The Family Pizza Company in Tendring

This was really good value pizza. We had a large pizza and a chicken wrap and chips. The food was really tasty. The staff were friendly and food was served quick.

Last time I used this company was last summer during a family get-together. We ran out of coals for the BBQ so ordered a bunch of pizzas instead. They were delivered late and were without doubt the worst pizzas I've ever had - luke warm, paper thin with barely any toppings. Absolute waste of money and will never use this company again. Its a shame because they used to be much better.

Always get great service and the food is always excellent they do a good selection of pizzas and other side dishes

Staying in a hotel rental for a few days & ordered some food online and requested a delivery. Easy to use website and a very prompt service. All the food we ordered was delicious especially the pizzas. My only criticism was the roll used for the chicken burger. The burger itself was excellent but the roll was too big for the size of the meat portion and the bread used not that great. But this was a small blip and I would still recommend this eatery to others.

Ordered two pizzas for collection, when we got them home, they were both wafer thin, should have been deep pan. Topping was extremely sparse, my ham and pineapple had one tiny piece of ham on it, and it was pretty much burnt. We phoned to complain and was told to return them for replacements, which we did. Again, the replacements were little better, and both pizzas had a horrid metallic taste. I couldn’t eat more than two slices, that’s how bad it was. Both pizzas were thrown in the garden for the gulls to eat, but the birds wouldn’t touch it either, that says it all. First and last time I ever visit this place, a 99p pizza from Aldi is far superior to this sorry excuse for a pizza.

Was impressed with the quality of the pizza kids loved it..they don't accept card over phone so would have to order online they deliver to marine naze. Arrived hot just a little squashed lol.

We ordered a couple of pizzas for dinner. £10 each for a large pizza, so many choices. It was busy so everyone knows it's a good option for dinner. Would recommend.

Always a good service and always good quality food. The problem appears to be a reduction in the pizza toppings. This, I am sorry to say, seems to be a seasonal habit. Instead of increasing the price to thee summer visitors they reduce the toppings. This doesn't detract from the fact that the food is good. Hopefully whenyhe tourists go home the portions will increase.

Price was ok, £9.95 for any pizza - large enough to share for 2 or even 3 people. But the quality wasn’t great. Little tomato sauce, a lot of cheese (really melty) - no oregano. So wouldn’t buy again

We ordered 3 large pizzas, just under £30 on one of the deals for our friends teenagers, yes the pizzas were large, too big for one person, they were not the best quality pizzas to be honest on especially on taste, disappointing.

Ordered two large pizzas and extras for my family, was told 45mins, after an hour called them to check on the progress and was told it would be another 20 minutes. When I asked why after initially telling me 45mins? Was just told they are busy and I will have to wait another 20 mins. He then said I will refund you, but we still wanted the food as had been waiting for an hour and was hungry. So said ok but please be as quick as possible as our order was placed over an hour ago, he then said forget it I will cancel the order and refund you but use someone else in the future! I have used Family pizza regularly for years but last time we ordered the pizza and chips the meal was soggy and poor. I felt I should give them another opportunity, but the way the manager dealt with the delay today was unacceptable and his attitude was terrible. I now await the refund and will never use them again. Ordered Domminos and it arrived 15mins later👍

Ordered 2 pizza's (large) for £9.99 each. Meat feast and marghareta stuffed crust. Both delish and fast. Would use again.

This place never disappoints! The pizzas are cooked beautifully and are piping hot upon arrival. The toppings taste amazing. The staff are friendly and the deliveries are always on time. We highly recommend checking them out.

Pizza is soggy due to the cheese being spread all over and covering the “toppings” making them slimy. The cheese should under the “toppings”, hence the term “toppings”. The garlic bread isn’t very nice either, not enough garlic butter. They used to be nice but not anymore.

Lovely pizza, good quality and good price. Staff were friendly and the service was quick. Kids enjoyed the pizza.

One of the best pepperoni pizzas ever. Visited today 8/8/2020 will definitely go back. The fish and chip shops in Walton chargers 10p for red sauce so I won’t be eating in them out of principle so I decided to go to this pizza place instead.

Disgusted with how they speak to you forget half my order then rude and tell me I didn't order it? Food cold and tasteless boxes all crushed, never again. over pieced and it all went in the bin!

It really saddens me to write this review and it's more about the customer service, the penny pinching and the lack of any kind of interest in their customers than the quality of their product.Recently I had surgery and within a few days, I ordered pizza for my family. I was still struggling and clicked one wrong item on a pizza which meant that my son had a pizza he could not eat.I called the company and explained what had happened. I totally accepted it was my responsibility and asked if they could do anything about it. They flatly refused. Nothing I could say would persuade them to replace it. If I wanted another pizza, I'd have to pay for it.Technically of course, they're right. What they failed to take into account is that for the last five years or so, we've been regular customers, generally ordering three or four pizzas a couple of times a month and often a single large pizza every week as well. That's a lot of business over the years. I explained this and asked if they cared about their customers. The answer they gave was that of course they care but if they gave me a replacement for free then they'd be losing out.I explained that if they wouldn't do this then they'd lose me as a customer. It's as simple as that. They still refused and as far as I'm concerned, that's it. I'll never use Family Pizza again which means that for the sake of fifteen quid, they're losing many hundreds of pounds a year in business.Interestingly, I was the person who added them to TripAdvisor back in March 2016 and I wrote a glowing review then.Since then, although the quality of the pizzas has remained good, the level of customer service and the 'value for money' has gone downhill. I don't know if they're under new management or what has happened but here are the changes I've noticed.My original review states that they do any pizza, any size for £9.99 which I said at the time is decent but supermarket pizzas are always going to be cheaper. I stand by this.Since then, they scrapped that offer and instead, they introduced a 'deal' which was any 9" pizza, a garlic bread with cheese and a 1.5lt bottle of drink for £9.99. We used this deal regularly.That £9.99 offer has changed slowly over the years. First the cheese was removed from the garlic bread and then the drink became a standard 330ml can.I can't deny that their food is still very good and their delivery times are excellent but this simple act of really not caring for their long term and loyal customers has cost them this time. We have not ordered from them since and will never order from them again.I like to support local companies but respect has to work both ways. Family Pizza neither respect or care for their customers. Shame.

visited twice during our holiday, both times food was amazing, much better than some of the big pizza companies

My family always order their pizzas from The Family Pizza Company. In actual fact we had pizza for lunch today.They are absolutely delicious. The delivery service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The pizzas are always piping hot and there is something for everyone. If you are in the area, don't miss an opportunity to try them as they are amazing.

We ventured out to frinton-on-sea on a very hot summers day and as we neared the pier we were very parched however could not find any place for even a drink at the pier. We stumbled upon the Family Pizza place opposite the fish and chip shop. There was a long queue for pizzas - someone had ordered 5! Any pizza any size for £9.99 and they substituted the mushrooms for pineapple. The pizza crust was light and fluffy usually i cant eat the crust. The base was perfectly cooked. It was a pizza to write home about. A real hidden gem we thought and we will make it a regular.

Ordered for home delivery a few times now. Food arrived hot and tasty. They have an extensive menu and delivery was fast. Walton is in a "black hole" for fast food delivery as most restaurants are in Clacton and wont deliver that farSo this company provide a good service.

Wonder why I bothered, placed our order for delivery, paid for by card, took all my details, told me it would be 45mins, 1 hour later, no PIZZA so rang an was told it was for collection, the person who took the order, was the person on the phone saying its for collection, Yet she took the order, they was then going to deliver the order that had been sitting there the last hour, said I wanted new order or refund, it arrived an I am 90% sure it had been reheated, as was not as nice when have collected, Need people who no how an what they are doing

The grandchildren were staying wanting pizza. I personally only had pizza once and didn't like it. But The Family Pizza has transformed me! We all loved it, great value and good service for delivery...

Had one of the meal deals with pizza, garlic bread and chicken wings. Just superb and fantastic delivery driver too. We will be back again! Thank you

Every single time we give this place another chance we end up on the toilet all night!! I don’t know what they do but something isn’t being stored correctly or the level of hygiene is bad!! God knows how this place is still open! Stick to asda’s freshly made pizzas

I’ve yet to have a bad take away from this establishment! Every meal has always been very nice and it’s the best take away for Pizzas and chicken meals! Always hot when delivered and they never skimp on anything!

We only came here because we were stuck in Walton due to the train problems on Monday. Stuck at the station with no hope of a train for at least another hour or two we decided to get some food & saw the billboard advertising any pizza any size for 9.99. After just a few minutes walk we found it with a few customers already. We ordered a large ham & pineapple & waited about 10 minutes. We took our piping hot pizza back to the station to continue the wait. It was delicious - very cheesy with plenty of toppings, & perfectly evenly cut ( this never happens with nationwide brands!) It also came with 2 pots of dipping sauce. Best pizza I’ve had for ages - highly recommend.

My family and i have been coming to walton for years. This pizza just gets better and better! I am a cheese fiend and foe the first time in my life I got the pizza that Ii ordered! It had not 1, but 4 double, heaped handfuls of proper grated mozzerella!!The lady on duty whose name I wrote on the pizza box, to specifically thank for her hospitality, customer service and general lovely professionalism. After accidently throwing out the box with her name on which could of been Tania, Marina, Tamira or something, anyway. I wouldnt be gicing you 5 stars on here without her. As a side note I saw she looked upset, when driving past her earlier (not stalking, am female, 3 kids!) Anyway i hope this helps. You're a kind hearted, beautiful woman. I wish you the very best for the future :)

Me and my partner always order from here and they have never disappointed us. They have the most friendliest delivery drivers. Food is always tasty. Will continue to order best pizza around.

Have many pizza and different food from here must say it's nice not mind blowing but nice I think the fact they charge on the card leaves a sour taste.

rang shop to speak to owner i was told don't know where he is i can't do anything rest of staff don't speak english .So no customer service i am local never again avoid this is a bad restaurant

Oh my word!! I don't know what they are storing incorrectly but every single time I get a pizza from here I have a really bad belly ache and the runs!! They must be not storing food right or leaving toppings to long in warm temperatures! Drive to Asda for fresh pizzas

I have used this place for years and never had an issue. Great for the family and then I find they removed burgers from the menu so I could go to their other shop and have to order in two places..... I will never use their other outlet again as it is a very poor standard and looking at the review most others would agree, I will most likely not be back here again either as my favourite item has been removed from the menu. A bi-weekly customer lost in seconds. First the cheeky debit card charges now this.... very disappointing

I have to say the food was of a good standard, but sadly the owners have decided, that there customers should pay 50 pence to use my debt card, had I not been in a rush would have used another outlet, on a £15 order this was a bit of a cheek, would not use again on principal.

the pizza we has was very nice.the cheesy garlic pizza bread was even better.only thing we could fault was the ribs.they was lovely and tender and fell of the bone however me and my partner both didn't like the sauce (that could just be our preference)if we liked the sauce they would of been amazing.would defo come back.

Was staying at Naze marine caravan site, and told thee guys delivered to reception. Phoned them up. And. Asked about deals. Was told of a double deal for £15.when arrived and got menu found fhedrewas another deal for a pound more.where we could have got another pizzaand wedges. The pizzas themselves were good. Service was quick, and phoned to say ldaving shop, giving you time to walk to reception. However, the garlic pizza bread was rock hrd and inedible. In fact we used it to firm up underneath the decking, were a slate had come loose,and was wobbly,lasted well for rdst of stay.

Finally a pizza that gets delivered on time and tastes great! Have had two orders to date and will continue to frequent. If you haven't tried this place yet, I highly recommend ordering the thin crust 14" for £9.99 (any topping). And this review comes from the "Worst customer in Frinton" according to one restaurant owner after I left critical comments.

Best take away, delivery in the Walton area, never had an issue alway hot, correct and can order online. Meal deals fit nicely with my family and it does burgers for those that not do pizza

Forget pizza hut or pizza express, this is the best pizza by far. Beautiful sauce with quality cheeses. Cannot fault it in any way.

Ordered a range of pizzas and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even brought the food to the car whilst I was waiting (which was unexpected but welcomed). Food was very good and brilliant amount of toppings on the pizza.

Ordered 2 pizzas for delivery, friendly delivery guy arrived in 20 minutes. Pizzas were hot, fresh and loaded with toppings. Beats the other well know pizza brands hands down. Brilliant value too!

Really enjoy these pizza with great deals and eat from here once a month. Meat Plate is my favourite!

My family were staying at Walton Naze Marine Holiday Park. We decided to order a pizza because we didn't want to cook that night. After placing our order (very friendly staff) we were informed that they could not deliver because they didn't understand the layout of the caravan park where we were staying. They did say that they could deliver to the reception office, but at that time of night it was closed, so we ended up having to drive to Walton town centre to pick our order up. The pizza was pretty good. Adequate toppings, but not enough tomato base which made it a bit dense because of all the thick melty cheese. I think if this company worked out how to deliver to all the surrounding holiday parks, and advertised the fact, they would be quids in!!

In this area of Essex, we're out of the delivery range of the mainstream pizza delivery companies so it's good to have Family Pizza in Walton-on-the-Naze who will deliver.The website is easy to navigate, the choice is very wide and their deal of any pizza for £9.99 is decent. Obviously it's cheaper to grab a pizza from a supermarket but I don't think they match these for quality.When ordering, the website gives an estimated delivery time and they've always arrived ahead of time. I don't know how they do it but the pizza always comes incredibly hot, they seem hotter than if I'd cooked them myself! It's about a two mile drive to my house.Food quality is excellent, we've tried all different bases with a wide variety of toppings and never been disappointed with a single pizza.Note that this is delivery or takeaway only. They also sell burgers, chicken, chips etc but I've never tried any of those. For me, they excel at pizza and I've never felt the need to buy anything else from them.Thoroughly recommended!
