Had steak frites with peppercorn sauce absolutly gorgeous would highly reccomend.

Mothers day 25 I really enjoyed our visit on Sunday however there was a situation with our food which I feel I'd like to voice as I dont think it was handled very well. Due to inside being fully booked we arrived early to grab a table outside. There was 8 of us all together and managed to get two benches that had already been pushed together. As we were ordering the person taking our order said our food will come all together which we thought they meant as a group. The menu was either two or three courses. So we chose two courses each. Adults had a starter and main and kids had main dessert so when our mains came out before our starters we were surprised. Also the kids icecream came out before their mains which as you can imagine with a 3 and a 4 year old it didn't go down very well. We asked if it could be brought out when we are ready for it but we're told that they don't offer this service outside. We asked if the kids icecream could at least be put in the freezer to keep it cokd and were were told no. We even spoke to the manager which she said no too. This is a bit unfair as we are paying the same as the customers inside but yet we get a different service. Surely offer a different menu for people eating outside if that's the case. My family had 2 adults and 1 toddler which we paid £130 for our meals and drinks that day. My little one didn't have his icecream in the end because it had melted and our mains were cold by the time we got to them. It's an awful shame too as the food was lovely and the staff running the food were really nice.

Service was a bit slow considering it wasn’t overly busy but the Sunday lunch was lovely . Will definitely be going back

Visited the Farmers Arms the weekend just gone, despite the pub being teeming with customers the staff managed handle the pressure very well, more specifically the brown haired girl behind the bar (Kate?) who made sure to be attentive and provide quick yet friendly, quality service with a smile and made us feel very welcome, and will definitely be returning. Food came quick, along with the drinks, great atmosphere and impeccable staff. Well done !

We was regular guest here until today had a table booked for 5.30pm turned up 5.20pm table wasn't ready which was fine so got a drink 25 mins later table was ready they sat us down then after 5 mins came over and said they have ran out off Sunday dinners and to our surprise she told us that they havnt had Sunday roast for past hour but never wanted to inform us that this was not available we travelled 40 mins to go here and they had us waiting for 30 mins and took money for drinks knowing they didn't have any Sunday roast available All we got of one staff member when we said how come they wouldn't inform us when we arrived was o am sorry I will inform my manager Absolutely disappointed with this pub never again will I go back

Been twice now for the Sunday dinner and the food is lovely! Really dog friendly which I love and think is brilliant for a pub that does food to not only be dog friendly (as in actually allows them inside!) but also really accepting and accommodating of dogs too. My family also had the fish and chips, burger and steak frites all loved their food and would come back again.

Beer prices have risen dramatically and it's now VERY expensive for a pint

Made to feel welcome and staff accommodated us with no fuss as we had not pre booked. Huge outdoor TV screen and loads of outdoor seating and it would be my dead cert prediction this is booming in the summer with something for all the family. A real nice roast Sunday dinner for the 2 of us ending our nice Sunday drive and totally chanced upon this gem so we will certainly be coming back. I think it would be good for a drive in movie night too with that huge TV screen outside.

Food was ok but expensive. Sat near the open fire which was unfortunately a bit smokey. Staff were pleasant.

Me and my wife had an amazing date night! We were blown away by the portion of fish and chips, curry sauce was a hidden extra but WELL worth it. Dessert was a masterpiece, chocolate brownie with toffee ice cream was sweet and delicious, hit the spot for me. The wife had the biscoff cheese cake with ice cream/biscoff dusted over.. fair to say, I stole a few bites. Lovely warm fireplace with logs burning 🥵 jackets off for a sit down and chat. Met a brilliant, kind couple who similarly came for a date night. Recommended for sure! The one off put was towards the end as we were approaching the 2 hour mark, one staff member is a little pushy for "more drinks" and "anything else" - made it feel like a push out the door. Other than that, it's a brilliant place, worth my money any day, you won't be disappointed with the quality.

I love this place such a nice environment. Very cosy inside and has a great beer garden for the summer. Dog friendly inside and outside. Serves the best roast every Sunday!

I absolutely love this place, its literally me fave place ever 🥰– without a doubt, it serves the best roast dinner around. I travel over the water under the tunnel to come here. I try visit nearly every Sunday, or whenever. It’s like my second home; the place is so cozy with a real fireplace. The outdoor seating is lovely in the summer, has a bar and a big telly outside. I’ve watched England games here when every table was taken people just stood to come here, the atmosphere was fun. One of my favourite parts is that they welcome dogs. They even have dog bowls and can serve food for dogs to eat too! Every dish here is delicious – you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. And looks like the photos. I can’t forget about the chocolate fudge brownie – it’s literally the best brownie I’ve ever had. It melts in your mouth.

I am pleased to be be able to give a five star review for once!! We had fish and chips at lunchtime and it was the best we have had in a long time. The fish was fresh and in a lovely batter, the chips were obviously hand made and tasted like we used to get off the fish & chip van when we ate them in newspaper....gorgeous!! The staff were lovely and also the food arrived freshly cooked and within 10mins. Well done The Farmers......other pubs take note!!

A lovely little pub, and the food was delicious, I had the farmers pie of the day, (high was steak and ale), it was very juicy though I was happy for the extra gravy. The staff were really friendly, though no one asked us if we needed any condiments when we got our dishes.

Me, my fiancé, baby and dog arrived late on New Year’s Eve. We were greeted with smiles and despite the kitchen closing soon the staff were happy to give us a table. The food was excellent quality and tasty, the service was very attentive and all staff members were really nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend!

We were on our way to Thornton hough and stopped for a coffee. Theùu atmosphere was really nice, staff lovely and helpful. We will be going again for a meal. Very impressed. HJ

First and last visit to The Farmers Arms as £20 for Sunday roast was a let down & way over priced. Only two veg , potato's were dry inside and the beef was tough so much so we asked for refund for one meal. Would not recommend

We came here as a couple with dog twice in the past few days, both occasions we were made to feel welcome. A very cosy pub with an open fire. Second visit we came for food and asked for a quiet area because of dog which was no problem. Overall the food was perfect and the puddings were also beautiful.

Had a meal for engagement yesterday the staff came over with complimentary bubbles for the couple 👌everybody enjoyed their meals but if I had to point one out it would be the Scotch egg and Black pudding 💥forget what you know of Scotch eggs I've visited many a restaurant and had this the nearest to this was in York but this was truly scrumptious your taste buds will explode,well done and thank you x

Went to farmers arms for roast today with family . We all ordered roast beef (pink) and it was the best roast we have had in ages! 🤤 Service was equally good. Will definitely come back!

What a great place. Id hadn't been before last weelend and i loved e vry minite of. The place was busy but there was a lovely atmosphere in there. It almost felt like christmas there were lots of families dining together. Couples with their dogs sat patiently under the table waiting for something to drop. Staff were attentive they all greeted us with a smile. Food was excellent. I had the lamb dinner. It was really good 10 out of 10 so good that I could of eaten it again. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute so I've booked again for my daughters birthday. :)

We eat here often I’ve never had a bad meal. Food is brilliant during the week and on a Sunday. Great service, lovely staff and lovely and cosy inside. I think we’ve had most things off menu now and it’s always amazing. ♥️

Sunday roast (chicken) was spoiled by an overpowering thick dark brown gravy. Very limited choice of deserts too. Can't say I'll be rushing back

Delicious food. Lots of choice on the menu. Large outdoor seating area with a good outdoor playground area for children.

Really disappointed. The pub looks smart on the inside and I had high hopes for my meal, but the menu was quite limited, the food was quite frankly poor. My burger was similar to a burger you'd find in a burger van and not what I should find a pub that charges £16.50 for the privilege. The fries that were served with the burger also tasted as if they'd been cooked in old oil. My stomach feels off after eating here too.ke Pip The service was also snotty at best. Not once was I asked if everything was ok with my meal and I'd have told them the issues above if I was asked. There's plenty of great alternatives nearby. My advice would be to go to these establishments instead.

It's been a while since I visited here but the Farmers has been spruced up and it looks great. It's very welcoming as soon as you step foot in there and food and drink isn't too expensive either. I really like thos place.

Service was excellent,but food very disappointing,was cold , fish was greasy and chips over cooked or reheated ,for price was terrible.have eaten here several times and never been any issues .They did say there'd be a wait as having issues with ovens ,so that may have been problem, which didn't say till once sat down and made order .

Really disappointed. We chose to eat at the farmers arms because they have a decent park for the kids. We have a two year old so wanted to stay close to the park to keep an eye on her. We picked a table and I went in to get menus. I was told they only serve the tables under the awning and to order food at the inside bar and drinks from the outside bar. My wife and I picked our food and back in I went to order. I was then told by the lady behind the bar that I had to go and find a server to place my order with. I don’t know if she was able to take my order on the till behind the bar or not, but the other till was 10 foot away and there were no customers waiting at the bar (if it had been busy, I totally understand not being able to leave her post). So I went out to find someone and could t, so ended up coming back in and gave my order to a waitress who’d arrived. She was very pleasant and checked for allergies etc. my wife order drinks from the outside bar as instructed, but had to go back inside to order a cup of tea. She gave up on they and shared my drink. The food arrived quickly and and was a really tasty, although not the cheapest (we just got starters and split a side because of the cost) We took it near the park, so we could keep an eye on the kids. As we’re we’re finishing the waitress who told me to order at the bar came over and told us we couldn’t eat at that table and we had to relocate. I felt a little bit like I was getting a slap on the legs. I explained that we wanted to stay near our kids in the park because I’d already escorted one child back to her mum who fell down the slide and was in tears. Her mum had had to sit soar away that she’d missed it. If only there had been some seat right next to the park, for people to be close. Anyway, we wrapped up the rest of the food and left to go to a bear park. Pros Good quality food Food arrived quickly Has a decent park for kids Cons You can’t sit next to the park if you want to eat (still don’t know why?!) I wasn’t impressed with the tone of the waitress who came to tell us off. It just felt messy and hard work. Not the relaxing lunch we’d planned.

The menu is very limited but what they have, they do well. It is very popular anytime the sun shines, so be prepared to deal.with it being messy as the staff are run off their feet. My only complaint is their adoption of the horrible American import of the card machine always asking for a tip every time you pay for anything. Happy to leave tips for bar and waiting on staff but don't ask for an extra 20% every time I buy a round, please.

Far too expensive for a pub, used to be a great pub, but it's just a rip off now

I had seen this pub a few times and always fancied going to it. While the food was fine, to be honest I felt like we were a complete inconvenience by being there as we had children with us. I found the staff to be quite rude to be honest. We had 6 children with us with one also having special needs. When we left the table to sit outside, we heard 2 members of staff commenting on how "messy" the table was. When other than minimal typical mess that young children leave following eating a meal, the table was left tidy. For a pub that has a lovely play area outside to attract families, in my opinion they didn't particularly like kids being there. Very unfortunate as I had wanted to go to this pub for a while.

Only came here for a drink so can't comment on the food. The menu looked good though and the place was very busy. There is an outside play area for children and a huge tv screen to watch the football. Lots of tables outside and inside but parking is restricted and lots of cars were parked on the road.

Far too much olive oil for me. I'll put it down to my choice from the menu and experience. It was the England match so absolutely heaving. Massive outside TV. Picnic benches(on grass). Children's play area. Multi activity play structure

Lovely place, with a great menu and nice friendly staff. I really enjoyed my food. However, I wouldn't go again as I didnt realise it was dog friendly, and I am a little anxious around dogs. A family came and sat next to me with a huge dog which was barking and aggressive towards other dogs that walked past it. It caused me some anxiety that I had to walk past it to leave my table. So be mindful if you are allergic/afraid etc.. of dogs.

The food was ordered came promptly and was hot so far so good !most of what is on the menu was spice this spice that not my cup of tea so for that reason don't think it's for us

£18.50 for two drinks (pint and double gin and tonic). Outrageous.

Sunny day outside… Gad the Caesar salad asked for prawns and not chicken. Very enjoyable. Service was okay, just a few younger lads walking about aimlessly. But all in all enjoyable. Hope you get a sunny summer and Euros 24👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Parking a problem on the road.

Fab meals, spot on service, friendly staff, perfect child friendly garden, live music (background level) and a great location near a country park.

First time for food there was 7 off us not a single complaint everyone enjoyed staff were very friendly and helpful

Walk past this pub quite a lot as it's on the crossroads of three walks that I do regularly. One route goes through Roydon Park, one goes to Hoylake and the third goes to Irby. The pub has changed hands quite a few times in the past few years but the present owners seem to have done a very good job on the interior. They seem to have expanded on the garden and have done a lot of work on the enormous area and have now fitted quite a few benches outside to attract families. It does get packed on Summer weekends and it can then be a bit difficult to get a parking space. Anyway we were on our way to Hoylake and stopped off for lunch. I tried the Grilled chicken kebab and it was excellent. Unfortunately they no longer seem to stock any real ales so had the pale ale instead, it wasn't too bad at all.

Since the extensive refurb this place is much better. The new layout is great, loads of attentive staff and a great choice of beers, spirits and wines. The new beer garden has an outside bar also, with a huge screen showing the important games. Decent menu for eating inside, or outside when the weather is clement. One of the best pubs in the Wirral now. Family & dog friendly.

Hadn’t been in for a while, apparently 1 year anniversary under new ownership. Truly disappointing. Sat down at 1:00. 20 mins to get a drink. Self service the whole way through. Sauces, other drinks Food took over an hour and 15 mins…. was very average. 150£ for seven isn’t too bad . Although 4 were kids . I think it’s for a drink or 2 outside and that’s it. Best of luck

What a shame…..Truly disappointed Missing drinks from an order which I wish had turned up….as the food was drowned in salt. Way over the top. I would have loved to add some of my own rather than it done for me. Service was average. With such a small menu I was also expecting that my first choice of steak was sold out at lunch time on a weekend. All of the others in my party weren’t exactly over the moon with there food either. Average food at over inflated prices. And a service charge included. Which was 10% so imagine the staff are on minimum wage, very American idea which I don’t like. Desert wasn’t much better. Eaton mess should have meringues in it. If we wanted strawberry and cream then we would have ordered it. There is far better locally for a better price, trust me I live local. Just haven’t been here for a long time. We all had different and couldn’t really recommend anything on the menu. Oooh I had a cup of black coffee. That was good. Sorry Farmers poor show.

AVOID GOING FOR JOBS WITH THESE!!! They basically use you for free work and say its a "trial shift" then never call you back. Not only this but during my "trial shift" i noticed that the staff area which is also where the fridges and freezers where were filthy and unsafe, there was boxes unsafely stacked and an office chair that looked as if it had just been thrown on a table. The other staff there are very unwelcoming and do not make any effort at all to make you feel comfortable or talk to you. The lady (Jess) that interviewed me acted like i didnt even exist when i went in for my trial shift i just about got a "hello" out of her. I personally think it was already overstaffed so they are literally just using people for free work and calling them "trial shifts" there was at least 12 members of staff on and another girl on a "trial shift" and the majority of staff on were standong around with nothing to do. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Dantastic refurb and upgrade to this lovely pub. Atmosphere and food excellent. Would 100% recommend it. Can't wait for summer.

So happy to visit the Farmers Arms twice this week and both times have had a lovely meal. Food very tasty, freshly cooked with fresh and tasty vegetables. Staff are very pleasant and attentive. Lovely atmosphere in the pub, service excellent. At long last the Farmers is back where it should be as a lovely country pub.

A lovely pub to walk into, with a nice fire, but food was stodgy. Fish batter uncooked inside and beef tagliatelle sauce was too rich, thick and sweet. Starters were nice but not the mains. Expensive for what it was.

First time going here. Didn't have food so no rating on this visit however the menu looked good and the food that was going past looked very nice. Fish & chips looked huge. Great atmosphere inside with a guitarist playing (nice touch) would recommend going here if you're out for a walk in Roydon Park. I would imagine this place being very busy during the summer time but plenty of space outside with benches and an outside bar.

We could not recommend the food and service here enough. There were 5 of us for lunch on a busy Saturday and every meal was hot, well presented and delicious. In addition, the service and atmosphere was great. Since Covid, we have struggled to find somewhere that has been such a positive experience but this was brilliant.

I've been coming here for 15+ years, it has undergone a few changes of ownership in that time. But I can happily say that the current owners are doing a great job. The staff are attentive and helpful, the food is great and priced appropriately. The live music today (I never got his name but it was a guy doing busking style tunes) was great and really fit the atmosphere. We had two dogs with us and the staff were very accommodating. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely return.

Breaded prawns and Korean Chicken to start - both good. The mains, particularly the steak and pie, were even better - hats off to the chef(s). I’d maybe come back for the food! However, even though a largely empty restaurant, pretty poor service! Multiple times we had to track down a staff member (and interrupt one guy from his phone) to simply put water on the table never mind place an actual drinks order. Also, for the ‘gent’ with a beanie and on his phone, I’m aware we can order at the bar thanks - but not really the right reaction when I’ve had to track you down to order something in a restaurant with table service after waiting for someone to appear. Poor and no excuse. Farmers arms and the food specifically deserves better.

So lovely to return to an old haunt and not be disappointed. Lovely meal, excellent service and decor beautiful. Complete with a roaring fire on a chilly, wet afternoon.

18 in our family group for xmas meal at the Farmers Arms Frankby this afternoon. They were very busy but service and food were 1st class. All front of house staff were on the ball, Kitchen turned out 18 meals perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned in one hit. We have had, without question the best family get together meal ever

Very welcoming, food was excellent and generous portions. Good vegetarian choices for my mum, she didnt have to choose a vegan dish which was a bonus.

Choice seems limited and very fancy. Not much choice for vegans for such an expensive pub. Lovely cosy wood fire in the winter.
