The Farmers Arms Inn in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

We had a really nice lunch today in the garden at the Farmers Arms. The service was really quick and efficient . The salad bowl was full of prawns and very tasty , I would have it again! The fish chips was a generous size and was really tasty .

First time visitors to The Farmers Arms inn with family . We were greeted by a member of staff with a very nonchalant attitude, seeming like we were an inconvenience to her. On a positive note, the lady who took our drink and food order was very polite and attentive. However, it was 15-20 minutes before our drinks were brought to the table. All five of us chose to have the carvery and went up to the serving counter which is on wheels. As my partner reached across for potatoes she unintentionally moved the food station about 2 inches and the person serving abruptly told her not to push it. My partner replied that it was accidental. We would have thought health and safety regulations would have required a hot buffet server to have locked wheels to prevent it from moving due to the heat, as well as the safety of the staff using sharp knives. There should have been either a warning sign or a polite verbal mention that the serving station could possibly move, not the stroppy attitude we were met with. This would not have been an issue if it was secured into place. Some adults of a shorter stature and older children would have difficulty reaching for food. As we were walking away he also complained that serving spoons had been left in the incorrect compartments, saying loudy "someone has double dipped". We were all careful not to do this, so would have been left in the wrong place by whoever was there before us. The food wasn't particularly tasty for a carvery as everything had a bit of a twang to it, and it was difficult to cut the meat with blunt cutlery knives. Due to the attitude of the staff and quality of the food, we definitely won't be returning and would not recommend. This could simply be rectified with some basic customer service training for staff, a secured food station or warning signage, and maybe some steak knives.

Wow. What a quirky clean tidy pub . We didn't have a booking and was offered both the restaurant area or the bar area . We opted for the bar and sat in a quiet corner of the what I would call a little conservatory. A great selection of specials on the board that would cater for many . The beer battered chicken starter is a must . Perfectly cooked chicken prices in a light crispy batter . With a delicious sweet chilli mayo. The haloumi fries were thick cut and delish also with a jam accompaniment. The mains were equally as tasty . Very hot when served to our table and the staff throughout our visit were lovely. My only bad point would be that whilst we were eating we were asked 5 times by different staff how the meal was . So on this I can't really mark them down as too attentive is better that never seen . Well done to you all we both really enjoyed our meals and will be back when we visit the area again . Compliments to the chef/s

Due to having various allergies. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Louise the waitress and Shelley the chef guided me through the options available on the carvery. And what a wonderful meal it was! The meat was cooked perfectly and vegetables delicious.

Visited twice whilst staying nearby and had two great meals , the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the price was very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Unimpressive food coupled with sloppy service. Service was slow, when my food arrived I was told my cutlery would be with me in a minute. 8 mins I checked with an another staff who told it was self service. I have no problem with that but tell at the start please. Food was average. Breaded chicken starter was more bread and less chicken and my burger was crispy and dry. I would not recommend visiting

Quite a few vegan options, but it would have been nice to see some less processed vegan options. I opted for the leek and potato pie in the end, which was OK (the outside pastry was rock hard, but the filling tasted nice). It's a nice place to go, plenty of parking and plenty of tables. They do a weekday roast which seemed to be popular but don't think they had any vegan options unfortunately.

Attended when visiting relatives, lovely decor and welcoming it being nice and warm on a terrible evening weather wise The food was very very nice and reasonably priced, a very good choice and personally I had the Gammon it was massive and very tasty The staff were friendly and welcoming We will return again for sure

My son and I went for lunch, decided on a carvery. A really polite and happy young man called SAM was serving. An elderly lady was in front of us and Sam was so polite and caring, he got a large tray for her, helped her whilst she was picking what she wanted then he offered to carry her food to the table. He then served us. Smiling and joking and so kind, he is a great asset to your team and made us feel so welcome.

My wife and I have just enjoyed a delicious early evening meal. Myself having sirloin and my wife having the lemon pork slices from the specials. Both were delicious. So lovely to see the place so busy too. Well done all.

Mildly average a very experience really. Good was good but you don’t really get a lot for your money. Bar staff were super busy. Ordered a large Pepsi, the nozzle from the drink fell off the machine into the drink. The bartender just poured the Pepsi into another glass and tried to serve me the drink. I had to ask him to remake it.

Lunch with a friend, both of us opted for the carvery. Meat choice was turkey or beef, both of us opted for the turkey. Each of us were served two generous slices of turkey, a slice of stuffing, a tiny pig in blanket, and a Yorkshire pudding, all were nice. It all goes downhill from here! Roast potatoes were very soft, some so soggy they’d almost turned to mush. Sprouts are clearly frozen, they were hard, tasteless and just horrid. Carrots had been boiled until they couldn’t be cooked anymore. Roast parsnips were a soggy mush and were disgustingly swimming in liquid. Broccoli was so overcooked it was grey in colour. Cauliflower cheese was almost passable, and the gravy was water like in consistency. On this occasion I had a voucher giving 25% off the meal. Even taking this into consideration the overall quality of the food made it feel poor value for money. I have had the carveries here before, not the best out there by a long shot but this particular time neither myself or my friend were impressed at all. Either change the chef or retrain the chef or I anticipate a loss of custom. Just to add though, the waitress was attentive and did her job well.

Stayed for meal after Thursford show carvery arranged by bus company we were with must say this was EXCELLENT service ok food all cooked nicely puddings choice of four Turkey or beef even Brussels everyone happy with their meal

Terrible terrible service. We had to clear our own table and wipe it down as the waitresses were not interested. There were more than enough staff on duty but they were disinterested in looking after people. I've never had to do that before ! When the food arrived it was inedible. Rock hard potatoes, watery horrible curry, uncooked pastry - so we left without eating it. NO ONE was interested that we had a terrible meal. WASTE OF MONEY

Meeting a family member for lunch, one of us decided to have the lasagne, and the rest opted to have the carvery. We were first inline for the carvery, Turkey & Beef, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puds, stuffing, roast spuds, carrots, roast parsnips, Brussels, cauliflower cheese, green beans BUT no mash potatoes, oh well... It was nice and well worth the midweek price... Desserts consisted of jam sponge and Xmas pudding with custard and 2 cheesecakes. The cheesecakes were liked and my only criticism would be that I would have preferred the custard to be hotter...

Went in with me and my partner had a choice of bar or restaurant picked the restaurant not realize it the restaurant and the bar menus are the same so took a seit order drinks and tock food orders not that long waiting for the food to come food look nice and it was hot but the steak in my French sick was near on burnt very dry mentioned it to the waiter with no response whatsoever sow pls be castle in there

Nice food and good value. Was staying at the neighbouring hotel so was convenient to get to. Beer battered chicken strips were nice but rich. Nice atmosphere and decor.

Hadn't booked so ate in the 'bar' area. Airy, light music in the background, helpful staff. Chose from the Chef's specials and had one of the tastiest burgers ever! Cooked to perfection, it literally melted in the mouth. Delightwd by not over-loaded plates and a good standard of cooking and presentation. Thank you for a lovely lunchtime treat!

It's so good to know that good old fashioned customer service is not dead! My partner and I wanted to share some chilli nachos, but he's a vegetarian, so I asked about serving the chilli separately. The chef came out to us and offered to do the nachos in two separate bowls. It was absolutely delicious, so thank you so much for great service..... we'll be back!
