Slow service and repeatedly asked for a iron/ironboard to be sent up to the room But it never arrived. Team have no awareness also of allegens the server kept mistaking gluten free for glucose?? 🫣

The food in the restaurant was sub-standard. We booked a table for 7pm but even that early on some meals were unavailable. The meal was nearly £70 and we hardly touched it. The lamb kofta's were repulsive. They looked awful and tasted worse. My son couldn't eat the chicken kebab skewers. My mother asked for the smaller gammon but it was so small the egg on top of it completely eclipsed it. The staff were struggling to cope with the demand in the bar and restaurant. Standing at the bar trying to get drinks took time and it was difficult to have eye contact with staff over stretched trying to meet the needs of all the customers. This is the third or fourth time that I have booked a meal there that was of a poor standard. The room is reasonable but the shower head didn't work properly and the shower screen door wouldn't close and the bathroom floor was flooded as a result. There is no milk available in the rooms, so you have to go to reception to collect milk which seems unnecessary

Good food, but poor service, really slow. Staff member was really friendly but looked over worked. I booked table in the dog friendly area only to find no table available in that area. We were accomodated in another area, but I felt that they weren't expecting us.

Pleasant birthday celebration, although placed outside the gents toilets and out of the main dining area. Very attentive waitress. Chose the king prawn linguine, very nice,although a lot of garlic oil.

Everything was first class. The service was efficient but considerate and friendly. The food was excellent and the room was outstanding. The shower was the best!

Went to the Wynstay Ruabon near Wrexham for a meal the service was terrible the staff had no interest in helping us and after ordering a drink we tried to order our meal but were told to try again after 30 minutes we finally ordered it and when it arrived we found the special chunky chips were dried out and were actually frozen chips and not fit to eat the steak was also dry it was not cheap and the staff unfriendly and couldn’t wait to end their shift at 3pm would not recommend this place to anyone a total disappointment putting this place in the lowest category of other places close by

A fabulous overnight stay- we really couldn't fault anything!

Staff were lovely and overall experience was fantastic. Just a little perturbed that we were roomed in an accessibility room (Number 1). Wasn't a biggy, just a little unusual and just took the edge off our stay.

We had a family lunch here on Chippy Tuesday so we ordered fish and chips. There was quite a wait but the food was delicious when it arrived. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Special mention of Paula who was meticulous in making absolutely sure the food served to our party members with severe allergies was safe. Thank you, it created a stress free, happy occasion.

Me and my boyfriend has came here for the second time this week as we were both craving what we had last time! absolutely amazing food, high quality and quantity. Alongside this, the service provided to us was time efficient and exceptionally mannerly and polite.

Lovely time, only there for 2 nights. Food in the restaurant excellent, varied menu, good chef. Room was extremely comfortable, clean, well appointed, the tray with kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits etc was a great touch. Bed very comfortable, ensuite clean, spacious and a lovely power shower. Breakfast was fantastic, great choice of cooked or continental. Full Welsh breakfast amazing.

Boyfriend booked this hotel as a surprise, the room had no milk for the tea or coffee, dirty spoons and dirty eyelashes in the room and for breakfast I asked for egg Benedict WITHOUT bacon as I’m a vegetarian and she brought it out with two lots of bacon on it🤦🏼‍♀️ so I couldn’t eat it

My son held his wedding at the Wynnstay Arms, it's an excellent venue where the staff are very professional and very helpful. We booked a room for two nights and can say the room was very clean, warm and spacious. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Wynstay Arms has a wedding venue or a place to send some time, just chilling in what is a very interesting part of North Wales. Well done to the staff and very big thank you, for making my son and his bride's special day a really special occasion. Thank you.

Stayed here for a family wedding. Really nice decor and finish, and made to feel comfortable. Lovely rooms, and great service with friendly staff who were happy to help. Great beer selection and very happy with the food too.

Just an overnight stay but everything was excellent. Friendly staff, cosy room and the best breakfast!

This is the 4th visit for lunch as it's a great location for meeting up with a friend. The food is great value and always tasty and well presented. It's a lovely old building which has been very tastefully decorated. The staff have always been really friendly, especially Paula, who was our waitress today. Unfortunately we haven't tried the wine or beer as driving but the non-alcoholic cocktails are a good substitute.

We were in Ruabon for three days while on holiday in London from the US. The family room was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The staff could not have possibly been friendlier or more welcoming. The pub was quaint, dinner was delicious. The breakfast choices provided something for everyone in our group of four. I was sad to leave and hope to return. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic Sunday roast it was. Belly Pork and crackling roast dinner. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream finished with a lovely Irish coffee! PERFECT!

Neat little place, shame they had to clean out the drains which stank out the whole place after breakfast. Radiators in rooms were on full blast and couldn't be adjusted, so we had to open the window mid winter. Rooms are very basic for the price, shower was average and the lamp was broken. Perfect location for what we needed though, except when we needed to get in at 11pm and the person on call was in the bath so we had to wait a while.

I moved to Ruabon a year ago and usually visit the Wynnstay most days for an hour or so after walking. It is a fantastic place to unwind and relax. I have felt welcome since day one & each and every one of the team are friendly, welcoming, polite & professional. I go in solo with my tunes & feel right at home. It has a cosy, warm ambience which attracts regulars and tourists alike & the locals go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Totally recommend a visit there for a drink. Although I haven't eaten there yet, the food looks and smells amazing. Can't fault the Wynnstay.

Excellent hotel. The hotel team were very friendly and welcoming. Spotlessly clean. Spacious room. Delicious evening meal and a superb breakfast. I would 100% recommend and will definitely return soon.

Good and pleasant service good food and great atmosphere

Popped in for a late lunch with my son. Lovely friendly service from the two ladies front of house and excellent fish and chips. Don't know why we haven't visited before as its right on our doorstep. Definitely be back!

We took our daughter and and 7 week old grandson for lunch to this lovely cosy pub. We had fabulous service by a lovely lady called Paula. The food was excellent, baby changing facilites excellent. We had small fish and chips and hunters chicken. All delicious.

An old coaching inn with some charm but room 3 was very small and not worth the £130/night B&B. Bathroom extractor fan not working, detached basin plug and chain and toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. Restaurant only serves typical pub food. Breakfast good

Met friends for a meal. There was a wedding in the function room so we thought we’d have a wait. But no, the service was excellent, not rushed, very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious across all of our meals. Couldn’t have asked for more.

We enjoyed a lovely one-night stay at the Wynnstay Arms on our way to Pembrokeshire. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stopover. The food was excellent (it was Pie night so of course we took advantage of their delicious steak & ale pie and the cheese and onion pie), and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. Highly recommend for anyone traveling through the area!

We booked every room at this genuine local pub for two nights. while we all attended a family wedding. The bedrooms are good quality with everything working. Staff from whole team were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We organised a pre wedding meal for about 40 people on Friday - very efficiently served and solid pub food. Breakfast fine - would have preferred separate tea pots rather than pre made tea. Breakfast could have benefited with higher quality sausages, bacon and a wider cold buffet to reflect the cost of greater than £100 per night B and B - the owning chain should take note ! Suspect local staff team cannot make such decisions .. The in person and telephone service was exemplary but response to email was patchy

Went as a party of 12 to celebrate the 40th birthday 🎂 🥳 of a friend from work. Food was amazingly good value. Portions are a generous size and cooked really well. In fact going again in a couple of weeks to celebrate another friend's birthday.

Excellent service. Room beautiful and clean. Had everything I required for an overnight stay. Food menu had plentiful dishes to choose from. Hotel itself, beautiful internal and externally, very well maintained by the owner. Family friendly and a good place to host any event. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a huge hotel, but the dining layout makes it feel cosy and personal. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the lunch menu offered something for every taste at very reasonable prices. Excellent lunch stop on our long drive home from south Wales to Yorkshire. Only just off the A483. Dog friendly. Spacious. Good choice on menu.very warm welcome from everyone. Good value.

Thought I’d come in for a nice drink and meal with my husband and I was wrong. I came in the other day and waited at the bar to be served to where a lady wearing a black crop top, blondish hair seen me ignored me and rushed off the bar looking like she was ‘busy’ to where I see her at the end of the bar on her phone. After a few minutes I got her attention to where she shouted “WHAT”. I ordered my drinks and sat down. When going back up to ask for a menu, she said there over there (rudely) I got them and sat down. When coming to order, I once again waited at the bar, to where she rushed off ‘busy’ again, and to my surprise back on her phone and laughing. I waited a few minutes before getting her attention again. I ordered, had my food (which wasn’t at all good, especially for the price) and left. Her attitude is appalling and I can’t believe you have someone working on the bar like that. When looking around I’m assume she’s a manager as all the others were wearing uniform. I won’t be returning again, and I’ll be telling people to avoid coming here.

Staff friendly helpful, surroundings very smarts a shame that the food didn't match overcooked veg tasted bitter beef over cooked and impossible to chew . Staff knew nothing about food allergies. I'm celiac and was told by staff that the Yorkshire pudding on my roast beef Sunday dinner was gluten-free and safe for me to eat Same rush back to inform it wasn't gluten-free, so it was not safe for me to eat. Thank God it was burnt as it would have been. The first thing I would have eaten would have been that I would have been ill
