Best roast I've had in a long time in a pub. All fresh and homemade, definitely worth the visit! Staff are brilliant and friendly also, I will be back soon!

Good place to go for a pint.

Loved it here , bar staff were ace and the band monkey wrench were class. A couple of clowns in there but to be fair they were very drunk. I remember my first beer.

Visited here with my family for an evening meal very reasonably priced it cost us just over £30 for 4 of us 2 adult 2 kids food was very nice and came out fairly quickly we willbe eating here again give it a try im sure you wont be dissapointed

Drove past, thinking they no longer did Sunday lunch as the sign outside was blank. We popped in to ask and they do still do them. We had 4 Sunday lunches and all of us enjoyed it. Good value at £7.95. The biggest shame was that there was nobody else in there and we can’t understand why. The food was good, it’s clean and tidy and in a busy location. Perhaps you could make better use of your advertising space out front?

Under new management. We loved the old Carvery, wonderful food and lovely hosts. The new staff are friendly and pleasant but the food was heat and serve, and sadly they couldn’t even get the heat part right. The place was packed under the old management, the empty car park and empty restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime tells you everything you need to know. Genuinely hope they sort their food out and make a success of the place, but we won’t be going again until they do.

We all went to the New Inn to find it had been taken over. The couple that were running it were outside smoking. She was tidy and he was scruffy. I asked if they did Sunday lunch and his reply was no. Will not be going there again

Amazing place food is amazing and the staff are really friendly

A very basic, simple pub. Glasses, clean. Ale, limited but very well kept. Food, far beyond expectations. Staff, professional and friendly. A very pleasant surprise.

Love the food, can not complain at all. I’ve returned multiple times and not once had a problem with anything. Well that’s until now it’s up to let my problem is if the new owners can keep up the quality as the bar is set extremely high by Tam and her team, fingers crossed her next venture is a restaraunt in Wrexham x

Very good Sunday dinner for a good price

As wife had taken the girls away for a few days , the boy and myself thought we’d try here , the son had the noodles and I had to opt for another meal due to no cashews it was lovely served with jasmine rice and a side order of chips pad kaprow was my meal quite fiery though , would recommend and return bar maid was very pleasant and helpful thanks again.

Very useful pub, we were here to see The Declan Swans and we had a great night.

We went here for my mums birthday as a family, when we got there they had no beef so we had to wait 10 minutes, when the beef was ready I had a slice and pork too, the pork wasn’t cooked properly and the turkey was pink too, the gravy was like dish water, for pudding we ordered cheesecake which when they brought it out they took it back off us as it was off. I would never go here again and would not recommend it either

It is what it is, a local pub with food options. Live music on Saturday and generally okay as a pub.

If you desperately in need of food go if not don’t bother.

I've just moved to Johnstown and popped over to the pub with my parents after a day of gardening and unboxing. The beauty of the place is the wide variety of the menu which includes Thai, other Asian dishes and British pub grub. The thai panang curry and the green curry were packed with fresh vegetables and full of the fresh flavours of lemongrass and kaffir lime. Very friendly pub and a pleasure to sit outside in the warm evening sun.

Lovely home style sunday carvery. All you can eat including the meat. Lots of veg on offer too. Couldnt fault it and great value for money. Very busy so you have to book in advance.

Excellent food. Beautifully cooked meat and the only place I've been where you can have as much meat as you wish from the carvery. Love this place. cosy and friendly owners and staff. A bustling inn. Well worth a visit.

Come here every couple of months for sunday lunch and its always good. The pub is a little rough around the edges but the food and staff are great. Meat is always tender and always lots of veg etc to choose from and the bonus is you can keep going back for more (if you can fit it in). Well worth every penny

The all you can eat carvery was just that, with a vast choice of vegetables and three types of meat. Having tried various other carveries this is the only one I know of that lets you have as much as you like including the meat. Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, sausages and sauces with a delicious gravy available too. Staff were very friendly and the pub overall had a good atmosphere. I would recommend giving this carvery a try and look forward to returning for another one soon.

Our first visit to the Sunday carvery at the New Inn. Although local, had not been in the past, but after hearing lots of good recommendations, we gave it a whirl today, and so glad we did. A friendly welcome and a super carvery. The food was amazing and the customer can go back for more as much as they want. £7.99 for adults, mine was less as I don't eat meat, this is excellent value for money. The surroundings are not posh, but personally I'd prefer good food to a posh decor.

Mouth watering Home-cooked fresh food. Choice of 3 meats, various vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, real gravy. Able to return for a second helping if you can fit it in. £7.99 for adults, £5.99 for children, under 3s free. Worth a visit

Brilliant staff.. brilliant food

We have eaten here four times now over the last couple of months and each time the food has been to a really high standard. Most definitely one of the best Sunday dinners to be found anywhere.

I was here as part of a large family group. Very nicely cooked meats (Gammon, Pork and Beef were the choices). Excellent veg - very pleasing change from standard carvery fare. You can go back for more veg and meat too - another welcome departure from the run of the mill place.

We've just come back from this place , after booking a table as a treat for my Thai friend and her husband , as we walked in the place it looked like it lacked a bit of tender loving care , the log burner looked like it still had last winters ashes all over it ., we eventually were greeted by the barman , and shown to our table almost in the fireplace , we ordered our food , our starters left a lot to be desired , we waited about an hour for our mains , were were three other people in for food after us ,and one lot of take away ordered , barman came and apologised for delay saying they were busy , when we eventually got our mains it wasn't of a good standard , ,

We went for a 3 meat dinner on Sunday because the price was good at £7.99 pp and you can...

Meat was a bit dry, gammon was very salty, mash potatoes look if it was done for a baby, it was very bland, no taste, stuffing with not cooked long enough as it was raw in the middle, spoons for the vegetables where left under lights, so you could not pick up to help yourself for vegetables, pudding was horrible I asked for sticky toffee pudding and my friend had cheese cake, and it just looked like baked custard pie, and it was hot aswell.

Great friends, great company and great, fantastic food and great Landlords. Been going there for the last 14 years. MY LOCAL.

We booked a table for ten of us (whole family gathering) and we had a lovely Sunday cavery. Plenty of choice and they even provided chicken nuggets for my grandson who is so fussy! Will definitely return. Good food at a good price.

Cannot fault this place friendly staff and fantastic carvery, everything was cooked perfect and plenty of it and plenty of choice, you could even go back for more. This place gives a place near Chirk a run for there money.

Lovely sunday roast and great value for money

The Thai food is FANTASTIC & is cooked well by Tao,mine hosts Thai Wife,atmosphere is great & casual.The mid week & w/end roast carveries,again cooked by Tao,are EXCELENT value for money,(cut & come again,as many times as you like,meat inc.),large choice of veg to accompany the choice of 3 meats,(usually pork,beef & gammon). Booking recommended but if in the area,worth dropping in on the off chance.

Never been before. Was made very welcome as we arrived even from an Evertonian !! We had the meals explained to us as we hadn't been before . Our food was excellent and look forward to going again.

Best bloody carvery my other half and I have ever had! Choice of three meats and the option of going back for more, yes, MORE meat! That happens nowhere I've ever been before! Best crackling I've ever had, got given a generous portion too despite not having the pork. Numerous veggies, sausages, yorkshires, AMAZING stuffing. Real gravy none of that instant stuff :) and plenty of condiments! Staff can't do enough for you, including the owner who was busy playing host, escorting elderly women by the arm to seats, carrying a meal for another elderly gentleman, chatting with the children. You name it! For a first visit we were certainly made to feel one of the 'locals'. Given a menu for their Thai Village nights too and informed although they don't deliver we are more than welcome to ring and collect a Thai food order in the week, we don't need telling twice! We will certainly be back!£7.99 per adult£2.99 under 7sYou won't need to eat for a week after paying a visit!

We were in Wrexham visiting family and attending the Comic Con.The New Inns carvery was recommended to us so we made a booking.The table was reserved waiting for us and after getting some drinks in, we were told to go help ourselves when ready. The food was absolutely beautiful and probably one of the best carverys I've ever had.We'll definately be back when back in Wrexham for family. Actually, the foods probably worth the 4hr trip on its own!

I went here last week and tried the spicy chicken kebabs which were very tasty indeed and you got a lot for your money well worth a visit.

This is very local to us so thought we'd give it a try, so glad we did. It was very good, beautiful meats and you can have all 3 lots of different veg and piping hot and you can go back for more and all for £7.99 - bargain x

Fantastic food went in for carvery was given a large amount of meat and was told if I wanted anymore to come back up which never happens anywhere else food was delicious had two younger boys 4 and 5 and they made them a portion of chips and nuggets no problems didn't charge us extra staff were so friendly and helpful will definitely be coming back keep it up guys

I have eaten here a few times for sunday lunch and have to say the meat is the best I have ever eaten. The service is so friendly and I would come here every week for the best lunch in town.

New owners now have had The New Inn Johnstown for a year and have introduced a Thai menu and do the most fantastic carvery on a sunday. Well worth a visit .also entertainment every fri and sat .a completely different place from the old

As a family of 6 we just had our first visit today, and it will be the first on many ☺. The choice of meats was Pork, Beef and Gammon all cooked superb and melted in your mouth, and the veg selection was excellent too. The gravy was proper gravy with 'bits' in it, not something out of a packet. It is a all you can eat carvery even on the meat !! Nowhere else I know let's you have seconds with the meat!!We all had puddings too which we struggled with due to the amount of dinner we had eaten but they didn't disappoint.All the staff were friendly and attentive. WELL WORTH A VISIT!!

Excellent carvery ( In fact .. I would say the best that I've had !! ) owner and staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome - as we're not local to this village. You can go back for as many helpings as you can manage with no restrictions whatsoever !!! Lovely food with matching atmosphere - would definitely recommend !

Second time I have been now tried the 2 course with a glass of wine £10 and this second time off the main menu - both excellent meals, very tasty, good friendly service and if you are unsure of what to order the staff explain what is what and best for your preferences - will definitely be going back

The New Inn now contains a Thai Restaurant so we thought we would give it a go. We were not disappointed. The food is cooked by the landlady who isThai herself and it was really tasty and very good value - 3 courses for £10.00!!

im new to the area and my partner and i called in for a drink after a hard day,we was made to feel at home by the bar staff .having spoke to them about the food they serve which is thai we decided to order.the waitress was excellent .when our food was served it looked amazing and we was'nt dissapionted it was out of this world totally blown away.also very well priced... we've also booked to come for sunday dinner .this place is just the best weve ever been to recently.the bar manger robbie was also telling us about up coming events at the new inn andf that how the new owners have transformed it ...new inn johnstown we will be back
