were also top-notch and complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, a fantastic pub with great vibes and even better food. I'll definitely be returning soon!

Great Sunday lunch at a good price. Can take a while to get served at the bar. Really good carvery on a Sunday, was a bit disappointed after booking got there to find out they weren't doing the large portion.

The cunliffe is amazing the staff are so lovely and so kind to everyone, the food is amazing , me and my family our local to this pub and it is exceptional everytime :) the minted lamp skillet is awsome

Was slightly apprehensive about how the food would be in The Cunliffe as it isn’t somewhere we tend to go to. Have to say it exceeded my expectations, the food was reasonably priced and all of us throughly enjoyed it. Very tasty and good portions, just right. Staff all friendly too. Will try their Sunday carvery soon. This place serves good food at a decent price.

I'm only rating this pub for drinks as we haven't eaten there recently. The location is perfect for us walking distance, the beer and drinks quality is always good and service likewise. The large lounge is in need of a refurb and is quite dated, would love to see it modernised like the bar area. If we win the lottery we'll put some cash in 😀

Lovely, friendly staff always go out of their way to find us a table. Great food. My favourite meal is the butterfly Cajun chicken with added cheese 😋

Lovely staff and the food is great

Came on Saturday evening for a friends birthday party as a group of 26. After originally struggling to find anywhere to take such a large group on a Saturday night the cunliffe agreed to and honestly they went above and beyond. Everything was absolutely fantastic from the food, to the service and to the room we were allocated. All food was served in good time and all piping hot, I don’t believe anyone at the table had a bad word to say. The girls at the bar and running the food were all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble, especially when we had lots of additional requests, everything was absolutely spot on. Cannot wait to go again and will Definitely book for more party’s/occasions again.

Lovely pub at a lovely location, right beside Acton Park. Food was delicious, excellent selection of gins and the staff (shoutouts to Kelly) were a delight. Also Riley the dog is a treat! Highly recommended

Sunday lunch,carvery.it was ok but veg was not to my taste.i dont want anything mixed in with carrots and would have liked to see peas on.i avoid cauliflower etc like the plague but the beef was nice.never been in the place despite living down the road for 24 years but it was ok.

Excellent catering for a wake, plenty of choice and good quality buffet. The overall decor is a little old fashioned, but all part of the traditional charm of a proper local pub.

Wrexham's hidden gem. The carvey is my absolute favourite, the nicest I have ever had anywhere and I always manage to clear the plate which doesn't happen often. 100% recommend 👌 you won't be disappointed.

My friend and I are frequent visitors to the Cunliffe for the Sunday carvery. The food is delish, piping hot and served with a smile!! I usually have lamb and turkey with crispy roasties and a great selection of veg and tasty gravy. The carvery is very popular and despite being so busy, the staff are friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Went for some lunch to the cunliffe today the food was lovely the service was also really good it was quiet busy in there and I can see why price again well worth it all round well worth a visit you could do alot worse a nice well run pub

Attended for funeral wake. We were in side room but had to go through 2 dining areas to get to it. The buffet and hot drinks were laid out at side of main dining area. Staff not particularly helpful when approached. Food was nice but we didn't feel very welcome.

Served an overpriced guiness in a filthy glass, the fosters wasn’t much better either! Food was shocking chips undercooked and fish absolutely cremated, don’t know how the place is still open it’s filthy 🤮

Found Sunday carvery a bit bland. Can't class as a carvery really if you can only help yourself to cabbage and runner beans.

Nice looking pub. We went on a Sunday for a carvery while on holiday. Friendly staff. Meat was nice but everything else was not up to par I'm afraid. Veg was tasteless and old deep fried roast potatoes is really not my thing sorry. The desserts are incredible though 🤤

My hubby had his 60th birthday bash here last Saturday and the buffet was beautiful, all fresh and plenty of it, staff were helpful and friendly and looked after us, a brilliant night!

What’s not to love! Food and service is always incredible, definitely recommend the 3 small plates for £12, the buffalo chicken bites are amazing, great variety of dishes for everybody on the main menu wether it’s good old pub grub, vegetarian, vegan or Gluten intolerant food they’ve got it all which you don’t find so easily in many places!! Staff are always lovely and very friendly, majority of it is all bar service instead of table service but they are very efficient even in the busy periods. Have had countless good times here, the Sunday roasts are also fantastic, plentiful and good value for money. Always an absolute pleasure to visit. Well done Team Cunliffe, keep up the good work.

Went for Sunday carvery but not up to scratch with the roat potatoes as the were black and the parsnip, you could not eat..To be fair it's usually very good value but this vist was poor..

We had family in town who had spent the whole day travelling and were very tired and hungry, and we ended up at the Cunliffe Arms after being turned away by two other pubs (Bank holiday Monday, we didn't realise we'd struggle to find pubs still serving food after 7pm!) It ended up being a brilliant evening, the staff were lovely and didn't begrudge us turning up just as they were about to shut the kitchen. The food was great, and there was a lovely atmosphere. They are dog-friendly, we just had to sit in a separate section. Sometimes the dog-friendly section of a pub is very cramped but we had plenty of room for 11 people and a dog snoozing under the table.

Came here for a Sunday lunch. I did call to book and had a table in the bar. Nice and spacious and tables nice and clean. Ordered at the bar and had a good deal for two courses. Carvery was the only option on this day for adults. Not sure if that's always on a Sunday. My child had a fish finger meal. We did have to wait to be called table by table. Which I've never done for a carvery before. Maybe helps to keep queue down. Carvery was nice and it was served by the staff. Not self service. It was nice and we all ate our meals. I would like to come again and try other meals in the week maybe and see what they are like.

Nice staff but visited with two elderly Gentlemen friends …regulars the Acton Hotel and came here because the Acton was becoming too noisy with prams and children ..but was unable to hold a conversation because it more noisier at the Cunliffel
