Starter was good (garlic bread/ hummus) - that’s the 1 and only star I have given this restaurant rating! Roast dinner was probably up there with the worst I’ve ever had! Didn’t help with the fact that it was left on the pass for 20 mins or more, obviously forgotten about due to ordering and being served a starter! Shocking for the chef to let it go out really after this length of time! - bullet hard roast potatoes, dry chicken, limp salad, cracker-like Yorkshire puddings, the list goes on …. And NO there is no disguising the flavours of the roast dinner with the over reduced gravy and WHATEVER paxo mix concoction was going on in the stuffed chicken?? (Couldn’t quite work out by the smell what it was supposed to be - certainly no sausage meat in there)?? And also a word of advice - NO kid likes fresh tomato period! - (especially on their pizza, underneath the cheese, that you have to scrap off to get rid of hence losing the complete concept of what a pizza is supposed to be)! The lady behind the bar did change my first roast dinner without any qualm although I wished I had just got a refund the first time round as I didn’t eat the second attempt of the roast dinner. No-one approached the table to check if everything was OK with our meals and the fact that you had to pay before receiving your meal is always a put-off as your more likely to not request a refund for poor food/ service (which in this case we did not) Safe to safe will not be returning!

We visited for Sunday lunch. A bit disappointing really as the ambience comprised what we usually consider to be suicide music 🎶.. The Vegan option of Wellington was soaked in heavy so was more like a sloppy slipper.. Not sure what the filling was but it was a bit like a wet mashed sweet potato. Potatoes were were very nice, I did expect slightly more than 1/4 of a carrot 🥕.. So salt we won't be returning...

Went for Sunday lunch, was met with melancholy downbeat music 🎶 very depressing made worse by being on repeat! Dogs allowed in the restaurant (pub side ok, but come on not the restaurant)!! Right next to us.. I had the vegan Sunday Wellington. The Wellington was soaked in gravy so pastry was soggy, and the [unknown] filling taasted like watery mashed sweet potato and nothing else. The roast potatoes and savoy cabbage were delicious but would have liked more than 1/4 of a carrot in the Veg!! Sadly we'll not be returning.

The four of us had an excellent lunch in the conservatory room with a fine view of the garden. Two of us had the beef and mushroom pie which was delicious. The other two had the slow cooked pork belly which was received equally well. The helpings were generous and only two of us were able to find room for dessert (albeit shared) which was pronounced very yummy. Overall very very good pub food with prompt and friendly service. We shall return.

Lovely pub. Staff friendly and obliging. Ample parking. Newly updated bar area with cosy seating and a separate pool table/darts room. Garden is fantastic for families due to it's generous size and play area. A patio seating area is far enough away from the play area for adults without children wanting a quieter visit. They often have quality live music outside. Food is great too, good portion sizes, a varied menu including kids options and it's far from boring. The loaded chips with pulled pork and gravy are divine! They also serve Latchetts Farm Gelato. Yum.

5 stars are based on the cheeseboard I had. I am very, very hard to please when it comes to cheeseboards. Many local eateries (and even abroad actually) you are promised a cheeseboard only to be handed a sorry excuse for an anaemic looking side plate. The Farmers provides a cheeseboard with strength. A generous serving of three local cheese with an appropriate amount of crackers. They do not scimp on the good stuff. I am relieved to have found an establishment worthy of calling themselves a cheeseboard provider. I also was there for an open mic night. The atmosphere was lovely, locals and staff alike were very friendly and welcoming.

The food here is always delicious. The only downside was that during our last visit (lunchtime period), every table was booked!! (good for them 👏) We weren't asked for more drinks after our first, which we would have said yes to... and we asked for a dessert menu, but they took so long to come and ask what we wanted, we gave up waiting and had dessert at home. Shame. They had plenty of staff hanging around at the bar. Still though would recommend 👌

Booked for boxing day lunchtime meal with family. All bookings done on line. Very efficient. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. The atmosphere was not particularly festive. The website led me to believe that they have Harvey's beer and guest beers. Unfortunately no Harvey's but a local from the 360 brewery which was described as a Harvey's replacement, it was nice but not as good as Harvey's. There was also a Green Hop beer on offer, but this time of year?? I tried some but was very unimpressed, it had quite an acidic taste. The menu was not overwhelming, little for the non meat eater. The food was timely and plentiful. The steak pie was large but lacking steak, mainly mushrooms and gravy and more gravy on the plate and more in the a jug. Very disappointed with the pie. All in all the Farmers did live up to the earlier reviews.

Busy pub restaurant when we went which may account for the level of service. We ordered drinks and asked for jugs of tap water. The drinks arrived reasonably promptly but we had to ask for the tap water. When the food arrived items that had been requested to be left off were present. Some items that were part of the meal were missing from some of the meals but present on others. This suggest poor control at the pass.

Let me start by saying the service and staff were all lovely, but the food was not. I don't know how old that photo of the red Thai curry is but that was not what I received. I shall break down the ingredients of the sauce. 1. Passata 2. Cream 3. Mushroom 4. Celery 5. Nothing else A red Thai curry that does not make. There were no spices (literally no spices), no sweet, no sour, no heat, no coriander, no coconut milk. It was a dodgy pasta sauce at best. It came with the choice of chicken or prawn, but what it really came with was a deep fried scampi thing, that neither tasted like prawn or had the texture of prawn. My kids both ordered the pizza which was obviously a frozen pizza. The base was like an inch thick farley's rusk. Needless to say they hardly had any, which for two kids who love pizza, is really saying something! One pizza was 18 pounds. I was genuinely shocked. I'm used to London prices, but I'm also used to those prices coming with edible food.

Nice pub but the food seems a bit hit and miss. Three plates we had which had side salads on them, the salad was not fresh at all, whole bits of it were black and it had not been washed, very gritty with bit of dirt in it. If you are going to put a side salad on a plate at least make sure its fresh and clean, I know a lot of people won't eat it but we would have had it bee edible.

This place was dirty, table were sticky, window area was full of dead flies and the garden was full of rubbish. We ordered over valued pie with sides, The pie crust was hard and the carrot was not cooked at all, the chef was about 17 years of age and didn't even come over to apologies. When we raised the issue the bar person, she simply said she would inform the chef. He is really going to learn from that!! go to the sloop or the snowdrop food is much better and the prices are in par, and you get a better service.

We went here on the spur of the moment for a light lunch on a wet and cold day. After establishing that we hadn’t booked! we were seated in the dining room. A large and nicely presented open space with just a few of the many tables occupied. It was rather chilly and inhospitable. Where was a welcoming fire and perhaps some incidental music? Not a great start. We ordered a Coke, a small glass of wine and a starter each. I think we were expected to eat more than just a starter. That aside we had the fish cake with some green leaves, which was ok but nothing to excite the taste buds and pork balls with a dipping sauce. Oh dear. How can a chef get that so wrong. Dried up bits of pork mince shaped into a croquet, probably reheated in a microwave and devoid of any taste apart from a distant background of cumin. When the dipping sauce, mayonnaise etc ran out so did my desire to finish them. Thirty pounds poorer, we left. I won’t be returning.
