A true local pub. Fantastic, friendly atmosphere. Great quality drinks at good prices.

This place is amazing, fantastic staff and people who drink there. I have been going to the farmers for many years now, and I just love the place. Highly recommend if you want a cheeky pint and a catch-up with a pal.

Lovely little pub hidden away with a nice atmosphere. They were serving food outside which we tried. Two tiny paper bowls of cold 'Biryani' for a tenner was nothing to rave about. I tried a J.W.LEES lager which was labelled a 'craft' Lager. These were £5 each.

Incredibly friendly cozy pub with welcoming bar staff and sound locals. Very much a community asset to the area. Would 100% recommend especially if you like a good pint of Guinness 😁

I love this devious pub. Everyone is very welcoming and the bar staff are bloody brilliant. Lovely variety of crisps. Made me feel happy. I really appreciate the atmosphere in this pub, definitely better than the Same Yet. Found my new Go-To. Come here quite frequently. Would recommend. 10/10s.

Ended up here tonight after being stranded nearby, everyone was really friendly and kind and the whole place had a warm and inviting atmosphere, will definitely be back at some point :)

A decent pub to visit and freindly atmosphere

Stumbled on this pub totally by accident,but so glad we did only down side is its not my local 😢. Called in mainly to use the loo after collecting something in the local area and it's a long drive home. We ended up staying for a couple because of the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. I read the previous review and wondered if they'd been to the same pub I'd been. It's a small clearly local pub,but it's hard to see who's a regular and who's a one off customer because there's no difference in service or welcome. It can't be easy in the hospitality trade with all the restrictions in the current climate, but they really did manage to offer a balance of service and safety. Hope life takes me past again as I'll definitely be dropping in again (the loo's are spotless too 😉).

What a lovely pub with great atmosphere! Can’t beat a good pub with friendly staff with a a fantastic sense of humour! Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Kids play area is safe, well maintained and fenced off. It’s what we all need - a welcoming family pub! Plenty of drinks to choose from all with Reasonable prices. Just wish it was closer to home!

Went for a Sunday walk and popped in for a drink... Under new management - very friendly and great with my young children.. also play area which come in handy! Will definitely be visiting again

Great family run pub with lovely staff members who are very helpful. Reasonable priced drinks and lots of choice. Barmaid recommended a wine for myself and lager for my partner. We also took my daughter into the pub with my daughter who is 1 and the play area is extremely clean and tidy. Very safe for her to go down the slide etc... Child friendly and didn’t mind her walking around and exploring which is refreshing. Very clean pub. Toilet facilities were very clean. Will be back again with and without children. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

Last night I went to the farmers pub, when I walked in I asked the woman do they have a drinks menu because usually when you go into a pub or restaurant they do have drinks menus, I asked the staff, she said to me it’s a pub not a restaurant then laughed in my face, then she said over here we have some drinks and also over there we have some drinks in a very sarcastic manner which I was not happy about so I walked out with my boyfriend. This is not how a woman should be spoken to even from a woman bartender. Also if us women want to go to a nice pub with there partner I would not recommend there as it is more of a gentleman’s pub and I was the only woman there when I walked in with my boyfriend which made me feel uncomfortable. I will not be returning back to this pub especially when a staff member spoke to me like a piece of s****t

Nice friendly pub and quick service

I must admit, I took my family here with pretty low expectations of the food. However, we wanted to eat somewhere close by, and we thought we would give it a shot. What a turn up for the books! The food was fantastic, and all of us were thoroughly impressed. A word of warning, if you don't like big portion sizes, this isn't a place for you. However, I'm a fatty, so it's perfect.

Great pub, nice staff, food was really good. Dog friendly. Next time we are in town we will go here again.

THE FARMER'S ARMS IS A CHARMING LITTLE PUB AND IS THROUGH TO DATE BACK ABOUT 200 YEARS, IT IS EVERTHING YOU WOULD EXPECT A BRITISH PUB TO BE, I WAS TAKEN BACK AT HOW QUAINT IT WAS ,THE ATMOSPHERE WAS WARM AND COSY, NOTHING LIKE SOME PUBS TODAY WHICH ARE ROWDY AND COURSE, THIS PUB STUCK ME AS THOUGH I STEPPED BACK IN TIME TO A DAY WHEN THINGS WERE SLOWER AND NICER. FROM THE MOMENT YOU STEP THROUGH THE CUTE LITTLE GATE INTO THE LOVELY BEER GARDEN AND ENTER THE PUB ITS SELF YOU CAN FEEL A VERY NICE ATMOSPHERE. ONCE INSIDE I FELT AT EASE. THE COUPLE WHO RUN THIS PUB JOE AND ANITA ARE EXTREMELY NICE AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE AND MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME THE BEER TASTED COLD AND FRESH, AND THE SEATING WAS NEAT AND COMFORTABLE, AND I MUST SAY THAT THE WHOLE PLACE WAS SPOTLESS, INCLUDING THE LADIES BATHROOM , THE PUB IS SITUATED ON A LITTLE STREET THAT HAS A GREEN WERE THEY HAVE DIFFERENT EVENTS GOING ON LIKE THE BROUGHTON HOUSE FUNRAISER ON THE 5TH OF MAY BROUGHTON HOUSE IS WERE EX SERVICE MEN LIVE THAT FOUGHT FOR ENGLAND, APPARENTLY AT THE FUNDRAISER THEY HAVE ALL KINDS OF STUFF LIKE OLD ARMY VEHICLES, A TEA DANCE AND PAINTBALLING. NOW ACCORDING TO JOE AND ANITA THE FARMERS ARMS IS GOING TO BE SERVING FOOD SOON AND WILL BE HAVING ENTERTAINMENT TOO, THEY ALL SO HAVE A CUTE LITTLE PLAY AREA ROUND THE SIDE OUTSIDE FOR KIDS , THE GORGEOUS BEER GARDEN WHICH WAS ALSO SPOTLESS HAS PICNIC TABLES SO IF YOU SMOKE, OR JUST WANT TO ENJOY YOUR DRINK OUTSIDE THEN YOU ARE ALL SET , SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PUB TO CALL YOUR OWN REGULAR PLACE TO GO OR YOU ARE VISTING THE AREA AND WANT TO EXPERIENCE A QUAINT CHARMING LITTLE GEM OF A PUB THEN THE FARMERS ARMS IS THE ONE FOR YOU , THIS PUB IS LOCATED AT 51 SIMISTER LANE PRESTWICH MANCHESTER ENGLAND , AS WE SAY IN ENGLAND CHEERS

Great local. A proper pub. Two or three Lees ales on handpump in good condition. The homemade pies come highly recommended though i havent tried them yet but i will. Friendly landlord, staff and locals. If you live close this should be your local.

Great local pub with superb, cheap lunch menu. You have to try Joe's homemade pies. I had the cheese and onion pie, mash, peas and gravy which was absolutely delicious. My friend had the steak chiabata and salad, also delicious. Lovely, friendly staff.

Having dropped our daughter at the arena we decided to stop for something to eat. The Farmers was close and looked ok so we gave it a try. Nice and clean, good food and beer. Good price £25 for 2 meals, a pint and a small bottle of prosecco.

2 ales on however we went during a match and it was really loud and loads of swearing so couldn't wait to leave.

Great cosy pub,chilled,casual and friendly,top landlord and staff,good pies,beer and sport coverage,a proper boozer got better,hard to find nowadays,well done.

I called Joe last minute on Wednesday 20th to enquire about the possibility of holding a small wake there 2 days later (Friday 22 July) with not much hope of finding somewhere at short notice. We are out of the area and found the pub via a web search. Joe could not have been more accommodating for our small party of 12. Nothing was too much trouble and the spread he put on was fantastic for the occasion - 3 different sandwich fillings, victoria sponge and lemon cakes, scones, cheese and biscuits with caramalised onion relish and brownie bites and battenburg cake. Joe was welcoming and extremely helpful. The pub was not open to the public until 4pm but Joe didn't hesitate to welcome us in at 2pm. Thank you so much

Great beer, great homemade pies, great landlord.

As regular customers, the Farmers has suffered over the years from a succession of good, bad & indifferent landpeople (If there is such a word!), but Joe, our current landlord, has really pulled things together. Beer is spot on & "Joe's Pies" are reaching near legendary status! Always a good, friendly crowd / atmosphere. Well worth a visit, cheers to the future! Derek & Susan
