We went for a meal service was amazing Paula was lovely and very welcoming.

Two visits here this week. Paula looked after us so well. Nothing is too much trouble. Food and service outstanding. Will be back soon.

We were in Ruabon for three days while on holiday in London from the US. The family room was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The staff could not have possibly been friendlier or more welcoming. The pub was quaint, dinner was delicious. The breakfast choices provided something for everyone in our group of four. I was sad to leave and hope to return. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic Sunday roast it was. Belly Pork and crackling roast dinner. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream finished with a lovely Irish coffee! PERFECT!

What a lovely pub to stay in. The rooms are top quality and the food was lovely with Robinsons beers

Neat little place, shame they had to clean out the drains which stank out the whole place after breakfast. Radiators in rooms were on full blast and couldn't be adjusted, so we had to open the window mid winter. Rooms are very basic for the price, shower was average and the lamp was broken. Perfect location for what we needed though, except when we needed to get in at 11pm and the person on call was in the bath so we had to wait a while.

I moved to Ruabon a year ago and usually visit the Wynnstay most days for an hour or so after walking. It is a fantastic place to unwind and relax. I have felt welcome since day one & each and every one of the team are friendly, welcoming, polite & professional. I go in solo with my tunes & feel right at home. It has a cosy, warm ambience which attracts regulars and tourists alike & the locals go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Totally recommend a visit there for a drink. Although I haven't eaten there yet, the food looks and smells amazing. Can't fault the Wynnstay.

An old coaching inn with some charm but room 3 was very small and not worth the £130/night B&B. Bathroom extractor fan not working, detached basin plug and chain and toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. Restaurant only serves typical pub food. Breakfast good

Met friends for a meal. There was a wedding in the function room so we thought we’d have a wait. But no, the service was excellent, not rushed, very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious across all of our meals. Couldn’t have asked for more.

We enjoyed a lovely one-night stay at the Wynnstay Arms on our way to Pembrokeshire. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stopover. The food was excellent (it was Pie night so of course we took advantage of their delicious steak & ale pie and the cheese and onion pie), and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. Highly recommend for anyone traveling through the area!

We booked every room at this genuine local pub for two nights. while we all attended a family wedding. The bedrooms are good quality with everything working. Staff from whole team were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We organised a pre wedding meal for about 40 people on Friday - very efficiently served and solid pub food. Breakfast fine - would have preferred separate tea pots rather than pre made tea. Breakfast could have benefited with higher quality sausages, bacon and a wider cold buffet to reflect the cost of greater than £100 per night B and B - the owning chain should take note ! Suspect local staff team cannot make such decisions .. The in person and telephone service was exemplary but response to email was patchy

Went as a party of 12 to celebrate the 40th birthday 🎂 🥳 of a friend from work. Food was amazingly good value. Portions are a generous size and cooked really well. In fact going again in a couple of weeks to celebrate another friend's birthday.

Had breakfast at this fine establishment the decor was amazing, comfortable and cozy just what I needed after being rained off work. Paula my server was fantastic and very helpful.

Hotel itself, beautiful internal and externally, very well maintained by the owner. Family friendly and a good place to host any event. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a huge hotel, but the dining layout makes it feel cosy and personal. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the lunch menu offered something for every taste at very reasonable prices. The food was presented to a very high standard and did not disappoint, it was delicious. We'll definitely be going again.

Thought I’d come in for a nice drink and meal with my husband and I was wrong. I came in the other day and waited at the bar to be served to where a lady wearing a black crop top, blondish hair seen me ignored me and rushed off the bar looking like she was ‘busy’ to where I see her at the end of the bar on her phone. After a few minutes I got her attention to where she shouted “WHAT”. I ordered my drinks and sat down. When going back up to ask for a menu, she said there over there (rudely) I got them and sat down. When coming to order, I once again waited at the bar, to where she rushed off ‘busy’ again, and to my surprise back on her phone and laughing. I waited a few minutes before getting her attention again. I ordered, had my food (which wasn’t at all good, especially for the price) and left. Her attitude is appalling and I can’t believe you have someone working on the bar like that. When looking around I’m assume she’s a manager as all the others were wearing uniform. I won’t be returning again, and I’ll be telling people to avoid coming here.

Staff friendly helpful, surroundings very smarts a shame that the food didn't match overcooked veg tasted bitter beef over cooked and impossible to chew . Staff knew nothing about food allergies. I'm celiac and was told by staff that the Yorkshire pudding on my roast beef Sunday dinner was gluten-free and safe for me to eat Same rush back to inform it wasn't gluten-free, so it was not safe for me to eat. Thank God it was burnt as it would have been. The first thing I would have eaten would have been that I would have been ill

Greeted with a warm smile from the lady named Paula . Food was delicious, three fish and chips , pure white fish and light crispy batter.. one was a childs portion which was a very generous portion . Paula served us , really nice lady , made us feel welcome . We will definitely be back ..

The place was great and cozy and the food and pub service was amazing, however I was a bit disappointed to get to my room and notice there was barely anything left with bathroom toiletries. My room got "tidied" the next day but the toiletries weren't refilled. Very unfortunate because everything else was great.

I stayed here with my sister for four nights. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were extremely friendly and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was excellent as was the restaurant where we ate our evening meal. Will visit again.

Service was a 5 from bar staff and waitress. We had our dog with us so it really made a difference to be asked whether the dog would like some water. Only reason for dropping the score was that my son found his peri peri chicken burger dry - the scampi and marguerita pizza were great

We originally looked at booking the Premier Inn for our one night business stay but two rooms came to over £400. I’m actually glad, because it led us to discovering this BEAUTIFUL hotel! The staff are amazing, the rooms are clean and parking is not a problem. We’ll be back!

Booked for 3 nights to go to the iestedford but liked it so much we stayed for 5 nights

This place has really gone down hill.staff has changed entirely and management are really rude.if it remains like this I won't be back.it has only been a few months since I gave a great review of the wynnstay but my god has it become miserable.will probably be taking my business elsewhere from now on

The breakfast was genuinely terrible. We arrived to a very flustered staff despite there only being a handful of guests. They showed us the “buffet” which was cereal boxes and a few pieces of fruit in a bowl. We sat to wait to order, this took over 45 minutes. Then the food took a further 30 minutes to arrive, with literally no staff in the restaurant for prolonged periods of time. The food arrived and it was simply dreadful. Oversalted, powdered eggs, poor quality ingredients. No apology or explanation from any staff member other than “it’s a bit hectic”.. by this point we were the only people in the entire restaurant so not sure how they’d manage with a full one.

This is a lovely old inn which has good food and nice staff. However I slept dreadfully. The rooms are too hot with no air con. We opened the window and our room was next to the kitchen so was very noisy due to loud extraction system. The room was supplied with a fan bit this didn't help and just added to the noise. I had to take a sleeping tablet by the third night as I was sleep deprived. I would advise people to avoid Room 10. I don't like leaving negative feedback. They would have moved us but the place was full.

Called in for lunch today at Ruabon with my elderly mum. Gorgeous pub made exceptional by the 2 lovely staff . Paula and paula ♥️ they took time to answer mums questions about the pub and its history. Nothing was too much trouble and all done with a chat and a smile. WE Visit the Wynstay ,Ruabon ,Quite Regularly ,As It is Within Walking Distance from Our Home.The Staff Are ALWAYS HELPFULL AND FRIENDLY especially the Two "PAULA,S 🤗👍,we Called There today for Lunch ,And Had ,The Welsh Rarebit ,And Fries ,Which we Shared ,as the portion is ,BIG!,for 12.95,and It was Exellent ,They are Extremely Dog friendly also 🐕🤗.Thanks Again !👍,Mary ,And Eifion Thomas ,And FriendRuth Marston .
