As usual.. pav was amazing even when having to deal with horrible other customers. Another worker was treated horribly also but he also remained chirpy happy and helpful to everyone else even the ones who were disrespectful to him that he served. The staff here are so lovely and deserve to he treated with respect

Came for brunch with the girls the other weekend. Had such a lovely time, the faraday is a great spot to have a fun catch up with a few drinkies. Food was good and the staff couldn’t have been nicer and more willing to help. Robbo was especially great, I spilled my drink (I think the bubbles went to my head too quick) and he was on hand to clear up the mess and fill up my glass again with a smile and a bit of cheeky banter. Thanks again faraday team, you guys never disappoint!

What a find! Had our gym Christmas party upstairs in the private area - staff were so accommodating. Room was fantastic even had little fairy lights to make it festive . Really good venue.

Had a brunch today, food was great and so was the service. Our host Robbo was serving us in a timely manner and supported us with our allergies and sensitives (gluten free). He always had a smile on his face and provided good banter.

Ash was very attentive, made sure we were well looked after and made sure we had a great time. Our food was delivered very soon into our brunch so gave us plenty of time to enjoy our experience

Have always loved this place and have been going for a few years but I have had the most awful experience attending here after lockdown.The doorman was completely unprofessional, shouting on the phone to someone that seemed to be his girlfriend, arguing and swearing whilst we were patiently waiting in the queue. He then seemed to take his anger out on us aggressively asking us if we have a booking and telling us we were lying.Other members of security accused us of mixing tables and threatened one of my female friends saying ‘don’t make me touch you’. Have always loved this place but they seem to have a massive issue with allowing vile behaviour from their workers and employing the wrong people.I am glad to see other reviews saying the same.

Went there last week and had a great time so impressed with the staff there a lively blonde girl called sash welcomed me with all the info and got us settled. We then order the bigger breakfasts there and they were amazing so fresh but everything you would want in a breakfast. Thoroughly recommend. 5 out of 5

Had amazing food from Heather and Tyler, would 100% recommend both the vegan hot dog (incredible) and the vegan mac and cheese (if you can, make sure its with mozzarella) its the best pub food I've had in a very very long while, was shown to the table by Pav, who was lovely and welcoming, and served by the lovely Sacha who was both friendly and amazing to have a laugh with, would completely recommend, come here all the time, great place and a fantastic local

always choose to visit here when we have a night off to grab some street style food and have a drink! they have slushies, infusions, craft beers and SO many spirits to choose from! They also do amazing sharer trays if you want a little bit of everything... kitchen team are so hard working. Tyler, Heather and Ash are so safe and we always feel so happy with our food. Great night / day out for an amazing and different venue! 5 stars!

Wow. What a horrible doorman. I literally walked up to the door and guy with no badge or uniform looks at me straight in the face and says 'what! you got a booking fam?' I said yes politely, his response was 'shut up fam no you don't, don't lie to me, what's your name?!'.I showed him my phone which had a booking enquiry, with a booking reference. He didn't even check it or care what so ever. Just said, 'no you don't fam get lost!'. It was like they found this guy from a garbage truck and put him there at the door.Never have I ever seen such a guy working there with such attitude towards a paying customer. I'm surprised he's even allowed to be working there. He then took me inside to show me to the manager. She basically laughed, didn't say anything and then doorman chucked me out and said 'there you go fam, your a liar! get lost'. They didn't bother explaining the situation, or read my confirmation email which I still have! I had a full booking reference and enquiry form emailed from them, but apparently it was not on their system. What a joke of a company and an embarrassment of staff.How on earth has that doorman been employed? No customer service, welcoming or greeting. No uniform, no badge, nothing. Just a guy wearing a mask standing there shouting calling me a liar? Good riddance!

Lovely staff great service but terrible food which lets the side down totally! Cheap and nasty burgers you would get a better burger at Mac Donald’s at a fraction of the price ‼️. Sadly the fries were not much better you would get as good in Mac Donald’s for a few ££ ‼️. I noticed they stopped using Heinz sachets and gone over to a cheaper catering supplier brakebrothers that supply nursing homes and schools! . The burgers used to be really good here but the burgers have been changed as they not good any more . Shame as the service and drinks were good but let down by very bad food plus at £54 for 4 adults it wasn’t cheap .

Following leaving the venue after very average service and below average food a bouncer pushed a young lady of about 20 into the gutter on the street. An awful thing to witness at the end of what had been quite a pleasant evening. I hope she’s okay.

Thank you Faraday, just had a great meal this afternoon. From start to finish the whole experience was 10/10.We were immediately greeted with friendly efficiency and necessary Covid rules were thorough and reassuring. Service was speedy and I must say it was the best pint I have had for ages and ice cold. I had my first trip to the faraday a few days ago with friends and will definitely be returning again. The food was much better than expected and reasonably priced. I didn’t realise at the time that we had arranged to go on the bingo night which turned out to be a brilliant laugh and we won the best two prizes which definitely ended the night on an even higher note. Special thanks to Ash and Pav who were our two amazing waiters who were helpful, witty and just brilliant staff members. Would definitely recommend coming here.

I had booked a table at the Faraday for 6pm. I arrived promptly to which I was told by the front of house member of staff that I could only sit in on the top floor - despite there being multiple free tables downstairs as well as in the outside area (reserved for potential walk ins he explained). After asking if we could sit outside, he was abrupt and rude saying that bookings are only able to sit upstairs. We explained we were going to go somewhere else as we thought this was uncompromisable- to which he told us to “f*** off then”. Behaviour like this from your own staff is impeccably rude, I will NEVER be returning to a place with such a vile person in charge showing such arrogance acting as if he can treat others as he pleases and get away with it.

Ive been coming to the Faraday for years now and I absolutely love it. Great beers, great food and great events. And the staff really make it an incredible exoerience. What a team! I think they're fantastic. Except Dean. I hate Dean.

Me and a few friends went to the faradays for a catch up and food and will definitely be attending again!its all I go on about!!! the drinks are great the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was so tasty!yes it's a little pricey but what do you expect great atmosphere, great portion sizes and great customer service! During a visit from NZ after living in West Ewell it was one of the best pubs we had visited. The beer service and atmosphere was good also.it was a bonus to have a meal in the garden keep up the good work.

The Faraday is the best pub in Epsom, great food and ever changing selection of craft beers. Daily offers such as Wing Wednesday 25p/wing all day. Speed Quiz on Sundays where you have to use your smartphone. Friendly staff and a loyalty scheme that works.

Currently here on 14th September 2019. Dead as a door nail. I asked for the manager to say there is a que outside with my one friend outside can she let more people in. She was THE RUDEST person I have ever met. Told me I was wasting her time and not to tell her how to run her ‘business’ and walked off before I finished. If you knew how to run a business the bar would not be so dead on a Saturday night. It’s called customer service and I suggest you train your staff and ‘managers’ to be a bit more respectful to their customers. My boyfriend was told not to wear his hat (understandable) but his father was allowed to wear his hat but as long as it was backwards. TRAIN YOUR STAFF!!!!. Actually hire people older than older 12 years old to run your pub thanks.

Unpleasant experience. Very rude staff behind bar especially barman with beard. Asked for lemon and was given a slice of lime from a plate with his hands. Vile place will not be returning.

First ever visit on friend's recommendation - it didn't disappoint.The wings were sublime. The ghost chilli sauce was spiced but not too hot. The katsu curry sauce was exquisite. The wings were hot and crispy and tasty, and at 25p each, unbelievable value. We also got a tray sharing platter which was tasty - excellent crunchy onion rings.The ambience is relaxed with attentive, polite staff.The interior is large with a choice of retro games, both digital and of the old-school board game variety.There is also a good sized gardenVery impressed. Three visits here with my daughter so far - the venue we've been looking for, for as long as I can remember. Child-friendly but showing football, and with great and reasonably-priced food options, and extremely accommodating staff in a perfect environment. Please open a branch in the new development at Thurrock Lakeside - you'd smash it there!

Visited the Faraday a few times - really nice pub with a good atmosphere and great outdoor seating area. Great food choices but overpriced considering the very small portion sizes!

Visited bournemouths version of here last year so was looking forward to going but the service was so slow due to 1 person being behind the bar taking orders despite no less than 12 people at the bar at a time. Management need to sort this issue out as it completely ruins such a lovely place with brilliant options for vegans.

Josh is the worst manager, he banned me and my karaoke friends FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER Its SUICIDE!

Visited with a friend the staff were friendly enough but the prices were premium for a mediocre venue this was my 12th visit and iv never seen more than 7 or 8 people in the place , the food was ok but served on a metal try much like what I imagine prison inmates eat on .

Stopped off here Sunday lunchtime to watch the football. First bit of bad news was there was no Doombar on tap. Then we made the big mistake of ordering food. Ten pounds for three measly chicken goujons and a handful of skinny fries on a metal tray. See photo. It was pathetic. Never again. Lots of vegan stuff on menu but could I find a decent meal of meat and two veg? No. Whatever happened to the Sunday Roast?

This is a busy pub with a young vibe. It has a great range of beers, ales, wines and cocktails. Ideal way to kick-start a weekend.

Very pleasant friendly barman. Order arrived quickly cooked very well. We had vegetarian option of flat mushroom in a bun with egg and sweet potato fries it was delicious. We saw that there were retro games on offer which was unusual. Nice ambience and great little garden.

A very family friendly pub. We took our baby grandson there many times when we visited Epsom. The atmosphere is great - low level music. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The food is varied and well presented at a reasonable price. Excellent value for money.

Went to watch the first autumn rugby international having seen advertising. Great large screen and atmosphere large audience only spoilt by the sound of the commentary being too low. Requests to turn up the volume which was only slightly increased.

Awful. Treated like a criminal. All males entering in the evenings are treated like cattle, searched more so than those entering the USA with a suicide vest. Bouncers think they are gods gift. Pricey. Avoid at all costs

We popped in for a drink and sharing platter on a Friday night. We were there by 6.30pm so not too busy at that point. Food arrived quickly and was good and piping hot. We only stayed until about 8pm and the pub was filling up by then. Only issue for us was that it is very noisy and we couldn’t hear each other speak. We would return but early evening or lunchtime.

Popped in for a lunchtime light meal and enjoyed looking at all the Hallowe'en decor. Great fun. Food was excellent and service friendly. Being a pair of old gits, we enjoyed the younger vibe in there.

Spoilt by an offensive bouncer who treats any middle aged people at the Faraday like naughty school children , Ive not been bared myself but most of my friends also in their 40s and 50 s have been , one has even received violent threats . What I found most irritating is that as soon as I have bought my last drink after last orders I am repeatedly asked to leave given 0 minutes drinking up time , The strange fact is that many people have complained to the management but they continue to employ this bouncer.....so my opinion is that he s probably only doing what management have told him to do

If you are Male, prepare to be inappropriately groped, illegally searched in the toilets, and have your wallet taken from you for ‘routine’ searches. Avoid this place like the plague.

My friend and I go to this bar quiet regularly. On Wednesdays, we often go for the wings. Yesterday was Wednesday but to our shock, we were not allowed to be served. To be more specific, it was my friend that was not permitted. My friend who works in construction was wearing canvas style work pants. I want to point out that he was dropping in for a meal before going to work, as he works nights. So, work pants were clean. Yes, a few permanent smudges but they were work pants. In all honesty, they were not covered in grime as he was going to work, not from.

Excellent beers and hamburgers. We tried different types of beers and all tasted good. The hamburger was very good, but I didn't like very much the fries.

A group of friends and I visited the Faraday to watch the England vs Croatia semi final of the World Cup. We had previously tried to book a table online with them when a female rang asking for £10 deposit per person for the table booking as it was going to be a busy night. Completely get that and she was extremely friendly also. We booked the table and paid over the phone. We arrived at 5.40 and the que was out of the door to get in. We asked the bouncer if we had booked and paid for a table if we can go straight in to which he said no get to the back of the que. I understand, really busy night for the Faraday staff but surely a double que would of been fairer to all the people who had pre booked and paid for a table? Surely that's the whole point of it. A que to ensure people who have already given your establishment money get in swiftly would be better instead of lining everyone up together. We got in after half an hour wait and then had another half an hour que at the bar. The bar staff were all lovely but very under pressure. I understand there was a bar in the back garden and the main bar, both had ques the same wait time. As an ex manager of a public house I don't understand why there was only four members of staff on such a large main bar and other in the garden? Surely for such a busy night you get all your staff on one bar to serve as quickly as possible. What was even more disappointing was that the manager (tall male, dark hair and beard) came behind the bar whilst I was waiting but instead of helping his staff who were having abuse thrown at them by everyone waiting, he came behind the bar and nudged his staff out of the way even knocking one poor guy into the back of the bar and then left to have another gossip with the security guys at the front. We could see that the que was still large by kick off and they stopped letting people in for around ten minutes. People who had also paid for tables got told they weren't allowed in so were now asking for refunds to which the manager was being his cocky self and reluctantly so giving them back. £5 entry £10 booking fee (redeemable at bar) for a huge wait, and an arrogant manager delegating who can and can't come in. We seen him let his friends and the doormans friends in and not people who actually pre booked! Shocking behaviour from him and going by the reply to other reviews on here from him he is obviously unpleasant. I feel sorry for his lovely staff who work under him. Maybe the pub chain should change who they have in charge of that place as the only bad reviews seem to be from his arrogance and lack of organisation.

We had a quiet lunch after the Derby and visiting the Farmers Market today. Very quiet for a Sunday. Prompt service and friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend this pub. However would suggest that you be aware that they appear to do childrens parties on Saturday day time.e so can be very noisy with children.

Our night and day at the Derby was completely ruined by the door/security staff at this bar. My boyfriend was pulled out the front and searched in front of everyone.You said he had been in a toilet with another male he had never ever seen before! He hadn’t even been in to the toilets!- check your CCTV. You then searched him to find nothing. Whilst your other staff told me ‘are you having a good night love , your pupils look very big’ which was completely false and incredibly rude to somebody who is just having a night out with friends. I would not be writing this if we had been anywhere near any drugs. They had absolutely no evidence or reason to search my partner or speak to me as they did. We have been here before but we will never again be returning. Do not go unless you like giving money to places who bully and accuse. Disgusted by your staffs behaviour. Oh and then we realise my phone is missing which was in his top shirt pocket when he was full body searched then oh turns up at 2am and apparently a door man found it... strange??!!

The Faraday keeps re-inventing itself and brightening up its appearance and food offer for a quick meal and drink before going to the cinema. would not go anywhere else.

My friends and I went there last night for a party.. had booked a table upstairs and were ready for a great night of food and fun.

Security spent 15 minutes staring at me as I tried to text my friends that I wasn't allowed inside due to my clothing. Eventually it looked like they wanted to escort me away from the Faraday for "loitering" and I left as this is not what I wanted to deal with on a Friday night.

Been going to the Faraday in all its guises for some years. The new style works for a range of age groups. Don't feel out of place with the young office workers on a Friday while we have a pre-cinema drink and food. Nicely presented pub grub. Great ambience.

This is a lovely pub and is very relaxing, i always come here for a drink before heading to cinema or out to dinner, the staff are friendly and get to know you, sometimes when it is busy the staff handle it well and are very proactive in their approach. I have been coming here since it opened and continue to do so.

My friend was waiting at the bar for me and she had ordered herself a drink. I came in at around half past 7 and stood by her at the bar, the lady behind the bar asked to see my ID even though I hadn’t ordered anything and she said you’ll have to leave which was fine considering I was driving and didn’t intend to drink at all anyway, it was our colleagues leaving do and was a social event. 20 seconds later someone else comes up behind me taps me on the shoulder and asked for my ID again. I said I don’t have it and I’m leaving anyway, again he repeated even after I already said “you’ll have to leave if you don’t have any ID” at this point I felt harassed to get out even though it was only 7:30 which was a bit ridiculous and considering I never asked for a drink anyway. I told my friend to wait inside and our other friends would be with her soon. She waited by the door for everyone else to arrive and 5 minutes later someone comes over to her saying she’s not allowed to stand by the door with a drink(... for what reason?) He asks for her ID (which shows she is 18) takes a picture of it, takes her drink off her and kicks her out.

Why is there a constant buzzing noise in the beer garden! It's driving me insane. Also fix the locks in the women's bathrooms please. Apart from these issues it's absolutely wonderful.

I'd say The Faraday is somewhere between 3-4 stars but I'm happy to give the benefit of the doubt. The drink selection is exceptional and unrivaled in Epsom, with a genuine rotation and an interesting cocktail/tin line. The atmosphere is very unique and as others have stated does feel like an independent for its retro-arcade character. Main issue is the price; £6.50 for a tin is inflated and unfortunately I imagine deters a lot of repeat custom, myself included. It can also get very busy, and importantly the music is incrimentally too loud which in combo with the number of people does make it very difficult to hear people speaking to you. For a bar, the noise deters too much towards that of a club, when it is by structure designed for people to sit and chat.

Even ' oldies ' can recognise and appreciate the qualities that this pub has to offer. True, we visit during the daytime where we find friendly service, good value food options and the funky décor most enjoyable. As a popular option in the evening it...

Went for a an evening works meal with colleagues, experience was horrid. Ambience uninviting, service was barely adequate & cost was disproportionately expensive. The food itself was really bad. I ordered a vegan option & it came fairly quickly which is not a good sign as it suggests a ready made meal. & so it proved to be. Plates etc I guess was supposed to be industrial chic but just looked cheap. Little taste, cardboard texture, tepid temperature tiny portions.

We stopped here for a drink recently , strange smell in the bar , they ran out of red wine , beer garden is in a carpark with the bins

Lots of people packed in, not much room to move.Staff very friendly, nothing is too much trouble.Toilets are upstairs which is always off putting! Toilets are also disgusting completely filthy and need a complete bleaching! In fact I would rather use the toilets in macdonalds round the corner ! All in all a good night was had!!

This is a pretty good pub with a good selection of beers and good food so I would love to give it a good rating. Only problem is their air con system!! If you don't mind freezing and having to keep your coat on then you'll be fine. This is about the 4th time we have been here and been cold. Its warmer outside and this is not a warm day. Several people complained last time we were here but loads of other people all sitting in their coats again today. Wish they would sort it out as we will not be back till they do ☹

On first impressions The Faraday looks cool but the drinks aren't cheap and the food is mediocre at best. Had the salt Beef reuben to eat with Sweet potato fries that were bordering on burnt. The salt beef was nice but the focacia bread was proper greasy. It's ok here and the staff were very professional but won't be coming back.

Love love love the food here and it is definitely worth a visit.But, guys, come on, £6.50 for a cocktail served in a 330ml can - I was somewhat taken aback.

We were meeting friends last night in The Faraday to celebrate a Birthday. My wife and I arrived at 20.10 and met four other members of our party at the bar having arrived a few minutes earlier. We purchased our drinks and looked for a table. At 20.15 the final two friends were refused entry to the pub as they had no ID with them. Not too shocking you might think, until you learn that we are all well in our forties! I appreciate the problem of under age drinking however none of us could be possibly mistaken for under 21! The pub has a notice outside stating that it is over 21's only, it doesn't say that you need ID any age you are. Our friends sat outside in the 'smoking area' to wait for us, as we had only just purchased a drink we bought our friends one and sat outside with them with the intention of leaving after that drink. This was not acceptable as far as the bouncer was concerned and he asked our friends to leave. When we said that it was our intention to leave when we had finished our drinks he told them that we had to leave straight away. He was rude and a thug! We asked why when we entered we were not asked for ID and his reply was that it was before 8pm, this was simply not the case, all our party got to the pub after 8pm. Surely common sense should prevail in a case like this? If he couldn't let them in then what would have been the problem letting them finish their drinks at a leisurely pace? We left The Faraday and went to The Assembly Rooms, also a town centre pub with bouncers on the door who welcomed us all, they could obviously see that our party including Primary school teachers, an accountant, and a midwife were not going to be a great threat!

Went on a Sunday for a relaxed meal and a couple of drinks to end a turbulent weekend. Service was great, the food was really tasty and their hot sauces are fantastic. Have been a number of times in the past and this was by far the best experience. It feels as though they are trying to appeal to the student crowd with their deals and offers and if I could roll back the years it would certainly be a spot that I would use.

Decided to try the Faraday as I am new to the area, I am currently working as a chef de partie.Me and my partner chose the pulled pork burrito and the tray 3. In my burrito was mostly salad and tortilla wrap with around 50-60 grams of pulled pork.I sent back the dish after two bites of salad and wrap refusing to eat it as it was not worth the price we paid, after sending it back a supervisor/manager came to ask about it and she explained that it was made to spec and that all the burritos came the same and the only solution was that she could get me another one with less salad in it, she refused a refund saying that was the only option.After inspecting my partners food i saw that her fries had been double fried and you could snap them in half and she refused to eat them. The manager had extreme attitude problems did not seem to care that we were not happy with the service and her only solution would be to replace the food after admitting it would come exactly the same, when we pressed about this she became more hostile towards us and we did not feel welcome so we decided to leave straight away.This is the first time i have been refused a refund after sending a full plate of food back to the kitchen and was surprised how unhelpful the staff were towards this.I WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

Fairly quick service despite being busy, extremely friendly staff, cook video games/board games, cocktails are to die for, my favourite place to go for a drink!
